((OOC: Yeah...it is long. My guy echoes himself, I just noticed that. ha ha.))

Spike smiled. "If that is what you wish miss, I will make you a bed outside," he said. He looked at Jessica. "Is there something wrong, miss?"

His voice was uncharacteristically soft, yet sharp as well. No longer was the joking smooth voice of the Hatter. There was something strange about this girl. She was sensitive about herself, hesitant and such. As if she were trying to keep some secret. Then again, he was keeping secrets as well...

Keme decided Spike was awsome. "Do you mean the Mad Hatter as in from 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland'?" Keme loved to read and even though that book came out after her original death, she had chosen to look up what books were considered classics and that book had caught her attention. Keme was sitting hooked up to the terminal and going through the list of books the computer had givin her. When Keme saw the name of the book she remebered, all in a flash it seemed, the uptown girl named Alice. Alice had golden locks and loved adventures and the two girls were best friends. Their families didn't get along much though but this didn't stop the girls from playing with each other

Jessica smiled back at the Mad Hatter, making a mental note of the change of tone in his voice. She wondered if she was doing anything wring, or weird. "Oh, no, I'm fine sleeping on the ground; but if there's enough room I'll find a corner to sleep in. And..." She giggled softly "Call me Jessica, or Jess if you wish; just no more of this 'miss' stuff. It makes me feel rude that I'm not calling you 'Sir Spike' or something."

By habit now, she checked to make sure her hood was on right. It was, of course, but it made her paranoid that there wasn't a better way to hide her ears. She adjusted the bottom of her sweatshirt too; her little cottontail was still hidden as well. Good. At Keme's mention of the book, Jessica chuckled silently to herself, thinking, Hmph, and I must be the white rabbit's second cousin.

"No, I'm afraid it isn't Mad Hatter of Wonderland. I tilt much more towards the Angel Mad Hatter," Spike replied. "The Fallen Angel, Belial."

He turned toward Jessica. "Really...well, if the Miss Jess asks me to do so, I suppose I must," he said. "Are you sure? I am sure I have enough room..."

"Oh," Keme said looking at Spike strangely, he didn't seem like a fallen angel then again things aren't much like they use to be. keme walked into Spike's home and looked around it followed by the docter

Fallen Angel, Mad Hatter; strange names but so far a sweet guy... Jessica thought. She didn't mind having him around, and she liked the way he said her name with his strange accent. "Thanks, I will come inside, for now." She said, smiling at him still.
I feel...Safe...
Immediately the thought alarmed her; she shouldn't feel safe so soon. She laughed in her head, pointing out the flaws in her own mind. Grimm the gunslinger over there, and these newcomers, Keme and Hoerwick. Alia was okay though, she seemed...less dangerous. But there was a warmth and a chaos in Spike's red eyes, and Jessica found it difficult to stop looking at him.
Finally she looked away and walked inside. She leaned against a wall so she could see the entire group.
Hmph... Safe... What was I thinking?

((Sorry I've been away so long! I've been very busy.))

Aila curled up in a corner, hugging her bag and watching the commotion around her. A small tear slid down her cheek. Why am I crying? she asked herself. I should be happy to be able to sleep in a warm house for the night. I am happy. That was true enough. But something seemed to be wrong, something seemed to be missing.

I wish I were at home. My real home, she realized, slipping into a daydream. And Nona and Darren and Emily and I would all be sitting by the fire in the living room on the huge rug Nona made. We'd each be wrapped in one of the quilts she made for us and we'd be telling stories to eachother. And little Addie would be giggling with delight as she was bounced up and down on Nona's lap...

Another tear slithered down Aila's cheek as she remembered that it would never happen. Never again. Her house had been burnt to the ground, taking Nona and baby Addie with it. Darren and Emily had survived the fire, but both had died during the journey to find a better home; Darren of Leukemia and Emily - Emily had left Aila one day in search of more food and never returned.

((It's okay 3nodding ))

Keme found a place with the docter to sit, she wanted her things back from Grimm but at the moment she was in need of a minor maintance check. Keme was about to sit down next to Hoerwick when she saw Aila in the corner... she was cry? Keme had emotion but crying was something she remebered faintly, along with other things that were once taken for granted. Keme walked over to Aila and pulled out a small, and surprisingly undirted, piece of cloth and offered it to her to dry her eyes

Aila forced a sheepish smile, embarassed, and wiped the tear off her cheek with her hand. "Thanks anyway," she mumbled, not bothering to take the cloth. She hated crying in front of people, especially when she got any sort of attention for it.

Sarah saw the ragged creature attempt an escape and squeezed the trigger on her shotgun.

"BANG!"

Sarah looked down at her gun and saw her finger still squeezing the trigger, but did not fully pull it back. She then realized the shot came from behind her. There stood Rick, gun raised in the direction of the creature as he pulled off another shot. Winking at Sarah, he smiled and held the gun to fire as the creature moved, Sarah taking no hesitation in raising her shotgun to follow suit.

Aila winced as she heard the loud bang of a gunshot not too far off. She curled up even more tightly into her little corner, though she knew perfectly well the gunshot would not effect her.

Keme knew she would have to gain the trust of others and sighed walking back over to Hoerwick. The gunshot didn't bother her at all, sitting down without flinching, "Docter..." Keme whispered to him so the others wouldn't hear, "I think I need some minor adjustments..." Keme moved behind Hoerwick out of the view of the others in the room

Jess stared among her companions, gradually sliding down the wall and sitting on the floor. Aila was crying, but Keme helped her with that. Maybe she's someone I can trust after all... I hope so. There was a gunshot not too far away, and Jessica went to cover her sensitive ears, but put her hands back down when she realized that covering the top of her head looked funny. Whoops... She said to herself, embarrassed. I hope no one saw that. Keme was now behind Hoerwick, and Jessica wondered what she was doing. Hmmm... Secrets, unknowns, fear... Maybe these people are more like me than I think.

Keme waited till she was sure no one could see her before pulling up her right pant leg. Strapped to her leg was a small tool kit comprised of various tools used on her type on bio-mech suit. Keme pulled open the top flap and picked a small, slim tool with a blue glowing tip, "This should do the trick," thinking to herself before pulling her shirt up. Where on a normal human skin would cover her stomach and chest on Keme that wasn't the case, she used the small tool to adjust one of the curcuits that allowed movement loosening it before checking another system

BANE awoke in a shroud of darkness. In the pitch black, it shot up slamming into the covers on the dumpster. The light blinded 117X as it emerged into the world once more. As it recovered its senses, it began to move out of the alleyway into the main street of the city once more. BANE hoped that the human pursuers had finally gone and left it in peace.
