Sheva was taken off guard by the blinding flash from Mako, thought she conjured this mist... she was by no means immune. She stumbled back and touched the wall behind her. Though she thought that she was a decent distance from Unki, she knew that running into a wall was not a good idea. She carefully placed her bow on the ground and crouched down, there was nothing at the moment that she would be able to do. She used a string of one handed seals and placed her hand on the ground... though she had a spot in her vision from Mako; she was going to make sure that she gathered more information from Unki. She released her chakra though the floor and started to concentrate; holding the final sign of the string. She allowed her chakra to embed itself into the floor and echo through the room.

Aurelia started on the training after stepping foot into the dojo. Her eyes swiftly changed to the Rinnegan, swapping paths as she crated a dark black pole of chakra that was the right size for her shape. She would stroll over to the book case with scrolls and start on the staff style to begin. She took some time to get intro the proper stance and then begin her training as she struck the training dummy with a few basic attacks. [Fighting Stance, Basic Block, Forward Step]
After some familiarity was gained from the first two tehniques, Aurelia would step it up and take a new stance, this one more defensive. Her knees were bent and feet's more apart to lock her into her current position. After which, she became familiar with another technique and yet another stance. The staff of chakra would thrown around wildly as she whacked herself in the arm a couple of times. [Firm Stance, Dexterity: Spinning the Staff, Weak Stance]
Her thoughts shifted to her father and Nohea. Would they be faring well together? The girl did seem to be pretty lacking in the self control department but Aurelia did have high hopes for her. She moved onto twirling the pole around a few times. It flew out of her hand a few times here and there, but after a good few minutes, she would get the hang of keeping momentum. Aurelia wiped some sweat from her forehead and would continue onto the training. [Spin Step, Sweeping Block, Whirlwind]
She continued by sending chakra into the ends of both of her poles, swinging it around with a good amount of force and speed. She moved onto the Circle Step technique next. Her end was lowered to the ground before circling around and sweeped the legs of whoever would be unfortunate to be in her way. The staff weighed heavy in her hands, but she couldn't be the queen that her mother once was by ending just yet. [Chakra Release, Dexterity: Footwork, Step of the Desert]
Aurelia's feet fell on the ground, using her hips and arms to adjust the angle of the weapon to deflect whatever would come at her. She moved to another stepping technique, though this one was much faster than the rest. It took a few tries before she would managed to catch herself after the step but at least she had found a way. After a few more twirls around her arm, she funnel chakra into the weapon as it would increase in durability but not weight. The weapon was smacked on the ground a few times but wouldn't break or disappear no matter how hard she tried [Full Block, Circle Step, Strength of Ivory]
To finish off this round of training, Aurelia would practice driving an end of her weapon into the ground without any Chakra present. Destroying the dojo for a simple technique would probably catch the ire of the squid kage. After she became experienced enough for this mock fight, Aurelia called the rod away and sat down for a bit. Once she had caught her breath, she left the academy. [Launch]

Hiroki's next stop was the dojo, to pick out a nice selection of shiny new weapon techniques before anyone figured out he was actually applying himself. Lawdy that surely could not be a thing that happened.
Shigure Souen was the first bukijutsu style to catch Hiroki's eye. He was sure his interest would shift as he went along, but he also had to start somewhere. It helped that the first few techniques were actually interesting from an execution standpoint. It easily could have bogged him down with basics, instead it threw him into the deep end. The young Uchiha moved immediately along to more interesting techniques. Shigure Souen wasn't disappointing so far. It was made for scrapping. Not really worrying about the details and just getting into it. [ Misting Rain, Last Minute Rain ]
The next pair of techniques added in a dash of evasion. For the most part, Shigure Souen had been offensively focused up to that point. It was nice for it to branch out a bit, even if Hiroki still had a wide array of other options at his disposal. [ (May Wind, October Rain), Summer Rain ]
Splashing Rain was a bit of a flashy technique. Probably something Hiroki would keep in his back pocket. No need to seem too competent. Blessed Rain was a type of training that would no doubt help him later on. Nothing wrong with being a bit more efficient. Might even help him better mask his abilities. And, just as he wrapped up his training on Shigure Souen, it was back to square one for Hiroki. New style, new techniques, new training. First up was exactly what Shigure Souen avoided, a bunch of training. Boring and rote, but unfortunately necessary. [ Deflect, One with the Chain ]
More boring training, less doing. This was a hell of a heavy lift from a training perspective. He'd need to sit down and rest after this one. And he knew just where he'd be going for that. [ Wrap, Throw ]
Unfortunately, he had quite the laundry list to work through before he got there. Little drew his attention in the lower levels of this style, so it'd be mostly working through to get more later on. He figured it was time for a bit of a break though, so broke off the training for the time being. [ Sew, Parry ]
Break over, Hiroki was back to the grind. And boy, was it a grind. The set of techniques he was working at least added a bit more to his arsenal. Hooray for a few new useful tools in his pocket. [ Ball and Chain, Minor Control ]
The next technique on the list was a truly odd one. It essentially turned the kusarigama into an anchor. He wasn't really sure as to what it would be used for. The next technique allowed him to increase the speed of the sickle end of the weapon through the pivoting of the chain around the point. [ Burrowing Sickle, Pivot ]
Train train train. So much training to do and so little time. Hiroki had to admit that, at least in this moment, he was beginning to tire of the kusarigama. The meat and potatoes were clearly further on in the set of scrolls he was not allowed to access. With a sigh he continued twirling the chain. [ Flip!, Slice and smash ]
Hiroki was so close to the end of this dumb kusarigama stuff he could taste it. It tasted like sweat. Which, honestly, might have just been all the sweat from the training itself. Of course, it was impossible to know, and even if it wasn't would have been far too much of a pain to actually determine. So it tasted like sweat. [ Smash, Grappling hook ]
A Genin followed by a row of academy students (and a mouse) entered the Dojo. There was already a section made up for the up and coming ninja so that they wouldn't be in the way of the more experienced Shinobi. "Alright class. We're going to be learning something called Formless Styles. Get into groups of two, and wait for my instructions." Sato and Cashew immediately paired up, and as everyone else started to do the same, Haruko came to the realization that there was going to be one student left out. Apparently a couple of students didn't show today. Cashew offered to give up his spot, allowing Itsuki and Sato to partner together for training, while he opted for learning through the scrolls instead. This gave everyone a partner who was similar in size, likely making explanations easier on Haruko's part.
Opening the scroll, Cashew first read up on the formless style Soft Physical. It was, simply put, movement and flexibility in aspects such as dodging, maneuvers, and throwing. Relying mostly on one's speed and reflexes to avoid damage, or indirectly damage your opponent. It's opposite, Hard Physical was composed of strength and fortitude to take a specific amount of damage or to cause damage to your opponent. Through stances one could achieve stronger attacks, or increase their stability to hold their position. With hard physical, blocking was also an important component as a means of unarmed protection. Soft Mental was, as far as Cashew understood, some form of meditation. By focusing inward, thinking critically about one's combat ability in their current situation, they can increase their potential. In short, taking time to understand yourself and your capabilities, brings upon self-awareness allowing you to perform better. Hard Mental worked slightly different. Focusing outwardly, on your opponent and their combat prowess. By understanding your opponent, you can mimic their style, using it against them.
Projectiles Weapons are basically anything that can be thrown by hand, or ammunition such as arrows or bolts that require a weapon to use. Projectiles require a great deal of accuracy on the user's part, so learning how to properly use the projectile weapon of choice will help in hitting targets successfully. Shuriken and Kunai being the most generic weapon of Shinobi, projectile weapon formless is a common practice. Small weapons are daggers, knives, and the like. Blades, among other things, that aren't much bigger than the user's forearm. They are quick to use, and quite efficient in hitting targets with precision. Medium weapons are your general swords like the Katana, with scythes and shields being some other weapons of choice. They are slightly bigger and heavier than smaller weapons, but have better range. These weapons are typically good for offensive and defensive options given their range and versatility overall. Large Weapons require a lot of strength to wield. Weapons like greatswords and nodachis that can cut down anything in their path in one fell swoop. They are generally used to cause massive amounts of destruction with little effort; their size and weight easily overwhelming the two lighter weapon classes in a clash.

The mouse finished up his physical training, placing the scrolls back, and waiting for Sato and Itsuki to finish their session. The two boys approached the mouse, littered in beads of sweat and breathing heavily. "We're... finally done!" Sato let out a sigh of relief, plopping down on his rear beside his furry friend. Itsuki sat in front of the two, forming a triangle-shaped formation between the three. He was breathing equally as heavy. "Yeah... I'm glad Akina-sensei wasn't teaching this class. She'd probably make us do one-thousand push ups!" All three of them chuckled together. "Where is Akina-sensei anyways? She normally doesn't just up and leave like she did today..." Sato wondered, crossing his arms and looking to his two friends. Cashew pursed his tiny lips for a moment, glancing at both of the boys. "I'm not sure where she is now, but she was acting quite funny this morning..."
Both Sato and Itsuki leaned in close, whispering, "Yeah?"
Cashew too leaned in, as to keep their conversation as quiet as possible. "Yes. When I came in this morning to study, she was buried inside of a suitcase. She immediately shut it and hid it under her desk when she finally noticed me. I don't want to assume anything, but I do find it odd she decided to leave before class started." "Do you think there was something in it?" Itsuki asked. "Undoubtedly, but I'm unsure what. Her suspicious actions call for an investigation." Cashew was no police, but his curiosity was getting the best of him. He wanted to know what she was hiding, and why.
"Well... How are we going to find her? She left this morning." Sato asked, looking between his two friends for suggestions. Cashew was glad that Sato was already on board with this. "We? What do you mean, we?" Itsuki frowned at Sato, "WE shouldn't be snooping in adult's business. Whatever it is, we should just leave it alone."
"But what if it's something bad? Someone has to stop her." Sato stated. It was a stretch to think that their own academy teacher would be up to something sinister. If it was, then they should do what they can to stop her. At least, the mouse felt it was the right thing to do as her students. Yet, if they were her students, she'd have nothing to hide from them, right? "We don't know for sure, but I say we start searching for some clues."
Haruko ended the class session once all of Akina-sensei's students learned all of their formless styles. The children look so tired and exhausted, she felt bad that Akina wanted her to take them back to class to do a paper on what they just learned. How many of them would even stay awake to finish it? "You all did a really great job," Haruko spoke, standing in front of her temporary students as most of them were laid out on the ground, "We're going to end class a little early today. Go home; take a nap. Instead of the history lesson that was planned, I'd like you all to turn in a homework assignment for Akina-sensei tomorrow: Explain two of your favorite formless styles and draw a picture of yourself using one of them! Easy, right? Thank you for all of your hard work. Class is dismissed!"
The academy students are normally stampeding out of the door, cheering loudly and laughing, but not today. Many of them slumped their way to the exit, completely worn out. Others stayed back to rest for a bit, including Cashew, Sato, and Itsuki. "If you two are going to investigate this, count me out. I'm not getting in trouble for being nosy..." Itsuki pushed his glasses further up the bridge of his nose, and got up off of the floor to leave with the other students.
"Looks like it's just us, then." The mouse turned to his friend. Part of him was worried about Sato tagging along, just in case things went downhill. Though he trusted that his best friend would have his back no matter the situation. He wasn't going to stop Sato from joining him if that's what he really wanted to do. "Right." Sato nodded his head, looking to his furry pal to make the next move. Cashew had to lead this one, therefore he was responsible for Sato's safety. He tilted his head over in the direction of Haruko, who was still behind cleaning up the area provided for her students training.
"Haruko-sensei, thank you for the lesson." Cashew smiled at the Genin substitute teacher as he and Sato approached.
"Cashew, Sato? Of course! It was truly a pleasure getting to know you all a little more, and watching you learn. Aren't you two going home?" She asked curiously, putting up the training mats.
"Actually, I was wondering if Akina-sensei was okay? She left quite suddenly..."
Haruko paused, her face toward the mat she was putting away, before looking over her shoulder at the duo. "Uh, yea... she's fine. Just needed to take care of some business is all." She chuckled nervously, grabbing the broom to sweep up the floor where the mats were. Did she know something?
"Ah... Akina-sensei is very diligent when it comes to teaching her class. I just found it... odd. Do you know where she is now? I have some questions for her." Haruko sighed, responding abruptly, "I do not. Speak with her tomorrow." Cashew's ear twitched again. "Are you su--" Haruko turned around, her face covered in a pinkish hue. "Students shouldn't be worried about grown up business. This is why they are to go home after class instead of playing in the str..." She suddenly clamped her hand shut over her mouth. Streets? Cashew's ear twitched once more. "Of course. I didn't mean to upset you, Haruko-sensei. Forgive me. Let's go home and do our homework assignment, Sato." Cashew left the Dojo with Sato in tow. Totally about to go do their homework. [ Exit ]
She shoved the side of sword's grip up to her mouth, bit down on the handles wrappings, and brushed off whatever she could from her clothes. Admits the fog there was a lack of something in this spar which hadn't popped up yet. Starch wasn't the missing piece nor was Unki's own heavenly heat the missing element to this two-on-one. The thought was fleeting when what registered as being Mako was on a coarse towards her. She flickered like an obnoxious light that managed to break through the mist. The light was apparently strong enough to break through the mist and stung her sights. It was probably possible to brave through the bright but Unki opted to avert her eyes and conjures one of her own clones {D-rank shakuton exploding clone; check spoiler}. to execute a mid-air somersault into the shark. She was a sizable target, surely Mako could handle a whippersnapper like Unki without too much worry. The real Unki forms a couple hand seals before allowing her sword to drop from her jaw to her open palm in wait under her chin {Atatameru [ To Heat ] Rank E} with the other hand free for her the next phase of an improvised plan. Again, there wasn't a way Unki could truly see in this fog so she chose to stand her ground and wait. Mako initially feels like the greater threat as a predator in the mist but whatever the Genin had in wait requires the chunin to divide her attention. The glittering projectile could always come back, after all, if the flickering of Mako's light was a call back for it to fly through.
Rather than the excitement of another projectile the edge of Mako's blade appears sooner than anticipated with blue sparks wildly arching over metal as if it were carving its own way through the fog. Oh yes, that scene was very much something Unki wasn't expecting and she was probably had some of her hand niched in the process of maneuvering her response. Adrenaline was taking its course against injury. A distance was still a bit between them thanks to the guan dao { Formless E-rank Dodge, for sake of being legal). A slap of her free hand to the side of the blade was probably all Unki needed to try to put a hamper on the disadvantage of pitted against a long weapon. She still had to try to stay a foot or so away from the blade's edge.

Mako's attack seemed to just barely nick Unki's hand as she evaded. Mako was prepared to capitalize on it when her clone suddenly seemed to disappear in an explosion. A hot wind blew against her skin drawing her ire as it evaporated the moisture on her skin. Hot! Mako snarled, but then something caught in the wind and mixed with the mist that remained that was instinctively familiar to her: the scent of blood. Mako smiled wide even as her eyes seemed to turn white. The edge of her blade burst with sparks of electricity as she stepped forward once more. Her position clear to her opponent, she spun the guandao over head. Crashing down diagonally from top-right to bottom left, Mako would follow it up by flipping her grip and continuing a spin on her left side, transitioning to the right, as she brought the blade slicing through the air and completing a X-shape (Top-left to bottom-right).

__ Kenshin arrived in the intersection between the academy and the dojo. He redirected any traffic that could be walking through that area to keep people safe. Every citizen knew the police captain and knew to heed his orders and avoid him altogether. Once the perimeter was set he carefully installed the lightning rod and prayed for serendipity.

One violent rumbling later, the lightning rod vanished as did the predecessor in the housing district. Any here in the Dojo would then see a gigantic blue streak shoot through the sky and strike the ground like an attack made from the heavens itself. The ground would tremble once more beneath those present. Unki and her entourage could look down to see that veins of chakra snaked through the earth below beneath their feet. Tiny rocks began to float upward suspending in midair before landing back on the ground. The Officer would likely just start to feel it now. The tedium of having to carry these infernal devices from place to place unable to use shunsin less he invoked their wrath. There was also no formal announcements made in regards to what was happening to any citizen perhaps this came with the territory of his task. Ensuring that those were well informed in placing faith in their kage in regards to these 'things' he had given himself the unfortunate duty to preside over. These veins of chakra would extend from the listed point all the way to the academy.
__ Kenshin immediately watched the lightning fly up into the sky as the lightning rod disappeared. He grunted in frustration briefly before springing into action. He formed a few hand signs before a massive surge of lightning erupted from his skin and made his black hair stand up. He used his incredible natural speed to throw himself in front of the lightning bolts en route to the academy building. He then used his fingers to redirect the lightning using his raiton chakra. This would force the bolts of lightning to slam into a distant mountainside out of harm's way. The rocks would fall and land in a distant empty area.

Perhaps the officer had forgotten the lightning produced by these things was par for the course. It was still somewhat a nuisance however to ensure all the natural lightning chakra it was producing and attracted proved to be somewhat haphazard. 'Crisis' averted, but this was going to continue happening and perhaps deeper consideration how to handle it may be kept to mind. Truth be told though, with Kenshin's pre-prepatory after the fact maybe he'd have realized that nobody would have been in any inherent danger. He did after all direct all foot traffic away from the placement point. If anyone was in danger of getting injured it was the Captain himself.

Hiroki really should have challenged his charge to a race. Might have given him some peace while he dawdled along. He never was the most creative, though. No doubt Maeko was bouncing along beside him, offering insights as to the finer points of the gunbai or some other overly excited screed. Not that he'd know, since he was doing his best to pretend he was listening even as they navigated their way to one of the training areas in the dojo. He lead the way into one of the arbitrarily designed spaces, and pointed at another door. "You can find some scrolls over there for training. Or we can just do the spar thing." He said as he fiddled with his katana again, moving it to his hip. Maybe he should have left it on his back. It was a bit more awkward to draw from the hip after all. Quite the conundrum.
[ Just a heads up that Hiroki's stats will change when we start the spar, because I have a large previous training post I've yet to put on his profile. ]
{D-rank Formless Dodge Used } A gigantic blue streak shoots through the sky and strike the ground like an attack made from the heavens itself. The ground trembled beneath Unki. Light through the mist was exaggerated through the haze. She had no idea what was happening and found it necessary to put an end to the spar and prepare to take some sort of initiative for her opponents' well being. Without taking the too many steps to move out of the way, Unki suddenly exhales a jet of hot air, above Mako's head, which whislted upon use. The noise was surely strong enough to stir attention of the lower ranks. The jet forms a cloud of heat that began to diffuse the cloud of mist. The environment was probably a little like a summer storm for a few moments with moisture, heat, and lightning. The surge ended, however, sooner than Unki expected it to last. She wasn't completely sure why or what this all was but something was off to her. The fog began to fade and Unki could finally see both Sheva and Mako. "That's probably where we should stop." Unki said, at last, with her hands raised in front of her. She waves her arms side to side, crossing them in a X-like fashion, "I don't know what that was and frankly I don't want us risking being toasted over a graduation exam. If there's anything I leanred from this is that for the future, the two of you have the potential to really make something as a duo. I don't know who that made that mist but if not for that flash- I am STILL seeing specks- then I don't know how anyone could have communicated anything through to the other." Unki pauses to blink a few more times, she could be seen staring off into space as her sights follow the obnoixous tinted spots in her vision. "Anyway. Big Blue follow me," She said pointing at Mako and then pointed at Sheva. "And the first rule about swimming in the water is swim with a buddy, so you can very well follow us too. I'll need to know your name too since you didn't share that with me yet." This was Unki trying to recover from something bizarre and then that something turning out to be nothing. There is this look about her that seems almost flustered however calm. She stopped pointing and went to put her knuckle in her mouth. The other hand collected her weapons and waved the student and genin along to follow.

Dexterity: Striking : Rank A: Training: ...the user employs image training to figure out ways to fully utilize the offensive possibilities of a two stick weapon combo. Maeko had reverted back to her quiet demeanor after they left the office. She was sticking close to the pink haired guy. Maeko listened to him already starting to head towards the scroll room. "Would you mind helping me look for some specifics. And possibly with some training, before we spar?" She asked him, giving a soft smile. She went ahead and pulled the gunbai from her back, sat it against a wall and pulled off her cloak. Leaving her in her baggy pants, her belt pouch and that armored leather tunic, her arms exposed.

Hiroki kinda froze. He felt a sensation, like a chill running over his body. This was the worst possible outcome. Honestly, he'd expected a spar, which he'd probably lose, and then a nap in a corner or something roughly equivalent. But this girl wanted some kind of direction. "Errr... I'm maybe not the right person to ask about that." He said sheepishly. "I'm basically as green as they come. You should probably find someone who's actually good at this stuff to teach you. I guess it depends on what you want." The last thing the Uchiha needed was to teach someone something wrong and then have people breathing down his neck. If he didn't think there was a chance the creepy squid might come after him if he shirked this assignment, he'd have dumped Maeko here and headed off to find a roof to chill on or something. Instead he was standing here metaphorically flopping around like a fish out of water.
