panzer45 phoenix_echo tsunamigirl if we had japanese, i'd take that in a heartbeat... all we have is spanish, french, german, and latin >_< us too!!! they require that we take Latin in 7th grade and our school moto thing "noli res subdole facere" (do nothing on the sly) is Latin.. private schools are weird...not to mention our CHEESY uniforms stare i love latin...not sure what's wrong with you two... ((maybe it's cuz they're mormon...the crazies xp )) my fav. latin phrase is parate moratare! it means prepare to die! ferus agricola is better... of course, that's more like an inside joke with my old class sweatdrop lol i yell morte at my comp when it acts up blaugh it just does it more until i say muerta or just flat out "die!"

Latin is the coolest evar! eek i learned a lot my senior year of high school because my English teacher gave us a few words and phrases as part of our vocabulary each week, plus we had to learn the Latin roots of the other words on our list (where applicable, because not all of them have Latin roots). it's actually VERY handy and i thoroughly enjoyed it and still do because i know and remember most, if not all of it. Latin is everywhere! 3nodding (and for those who dread Shakespeare, it gets easier when you understand Latin because he uses it a lot...)
example - Et tu, Brute? translation - And you, Brutus? this is significant because even Brutus, one of Caesar's best friends, stabbed him in the back with the others.
example2 - Carpe Diem! - Cease the day!
example3 - Semper Fidelis - Always faithful <--- ever heard of "semper fi, do or die?" wink see, it's important and fun! biggrin

The only foreign language at my school is French. (They offer Spanish, but I live in Texas; it's not foreign here.)
