"We didn't steal them. Some crazy girl came in here and said she was ordered to give us out exams and then gave us these headbands and took off that way." Sumiko pointed at the trail of destruction that Sumika had left as she exited. While she could have said more, there were benefits to being a new genin, such as the ability to play dumb when the moment required it. "Is there anything you think we should do first as Genin, Chie-sensei?"
(weak post is weak, but I don't wanna hold up shena.)
Modifiers: • Double Sealing: At body rank D and C costs are reduced by five [5]. At body rank B and A, costs are reduced by ten [10]. Finally at body rank S and S+ costs are reduced by fifteen [15] These reductions DO NOT stack and override their previous totals (D+C -5, B+A -10, S beyond -15). • Double Sealing Class: Learn 2 extra Ninjutsu per post • The Uzumaki learn 1 extra Ninjutsu per post. • The Uzumaki have deep chakra pools: +60 Chakra or +60 Stamina. • The Uzumaki have great life force, reducing effects of all sapping jutsu to one-quarter their normal effects. • No restrictions on Fuuin, other than normal ninjutsu learning limits and rank learning limits. Personal Attributes: • Overwhelming Presence: Sumiko possess vast reserves of natural chakra inside her body. +100 Chakra. • Soft Hands: Sumiko has really soft hands and prefers not to fight in CQC, allowing her to trade Buki and Tai style slots for 10 Nin/Gen slots (These can be split between the two, it isn't all or nothing). • Do As I Command: Sumiko has moved beyond needing even single handseals to preform Fuuin and Uzumaki Techniques. Only simple motions and gestures are required, but stronger techniques require more full body motions.
Jun was tracing the tattoo lines along Ezra's body. He was entirely decorated. It was fascinating, seeing the ink stretch with his skin as he bent and readied himself for some physical actions. Jun reached up and grabbed the mess of hair on her head, putting it up with a hair tie. Some of it still fell free despite her efforts. A few new students poured in and took up practicing as well.
Everyone was to select a projectile to train with, so they could at least understand the basics of this kind of hand-eye coordination. Jun let everyone else pick first and the pointiest, most dangerous weapons went in almost an instant. She looked at what was left and let her fingers dance along the handle of a slingshot. It was a simple device, a y-shaped wooden frame with a tight band of rubber wound around the two prongs. It had a small pouch that could hold a little projectile. Jun picked up one of the metal balls next to it and grabbed the slingshot with her right hand. Slowly she loaded it and gave it a test tug. The rubber slipped from her fingers and the ball bounced right out of the pouch and landed on the floor before rolling away from her. Again she tried, this time keeping the tension tight and bringing the slingshot to eye level. Jun aimed at the target and released. The small ball flew through the air and smacked a target 10 yards away from her. It wasn't dead center, but at least she actually hit the board. Jun kept practicing the motions for awhile longer.
Taking a second to focus and think on what you were doing was instrumental to picking a means of attack that actually made sense. Jun took a knee and stared down the target that swayed back and forth. It was suspended from the ceiling with a rope, merely pushed hard once and maintaining momentum. She tracked it with her eyes and took a quick shot, nailing the target with her slingshot.
Jun got distracted. She was now sitting on the ground with her legs crossed, arms out behind her to keep her from falling backward. Another student was tossing projectiles left and right, directly hitting each bulls-eye. He was swift and accurate. Jun watched him hard, learning from his technique. First he took aim at all the targets and one after the other let his weapons fly. Jun rose to her feet and did the same, hitting three targets one after the other.

→ Inception: With Genjutsu, realism and the sensory ability of the target factor heavily into the ability of the victim to realize they are in a genjutsu. With practice and discipline, the shinobi may select one [1] genjutsu Sense that may be added as a Secondary sense to any technique, as well as choose one Sense of Choice that will forever cost one [1] rank less in cost as long as the casted genjutsu's primary sense is the chosen sense. Once these two [2] choices are made, they cannot be switched, so choose wisely. [Sound] []
→ Resolution: You are more determined to get fine details from your sensory techniques, but in order to get this type of clarity the range of your techniques is reduced by half. You are able to discover the type of technique that is about to be active (Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, etc.), even specifics such as Bloodline type and rank. At body ranks D and C users of this discipline able to sense their enemy’s ninjutsu attacks and their composition, which grants a -1 rank deduction to dodging with the dodge mechanic X-ranked skill if you know the technique that was used. This only works for techniques which originate within the sensory area of the user.
• Hard physical = Stability, Blocking, and Striking. This encompasses all aspects of close-range unarmed combat that either directly damage the opponent or are based on physical strength.
• Soft Mental: Stopping, kneeling, and performing focused, critical thinking for any number of posts will gift the user a boost to a single known Formless Style, for as many posts as the user focuses. The buff increases per post, starting at a slight boost on the first post, then moving to mildly on the second, then moderately, heavily, greatly, and finally supremely after 6 posts. Higher ranks of training in this Style increase maximum rank of the bonus by one, starting with a mild boost at D-Rank. Cannot stack with the Hard Mental style.
Chie raised an eyebrow. Sumika of all people came in to deliver headbands to genin? That seemed highly unlikely. Still though, it wasn't impossible. She did have a sister like relationship to the leader of Uzushiogakure. She sighed at the idea of that wild child giving these kids an exam. She was almost certain that it was something haphazardous which must have certainly put the children in some sort of peril. If anything, the fact that these two kids survived whatever trial Sumika saw fit clearly showed their potential as shinobi. Chie nodded and smiled. "Well, if you two are genin, then you're no longer my responsibility." She said with her head turned dramatically away from the two new ninja. "However..." She said while stilling looking away. "I suppose I can still teach you some techniques. I am, after all, a master of ninjutsu." She said with a wicked smile as her head turned back to them. "Just let me know what you guys need to learn. Once we do some training, I can ask you guys to do some favors for me." She said. After all, it was a mission to to the task of a higher up within the village. She hoped that she could use her status just a little bit to help these kids get ahead of the game.
_______________ ≎Out Of Context≎ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Please take a second to look at Chie's profile and find out what techniques you want to learn. We should be able to get all of the learn a jutsu and find a mentor missions done at the same time, which should equate to 7 D-ranked missions. After that I can then just keep assigning you missions so that you can cash in on that mission and the, "Higher Up’s Request" mission.
PassiveEffects: _☆ Korabo S-ranked ___○ Able to use Korabo up to A-ranked with herself. _☆ Electric Resistance Training ___○ Negates harm from own lightning ninjutsu _☆ Ninjutsu Alchemy ___○ This technique allows Chie to passively Korabo two jutsu together. The limitations of this are as such. First of all, the technique works passively only up to one rank below Chie's current Korabo level. This means that if Chie's Korabo level is A-ranked then it can only be used at a B-ranked potential, which means that Chie can only Korabo two B-ranked techniques to use the korabo skill at A-ranked. This assures that this benefit does not allow the user to passively perform techniques one rank higher than they can usually. Second of all, this technique only applies when Chie korabo's with herself. If she korabos with an ally or a clone then this benefit is non-applicable. Finally, an additional charge of 10 chakra per rank of the final product technique is required to be paid. So if the user Korabo two B-ranked techniques, (the user must also pay for each individual skill), then the final technique would be an A-ranked skill, and thus would cost 50 more chakra to perform this way. Overall this technique's only purpose is to make Chie more cool by utilizing all of her elements and having them combine into super cool ways like a wizard should. _☆ Hidden Mist Vision ___○ Sees clearly during hidden mist technique, or mist in general. _☆ Fire Resistance Training ___○ Negates harm from own fire ninjutsu _☆ True Belief ___○ The user has meditated and trained long enough in this monk art to understand how important true belief is. By understanding the power of the spirit over the mind, and the mind over the body, the user has increased their stamina by sheer will power alone, as well as increased their toughness and durability. Increases Stamina by +25 for every style mastered. _☆ Enlightenment ___○ Meditation and spiritual exploration and understand yields interesting results. Due to the greater understanding of the self, the user is more aware of the connection between their mind, body and spirit, and how to utilize that connection. The user is now slightly more skilled at just about everything. Striking, blocking, moving, absorbing, and taking damage. The user's strength and fortitude is increased heavily. _☆ Impact Resistance ___○ The user acclimates to using the cestus in a battle setting by pounding away at a training dummy with the cestus. By analyzing the feedback of different forms of strikes, the user finds a way to minimize any damage they may take from their own strikes. Upon completing this training, the user suffers no recoil damage from techniques from any non-Rigorous Taijutsu or Bukijutsu Style up to either the highest trained rank in this Style or the highest trained rank in the Hard Physical Formless Style, whichever is lower, and does not suffer damage from striking anything harder than their fists. _☆ Focal Point ___○ The user meditates through combat, taking time to narrow their focus to their Chakra pathways. In so doing, they become innately aware of when they are being observed in combat, and can pinpoint the locations of anyone below their rank observing them within one meter. _☆ Thread Walking ___○ By using Chakra to focus the mind, the user becomes able to balance enough on thin platforms to use Bukijutsu techniques without any penalties. Covers only balancing on solid structures at least one inch wide, not moving or unstable structures. Also allows the user to balance and move on wires during its activation. _☆ Advanced Thread Walking ___○ he user is now able to both run and fight while balancing on threads and wires without penalties, though doing these things at the same time is widely regarded as infeasible. _☆ Blessed Rain ___○ The user's informed of the incoming costs of what is to come, and as such, must practice their chakra control through controlled bursts from various parts of their body. Their chakra pool is increased by +35. _☆ Insight Rain ___○ The user will practice extending themselves into the atmosphere, in a sense. After much dedication, the user develops the ability to sense hostile intent in the immediate area. As to where, however, they cannot be sure. _☆ Torrential Blessings ___○ Having completed all that the user may learn, they have but one task left to complete: the user must practice controlling the flow of chakra, and be sure that their control is the finest that it can be. By doing so, they must repeat the exercise performed earlier with Blessed Rain, all the while, they perform technique to the brink of exhaustion. This training receives no reductions. Chakra pool is increased by +65. _☆ The Task of the Next Generation ___○ Upon the master of the school of Shigure Souen Ryu, it's the user's responsibility to develop the next generation! The user is granted one [1] custom slot usable only for a personal Shigure Souen technique.
WRENxxxxxSENJU Once the pair was safely away from the ensuing chaos in the previous classroom, Wren quickly got to work on learning more of his clan's techniques not wanting to fall behind his partner who had already started on his own training. Thankfully, Mr. Autolearn conveniently had a handy-dandy scroll of secret senju clan techniques ready for Wren. Now in possession of said scroll, the young boy quickly got to work learning the basics.
First up was Mokuton: Sashiki no Jutsu [ Wood Release: Cutting Technique ], a fairly simple technique from the sounds of it. After reviewing the hand seals and method of chakra control, Wren set out to put it all into action. Slowly, Wren completed each hand seal and pushed his chakra through his arms and into his palm. As the chakra molded itself into being, a long wooded pole emerged from Wrens palm, falling flatly to the floor with a loud clatter. [1/3]
The next technique was Wood Release: Wood Spikes Ring, a simple capture technique that would possibly have a multitude of uses. Once again, Wren studied the proper forms and put them into action, targeting the pole on the floor. Once the appropriate hand seals were completed, the pole warped into a semi-circle as spines erupted from its surface. [2/3]
Last but not least was the Moku Bunshin no Jutsu [ Wood Clone Technique ], perhaps the most complex of the three techniques Wren set out to learn; complicated may not have been the right phrase, however. After a few quick seals, Wren reproduced the original clone jutsu taught to him by Chie, this time the wood on the floor near the boy began to warp and change shape, quickly assuming a human form. After a few more seconds, the clone changed coloration to perfectly mimic Wren. [3/3]
with these techniques completed, Wren turned to phase the others in the room, waiting for further instruction
"Temper temper. Hammer it home." "Temper temper. Hammer it home."
Koutetsu decided to focus on the Suiton jutsu first, partly because he was somewhat more familiar with Doton, but mostly because he was still wet from Autolearn-sensei's jutsu. Channeling his chakra through his extremities, he gathered the water from his clothing and drew it out til it rested before him. "Mizu Soujuu," he said as the jutsu took effect.
Koutetsu reached out with his chakra into the water and began to nudge certain areas, figuratively hammering it into the shape of a blade. "Mizu Yaiba," he stated, as he tested the odd weight of the water sword with a few fluid movements. he moved over to the pool of water and let the blade and jutsu go so as not to leave a mess on the floor.
Moving onto Doton, Koutetsu placed his hands on the ground. Closing his eyes, he sent his chakra through the earth reaching about five feet away before anchoring it. As though there was a pulley where he had anchored it, Koutetsu moved his chakra in a tread like motion just beneath the surface. The earth darkened as it rumbled forward faster and faster, churning the ground in front of him, "Tsuchi Tou Tou."
"Forge the weapon worth wielding." "Forge the weapon worth wielding."
Releasing the technique, He thought for a moment about what he had left to practice. Tsuchi Gunjikoudou no Jutsu [ Earth Military Movement Technique ] and Ayatsuito no Jutsu [ String Reeling Technique ] are left. I need a string for the last one. Where did I leave the one used on me? Noticing the string still hanging above where he had fallen, Koutetsu realised it was a few yards away. Not a terrible distance to travel by any means, but given that he had a traveling technique to learn, he figured he might as well try and use it. Clasping his hands together, he pushed his chakra into the ground below him, steadily sinking until he was underground. He moved swiftly, trying to remain conscious of distance and direction. Rising up, he found himself just below the wire. "Tsuchi Gunjikoudou no Jutsu."
Having successfully performed the last Doton, all that was left was Ayatsuito no Jutsu. Reaching up he grasped the wire and with a gentle tug, pulled it free. Charging the wire with Chakra, he tossed it back up to a support beam, watching as it wrapped around. Pulling tight, he made sure that it could support his weight by hanging from it briefly. "Ayatsuito not Jutsu," he muttered to himself, "I'll have to remember that one."

These techniques maintain the same description and criteria to use and require the same amount of time to mold the chakra through the weapon as would be needed to perform hand seals, meaning the techniques are not instantaneously cast. They also cannot be molded during another attack, meaning you cannot be swinging a sword and using this discipline to charge a ninjutsu at the same time. You also gain 2 extra ninjutsu slots per rank. Second Class: Worker ____Balanced Master: → This discipline mimics one of the user's other class's non-chosen disciplines. (i.e. non-Worker Class) The Double Specialization perk for said class is not available for gaining. If the character is Double Worker Class, they may choose one discipline from any other class. Ayatsuito no Jutsu [ String Reeling Technique ] Rank: X (Learned as E) Official Description: Ayatsuito no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing wire. This string can be used in rappelling, or as a method to tie down and restrict the movement of an opponent. The Uchiha clan also utilizes the wire in their Sharingan Soufuusha Sannotachi technique. The wire allows the clan member to pin down an opponent, and then unleash a torrent of fire upon them. Guild Description: See official description. This technique increases the strength of a wire or rope being used, allowing it to support greater weights or keep others from escaping easily. The wire or rope is infused with chakra, and a technique of equal rank or higher must be used to break it. If the user is in contact with the wire, they can pay an upkeep cost of half the original rank, to a minimum of five [5] chakra to maintain it past the first post. Without physical contact, the technique ends after three [3] posts.

Tsuchi Gunjikoudou no Jutsu [ Earth Military Movement Technique ] | Rank E This jutsu allows the user to enter the ground and "swim" in it for a limited time. A shinobi simply has to dive into the ground for this jutsu to activate, allowing them to swim around at their leisure for one [1] post. The user may pay the original amount as upkeep to keep the jutsu going after the first post.

Tsuchi Tou Tou [ Swift Earth ] | Rank X ( Learned as E ) When performing this jutsu the shinobi places their hands on the ground and causes it to move rapidly away as if it were a conveyor belt. As the shinobi increases in skill and rank the width and range of this technique is also capable of increasing. This technique starts at a five foot by five foot square directly ahead of the user, and increases in both dimensions by five feet for each rank higher.

Mizu Soujuu [ Water Manipulation ] Rank: X [learned as E] Official Description: This involves learning basic manipulation of the properties of water. Boiling, and pressurization of water are included in these studies. Boiling includes the creation of steam by further putting chakra into the water. The user cannot perform these tasks on larger bodies of water with this basic study alone. Furthermore, by learning to draw water from the moisture in the air, the shinobi can use water techniques without requiring a source of water nearby (unless stated otherwise.) A Kage level jutsu always requires a water source, even if the Mist-nin in question creates it first. Guild Description: In this technique, X determines the amount of water to be created. At E-rank, about a gallon of water is gathered, and the amount quadruples with each rank after, capping out at about one-thousand [1000] gallons at S rank [enough to fill a small pool]. Learning this technique also reduces the cost of Formless manipulation by five [5] chakra, to a minimum of five [5].

As the user's control improves, he can manipulate the shape and size he/she wants the sword to have, from a tiny dagger to a massive decapitator sword. At the minimum requirements, the sword has minimal offensive power, able to make slight cuts and tears in the flesh of an opponent, and susceptible to high pressure (an opponent breaking the blade with a weapon of his own). E-Rank: The sword can be up to the size of a wakizashi, and is fragile, breaking under the pressure of weapon strikes against it. D-Rank: The sword can be up to the size of a katana, and is now as strong as a normal, metal blade. C-Rank: The sword can be up to the size of a nodachi, and now cuts with the edge of a finely crafted blade. B-Rank: The sword can be up to the size of a cleaver sword, and is now incredibly durable and lethal. Guild Description: See official description. Requires an upkeep of half the original cost to continue after the first post, to a minimum of five [5] chakra.

Chie truly was a master of ninjutsu -- her repertoire was vast, and so Shinsei knew that it was still a great opportunity to be learning in her presence. Knowing that, he immediately nodded, and voiced a silent 'thank you' to her for persisting in educating them, despite their preemptive graduation. The shinobi then mulled over a list of Doton techniques that Chie was aware of, and glanced to Sumiko.
"Okay, Chie-sensei," the Senju started, "I think I'm ready. I'd like to learn... the Light Weight Rock Technique, the Mud Weights technique, the Double Suicide Decapitation technique, and the Mud River technique," he stated. Then, observing Chie for guidance, he began to learn the jutsu.
- - -
Before training came meditation. Shinsei observed the words on the scrolls and focused on Chie's instructions, allowing them to flow into his thoughts. He kept his mind hollow of conflicting notions and stilled his unruly ambitions. His hands pressed together, forming a focused control over his chakra. He could feel it swelling within him, much more fluidly and controlled than before. Only just before coming to the Academy, he had done the same, and had failed then -- but not now.
He kept his eyes in a sort of paralysis, observing a sort of nothingness, sleepily. His lips were slightly agape as he focused on the feeling brewing within. He began to let it... grow, like a seed. Like Mokuton, his craft. It swelled and stirred, and as he made gestures, he could feel it stir only more. His thoughts remained focused on the weight of chakra within his body; the balance it bore. He imagined through the lens of a Hyuuga, with their tenketsu, seeing and touching the points and vents. It was a complex structure, powerful yet easily broken if miniscule components within ceased in functioning.
He had to be sure to always protect his chakra points -- and to utilize his chakra with a balanced flow. Shinsei was geared almost wholly around his Mokuton . . . but even with his reduced expenditures, he needed to be safe. [Simple Training: Meditation Complete]
Now, he could feel the energy moving through his body. It left a tingling sensation through his muscles and veins as he guided it to one limb or the next, creating jutsu with his somatic gestures. Shinsei clapped his hands together, shutting his eyes as he focused on drawing chakra to his palms, through his biceps and forearms. Small pillars of wood rose from the ground around him, then twisted and formed impressive shapes, bending to form a small cage around his body. His eyes were still shut - he was manipulating the wood, shaping it, with feeling alone. The meditation had already done well for him.
But now, he needed to focus on building his chakra. It was more than just... learning to weave techniques with feeling alone. He needed to be able to do more, create more, be more efficient. As the branches weaved around him, he attempted to grow them. Increase their scope and size -- be more effective with his chakra, and even feed its growth by reflecting that same tendency within and of himself. He could not be certain that it would work, but he tried nonetheless. And in truth, he did feel a shift - a growth, a change - that was perhaps not even sensible. It was an odd shift within his mind and body, a feeling of development that came only with progress.
Perhaps, for now, he was done. [Simple Training: Meditation Complete]
With Chie's guidance, he began to learn the four Doton techniques. Being that she was his guide and they were presently in an Academy, he knew it would not take long. He began with the mud techniques; of course, knowing that things were about to get very messy, and he didn't want to clean any more classrooms. Knowing that, he decided to create the mud within a confined space in the yard, and he reduced the amount of mud generated from the nearby earth. Clapping his palms together, Shinsei formed a slide of mud, before attempting to return the earth back to its normal state. [Mud Weights, Mud River, Light Weight Rock Technique Learned] [Basic Training: Performance In Progress]
Then, he stomped the ground with the sole of his sandal, and burrowed into it. He re-appeared outside, his hand sticking out of the ground and attempting to grab onto a helpless, frolicking puppy that just so happened to be passing by. Once he grabbed onto the puppy, he lodged it into the ground, only for the animal to speed dig out of its predicament, bark a few times and continue on its merry way. [Double Suicide Decapitation Learned] [Basic Training: Performance Complete]
Next, came Mokuton. Despite not being in a 'residential' area or learning from another Senju, the craft of creating wood with his body and chakra was one that came naturally to him. Making clones, shields and even large, burrowing roots did not bear significant difficulty on them. Forming the jutsu with a dramatic clap of his hands, he created three techniques. [Moku Bunshin no Jutsu [ Wood Clone Technique ], Wood Release: Threefolded Wood Shield, Wood Release: Underground Roots Technique learned] [Basic Training: Performance In Progress]
He began to learn some more advanced Mokuton, starting with the World of Trees Wall. Stomping his foot against the soil, he crafted a large defense of roots, surging rapidly up from the ground only to form a thick barricade that would block any advancing techniques from coming through. Similar roots then also rose up before that one, the Smothering Binding Technique. [Jukai Heki [ World of Trees Wall ] C, Mokuton: Mokusatsu Shibari no Jutsu [ Wood Release: Smothering Binding Technique ] C, Mokuton: Henge [ Wood Release: Transformation ] C - Learned] [Performance Still in Progress]
Finally, he learned a custom technique that he had been creating in solitude back at home, in the compound. The technique was known as the Militant Flower Defense, or Sento Hana no Boei. He would create a defense - an exceptionally sturdy wooden flower all around him, guarding him at all angles. Then, after the flower took the brunt of a technique, he would exit either by manipulating it or melding through the wood, before the flower would be thrown on a stringy root at the target, hoping to crush them. He performed this theory in practice, and was successful in doing so. [Militant Flower Defense [戦闘花の防衛] Sentō Hana no Bōei, X, Learned] [Basic Training: Performance Complete]
Next, he would learn some Fuuinjutsu. The most important aspect - for him - would be storing items into scrolls, and then releasing them, at least until he gained a proper summoning companion. To start, he would need to learn the Enclosing Technique, and the Unsealing Technique. The two techniques seemed simple enough in theory; he held a scroll and held a kunai over it, before a quick flicker of chakra bound the kunai into the scroll. Then, upon slapping his palm against the scroll with chakra laced upon his fingertips, it was released. [Fūnyū no Jutsu [ Enclosing Technique ] and Kaifū no Jutsu [ Unsealing Technique ] Learned]
What came next was the Body Flicker technique, a Maruton jutsu considered to be highly useful for evading lethal attacks or moving around the battlefield. It was - in particular - good for escaping, at least according to his father's words. Shinsei did not obsess too frantically over honor, and thus had no vices that held him back from the concept of fleeing if he was incapable of winning. Slapping his palms together and letting chakra flow around his body, he quickly disappeared with the imagery of an overgrowth of twisted vines covering his body, before re-appearing further out in what appeared to be an instant. That was... cool. [Shunshin no Jutsu [ Body Flicker Technique ] and Korabo Kuchiyose no Jutsu [ Collaborative Summoning Technique ] Learned]
Learning virtually all that he had to learn at the Academy, Shinsei glanced to Chie and bowed gratefully. "Chie," he started, "I promise I'll do some favors for you. First, let me run to the Dojo - I need to stop falling behind on Taijutsu and Bukijutsu!" he stated, before body flickering to the Dojo, narrowly evading her bestial rage.
It seemed that Chie wasn't all too upset that someone else had given them their exam, which was definitely a relief. Whats more, she had even decided to continue helping Shinsei and herself to train and master higher level techniques before sending them off. "Thank you very much Chie-sensei. I would really llike to learn the Body Flicker technique, the Raiton Burst Technique, as well as the two basic sealing techniques. I already know the basic seals, but I feel like I need to practice them more." Sumiko then pulled out a scrap of paper and began taking notes as Chie started to teach and instruct her on how to use the techniques.
-------
Sumiko stared down at her notes, rereading them over and over again. The techniques were mainly elemental, and weren't something that she had really attempted before. She knew that her own chakra natures were Suiton and Raiton, but she had never really attempted to use those natures. Sitting on the floor, Sumiko closed her eyes and began to call on her chakra. Ever since she had become a gennin, she could feel so much more power under her skin. The chakra came quickly when she called it, and in far greater quantities than when she was a student. It felt like her own chakra supply had more than tripled, maybe even more than quadrupled. It took time to get used to the new found reserves of power. Instead of needing to summon up her chakra, Sumiko found the challenge was only calling up what she needed. She now had more than enough chakra to learn any jutsu she wanted though.
Relaxing, Sumiko focused on only calling up a small amount of chakra. This sliver was all that would be needed for most techniques. She did find it was hard to just call on that small amount. It was as if she needed to build a gate and limit the floodwaters of chakra from coming out. Clearing her mind, Sumiko focused on restricting that flow and directing it through out her own body. The last thing she needed was to waste chakra on a smaller technique. [Simple Training: Meditation x1]
Sumiko could feel the restricted flow of chakra coursing through her body now. Just like a muscle, the more she practiced with controlling her chakra, the easier it became for her to manage. The flow was now almost at a trickle, a mere fraction of her total chakra reserve, but enough to preform any of the basic techniques she had learned at the Academy, such as the clone or transformation techniques. Slowly, like turning a valve, Sumiko began to increase the flow of charka through-out her body. She forced the flow into the furthest reaches of her body before sucking it back into her reserves, enjoying the ebb and flow of her own energy pool as it did. It was a euphoric feeling to her. The warmth of the energy directly beneath her skin giving her goosebumps and causing her to shiver for a moment. It pulsated and shifted as she moved it across her body before she finally pulled it all back into her reserves. Then, all at once, Sumiko forced all of her chakra through her network, like a raging torrent of water. Anyone watching her too closely would have noticed a slight shimmer as she was sending her chakra throughout her body, rippling across the air around her. Then, for the last time, Sumiko slowly began to turn the imaginary valve on her own chakra, restricting it slowly to its original trickle before opening her eyes. Sweat lined her brow, and body ached from sitting on the floor so long but her chakra was ready and begging to be used. [Simple Training: Meditate x1]
Sumiko unglued herself from the floor, stretching as she stood. It was finally time to learn her first higher ranked technique. Chie had given her a pretty detailed breakdown, so Sumiko was confident that she could get it done with little effort. The technique was the body flicker technique, useful for making a quick getaway or moving yourself to a better position in combat. Sumiko looked down at her notes, studying the handseal and how Chie described the usage of chakra involved. Stuffing her notes back into her pocket, Sumiko placed her hands together into the handseal required and began to concentrate on the far side of the classroom. The idea she assumed, was to disappear from where she was and appear there in an instant, hence the flicker. Summoning up her chakra, Sumiko felt a rush of air around her body as she appeared on the far side of the room, looking back at sheets of paper and smoke where she had been standing only a moment before. [Shunshin - Body Flicker Learned, Simple Training: Performancex1, Find a Mentor x1, Learn a Jutsu x1]
Next on the list was Sumiko's first Raiton technique. The technique was the Raiton Burst Technique, which seemed mainly designed to get other Shinobi to let go of you in a pinch. Pulling out her crumpled notes from her pocket, Sumiko read over the instructions that Chie had given her on how to preform the technique and reread them several times. It seemed that she was just supposed to force chakra out of every point on her body all at once to shock anyone unfortunate enough to be touching or really close to her. Sumiko formed the handseals quickly and all at once forced chakra out of every point in her body, causing lightning to arc across her body, creating a loud humming noise in the room. A tingling sensation raced across Sumiko's skin and her hair started to stand on edge for a moment before she released the jutsu. For a few brief moments, lighting still crackled around her before the last bits of residual charge wore off. Sumiko walked over to one of the few desks in the building that hadn't been used as a projectile or cut in half by over zealous students and pulled out a blank scroll and a set of ink pens. She already knew the basics of making a seal, but Chie had been kind enough to show her better, more efficient ways of making them. Sumiko slowly drew out the symbols on the paper, being sure not to smudge the ink or copy the wrong character. She did this on several black scrolls, dropping various kunai into each of them for later usage. It also had the added benefit of making her own pack much lighter than it was before, as all of her metal tools were now in paper. To test that her seals had worked, Sumiko picked a random scroll and placed it before herself. She poured her chakra into the seal and a shuriken flew out, almost hitting her in the face as it flew up to the ceiling, where it remained for several, several years. Satisfied with her work for the day, Sumiko picked up her much lighter backpack and charged out the door behind Shinsei. "Be back later Chie-sensei. Please don't kill us." -exit-

Just when Sumiko thought she'd ditched him, Shinsei body flickered to the Academy and bowed before Chie, appearing in what appeared to be a flash. "Chie-sensei," he spoke, "Sumiko and I have improved a great deal. I think you'll find that we work very well together," he said. Then, pressing his palms together, he offered the woman a demonstration; a Wooden Dragon peered in through the window, massive in scope, bearing an elephantine face and a mischievous grin. It was almost as if alive -- one of Shinsei's proud creations, though still umber and foul in appearance. "But -- I wanted to leave the village to do some more training, and maybe acquire a Kuchiyose, but... I wasn't allowed to. So... I guess it's up to you what we can do next."
Almost as if she had been summoned forth from the twisting nether like some kind of underworldly demon, Sumiko also flickered into the Academy. "Shinsei just wanted to gamble away all his Ryo in the casino in the nearby town, don't listen to him make up nonsense about training outside the village." Sumiko would then bow at the waist, point to Shinsei. "Punish him sensei."
The two students would find Chie along the side of her building. There was spray painted on the side of the academy the large words, "Ninjas sux". Chie was in absolute despair about this. It was undoubtedly a result of the incident regarding Kyomei and Sadayo. There was now a cause of doubt as to the authority of the shinobi. When the two approached her, she did not notice them initially. However, when Sumiko mentioned that punishment should be involved, Chie turned around and smiled wildly. "I absolutely agree!" She said with furious righteousness. "The punks who soil the good name of the shinobi should be punished." Her arms folded in front of her as she nodded to her own statement. "Find the punks who plastered this graffiti and punish them. Not with death of course, but enough so that they know that shinobi are just ninja." Chie smiled as she walked away from the scene. She then looked back at the graffiti and sighed. "Right after you two clean it up, however." She said as she awaited them to take care of this mess.

The shinobi glanced to his companion, as she regaled their teacher a tale of how he'd left Chie so abruptly only to gamble away his fortune and then lie to his educator. His glance became an obnoxiously visible roll of the eyes upon learning that Chie 'agreed' with Sumiko's assertion, the shinobi intent on making it clear that he was far from that type of individual. He parted his lips to speak, only for the woman to interrupt the flow of the conversation to introduce a new element. She referred to graffiti, and asked that other people be punished for making it. Shinsei, upon stepping to view the obstructive material, raised a brow.
"Ninjas sux," it read. The Senju laughed, awkwardly. It was uncommon of him to do so. "Uh -- that's surprising. Can't believe someone would risk martial action merely to write 'ninjas sux' in barely legible form. Alright, well. I guess we can punish them," he said. And... clean up Graffiti. How he adored cleaning. "Right," he said, beneath his breath. "This'll be easy."
After cleaning half of the Academy so thoroughly, Shinsei had become something of a master of cleaning. He drew his breath and exhaled, flicking his wrists as a gesture before a funnel of water escaped from his mouth, spraying down the graffiti with ever-increasing force, the colors distorting as they poured down the edge of the building, only to be quickly washed away by the shinobi's stream of water. He wondered why Chie didn't just clean it herself, but he supposed relegating menial tasks was her job.
It probably worked for most shinobi -- making them feel useful. Giving them a sense of duty, and pride. For him, well, it was a job. He would get paid Ryo, and he would progress to the next stage of advancement. That was good enough.
By the time he'd finished contemplating the labor, the job was complete. The graffiti had been removed. "Right," he said, wiping his lips as water seemed to almost drool down his chin and jaw. The Senju glanced once more to Sumiko, and boded her to lead them to their next task: bringing down the 'culprits'.
"Sumiko," he whispered, "You have any way of finding them? I'm poor at the whole tracking thing."
WRENxxxxxSENJU Wren watched over Koutetsu, taking a break from his own training to watch his fellow student's. Training was important, but Wren's current task was to monitor this kid... for whatever reason; it would be best to avoid getting distracted with reading scrolls or whatever the jutsus entailed. Still, a part of Wren held doubts as to the necessity of his mission. Koutetsu seemed like a good guy; was him fleeing from detention really such a big concern that Wren needed to be there? Taking a seat in a nearby empty desk, Wren rested his head on his hand and watched the boy continue to train.
ᑃKya arrived in the training grounds feeling particularly powerful after having been officially made the contract holder of the serpents. The red lines trailing down her cheeks looked particularly vibrant as she focused her chakra and sharingan both into the crafting of yet another attack. Another replacement for the more mundane attacks of the Sharingan's amateratsu. This one would require just as much focus as it would actual training. With the time she was taking crafting this technique, she had no doubt in her mind that it would be powerful. She exhaled, deep and hard, as the points of blindness were subtracted. The sting meant little to her at this point. She was, essentially, a bi monthly regular at the hospital to have it fixed anyway. A smaller than intended zone suddenly was warped in space and removed. Kya stood among a dark zone of her own creation. Inside of it, she was no more in control than in her own Kamui, but it still was an easy way to isolate, trap, and remove a target without having a wildfire spread out over an entire area. As she let everything come back, she would replicate it without having to waste the blindness. Instead, she simply weaved the seals for the fire. Normal fire, black fire, amateratsu... it didn't make much a difference for training. She was trying to create something like a falling flame ball. Goukakyou wasn't sufficient but nothing else really worked. Maybe dragon fire release song. And then it occurred to her... she had her own version of katon jutsu. The technique she had learned when last she was here? That could work. As a result of that, she had mastered a new jutsu of her own creation. Now to sit and wait for something to happen.

The breath of wind passing through the Academy exterior passed him by. He stepped away from the wall, only moments ago touched by someone's rebellious art, now cleansed by the meager lips of water. As Shinsei stepped forward, and the wind fell lightly upon his back, he felt a strange shifting occur around him - so unfamiliar was the movement that he could feel anxiety building inside, and his thoughts shutting down from full cognition; instead, the frantic, worrying part of his human psyche called out to him, biding him to turn tail and leave.
Reality shifted. Their world became nothing, for a moment, and then everything, and then something in the middle; it confided in the touch of another world, mirrored and mixed, and then merged. A woman touched down, staring absently and almost with nonchalance. As if nothing she witnessed, before her now, bore any meaning.
She seemed in thought. Shinsei, too, was in thought . . . quietly observing her as she quietly observed the images that projected from her mind. With a single step forward, he spoke, in what would first appear to be a quiet whisper . . . before being propelled by wonder. "Are you..." Shinsei called out, softly at first, "another one of those vagabonds, come to disturb the students? There seems to be so many - popping up, one after the next. I wonder from where they all came." He spoke almost in rhetoric - an answer that, possibly, she did not possess.
