Of course her stroll to the orphanage would be ruined by Arashi attacking the village. Panic and fear were in the village streets as Emiko would help the ninja funnel them all into safety. The academy students her age would be crying, some holding onto their teacher her parents for safety as they would pour down the street. A frown was present on the normally smiling face of the genin. There weren't any reports on deaths just yet but knowing Arashi...Let's just say that Emi had a lot more to worry about than just the civilians. It seemed like war was closing in faster and faster. A limping woman would struggled to walk as the child hurried over. "I-I can help! Hold on, please!" Her hands fell over the leg as she made the require hand seals to heal the leg's wound the best she could. After finishing EMiko sent the person away and would look back the way she had come, rushing over there to see what she could do.
She arrived on the scene just in time to see a person (woman?) in dark who was glancing around as if unsure of herself. Emiko didn't blame her, as she could have been in the same situation had it not been for her duties. She hoped that Yoshiro was okay. "H-Hey!" she called out to the veil wearing person. "Are you hurt? I'm a healer!"

Gathering up essentials, helping pack, guiding children out of the house. There was panic of course, but Shuu was doing his best to keep them calm. The worst were the little kids who just didnβt understand. At least two kept trying to play with the new βonii-sanβ rather than follow their parents to safety. Thankfully, Shuu had managed to get them moving by making a few funny faces and they were on their way to shelter without a care in the world. The parentβs harried thanks had been heartwarming to be honest. He may be a student, but he was helping. Making a difference. Taking a moment he surveyed the village; though the villagers were in a panic, Shuu could see no destruction, no enemies. It seemed that the shinobi of Uzushio had things well in hand. At the rate the evacuation was going, it was very likely that even if an enemy made it deeper into the village: the civilians would be safe.
Turning, Shuusui saw genin helping with the evacuation as well.βAbout time.βhe muttered. After all, it shouldnβt be an academy studentβs job. Shuusui was just reckless like that. Chuckling at his self-admonishment he went down the street to find more people to help when he saw Plague. She wasnβt wearing her lab coat, but there she was looking flustered and even panickedβ¦ Shuu felt a sense of apprehension at seeing her. Primarily because she didnβt seem well, secondarily because it was very likely that he was the cause. Just before she was about to make her mind up to go back to the Academy and wait, Plague heard a young girl's voice calling out. She didn't recognize the voice right off the bat, but as she turned to see who it was Plague almost had to look away and look again. The girl running up to her had red hair almost the same shade of Shuusui. If she didn't know any better Plague would have mistaken her for Shuusui's sister. Plague raised a gloved hand in hopes to ease the girl's worry and to slow her down a bit too. As she did this Plague unhooked her book from her belt and opened it up to where she had previously left. Taking up her pencil as well, while regaining her usual emotionless look on her face, she pointed to her last question. 'Have you seen Shuusui?' with her pencil.
However, over the girl's shoulder Plague spotted the rusty head of hair she had been looking for. Though it didn't show on her face a sense of relief washed over her. A barely noticeable sag in her shoulders was all that portrayed this. She closed her book, quietly lowering it back to her side, and shook her head slightly. Indicating to the girl that her question didn't matter now. Lifting her pencil up, however she pointed over her shoulder to Shuusui. Plague took a step past the girl and closer to her childhood friend, but didn't want to just leave helpful girl behind. She had been worried for her sake and as a fellow medic Plague didn't just want to ignore her completely. She reopened her book, writing down 'I'm sorry for causing you to worry.' she showed her work to the girl with a small apologetic bow.
With her worry and stress gone now that she could see Shuusui all she felt now was the strong urge to give him such a pinch. She looked back at him and motioned for him to come to them instead. She had been shuffled into a basement, ran around with village like a lost child, all to look for Shuusui who was playing hooky. Truthfully she didn't mind that he ditched the Academy as often as he did, but in case of emergency even he should have none better than to ignore orders. If he had gotten injured she had no way of helping him out. She felt personally responsible for his own health as a medic after all. As she waited for Shuusui to join them, Plague merely stared at him. Silently.

Emiko came running up to the girl in all black...person...thing/ She stopped in front of her and would leave a trail of her long crimson locks behind her. "Wew. Sorry. Do you need-" She was interrupted by the message that the person had written in pencil. Without any emotion she pointed to a simple phrase. One that made Emi worry even more.
Have you seen Shuusui?
"Shuusui?" The name didn't sound too familiar. She pursed her lips in thought and would bring a hand to her chin before shaking her head apologetically. "I don't think I have, no. I don't know anyone by that and-" Huh? What was she shaking her head for now? A finger from her pointed her towards...Oh no! Her one true weakness! A shonen looking guy! Ah, he was just like in one of her manga! The gir-person apologized though Emiko didn't register it completely and watched as the man in question was motioned to come forward. Were they partners? Siblings?...Lovers? Not that she would judge or anything!

He recognized that look, the longer he made her wait. The madder sheβd be. Not wanting that, Shuu headed towards Plague and theβ¦ genin? that seemed to be accompanying her. He noted the geninβs crimson red hair, a trait typically associated with the Uzumaki, but Shuu didnβt recognize the girl as one of his clansmen. Perhaps the color was coincidental?βDid I make you worry?βhe asked. Before she could reply he lifted his hands in defenseβI know standard protocol is to go to the academy. But I was here when the warning bells struck. I figured I could do some good before running off to hide. Still, Iβm sorry Plague-chan.β
Turning to the genin, Shuu gave her a short bow. It was likely that Plague had grabbed one of the shinobiβs guarding the academy to draw their attention to his not being there. They likely sent Plague escorted by the genin to bring him back while more trained individuals went to fight off the attack.βThank you for escorting Plague, genin-san. I hope that we haven't been too much trouble for you.βOf course, she had escorted Plague. Plague wouldnβt have done something silly like sneak out from safety just to find him right? The thought actually amused Shuu. If that, by some quirk of fate was true, then Shuu would have some ammunition with which to defend himself from Plague's wrath.

From the corner of her eye Plague could see the girl become a little...excited, perhaps, to seeing Shuusui. Plague couldn't see why herself, other than the fact that he was uninjured at first glance, there was no reason to feel like that. Perhaps it was just the feeling of seeing another red head. Or somesuch. Whatever the reason for the girl's reaction was of no concern to Plague. Not as Shuusui finally decided to approach them. She had not failed to notice the wince either. She merely kept her gaze on him as he started speaking. Did he make her worry? Well that was silly question. She had half a mind to seriously pinch him at that, but she remained as calm as ever on the outside. After all it sounded like he had an actual excuse for why he had not arrived at the Academy like the rest of the students had been ushered into doing. She couldn't exactly blame or punish him for wanting to help the citizens. If she had known beforehand what had been going on she possibly would have done the same.
She said nothing as Shuusui turned to the third member of their group now. And the smallest twitch of her fingers was the only indication of a momentary tensing in Plague. She hadn't stopped to think that, maybe just maybe, asking someone who was a genin or higher rank could have found Shuusui a lot quicker. After all she had sneaked out of the Academy in the Uzukage's presence of all people. Perhaps that little tidbit of information could be forgotten about for the moment. Plague opened her book to a clean sheet and for a moment paused to think about what she had to say. She didn't like lying or making others lie for her. There was no way she could ask this genin to help her like that. They didn't even know each others names for starters.
Her pencil continued to over her book until finally she found the right words to exactly expressive herself to Shuusui. Writing them down she tugged on his sleeve to gain his attention. Showing her book to him it read 'My coat has been sacrificed.' Her favorite white lab coat had been a present from her father. As he had worked in a lab creating medicine for others she had taken a liking to the coat which resembled what her missing father used to wear. No matter how out of fashion it had been. This at least gave her time before he realized that she had went out without permission. She let Shuusui deal with that information as she began to write in the book once again. This time she held it for the girl to see. 'Can you escourt us back to the Academy?' was all it read. Hopefully if she was about to get into trouble the presence of the genin might lesson the punishment a little bit.

The two students here talked to each other as Emiko would watch on for a bit. The (handsome) shonen guy would apologize for worrying the girl Emi's age and then focus back on her. After a bow, Emiko smiled and rubbed the back of her head. It was a nice gesture, though it probably didn't really benefit her any seeing as how she was still just a Genin. "N-Not at all! Plague was nice. Can she talk? I was just asking since she writes in a book and all." It was a strange behavior but Emiko wouldn't judge.
"Oh, I'm Emiko by the way! Everyone just calls me Emi though. Nice to meet you, Shuu." The introduction was a bit awkward but he did have a point. Academy students like them shouldn't be out here like this. Hell, maybe Emi herself should stay inside. "Well..." The child huffed. She wanted to go get some learning out of the way and the academy was probably filled to the brim! It was her duty to watch out for the lower ranks though. With another puff of her cheeks she gave a nod. "Sure. I'll get you two back to the academy safe and sound!~" On that note, she lead the two back towards the academy unless stopped.

Emiko quickly decided that she should indeed escort them back to the academy. Shuusui followed along and allowed his mind to wander as they made their way to the academy.
It was odd to see a red-head that wasnβt connected to the Uzumaki clan, but that didnβt mean too much. After all, it wasnβt as if the Uzumaki had a sole claim on the color. Though to be fair, several clans hadβ¦ strong familial resemblances amongst themselves. From Aburame to Uzumaki, it really was odd. Perhaps something akin to a kekkei genkai without it actually presenting as such? The groundwork leading up to one perhaps. Maybe something to ask Plagueβs father.
With that in mind, he remembered what Plague had told him. Turning to her, some guilt on his face he added,βIβm sorry about your jacket. A young man could be seen sitting on the roof of one of the many high rise buildings in the residential area. He looked over towards the general area of the academy and lightly sighed. Clenching his hands he thought to himself, "I need to get stronger." Taking a deep breath he cleared his mind of the negative thoughts before focusing his chakra to his right hand. Strands of black metal started to form until a finger sized piece appeared, but Takezo wasn't satisfied with just that. He continued focusing until a tekko appeared over the hand and forearm. With beads of sweat appearing on his forehead Takezo kept his training going and after a while, a kunai slowly formed in his palm. The young man breathed in a sigh of relief as he took the first step towards mastering his bloodline.

Takezo looked down at the kunai in his hand and grinned like an idiot. He threw it into the ground beside him before looking at the tekko on his arm. Thinking about something for a moment he looked down at the tekko and focused his chakra to it. After a while, a blade made of black steel formed off of the tekko. Takezo then punched down towards the ground and after the blade pierced it, it broke off from the tekko. The young man proceeded to do a series of hand signs before placing his hands on the ground and a wall of black steel rose ten feet in front of him. He looked at the wall and smiled before doing a finger gun towards the wall with his right hand which caused the tekko on his arm to condense down to a drill like bullet to form and be launched at the wall.

Takezo walked towards the wall and saw a pit in the wall from where the bullet hit. He placed his hand on the wall and let his chakra flow into it, adding more black steel to fix the crater that had formed. After a brief moment of doing that the wall looked good as new. Takezo now felt like he had a decent grasp on his steel release so he now wanted to learn the techniques from his other bloodline. He went back to where he was initially sitting before grabbing a scroll with the Uzumaki clan's symbol on it. Opening the scroll he read the techniques inscribed on it before closing it back up and placing it back on the ground. The young man proceeded to do a series of hand signs before chains of chakra appeared around him. He pointed at the wall and the chains wrapped around it and then the wall and the chains disappeared. Keeping with the training momentum he kneeled down and slapped the ground, which caused a seal to appear where his hand just was. After a moment a mass of chakra chains rushed out from the seal and wrapped around a tree before Takezo released the jutsu causing them to disappear. Feeling like he was done for the moment he started to walk down the stairs so he could go to the dojo.

Lohner sat a distance from his younger brother, and watched as Takezo began his work. The thin black sheen of steel garnered a raised eyebrow from the elder Uzumaki brother as he focused on their rooftop garden. Leaves fluttered on the wind as he attempted the first time to manipulate anything in the garden. Ever present in his mind, however, were the teachings of his father. Seals, diagrams, the unrelenting knowledge of a man prepared for a beast that may never come, a rampant tailed beast.
Lohner refocused on the garden after Takezo startled him, his attentions to the Black steel seemed to pay off in faster regard than the study of Mokuton. He mused for a moment at the consideration that his team left him over an inability to focus, to call on his own blood. As quick as the thought came, it perished, while Lohner was one to question the value of the world, he was arrogant and rarely doubted his own skill. When his focus returned the garden bloomed in full, leaving Lohner with a worn smile.

As Takezo fired a bullet into the wall, the crack unsettled Lohner for a moment before he adjusted his outfit accordingly and stepped up. A two-handed sign and he grew a small javelin from his hand which he pitched at high speed, a path of roses trailed its wake. Where it landed a facsimile of Lohner crawled from within the lance.
As Lohner looked between the garden and the active practice, he considered the irony of his situation, and how a year of therapy and waiting for an answer had given him nothing. Yet today as he practiced for the first in a long while, it felt right in his hands.
As he collected his thoughts he took a knee and pressed his palm to the roof tiles, a series of chains leapt from their surface and clung to the clones arms and legs. The clone dispelled, crumbling into leaves and bark as Lohner figured out the best course of action to take in furthering his training.

Plague simply looked between the two red heads as the young girl mentioned that she was 'nice'. Plague rarely got any comments such as those. It was mostly her own fault for how she dressed and her personal vow of silence. She often gave off the wrong first impressions, so it was refreshing to hear a simple 'nice' for once. Her head moved ever so slightly to Shuu however. His interpretation was not far from the truth. In a sense Plague did feel that her creepy appearance was a good tactic to use. Everyone had a fear of something after all. The fear of the unknown, like Plague, was a common one. '...the notebook?' Plague quickly looked down at her book. Under her veil, unknown to the others, her face was pure confusion. It was one thing to not speak out loud, but another to not speak in any form. She had picked up writing in the book just to appease others, but had found she liked writing in it. Her shoulders slumped a little in realization that Shuu was right.
The moment the young lady asked Shuu if Plague could talk however made Plague almost wish to answer herself. For a moment she considered it. A brief, little moment to simply say 'yes'. But the moment passed as Emiko introduced herself. Plague merely gave her a nod to acknowledge her. Plague was starting to feel a bit antsy however, being out in the streets for so long. When Emiko started to move off down the street back towards the academy Plague was only too happy to follow. She glanced back at Shuu as he apologized for her coat. She did nothing to really acknowledge the apology at first as the coat did mean a great deal to her. Having not seen or really heard of her parents for four or so years Plague was rather clingy to anything they had left behind. Including the dated white lab coat. Inhaling rather deeply Plague simply sighed. She couldn't exactly hold it against him for what happened. It was her own fault after all. She quickly jotted down "It's okay." and showed it to Shuu as they walked back to the academy.

He smirked to himself and stretched, his shoulders and knees flexed and relaxed to allow easier movement. His hands clasped together and he brushed dirt and debris from his earlier show off of them before he took a long sprint along the rooftop and leapt across to the opposite side of the street.

As he landed on the opposing, lower, rooftop Lohner took the shock harder than he expected and pushed forward. The man tossed himself from roof to roof and his body slowly adjusted to the shock of repeated landings. When he circled back to his original location, after a climb and another leap over the road, Lohner somersaulted into a another dead sprint.

Whirlwind Training Somersault
At full tilt Lohner carried himself to the edge of his roof and leapt to the next house, he kicked himself over in the air and smashed down on a tile overhang. As his feet touched down on the tiles he flipped himself over and launched back in the opposite direction. The landing squared him with his planters. The fluidity of the motion left him surprised and entirely without control.

Kickflip Switchblade
When he landed Lohner flattened his body and slid overtop the table between the plants, eyes focused ahead. The first thing ahead of him that garnered his attention was a flagpole flying the banner of his clan. As he came off of the table he bounced to his feet and grabbed hold of the pole, rounded it, and planted his foot into the wall beside the top floor entrance to their home.
When he rebounded and settled, Lohner cast his eyes to his hands and clasped his left hand into a fist. As he did, a series of chains surrounded in an auburn mist erupted from the small of his back and shoulders, they arched backward then focused forward toward a single target. Lohner's eyes narrowed on the singular pot and his hands formed a single seal, holding it together as a wooden flower sprouted into existence. A second seal came together as the flower closed on itself, which formed a ring of thorns pointed into the center.

Lohner drew back one of the chains and vaulted it into the center of the wooden flower, a myriad of splinters showered the rooftop in return. As one chain faded from his back the man raised his arm and his hand sprouted into a three pronged shield that defended him from the stray shards. His eyes settled on the roots of the plant which shifted then spiked from the pot as he called upon his gifts and he sighed.
"Perhaps this isn't the best place for me to practice, after all." He lamented, looking around to the mess he made of the rooftops.

As Lohner made his way down into the house he passed his elder sister's room and gave the door a rough knock as he continued down the hall.
"Nanami, beauty sleep is one thing, but you're letting the day fast get away from you. You'll be an old crone if you keep it up." He chided.
"I'm headed to the arena, if you want to join me, sleepy."
