Yoku froze for a moment as he heard a crunching sound behind him. Was it some kind of animal that just now decided to show up to attack him before he could get to the village? That made sense if it determined it was going to miss out on it's prey right? Obviously he would need to see what it was before determining his next course of action, so he slowly turned around. Then he saw a person, which for a moment he wasn't sure if it was a better thing that it was a person or not, but they also had a snake with them. Maybe the real one was the snake and the person was just controlled by the snake, that stuff happened sometimes down here right?

After a moment he noticed that the man was approaching him, still quietly and his eyes were not only odd due to their colors but the man never seemed to blink either. Then after a few hand motions Yokuatsu picked up the man was indicating something to him. Thinking about it in his head for a moment before making a face like he understood what the person was saying. "Oh! Don't go in by myself, follow you." He said, pretty proud of himself for understanding this weird snake person's wordless statement before following after him. "So uh, where are you taking me? How were you so quiet up until now? Why are you so snake like? Why do you have a snake?" He asked the person he was now following various questions, curious about what was essentially a new world and new experience for him. A new kind of person.

▱▰▱Mizuchi smiled impishly under his bandages as Yoku peppered him with questions. The entire bottom half of his face was wrapped in bandages, which concealed most of his facial expressions. He continued leading the way to Tanigakure. He only turned around when Yoku asked where he was being led to. Mizuchi's arm slithered forward as he pointed at Tanigakure off in the distance. The Valley Village was visible from this location with its elevated position relative to the surrounding area. Mizuchi and Yoku would walk down the winding roads and rolling hills that made up Tanigakure's surrounding domain.

▱▰▱Mizuchi was completely silent as his lithe legs slinked along the cobblestone path. Yoku would see the signage along the road leading to Tanigakure, indicating that Mizuchi was not attempting to trick or ambush him. Mizuchi seemed to be taking shortcuts along the roads to avoid caravan, trade, and immigration traffic. Tanigakure was never the same after the displaced refugees of the Jashin crisis came flooding in. Once the duo reached the gates, Mizuchi presented his forehead protector on his sleeve and walked in before Yoku. He waved at Yoku to the guards, as though he was vouching for him. Yoku would be expected to fill out customs before entry as Mizuchi patiently waited on the other side of the village's threshold.

Yokuatsu would find himself following the snake man, who once again didn't speak even though he was being asked questions. Perhaps it was some weird beneath the clouds sort of thing. Or maybe this person took the idea of don't talk to strangers a little too literally? He still did hand motions to at least indicate what he could, which Yoku appreciated he supposed. He couldn't really understand the specifics about this person or this place now that he thought about it. Coming down here with little knowledge might have been a mistake, but it's already been done so there was no point to going back on it now.

When they reached the gates the guards there seemed to let the snake man in, but Yoku had to fill out forms. At the absolute least, this was something that Yoku would get through pretty easily and quickly. Among the many things he learned about filling forms was one of them. Taken off to a small room where he would fill out information about himself, obviously he had to leave some of the information a little vague. He could not give specifics about things like his home island or things related to the sky village as they were not things he felt he should do. However just saying he was from the cloud sea archipelago was probably enough for them to understand...hopefully. After finishing, he would find himself walking into the village finally and then meeting up with the weird snake guy again. "Alright, where to now?"

▱▰▱He waited patiently for Yoku to fill out his customs forms and enter the gates. His piercing gaze was unyielding as he watched Yoku step through the gates. If the gate guards determined that he was not a threat, Mizuchi had no qualms leading him to the Tanikage. Once Yoku approached him and asked where they were going next, Mizuchi pointed at a tall building. This building was the Tanikage's office. Mizuchi left the area and headed toward the office while wagging his finger, indicating for Yoku to follow.

                                                              《〔Village:: Tanigakure Affiliated〕〔Rank:: Honorary Genin〕〔Body Rank:: D〕》

The gentle creak of wooden wheels and the sound of jingling bells pierced the air as a caravan approached the outer edges of Tanigakure. The trees on either side of the path cast long shadows across the path, with the scattered light creeping in from between between branches to form intermittent golden pools. As the caravan passed through these patches of light, more details could be seen. There were two wagons, each pulled by sturdy oxen. The wagons were loaded with what appeared to be various supplies. Food, booze, clothing and materials of various conditions and types. There were several people. Each wagon had a single rider guiding the oxen, a visible sitting passenger beside them, and two additional people walking on either side to ensure the wagon maintained a stable course. As the caravan continued its approach, a stray rock pushed underneath one of the wooden wheels, causing the wagon to shift violently, stirring a sleeping boy resting amidst the cargo.

A light groan caught the attention of one of the walking members of this misfit band of travellers, causing them to reach into the back of the wagon and shake away any remnants of sleep. ”Okay, okay. Jeez. I’m awake,” said the young man that had been roused from his slumber. ”Please tell me we’re almost there Ren. Sleeping in the wagon gives me a stiff neck.” As the boy sat up, he rubbed the crusty rheum out of his eyes and ran a hand through his dirty-blonde hair. Red pools blinked open to begin adjusting to the new surroundings.

”Yes, we’re here. You know Yuki, you didn’t have to sleep in the wagon. We could have stopped at any point so you could nap.” The man that had reached in to shake Yuki awake offered a smile. Ren’s blonde hair reflected some of the sun into his ward’s eye, blinding him for a moment. ”Or I could have carried you. I really wouldn’t have minded.”

”Stop treating me like a kid, Ren. It annoys the hell out of me.”

                                                              ”Yuki, lan-”

”Language, I know. Sorry. Seriously though, if I had you carry me it’d just wear you out, and stopping so I could nap would make this trip take longer than it needed to.” Yuki checked the wagon to ensure nothing had fallen out of his pockets before vaulting over the side and taking up the pace beside his mentor. ”This is the place, huh? It’s… smaller than I imagined.”

An older, stouter man from beside the first wagon stopped walking, resuming his steps after Ren and Yuki caught up to his location. ”The young prince is awake now? About time.”

Ren covered Yuki’s mouth before the boy could respond to the taunt. ”Please, Mafuba. Must you antagonize him so?”

”Must I? No. It’s just fun to see his reaction sometimes,” the elderly man responded, letting loose with a full belly laugh. As the younger boy continued to fume, Mafuba gathered himself and produced a series of documents from a satchel on his waste. The small traces of a mustache that sat on either side of his upper lip turned down in a serious expression that was uncommon for a gentleman of his spiritedness. ”You don’t think they’ll turn us away, do you?”

                                                              ”They’d be stupid to”

                                                              ”Yuki!”

”Sorry. Listen, you can hear how busy it is from here.” The older bald man and Yuki’s blonde mentor cocked their heads and cupped their ears to pick up the sounds that Yuki had pointed out. For a village of this size, the sound of the bustling life inside was much too large for comfort. ”We’re offering free labor. Building new houses, helping with agriculture; whatever they need.”

The three walked in silence while Mafuba looked over the documents in his hand, then offered them to Ren. ”Here. Looks like everything we should need is in there.”

Ren leafed through the documents, only taking long enough to briefly glimpse the information they contained before flipping to the next page. ”Yep! Customs forms, letters of introduction, lists of services we can offer, trade options.. It’s all here.” He brushed a stray hair from his face before projecting his voice to the rest of the caravan. ”Alright gentlemen! We’re close enough, let’s halt for a moment.” The wagon driver ahead of them turned their head and nodded in acknowledgement, pulling the reins to rest their oxen. ”Before we get closer to the village, the three of us will go in to make introductions and request entry. The rest of you wait here, feed the oxen and keep an eye out for any ‘ne'er do wells’ that would try to abscond with our goods. See you soon gents!”

As Ren finished his speech, he began making his way closer to the gates. Mafuba trailed behind him slightly, and Yuki quickly reached in to grab a long, covered trinket out of the back of the wagon before jogging to catch up. ”Really? You won’t go anywhere without that thing will you?”

”Shut up. I’m not like you and Ren. I’ll need this in case I have to protect myself,” Yuki shot back with an embarrassed blush.

Mafuba chuckled at the boy’s flushed face. ”Calm down kid, I’m just giving you a hard time. I don’t think you’ll need it though, we’re not here to start trouble.” Up ahead, Ren was stopped by what Yuki assumed was a patrolling guard. He handed the shinobi a portion of the documents he had in hand, likely the customs forms and letters of introduction, before waving for Mafuba and Yuki to hurry. The guard looked over the forms for a moment, glancing at each of the three members forming the ragtag "advance party" and at the remaining members of the caravan they had left behind. A quick signal with their hand produced two more guards that would stay here to watch the entrance to the village (and the caravan of outsiders) while the first guard led the trio towards the Kage's office.

Yuki reached beneath the covering of the trinket he had brought with him to produce a leather strap, using the strap to throw his possession over his shoulder for ease of transport. As he did so, the guard leading them inside eyed him suspiciously for a moment. "It's just my pipe, the details are in those papers there," he offered in explanation, which seemed to appease their guide for now. Yuki let out a quiet sigh of relief and crossed the threshold into the village proper. 'Here we go...'

The illusionist chooses [1] Sense of Specialization that will render a genjutsu cost [1] rank less if the casted genjutsu's primary sense is their specialization. Genjutsu that use the illusionist's Sense of Specialization as the primary sense become resistant to the sensory powers of sages and non-Infinite Perception discipline scholars. This resistance means that the genjutsu will go unnoticed from these abilities. Since the illusionist has become so adept in their Sense of Specialization they may always weave it into genjutsu as an Additional Sense unless it would bring the illusion's sensory control above the [5] limit. The illusionist may also always select any Additional Sense that is not their Sense of Specialization to add to a genjutsu as long as it does not exceed the cap of [5] manipulated senses.

If two elemental bloodlines are chosen then the primary bloodline's elemental affinities become your base elements and you gain full access to those elements while your secondary bloodline gives you locked elemental affinities that you cannot learn ninjutsu techniques from but you gain full access to the secondary bloodline. Locked elemental affinities can be unlocked through methods such as ninjutsu class or personal attributes. Elemental affinity personal attributes are automatically allotted to locked affinities. Following Kumiko's notes, most of the high priority ingredients could be found in the Valley. A vast, lush forest that surrounded Tanigakure that was nestled inside of a deep canyon. Unlike inside of the village, many of the pathways (if there were any at all), went along with the natural flow of the environment. Jagged rocks and cliffs lined and hovered along the side of rushing rivers. The forests here took over everything else, even growing out from rocky cliffs, their roots traveling down from stony surfaces into the earth or water below. A mist permeated the Valley, barely hindering vision, but instead adding to the area's enchanting atmosphere. Chishiya's visits to the Valley were rare, but every time they came here, the presence felt was unlike anything they had ever felt before. As if the Valley was alive, every inch of it brimming with vigor. For some reason they felt at ease here. They felt safe. Accepted.

A little over an hour has passed since Chishiya entered the Valley, utilizing their former training to traverse the unpredictable nature of the area here. Their athleticism was still tested however, as proven by the beads of sweat forming above Chishiya's brow as they leapt, climbed, and ran through the many obstacles that stood between them and the precise locations described in Kumiko's notes. Deep in one section of the forest was a tree known for producing leaves that Kumiko had done enough tests and extractions on to produce an antidote for some of the peculiar illnesses inflicting the more recent Hoshou District patients entering the clinic. Producing fever-like symptoms with rashes, it was confirmed that the illness was contagious. This was a big problem for such a small area that was already overcrowded. Kumiko and some of the nurses had already come to a conclusion that this sickness evolved from the less than satisfactory conditions of the district itself, making it difficult to contain.

The bigger issue was the availability of these leaves, due to there being few trees that produce them. Only two have been recorded by Kumiko with their exact locations noted. They are very similar to the surrounding trees in the same forest, which make them difficult to identify for the untrained eye. The venation on these leaves create a spiral in accordance to the shape of the leaf itself. Even once these types of leaves are found, extraction must be done on site to preserve the leaves. An opaque fluid is present in the leaves with the required ingredient, which not all of the descripted leaves have. Chishiya was tasked with extracting a sizeable amount of this liquid to replenish the stores at the herbal shop, as well as enough to create individual batches of the antidote for the local clinics. Hopefully, should things not get any worse in the Hoshou District, Kumiko thinks the batches should last a month or so - enough time to have a steady supply ready for each clinic should Chishiya have a successful extraction.

The deeper Chishiya roamed into the forest, the dimmer the area became. The tops of trees grew thicker here, preventing little light from the sun to shine through. The trunks of trees were notably thicker here too, upon closer observation. Despite the lack of light, the green coloring of the grass and leaves were more vibrant, and the earth beneath Chishiya's feet felt softer, giving way under their otherwise gentle, conscient steps. This very part of the forest felt alive, more than all the rest. There was another feeling too, that Chishiya couldn't quite put a name to. But it was also there. There was nothing positive or negative associated with this feeling, just a feeling. A raise of goosebumps along the skin of their arms came with this mysterious realization, then faded soon after. The tree as depicted in Kumiko's notes was just up ahead. It's large, gnarled trunk loomed high above them, many of its branches outstretched and twisted, even curling around the tree itself.

With the extraction kit and vials presented to them by Kumiko for this task, Chishiya took those and some other equipment out to begin their work. They started with some of the lower branches that were within reach. Carefully utilizing the tools to extract liquid from various leave without plucking the leaves from the branches. This was the only rule Kumiko gave to Chishiya. This liquid was contained extremely special properties that could only maintain their potency while the leaf remained intact with the branch. Kumiko had yet to complete their research on why this was the case, but suspected that it had something to do with the earth in this region, and even the tree itself. Several unsuccessful leaves later, Chishiya managed to extract a mysterious opaque liquid from one of the leaves. They placed it into a vial and sealed it to prevent any deficiencies in it properties during travel. Even inside of the vial, Chishiya could feel something emanating from the liquid through the glass. It made them evermore curious about this forests, and piqued their interests in Kumiko's research.

Chishiya was inspired by the uniqueness and abundance of the village's natural resources. There was so much that could be done here to help those struggling in the Hoshou District, and possibly beyond that. They continued working delicately sifting through the leaves on this large tree, careful not to disturb the peace of the fauna in its natural habitat. The filling of the vials with the extracted liquid was slow and meticulous work, yet Chishiya found themselves more driven by this process than discourage. Reflecting on their past up until this point, it was similar to what they had and will continue to go through.
