"R-real?" Astia quivered, but managed not to fall down. Her eyes widen in fear, and her knee's started to buckle. "What the?" She looked back at the Kawani village. What in the world was that noise? She looked up at the Pale's.. "But why?" She shook and tryed to hide behind Awnae.

Screaming at the sound of the gun, she held tight to Princess Soquili's hand! She could hear almost evreyone around her screaming too. This was a bad thing, their chief fanted and now that could mean the settlers could've heard it and is coming their way.
Quickly looking at the chief, she got scared. Wonder if anyone shot him. The same sound she heard from the pale faces was made. The chief fell and look like he was dead. "OH MY!"

Nashota screamed as the Chief blasted the thunder-stick down to the ground, where she was kneeling. The spirit forces knocked Nashota over, hurting her face. She felt as if she had a large headache. She touched the side of her head and felt something. She looked at her hands. They had blood on her fingertips.
She wasn't badly injured, just confused as there was panic. She turned to the chief, lying on the floor. She began to scream very loudly in her high-pitched voice.
"Nashota!" cried Leah as she let out a roar. "Randee, Nashota must be in danger!" Leah rushed towards Nashota, followed by Randee.

Oathkeeper gave a startled leap and the loudest, most echoing whinny yet escaped from his mouth in his moment of fear. Not knowing what on earth it was or where it came from, he gave another big prance and skidded back to Nokomei's side.
Nokomei had screamed in fear, "Oathkeeper!" When the stallion skidded safely next to her side, she gave him a hug. She looked over her shoulder, great spirits, was that the thunderstick the chief had?

Kisoni "Padre!" Christien called as Ansel moved up in the line towards the Father's position. Stopping shoulder to shoulder with Arama, Ansel lowered his head to the grass himself to take a few mighty chunks from it. His tail flicked over hers in a hasty greeting, though they hadn't really spoken much since they'd departed from the bowels of the ship. Above them, his boy continued, "Padre... what are these noises now?" Christien had long come to respect the priest for what he was, of course; a man of God, as well as a learned man who must surely know the answers to his questions. A fellow Catholic, in such a dark land, made a good friend and allie as far as Christien was concerned.. and.. he was, underneath it all, still a scared little boy, lost a long, long way from home. "I thought I heard horses... but that cannot be right, can it?" Tasunke heard some yelling far off from the village.. He grabbed at his bone knife that was in a sheath around his waist...

((*makes up an indian persona*))Summer Jessamin had climbed up into a tree. She had told herself it was so she could see better and help warn the others. But in truth, it was to hide and stay away from everything. Afterall, she had no horse, she had no wits about her, and she was generally always afraid. Hiding seemed like the best thing to do.
Her own little fears were not calmed any by the thunder stick's roar. In fact, her bare feet suddenly slipped and she lost her footing on the branch. Luckily, she wa able to catch herself and hang in the tree for a moment. As she curled up and reclaimed her hiding spot, she shook slightly from her own nervousness. Perhaps this wasn't the safest place for her. If only she wasn't so curious and wanted to watch so badly...

Nashota became alarmed and stood in front of Tasnuke. "Take me with you," she said confidentaly. She then stood behind him, following him. She looked back to see Leah and Randee following her.
The headache kicked in again, but she tried to ignore it.

Padre Miguel looked toward Christien and smiled despite his worry. The lad was a Catholic, one of the few he would trust with the knowledge of his priesthood. "I am not certain what these noises are; perhaps we are the first men to ever hear of them in this new world. But rest assured, our Father in Heaven and Blessed Mary will protect us wherever we go."
Arama nodded quickly toward Ansel before she put all her concentration on walking forward. She was at work now, and she couldn't stop working to hail a friend. She did, however, spook a little at the sound of gunfire.
Padre Miguel frowned at this new sound. "If we both just heard gunfire, son, it is possible you heard horses." This really didn't make any sense to the Padre, but he put on a brave face. "Perhaps there are others who came before us, waiting for us to greet them." He had heard rumors of Spanish voyages to this new world, so it was entirely possible.

Tasunke came out of no-where and was looking mad. "Attack?" Chamain couldn't make her decision to attack or not. Looking at her arrows and bow, she picked them up and got ready. Just in case Standing firmly on the ground, she waited.
Walking over Chamain, standing beside her human, she waited also. Looking far into the distance for any men riding horses coming.

Leaving their lonely teepee in the middle of the forest, Flame carried his young charge towards the village center, his nostrils filled with the strange smoke and the fear of the two young stallions behind him. Little Misae clung to his braided locks with chilly fingers, all the while whispering a prayer he did not understand, further unsettling Tai and Blais.
Further ahead, Celei took the "tree route" to the village in the company of the golden bird Marahute.
Scaling the tree's with practiced ease, Celei moved further ahead of her ground bound companions, grey-green eyes surveying the forest gloom ahead of her.
Bah.. it's too hard to see... She thought, hooking her arm around a wide branch to swing up, unaware of Mara's warning screech from above. So intent was she as they neared the Kawani settlement, that she didn't notice the weakness at the base of the aged oak branch...
Until it cracked under her weight.
Screeching again in defiance, Marahute dove through the canopy as she fell, landing next to the unconcious figure of her human, mantling defensively over her as she heard the tell tale sounds of many horses coming through.
It all happened to fast for the fiery stallion, suddenly he heard the familar sounds of the village, then the threatening sound of a thunderstick and a low roar. He didn't understand what was happening, all he saw was the forest...

"What are you both taken by crazy spirits?!" Nokomei shouted at Tasunke and Nashota, "You'll be killed!"
Oathkeeper made a quick attempt to get in the two of their ways.

Crow grabbed her dagger. She couldn't help but agree with Tasunke now. Everyone else was doing it. She looked into the distance, secretly hoping the pale's would never show up.

"Brother.. the pale faces didn't kill our father.. he is alive. I can feel his heart. It was just a fire stick that did it..not the pale faces. Please calm down .."
