Right at the last minute Avari side steps, attempting to use the momentum to have Marcus crash in to the turnbuckle!

perhaps he'd gone to the well too many times with that one, as Avari manages to sidestep and Marcus crashes into the corner instead, leaning on the second turnbuckle that he'd crashed into

Avari tries to take advantage once more, moving forward and trying to roll up Marcus for a quick win!

Marcus is fairly prone and finds himself rolled backwards into a pin.
one...two...thre...
Marcus puts all that he can into this kickout, ending up facedown on the mat

The crowd were halfway through bursting in to a massive cheer, right before Marcus kicked out!
Avari rolled on to his back, a look of disbelief on his face as the ref confirms the two count. Fusion looks up at him and motions three fingers on his hand, but the referee waves away his protest.
The crowd slowly go in to a chant of..
"This is awesome!"

This match was honestly the biggest test of Marcus' career other than retiring his father, but even that wasn't quite the same as this one. Good thing he stayed in training with his father or he might not have lasted so long. But that's a truth he has no interest in admitting out loud.
Being close to the ropes is something of a benefit as he once again turns himself towards them and uses the ropes to pull himself up

Avari looks over at Marcus, and already noticed him beginning to stand again. Almost with a groan in his head he beats the mat below him with his fists.
Fusion rolls to the side, knowing he has to keep the pace in his favour. He rolls completely out of the ring and goes to duck down and hide just below the ring apron.

Marcus finally gets to his feet and turns around, finding the ring empty. That's different. As he walks/limps to the center of the ring, he looks around, not readily spotting the younger Fusion anywhere. He looks to the ref, who confirms the match is still going on and he didn't black out there

The ref begins his count, as Avari creeps along the apron and will try to get behind Marcus.
If he's able to he will try and slide in to the ring behind his opponent

Marcus had kept his gaze on the referee. He knew something would have to happen here. He wasn't winning on a countout. However, something felt off, and Marcus turns around after Avari has already slid into the ring

Avari unleashes his inner beast as he attempts to use the surprise and momentum to run forward and clothesline Marcus!

the element of surprise definitely aids Avari here, as the clothesline sends Marcus back to the mat again. The recent whirlwind of action forces Marcus to take a moment on the mat to get his senses about him

No time to relent, no time to let your opponent get right back up. Fusion realises he has to keep this up and tries to use a move out of his dad's old arsenal.. he runs at the ropes, using them as a tool to attempt a lionsault!

Marcus is already prone on the mat, and a few seconds later Avari comes crashing down on top of him again with a Lionsault. One might think that the younger Damone has a weakness for moonsault variations at this point as the air is driven out of him by one for the second time in this match

Nope, got to carry on. Avari gets up holding his ribs and looks around him. He needs something else at this point to keep on going.
Running at the turnbuckle, he takes a leap up to the top. Eyeing up Damone, he will wait for him to stand and attempt to catch him with a hurricanrana!
