Like a moment in time, there was a second where the world almost stopped around Drako.
Cameras flashed, people stood wide-mouthed, as the Soaring Dragon went flying through the air.
Crash!
The sound echoed through the arena, as Damone landed the perfect moonsault onto Fusion, and right through the announcer's table!

Drako had a fondness for moonsaults, and his high profile matches like this, he also had a fondness for hitting them through the announcer's table. It was a risk he was willing to take for those that refused to stay down.
Breathing had been difficult for a large part of the match and crashing through the table didn't help make that easier. Still, he rolls to the barricade, briefly clutching his abdomen, before attempting to pull Nuke back up. They have a rising ten count to beat and he desperately attempts to roll the man back into the ring

Ho-ly s**t! Ho-ly s**t! Ho-ly s**t!
That was the chorus that rang out across the arena, as Drako struggled to get Nuke towards the ring. He was a bit of deadweight at this point.
Eventually, though, Damone had gotten Fusion to ringside. A grab and a shove and Nuke is rolled into the room.
But, he's not particularly moving.

finally, Drako had gotten Nuke into the ring. Now, to get himself back in. Once again clutching his abdomen, the Soaring Dragon hangs onto the apron and finally forces himself back in under the bottom rope. Now, all that remained was to put Nuke away here, as he attempts to roll the man onto his back and cover him for the pin

The crowd just knew this would be the moment that Drako takes the first match in this Best of 3 series. It just had to be.
The ref slid to the mat, ready to count the pinfall.
One!
Two!
Thr-!
The ref suddenly stops and makes Drako and the crowd aware that Nuke had put his foot onto the bottom rope!

Drako realizes the ref stopped short, but he didn't feel any movement indicating a kickout. Unfortunately, Drako hadn't gotten Nuke away from the ropes, so as Drako sits up, he realizes why the referee stopped.
"Damn it!"
Drako forces himself to stand up again. He'd tried a little bit of everything to put the elder Fusion away. Now he had to reach down into the well again.
Drako steps out onto the apron through the ropes, then climbs the turnbuckle. He's not moving as quickly as he would in the earlier parts of the match, but that should be expected. Upon reaching the top, he'd wait for Nuke to stand to dive off again, looking to put him down finally with a Raining Fire off the top rope

Nuke breathed in deep, not completely knowing what had just happened. The ref stood back and watched as Drako began his ascent.
The crowd cheered on, with no hint as to what they would be expecting next.
But, as Nuke stood up, Drako leaped through the air again.
The Raining Fire struck with such ferocity from the weight of gravity upon it, that Fusion's body went up and backwards, rolling and come to a halt in the center of the ring!

Finally, that has to do it. Drako scrambles over to Nuke and this time hooks both legs for the pin

The crowd waited with baited breath as Drako hooked Nuke's leg for another pinfall..
One!
Two!
THREE!
The bell rang to signal the end of the match.. Drako had won!

Drako rolls off of the pin after the three count as his music hits the PA. Finally, he can acknowledge just how exhausted he really is by simply laying on the mat.
"Here is your winner, Drako Damone!"
The Soaring Dragon is aware of himself being announced at the winner and he can hear the cheers of the crowd. Finally, he forces himself to stand up again and takes the moment to look around the arena. He's spent, and to think that this is only the first of a potential three matches.
Drako finally steps out of the ring and heads up the ramp, at least slightly limping as he does. He's going to feel this the rest of the night and probably into the next show but as he stops on the stage to look back out at the arena, a smile is on his face. That win felt pretty damn good
