Were they her friends, now? She hadn't known them for very long - but no one had known each other very long at all. As far as Estel was concerned, they might as well be her friends. "They probably are. I really wouldn't be surprised."
She'd been keeping an eye on the door, and neither of them had shown up in here. She wasn't sure if that meant they were uninjured and staying out of trouble or if that meant they were dead. She hoped it was the former.

Yeah, Eldrid knew about that issue coming in - a few of the bodies that had been taken out were riddled with the sickness, and made the whole situation a smidge grimmer.
"It's not a nice way to go." He murmured to the two working, as he worked on the knights that he could get to, frowning a bit and turning to them. "It's a shame it can't be recognized before the inevitable, though." He finished, going to stand up after his second patient he could help was feeling a little better.

The first one he came to next was already dead when he got there. There wasn't much he could do for dysentery with what he had, anyway, but it was still upsetting. With not much time to think about it, Ridon moved on. More people needed saving. More people needed healing.
The violet apprentice hurried off, disinfecting and cauterizing another stomach wound. This one wasn't super bad, clearly just a spear through the side, but he still set the person on fire once. Whooops.
The final patient was burned. Disinfected and then doused in water. It seemed odd to not... you know, bandage the wound but clearly that wasn't the practice here. Keep the burn from getting worse and move on.

This time, Ridon was more patient. He made his way around the room, collecting bindings (though he really didn't need anymore), another thing of tinder, a bottle of water, and one more bottle of alcohol. He was at least trying to keep some round evenness between his supplies, but clearly everything else was in high demand. Bindings not so much.

Round three of healing was about the same as the last. His first patient was suffering from severe blood loss. Somehow this meant he needed to cauterize the wound and then dose him in water? Or just give him water to drink. Yes, yes just give him the water to drink.
He was unable to help the second, being without anything to set him on fire cauterize the wound. He had to, sadly, leave him to someone else.
The third had a leg infection. Finally something he could use his overwhelming supply of bindings on. He took care of this, and then decided he'd had enough for the time being. Ridon skuttled off, fear kicking in, and hid behind one of the curtains in the great hall. He'd come out eventually.

Here someone might have said hopefully we won't see them here then, but that would have been too naive; and while Jack couldn't remember the how or why he was here, he did know he was one pragmatic b*****d. "Luck be with them, then."
And luck be with them all, really. As he worked on two patients, he sent another way as once again he ran out of water. Maybe he needed to trade off with Estel, as she always seemed to have some on hand...
Someone else piped up, and despite his patients' concerned faces (could we not discuss this while being bandaged up please), he replied, "What could we give them if we could? More water? There's nothing here we could equip ourselves against the disease. The best we can do is prevention: clean work spaces, clean hands, clean wounds." Not that there wasn't some frustration about it in his tone, however.

"Is that where all the water is going?" Elly couldn't help but lighten up with, holding four different bottles of alcohol in the attempts to find water. Perking up, he finally found one, looking over to the two of them as he pocketed another flint. "Given the option, though, I would rather be given a little hope over dying on a stretcher by myself." He figured, sighing a bit as he looked over to the little one as she flopped back, obviously tired.
"Do not over-exert yourself, you're doing very well." He offered up to her, before going to stand near her, crouching down as well as he could and extending a hand lightly. "Eldrid, a pleasure to meet you, both." He offered, before nodding up to the man who was taller than he was.

The last thing he would have done was touch someone who looked as pale as Estel did, but at least Eldrid had that covered for him. "Jack," he said in turn. "That's Estel. Take it easy and call one of us if the feeling worsens."
In the break between patients, he quickly gathered up some more water and returned.
"They're going to need more than a little hope." Jack shrugged. "I prefer focusing on action over encouraging prayers." Which...didn't quite lead to the best of bedside manners, but at least he was doing his job without stop.

Preparations and chaos. That is how things looked and felt to Sherry. She gave herself a few moments to get her bearings straight. Just a few moments for her mind to calm down and catch up with what was happening.
First, supplies. She was very little help without supplies. She turned in a circle once, twice, three whole times before her mind registered that she wasn't actually to far away from the fire. So she started there.
Next she went and grabbed some more water, then some bindings, and finally a thing of alcohol. This...seemed about all she could carry right then. What with her nerves being what they were.

Oliver was slower to get to the great hall, what with the nearly-fainted knight-apprentice he dragged with him, but the instant the other man was dropped to a makeshift bed, he began scavenging for materials. Somehow he knew what to do, and even though being surrounded with the dead and dying and screaming and bleeding was a hell of it’s own, the boy felt more calm than he had outside in the darkness.
Perhaps it was just the scaredy cat inside himself being pacified by the light…
As he finally grabbed up the last of whatever supplies he could carry in his arms, the boy whirled around to return to the wounded knight. He jumped half a foot as his back bumped into someone immediately behind him.
"Ah! S-sorry!" Oliver stammered, nearly dropping everything as he stumbled awkwardly away from the victim. He nearly backed into a bench being dragged past, and turned with a nervous apology to it's carriers as well.
Glancing over to where 'his' knight had been dropped, someone was already tending to his leg wound. The boy let out a relieved breath.

Supplies in hand, Sherry found the nearest injured person. It was hard to tell at first what was wrong, there was so much blood. So much. She should probably do something about that. She did what she could, and while it wasn't pretty, it seemed effective. She left the wounded soul some of the water she'd gathered. "Drink this," she told them. Losing that much blood had to be a bad thing.
One person cared for, Sherry turned to look for another.

She really didn't have to look far for someone to help. Someone else, hands on their head, sat right there next to her, waiting for some aid. Sherry knelt, glad there wasn't much blood. A little, and a very nasty bruise. She wrapped a bandage around the person's head, and gave them some water, too.
"Just take a moment and rest," she told them.
So far, so good. As long as she took it one knight at a time, she could handle this. She wouldn't get overwhelmed. Just one at a time.

THE TOTAL HEALING DONE IS 310
Horace stumbled as another knight-apprentice careened into him. The bottle of alcohol slipped and he juggled the slippy glass from hand to hand before he could safely tuck it away. Quickly, his hand shot out to grab the man's wrist. "Hi, I'm Horace and you've been co-opted to help me." Even in this harried time, he flashed Oliver a grin. That very busy pace was what had given Horace the push to be demanding, to yell out across the place about the way to splint a leg and to drag Oliver along with him. Especially since he couldn't quite find Lawr, anymore.
The first injured knight bled heavily from his head and Horace cleanly it quickly and bound it up before slapping the man on the back and telling him to book it to a bedroom if he needed a lie down. Horace was not exactly the best at bedside manner. The second one was messier, an abdomen slit open by some abhorrent claw. He bled like it was his job and Horace could see that glazed look of giving up. Horace cursed, winding some thread around his arm. "Hold him down!" He cleaned the wound with alcohol, the blood on the table washing down to pool on the floor. His hands were stained with it. Next came flame and the sizzle of flesh as it cooked, cauterizing the wound. And finally, Horace began to stitch up the wound and the knight screamed until his throat was raw.
He left the knight's unconscious, but alive, body on that bit of table, moving on like like an automaton to the next injured person. She was young and not coherent, holding one hand against her head as though she could stop the flow of blood. But the damage was more than done - her skull was fractured, bone piercing into her brain and Horace that maybe, just maybe, if he withdrew the silver lodged there... She seized and, while her blood was still drying on Horace's hands, she died. He braced himself against her table, wheezing, pupils so wide they nearly swallowed the blue of his eyes.
