Rivven looked over the weapons laid out, considering. "Yes." he consented, watching the scene. "Though, considering the arms presented, I don't know what you expect to see." his oppinion? At one point, Quintilius had been a silly, abstractly acting nobleman with a dangerous side, and not greatly more. Now, he was certainly much more dangerous, and in control of himself despite any appearances. He wondered if it had always been so.
Anyhow, he didn't think chances were very good of whoever picked up another of the weapons. He was more curious about if it would be a good or bad thing for relations with the foreign powers, the Marquis' defeating one of them. He knew there would be no war until after their war at least, and even then, he thought it was unlikely.
All things considered, he didn't think they would be prepared to launch a successful attack on Black Amber. In his mind, they lacked some of the advantages a country on a small, isolated body might have. Black Amber did lack a tight organization and the defensibility of a smaller area, but it had more in way of natural resources, and probably even technology. On top of that, these enemies would have to come over water to attack at all.
That, in particular, would be rough for them if it was ever necessary. But then, he didn't want to relly on just that single card tucked up his sleeve. And even with a few more, it was better avoided. For once, though, he thought the Marquis' judgement seemed rather off.

((Does Rivven know IC that every battle the Faye have ever fought they've had to cross water?))
Thinking the witch wasn't going to cause any more trouble and make Fay and Dain more uncomfortable, Fay stepped up to Quin. "It's why we're here, what test do you have in mind?" she replayed in her head when he'd assured her the weapons were safe for Fair Folk to handle.

Arrogant, maybe; humble, not likely; diplomatic, yes. Quin looked at Fay for a while as she spoke. She was rather attractive in a different way; but that had no place here.
"As real a circumstance you can find in the battle field without the battle field. A trading of blows to see how it works in your hands."

I'm contemplating having this post considered void as it goes against what has been stated IC of the environment. The entire area is closed off and Quin is in the middle of an open area. Really, I'm going to need to get better help if people can't even bother to listen to them.
Rias snuggled Illiana tighter against her chest as she saw the exit ahead of her. The child was practically quivering with the possibility of playing outside. A breif smile crossed her lips as she looked down at her. She didn't see the pile of rubble on the ground, so focused she was on Illiana. She stumbled out into the street, almost right behind Quin. Her eyes widened in shock as her hood fell back and Illiana tumbled out of her arms.
Illiana yelped as she hit the ground rather painfully. Rubbing her knees and trying to force back tears, she looked at her skinned knees, ignoring everything else around. She didn't even realize that Rias wasn't picking her up and helping her.
At that thought, she looke dup and tried to focus on the nearest thing. Which happened to be Quin's back. A huge smile broke out but she stayed put as she brushed her tears away. She always enjoyed being around everyone else. She looked toward the other shadowy figures. "Riv'n! Mornan!" She still hadn't mastered her speech yet.
((Don't know quite yet Illiana's relation to them.))
Rias took a step back, although instinct told her to grab Illiana first. She knew though that none of these wouldn't harm the child. It was after all the Clan Leader's daughter. THen again, they could turn against her and claim she was trying to kidnap her. As long as they didn't see her wings. She silently prayed they wouldn't notice the small bit of rustling or the small opening that her feathers were poking out of.
((Rias has wings so she was able to surpass the blocks. And as for the open area part, I never mentioned she was right behind him. She still pretty far back from them with Illiana. Only way they would have actually seen them is if Illiana had spoken, and she did. Also Rias took Illiana away from where Pale had dropped Illiana off))

((It it confusing, mainly because I thought that Pale had dropped her spawn off with Wedsday.))
"As real?" she was amused, and almost smiled "That presumes a lot. Althought I imagine you would be the one I trade with?" the Clootie's role was fast being forgotten.

((The post is rendered void. It shall be ignored.))
"Of course. How else could you get a true understanding of the way it works?"
She smiled, well this would be interesting. Quin could only grin in responce; he seemed kind of different as he adopted a fighting stance. His left was angled closer to her then his right though he still faced her. Holding the hilt in a two handed grip he waited.

((No, but he does know his own resources. Nearly the only thing he's assuming is that they'd use boats to come across.
No relation yet. They'll take up teaching the children at the school when they're older.
'Fraid I don't think there's much for me to add to this all IC right now.))

A human that did not want to be the one to strike the first blow. Although she had expected there to be some differences between the anglos and whatever motley bunch were found here that he presumed her to go first was interesting.
Quickly she transfered the blade to her left hand and flipped her stance. Not caring if the others were close to them she stretched out and lunged at his throat, but it was merely a faint. While it could be expected to do no damage it kept her fully protected.
The balance was adequate, but now to test the durability....

Quin took a step to his left and foward. Out of the path of her lunge, even if it was a feint.
It would not however keep her safe as Quin had held his sword at the waist in a horizontal manner with the tip pointed to his right.
With his step closer he swung the sword beneath her lunge to catch her midsection.
