They were walking towards the Train Station but Lucario still felt an Aura near that he wanted to investigate. He thought for a good second before slipping off. By the time Gio would notice he knew he would have found the Aura. Gio would find him and then they could battle the person whom had the strength to teach Gio a valuable lesson.
Gio arrived at the Train Station and went to speak to his Lucario "Alright Kalos, you ready buddy?" he turned around and looked down the road as if his Lucario was just behind Abit. "Ahh geez where did you go?" he grabbed two Pokeballs off his belt and opened them. Two beams of light shot out and one of them shot to the sky before flying onto a pole while the other started to dance as if music was playing loudly. "Skarmory and Metang, it seems Lucario got a little lost. Help me find him?" his Skarmory Screeched before taking off in the sky beginning to look for the missing Pokemon. Metang began to dance towards an ally way leading away from the Train Station.
They both had started to move before Giovanni really had a chance to register what they were doing. "HOLD UP" he shouted at Metang as the floating Blue Pokemon started to turn a corner. "Gotta run quicker no point in losing any other Pokemon here." he chased the corner before coming up to see what Metang was dancing so eagerly for. Rare Candy's, Metang always danced when Rare Candy's were around. Only Metang wasn't dancing. Instead glowing and pulsing as if getting ready to evolve."Just how many did you eat there bud?" Metang turned around before erupting in a burst of light evolving and revealing a new form."Wow, a-a-a" he stuttered for a moment "A Metagross" he went up to his Pokemon and put his hand on the middle of the "X" on its body. It was cold like frozen metal but felt extremely powerful"I guess all that dancing was good for you"
Metagross cried out before continuing down the ally leading back to the street. Gio still a little shocked shook himself back to reality before giving chase after his newly evolved Pokemon. Lucario couldn't be far, they hadn't traveled very far from the markets. So Skarmory and Metagross were the best options for pursuing the Aura Pokemon.

Despite having gotten her gym badge from Fuchia, Arezu was holding off on challenging the Saffron gym until she'd gotten Sham a bit more training. For now, she was just back at the dojo, training her own body. Or at least she was doing that a few minutes ago. Now she was just drinking from a bottle of water, watching as Hikaru and the master's hitmonlee stepped into position to spar. A line of younger pokemon, all students of the dojo as well, sat along the wall watching as well.
The two pokemon bowed, and then settled into ready stances, hands up. When they started, the hitmonlee immediately began hopping from side to side, staying light on its toes. Hikaru stood solid, pivoting to keep him in her sight. The two had fought enough that they spent little time testing each other's defenses; hitmonlee went for a flurry of kicks that during their first battle might have been fakeouts but now he put his full force into them, knowing the lucario was able to read his aura to tell if an attack was real.
The fight lasted longer than Arezu would have expected, mainly because Hikaru was trying out using her legs more during a fight. Hitmonlee got in a solid kick to her sternum before she finished with a swift counter-attack. Hikaru bowed out to let the others begin sparring, returning to her trainer.
Arezu handed over the bottle of water. "Did you get a bit distracted for a second there?" She hadn't really expected Hikaru to get hit. The lucario, still pouring water into her mouth, answered telepathically. "A little. I thought I felt... something?" Her training had helped her take steps towards controlling the power of her mega form, but she still had trouble with it.
"Want to check it out?" She was still wearing her uniform, but she didn't mind taking a detour before heading back to the pokemon center for a shower. Hikaru nodded, stepping out and into the street while Arezu finished up inside.
Chasing after his Pokemon in the side streets Gio continued on. He wasn't really sure why he was following his Metagross since his Skarmory was trying to tell him they needed to go a different direction. He still continued to Follow Metagross untill they ended up in a dead end and the Psychic Type climbed on a dumpster and started to dance."Well seems you haven't changed as much as I thought" he chuckled before returning the Steel Type to it's ball.
He looked up at his Skarmory seemingly mocking him while perched on a roof near by an old metal staircase connected to the side of a building. "Sorry girl guess I should have trusted your eye" he brushed his thumb to his nose"Come on let's get at then" his Skarmory took off and he followed.
They traced almost all the way back back to where they had begun before the Flying Type went to the main streets. He recognized the path they were going. It was the same path leading up to Sabrina's Gym. Uh oh, Gio thought, the last place he should be heading is to her Gym "You sure we are heading the right way?" he called up to his Bird Pokemon. Skarmory taken aback by the uncertainty swooped down at Gio before letting out a Screech by his ear before returning back to the sky. Gio flinched before grabbing his now ringing ear. "Got it, shouldn't have doubted you" he retorted still rubbing his ear from the ringing.
Finally Skarmory landed on a pole by a sign next door to Sabrina's Gym. His grin started to turn into a jaw drop before he saw why the bird stopped. Before him stood a second Gym except this one seemed more like a Dojo and out front was his Lucario staring at it. "Good job girl I knew I could count on you" Gio said before returning the bird back to her ball.
Giovanni walked up to Aura Pokemon and stood next to him for a minute. "So you want to battle here?" he looked over at his Lucario who now crossed his arms "Well if it's a Gym I'm sure we could take it, come on" he said as he began walking towards the place. However, before he was able to reach the front, a young female stepped out the front door. "Hey you there, what is this place?" he spoke to the girl whom had just appeared before him.

Arezu stared for a long second at the lucario, before looking at the human with him. Trainer? Probably trainer. "Uh. It's the dojo." She rocked back on her heels, thinking maybe she should've put on shoes for this. "You can challenge the master, if you want," she added, getting the feeling that it'd be relevant to these two. It had certainly been what drew her to the place when she first arrived in the city. She could mention the free tyrogue that you'd get if you won, but she didn't like the concept of just giving pokemon away like that, so she wasn't about to advertise it.
"They put up a good fight," Hikaru said as she stepped out the door. She handed Arezu's shoes over with an amused look towards the girl's bare feet. "I am Hikaru, and this is my human Arezu." Arezu eyed the lucario when she heard that phrasing. You're making fun of me, aren't you? Hikaru sent a burst of amusement her way. It roughly translated to, 'yuuuup'.
Since a class had just finished up, a few of the people walked out, some accompanied by their pokemon. One of the pokemon waved and thanked Hikaru for the lesson, but it wasn't like Arezu knew what 'machop chop' meant, unless he was declaring his desire to chop something. "Now is actually probably a good time for it, assuming Hitmonlee isn't too tired." She glanced at Hikaru, who shrugged. "We did not spar too rigorously. I suspect he would be fine with a real battle."

Gio placed his arms behind his head as the young female stared them over. It was a Dojo she proclaimed. She continued by rocking on her feet and telling Gio he could challenge the Master.
Before Gio could finish taking his first step towards the girl a Lucario appeared and spoke letting him know the Dojo put up a good challenge. It always surprised Giovanni when a Lucario spoke just because his never spoke to any human, well ever. He chuckled at the joke the now named Hikaru made at the female whom was named Arezu. Gio swiped a finger across his nose before taking a step forward. "The names Giovanni Versechi" he said before jabbing a thumb back at his Aura Pokemon "And that's my most trusted partner Lucario"
Gio now realized that Arezu had no shoes on, and before he had been wondering why Hikaru handed over a pair of them. But before he could question it a few extra people walked out. Arezu suggested that now was a better time than any assuming a Hitmonlee wasn't that tired. Hikaru responded fairly quickly letting Gio that their sparring session wasn't that vigorous. "Well if it's a Fighting Gym then it would be perfect training for Chuck." he started to convince himself "And it being Kanto the Master can't be that much stronger than Sabrina seeing as she's the recognized Gym"
Giovanni turned around and pointed at his Lucario "Come on let's challenge this place and show it the sure might of Steel nerves" his Lucario finally unfurled his arms and gave a nod. Gio turned back around and shot a cocked grin at Hikaru and Arezu. "You should come with, ya might learn some cool tricks" he said cocky.

"And that's my most trusted partner Lucario." Oof, that made things awkward. Arezu glanced at Hikaru. Was she supposed to say Hikaru was as well? I mean, Arezu would trust her with her life, but that went for most of her pokemon, and Hakuren was basically her brother, and Ai had saved her life, but she was close to Hikaru too and- Hikaru gave an uncharacteristic snort and raised a paw to cover her smile, pretending to cough. "It's okay, I understand," she sent to her poor trainer.
Arezu, cheeks feeling a bit hot, focused back on the new guy and his lucario. "Good to meet you guys. Who's Chuck?" From the way this guy was talking, it sounded like he thought he could take Sabrina in a fight. Or even that he'd already beaten her. Lucario was probably pretty strong then; she'd been looking for good people to battle for training, maybe this Giovanni guy would be a good choice. Maybe he'd want to battle after he challenged the dojo if his team wasn't too tired. Would probably be interesting to watch, anyways.
"I would be interested to watch you fight, thank you," Hikaru said, mostly to Lucario. She seemed to be thinking the same thing as Arezu. Also, she'd leave the sarcastic comments about his 'cool tricks' for after she saw whether they could live up to it or not.
"Yeah, sure. I'll ask Ani to grab the Master," she spoke over her shoulder while leading the way inside without looking, like an idiot. Someone shouted her name. "Wh-" Arezu turned, and all she saw was hitmonchan's back and the widened eyes of hitlonlee, whose foot was currently planted in hitmonchan's stomach.
Hikaru, distracted, couldn't pull Arezu out of the way before the two pokemon barreled into them. Arezu felt herself flying backwards into someone, and then her head hit something hard and she passed out.

Touching down in Saffron City, Lafayette was promptly reminded of how… not quaint a place it was. It was one of the largest cities in Kanto after all and all the looming buildings showed it. Didn’t it even have two gyms or something? Whatever the case, he had to land on the outskirts of the city just to assure Dova didn’t smack into anyone.
Well, at least it was still early. Lafayette started down the streets, pushing his way (rather roughly) through the throngs of people that were hustling and bustling about. You’d have thought the long flight from Kalos to Kanto would’ve cooled his temper some, but the Aussie was still a healthy amount of agitated.
He found his wa to the gym. Or gyms. Honestly, it was kind of dumb to sit two of these things next to one another; especially when only one gave you a badge. Lafayette sighed, turning to a nearby pedestrian and in a rather curt tone, had them identify the correct gym. "Thanks mate."
Did he even have a plan? Nope. But Lafayette had tough as nails pokemon who could bungle their way through almost anything and that’s what he would be counting on. It took a little work to get to Sabrina (again, what was with these trainers and their unusual gym setups? Who had time to waste like that) and challenged her. The sooner he got this over with, the better.
Especially when he found out that it was a psychic gym.

A lengthy battle that had resulted in her loss, Sabrina had to confess: she hadn't envisioned such a future for herself. Still though, the woman took her loss as gracefully as any psychic/gym leader. "Congratulations, you've overcome yet another trial." Not to be confused with the Alolan trials. "For that, the Marsh badge is yours to claim, as well as the TM Psychic," she informed him, and presented such items, and a few more, promptly. "Continue forward. Your journey continues onward." Her words of 'wisdom' passed on, Sabrina gave Lafayette a shallow bow before turning on her heel and leaving the battle box to heal her pokemon.

Lafayette couldn’t help the unamused expression that crossed his face as Sabrina gave her speel. He huffed and snatched his winnings from her rudely, leering at her for just a moment.
"Shuddup sheila," he said without any sort of remorse for his rudeness. He had no time for ‘words of wisdom’ being spouted my supposed mind molesters. He was happy he’d crushed her team with… well, it couldn’t be called ‘no effort’ but it was only slightly as troublesome as he expected.
Did anyone mention that he really. Hated. Psychics?
Juliean was to blame for that, but Lafayette wasn’t here to spend time thinking any more about that individual in an establishment that reminded him of that individual. He shoved his things away in the bag, snapped the badge into its case (with some trouble; he’d figure this one-armed business out eventually) and turned to meander his way back through the exit and to the Pokemon center.
The place was packed by the time he came rolling in, which was rather odd even for a city this size. There were pockets of trainers collective gathered in every little space possible. They all seemed to be some varying levels of worried, scared or concerned as they murmured among each other, but Lafayette couldn’t be bothered to eavesdrop.
That being said, he caught a few words and phrases here and there. Something about pokemon and shadows and some turning evil? Or cruel? Powerful? Weird stuff that sounded like the kind of mumbo-jumbo you’d hear ghost loons preaching about.
Peh.
He pushed his way towards the counter, waiting in line before dispensing his team to Nurse Joy for tending before finding a vacant space on one of the wall sofas and plopping down. His attitude was … well, it was still awful. It hadn’t occurred to him how disappointed he would be returning to the grunt work that Juliean often sent him on. It wasn’t often he actually got to enjoy himself and the sting of losing his arm was still a fresh wound to his already injured.
The world just sucked, didn’t it?
Lafayette sighed and slumped further into his seat. There was no point mulling over the stuff that he couldn’t change. He needed to figure out his next plan of action…

Snap out of it. A voice chimed in the back of his mind. Disappointed or not; damaged ego or not, slouching about and being a pity party was not the Lafayette way. So what if Juliean had ruined his time? The best way to get back, was to punch him with the badge case get it done and leave the man scrambling to find something else for him to do. All the things he had the Aussie doing now were menial and time-consuming; there was no expectation that he would be completing them any time soon. 40 something badges and a zillion pokemon didn’t get caught in a day after all.
And while he wouldn’t be able to put much of a dent in the catching numbers, there was still plenty of time to finish the badges. At least one region, maybe two, would be enough to keep the crazy b*****d distracted with his little experiments and give Lafayette the free time to do… well anything else.
He was just two badges away from completing Kanto. So, he’d finish that. Then move on to the next region; his team was pretty tough at this point so mopping up the remaining early gyms wouldn’t be hard.
Right. He had this. The world was his for the crushing. A wide grin took over his face. With that questionable pep talk rekindling the fire in his belly, Lafayette sat up just in time to hear the ding and the call from the nurse to inform him that his team was healed. Great! He quickly jogged his way up to the counter, retrieving his team and giving a proud "Ooroo!" to the woman before darting outside. He’d need to do some training before he rushed into the next gym battle (much as he felt Noah could probably one-shot it with his type advantage) but that was fine. A quick check of the map showed that the gym was on Cinnabar Islands… plenty of fish to womp and even some abandoned laboratories that he could explore for things to battle. Juliean had practically serenaded him in a boring speel about the place and cloning and other scientific nonsense, but Lafayette couldn’t remember for the life of him what had happened there. And he didn’t rightly care.
He tugged out Nova’s ball and called forth the excited Noivern, who didn’t hesitate to give him a nuzzle like the massive want-to-be puppy she was. For once, he let her get away with it instead of shoving her off, even giving her a rough scratch under the chin. "’Ey thar sheila. Let’s get goin’, yeh?" Lafayette’s grin was still wide as he pulled away, the Noivern giving a trillish roar in delight before kneeling and allowing him to climb up. Right, they could do this. No problem.

Arezu woke up slowly, eyes fluttering and then squinting shut at the fluorescent lights above. She remembered... reaching the top of that tree with Gio, taking in the bright light of it, then... she must have fallen asleep again. Or, woken up, she guessed? She was...inside the dojo?
Sitting up, a small damp cloth fell from her forehead. "Uhhg... m'head.." By her side, she saw Hikaru, then Gio and Lucario next to her. Even as she looked, Hikaru awoke, sitting up as well. "I..guess we're back then." Hikaru grunted agreement, then shook her head as if to clear it.
"Oh hey, you're up! Feeling okay?" Ani padded over, putting his hands on his knees. "Sorry about that little, uh, collision." He chuckled, but there was genuine apology in his voice.
Arezu sighed, stretching. "We're fine, I think. Pretty sure Gio's head is too thick for something like that to hurt, anyways." She turned to look at him, figuring he'd probably wake up soon. She had a feeling Ani would be 'apologizing' soon, in the form of getting Gio a battle with the dojo master. Arezu leaned over Gio a bit. "Hey, you awake?"
Lucario woke up as Arezu spoke. He stood up quickly trying to gather what he could see in the Aura around them. He was still a little hazy, so there was a lot more than he was really comfortable with. He recognized a few of them however. Arezu's, Hikaru's and, embarrassingly still asleep, Gio's. "How could you embarrass me like this" he thought and gave a weak kick into the Trainers exposed ribs.
Gio, who was practically dead to the world while asleep, was woken suddenly by a swift kick to the ribs. He snapped up in anger looking at everyone before finally locking eyes with his Lucario. "Why you gotta kick a man when he's down, eh?" Lucario turned his back to Gio ignoring his comment.
Still a little upset, but not trying to overreact, Gio returned to his normal posture. He didn't want to make a scene so he turned to Arezu and asked "I need a battle, where's that Dojo Master?" he was trying to sound like he wasn't grumpy, but one could hear the temper in voice. Really he just wanted to battle to let loose.

Hikaru wished she'd had more time to look at that tree. She'd been just about on the edge of feeling what Lucario was talking about as she focused in on the odd aura. She'd been needing to train with her finer control, and was frustrated to have been interrupted. Lucario seemed to feel the same way, judging by his aura, and it seemed like he wanted to work it out through a fight. Hikaru didn't pick up on any of the feelings directed at Gio, but even if she had it would've baffled her. She couldn't really understand -not- being in tune with her trainer.
Arezu, meanwhile, grinned at Gio. "That's the first thing you think of, huh? A battle." She rubbed at the back of her head absentmindedly, and winced when she hit the bruise from their earlier collision.
Ani, who had left when he saw Gio starting to wake up, came back with four cold water bottles. Arezu took hers gratefully and pressed it to the back of her head, while Hikaru went ahead and drank half of it. "Hey Ani, Gio here wants a battle with the Master. Think you can hook him up?"
"You sure? Don't want to rest a sec?"
Arezu turned back to Gio. "Ani works here, he teaches classes sometimes. Hikaru does too, for the pokemon." She smirked at the burst of embarrassment she felt from Hikaru when he said that. "He got me a battle when I first showed up." Crazy to think that had been months ago. "Just ah..." Arezu waited until Ani had left to lean over and mumble, "Try not to blow up the dojo. I do train here."
Arezu grinned as she asked him if that was really the first thing on his mind. Gio blinked. "What are you talking about? Should I sue?" he joked not wanting to admit that was in fact the first thing he thought of. Well after the pain in his ribs woke him up.
He hadn't noticed the other guy until Ari returned with water. To which he gladly accepted, knocking the whole thing back. Arezu explained Gio wanted to battle and Ari asked if him if he was sure. "Pffft sure? A Fissure from a No Guard Machamp couldn't hold me back" he retorted before adding "I've got nerves of Steel, so lemme at him"
Lucario was itching for a fight now, so Gio making a challenge was more than enough for him to practically "forgive and forget". Gio came up to him and handed him the bottle and also whispered. "Drink this and learn this TR real quick. Remember how we got the Knuckle Badge?" he winked as he hand washed the top of the Lucario's head. The TR was Psychic. He remembered the Knuckle Badge they beat a hard hitting Makuhita with the move. It was a good idea. He powered it up and used it forgetting Bullet Punch. He started drinking the water given to him and wondering about if Hikaru had been able to feel what he was talking about? He figured he might be able to try and show her in the battle if he could.
By the time he had finished his water he realized Gio was already in the battle. He sent Skarmory out who launched a Brave Bird attack. Which he personally thought would have done it, but the Tyrogue she was up against managed to catch her at the end. Hitting with a tone deafening Counter attack that KO'd the bird almost instantly. His Trainer definitely did not seem happy with that. Gio sent out Empoleon as he promised to "Freeze the Masters Pokemon in place". Too far in the zone, Gio started letting loose a flurry of Blizzards that threw snow and ice all over the building. The penguin knocked out the Tyrogue and froze the Hitmonchan before knocking that one out as well. At that point he felt like enough of the building must be covered in snow, and it was going to take a lot of work to clean up all the ice.
With that Lucario had enough. He jumped forward in front of Empoleon and stuck up his paw as if saying "You've done enough" Giovanni seemed to catch this as he returned Empoleon and let Lucario take over. Gio reached for his Mega Launcher and Lucario Mega Evolved. He loved this form, it helped him concentrate more and focus on his attacks. This was the real test here , he used Laser Focus so he could lock on to precise points of the Aura emitting from the Hitmonlee. The Kicking Pokemon launched a Blaze Kick at him. When it connected Lucario thought about using his own Blaze Kick but he knew what Gio wanted, so he brushed it off.
