UniKorn Tiger I've been on the Depo for 5 years now I am on it for the first time. I get my second shot at the end of August. I will do anything to not get periods... or to get them only every few months. LOL

Floof Wolf My *regular* periods are SUPER heavy and last for a week crying Mine too. Bad periods run in my family sad . Both my paternal Aunts have had to have hystorectomies because of their periods... so I am probably doomed to follow on that path as well. But even a week long heavy period is better than a 3 week long super heavy period! And Uni: Do you still have periods at all on Depo? If so, the I wouldn't worry, if not, then it actually might suck if you ever stop taking it.

Then what it does is prevent the ovum from ripening and the uterine lining from developing so there isn't anything to shed.

Well, I didn't get on my pills till after I had Logan. Which I am happy because I have a 21 day cycle versus the normal 28 one as it is, and very heavy flows. I still don't like being on anything altering, but I'm not sure what else to do though when the time comes.

Yeah, I got rather hysterical because I woke up and thought "I feel sticky...why do I feel sticky?" and I peeled back my covers to see blood...lots and lots of blood. It was at that point that my mother decided that *maybe* I wasn't having normal irregular periods after all and it was time to get me to a doctor. Prior to that I had 14 day periods and then about 10 days off. I haven't come off the pill since.

LadyElla64 *Awkwardly looms*....I still have mine regularly. xd Mine has always been irregular. Sometimes not coming for up to six months at a time. I don't know why I went out and bought a home pregnancy test... Because I wouldn't have known I was pregnant until my fifth month.

*hops in with a funny story, laughing thinking about it*
I got my period for the first time in the dead of winter, and I was so afraid to go to school... I walk and I thought my pad would freeze to me.

I don't know why I went out and bought a home pregnancy test... Because I wouldn't have known I was pregnant until my fifth month. The only time mine has ever been irregular was during my first year. I got it for the first time and it didn't come again for four more months. And I was more than grateful for that; my first time had been hell. There were no cramps or anything, but blood EVERYWHERE. I had only put a tiny liner on, since I didn't have anything else, didn't know how much would come, and was too embarassed to tell my mom, so it bled through rather quickly. I went to my summer camp as usual and tried to sit everything out to hide the fact that my pants were covered in blood. Thankfully I had worn a fairly long T-shirt. By the end of the day, my nylon pants were ruined and, in an attempt to stop the bloodflow, I had sat on my shoe, and that had spackles of blood on there too. As SOON as I got home I asked my mom for a pad. xd

Oh, I know about that *was on Depo for about a year* 3nodding . I was wondering if Uni is still having periods or not. She was saying that she's been on it for 5 years now, and I was telling her about how when I first got off Depo, i had a 3 week long super heavy period from hell from all the period junk that had built up while I was on Depo.

I got my first one when I was in grade 7. My sister, parents and I went out "mushroom huntung" and I got it. I was so embarassed that I didn't tell anyone and tried to hide the used napkins from mom by burying them in the bathroom garbage. She found out though >_>
My mom got hers just after she wiped ou on her bicycle. She was riding a boys bike and the bar rammed her. She thought that was why she was bleeding. When grandma found out, apparently she was all "my little girl has become a woman!!!" and other embarassing things.

I got my first period the very next day after my 13th birthday. No one really made a big deal of it, and I just was like 'Eh.' My grandma just took me to the store and got me some pads and that was about it.
