God, we're playing this march in band called "The Trombone King." Now, I'm sure you all know that low brass don't really get a lot in marches, but not this one. Most low brass have the melody at some point in time except the tubas. I get really, really bored doing the damn oom-pas.
So, I hate all marches.

That's a freakin' awesome song, becuase it's a trombone feature. Glisses abound and we have the melody except for one part. The entire band hated that song when we played it, except for the trombones. Even then, half of them hated it because the director made us stand up in front of the band so the audience could see us, for whatever reason...Was great fun!

Stormbird_Rising I play two... trombone and baritone, though I'm infinitely better at trombone than at baritone! I only took baritone lessons for about a week, just for fun so I could learn another instrument. lol, same here!! Except, I've never had lessons for baritone...^^;;; lol.

I have!! **huggles her sheet music** Exept we played it as a trombone solo. ^^

I actually just discovered that this place had a forum... How's that for technologically challenged? Okay, well, I guess this is a low brass thing, so I have a few questions... Does anyone here have a Yamaha F attatchment? I do, and there's this little thing that's kind of like a tuning slide, but smaller, and it's right below my tuning slide, and I don't know what the heck it does! Any help?

OMGOMG!!!! thIS IS soooo awesome. I'm a freshy in high school and I play SOUSAPHONE!!!! (in response to some random person that says sousas don't get good marching parts, has anyone ever marched the "Mask of Zorro" soundtrack?) Now I really think that is unfair, finding out concert tuba and sousaphone are different after I voted... I play Marching baritone, Concert euphonium, Sousaphone, 3-key Concert tuba, 4-key concert tuba, Trombone, and Trigger trombone... SO THERE!!!! 7 LOW BRASS INSTRUMENTS (in truth, I can only play trigger trombone like a normal trombone). Um... do you guys think any of the dorks outside of the LB know how freaking tough it is to march them? I mean, the trumpeters (who I also patronize, being one of them as well) have no clue that the baritone is like a big trumpet (and they think they have it hard).
