Upon hearing a somewhat familiar voice calling for him, Oak glanced up from his desk and stood to seek out Misa, and eventually found the girl wondering around the lab. "Hello young lady." He chuckled warmly. "I believe you called?" He asked, recalling that she had said something about a fossil. "Ah, yes, we do happen to have a fossil revival machine. You almost found it, just in the room to your right. Allow me to help you." He nodded, guiding Misa into the room he had pointed out. "I'll need to know what fossil if is so that I can properly set up the machine." Oak insisted as they walked into the room. "By the way, how is that bulbasaur I gave you? Doing well I hope?" Oak asked, making light conversation as he prepped the machine for Misa's fossil.
Misa jumped on the spot when a familiar person’s voice spoke up. ”P-professor Oak! So you were here!” Misa calmed herself when she saw the Professor heading in her direction. He was quick to pick up on the reason why she arrived at the lab, well it probably had to do with her announcing why she arrived to visit. ”A Fossil Revival Machine?” She didn’t mention anything about a fossil but was the Amber a fossil of sorts? The child followed the Professor into a room that contained a peculiar machine. It wasn’t something she had ever seen before and didn’t recall if that machine was here when she was last here. ”Oh, Bulbasaur is eating well and getting along with the rest of my Pokemon partners….ummm and it evolved...that is...good..right?” Misa wasn’t sure how to respond about her partner but she dug for the Old Amber and handed it to the professor.

Oak chuckled lightly as Misa seemed surprised he was here. "Why yes. I can get fairly busy at times, but I do try to return here as often as possible." He insisted, nodding as Misa repeated the words 'fossil revival machine'. "Yes, a scientist in Cinnabar invented the first one a long time ago. They're still quite rare and expensive to make, but they're standard issue in each region's lab for lucky trainers such as yourself who manage to get their hands on a fossil." He explained before checking in on her bulbasaur, whom Misa reported well on. "Haha, of course it's good. Evolution is a sign of growth, which can only be achieved with a healthy pokemon. Of course some trainers and pokemon choose not to evolve, and that is fine too, but you shouldn't worry about your bulbasaur. Or rather, I suppose it's an ivysaur now then, isn't it?" He smiled, continuing to set up the machine and taking the old amber as Misa handed it to him. "Ah, an old amber! It's been a while since I've seen one of these. So you'll be getting an aerodactyl then." Oak punched in a few numbers and slipped the amber into part of the machine. "Now just put in whatever ball you want your new pokemon to have here, and it will transfer your revived fossil pokemon into that ball, then you should be all set." Oak explained.
”Oh! I’m sorry Professor if I’m taking a lot of time from you. I didn’t mean to take up a lot of your valuable time.” She panicked just a bit while he began to explain the history behind the machine. Was there someone else waiting for their Pokemon? Was there some important research he had to get to? Was she better off if she had done this herself? Misa shook her head as he began to mention Ivysaur’s growth. ”So, does that mean I’ve been raising Ivysaur properly? Is that what evolution means?” The dark clouds in her mind shifted with his positive words. A small sigh of relief was whispered. ”An Aerodactyl?” The name sounded familiar but she was more aware of the Kanto Pokemon that weren’t fossils. There were probably more fossils out there...perhaps in Mt. Moon. ”I’ll use this Pokeball.” The child placed the ball where she was instructed.

Oak gave Misa a warm smile as she worried over taking his time away. "Oh don't you worry. This is just as important as any part of my research." He insisted. "Yes, that's exactly what evolution means. You've both grown stronger since I last saw you. You should be proud!" Oak complimented. "Yes, aerodacytyl. It's a prehistoric pokemon that is both flying and rock type, and one of the only known fossil pokemon with it's own mega stone to boot." He explained, taking Misa's pokeball out of the machine and handing it to her once the machine had finished processing the amber. "Here, I'll let you two get acquainted. Experiencing it for yourself will help you understand better than any of my lectures." Oak insisted, though he paused for a moment before revising his earlier statement. "Erm, not in here, mind you. Please take it outside of the lab before letting it out of the pokeball. Aerodactyl are quire large, and it wouldn't fit well in here." Oak chuckled.
”A-alright Professor, I hope that I can help with your research.” Misa continued to listen in on Oak’s words while gazing at the machine. Yet there was something that he said that sounded odd to her. ’Mega stone? I haven’t heard anything about that…’ She wasn’t sure what that was or how it had any place with her adventures. Misa felt that she should ask but her attention was brought back to the machine. When it was brought to life something was happening with the Amber. It reminded her of evolution as it took shape of a creature unfamiliar to her before being sucked inside the Pokeball. ”Thank you professor!” Misa gingerly accepted the Pokeball, gave a small bow of appreciation and left the lab. {Exit}

It was finally day, and time for Sam to get his very first Pokemon! He was hyped, he was raring, he was itching to go out into the world to explore and find Bug-types! He was ready!
But first, of course, his starter. How could he forget about that?
Knocking trice before entering the lab of his town, Sam waited for a little while before he let himself in. "Hello?" he asked, wanting to be sure he was not intruding. He would hate to be intruding. He saw rows and rows of files, papers of research importance, and other tidbits, but still no Professor Oak. Bummer, wonder if he was out? Sam wondered. And here I have a few freshly made red-bean buns as a gift. It'll grow cold soon.
As Sam called out into the seemingly empty lab, a black haired aide emerged from a hallway in the back to investigate, and upon seeing Sam, she approached, adjusting her wide rimmed glasses farther up onto her nose. "Yes? Do you have an appointment?" The woman inquired, looking down at the clipboard in her hands, searching their schedule and notes for any signs of a visitor at this hour. Sam was a bit older than most of the young trainers that came into the lab to get their starter pokemon, their age often revealed their reason for being here, but Sam's was a bit more difficult without some probing on the aide's part. She brushed her long braid off of her shoulder and grabbed a pen from her lab coat pocket. "May I have your name and reason for visitation?" She asked, clicking the top of the pen to scribble a few notes down, clearly all business.

As Sam was wondering where the professor was, someone else came to greet him, and no it was not the professor, for he had on occasions brought takeouts for him. "Hi there, I'm Sam, and I'm here to see Professor Oak about finally getting my starter and Pokedex," Sam announced his intention cheerfully, for he has nothing to hide. "Oh, and here's some red bean bun for you as well as the good professor. Speaking of which, is he not around?"
Sam.... Sam.... Sam.... The aide had been searching for the name somewhere on her clipboard the moment Sam had mentioned it, however after he mentioned getting his starter and pokedex finally, the aide looked up in surprise. "Oh, my apologies. I didn't realize...." She trailed off, looking over Sam with a touch of confusion. He really was much older than most of the kids coming in these days to start their journey. "Well, better late than never." She said decisively, giving Sam a courteous smile and resting her arms down at her sides. She was mildly surprised again as Sam offered her a bean bun, but raised a hand to decline. "Ah, no thank you. I mustn't, really. I've just eaten not long ago and I just cleaned up. Can't have food contaminating my research." She insisted politely. "I'm sure the professor will want one though." Speaking of which, Sam inquired the whereabouts of the professor, and the aide nodded. "He is in the vicinity, please wait here and allow me to go retrieve him." With that, she turned to move down the hall into the professor's office.
When she reached the right room, she gave a gentle rap on the door to get Oak's attention before opening it and peeking inside. "Professor Oak, a mister Sam is here to see you." She said gently. Oak turned from his chair, looking at the aide with some surprise. "Samson? I didn't expect to see him this soon..." He stood nonetheless to go greet who he thought was his cousin. "Oh, no sir, not Samson Oak, just Sam. He's looking to get his starter pokemon and pokedex." The aide explained. "Ah, well then! That makes more sense." He chuckled, moving out of the room to go greet their visitor, whom was a lot older than Oak had expected. "Hello! I hope Veronica didn't give you too much trouble." He chuckled, greeting Sam warmly with a shake of the hand. "Professor, please...." Veronica deflated a bit. She was only doing her job. "Oh come now, I'm only joking." Oak insisted, turning his attention back to Sam. "I'm told that you wanted a starter an pokedex; did you have a particular starter in mind, or would you like me to introduce you to the options we have available first?" He suggested.

Sam just chuckled lightly at the aide's reaction. "Ahaha, don't worry about it. I am rather late to begin my journey. Can't leave my parents without first reestablish themselves now, can I?" Sam replied with a laugh. Soon the aide went off, and not too long later, she returned with none other than Professor Oak himself. "Hiya there! Here's a small gift, red bean buns. And yes, I do have something in mind, but I really would love to ask if you have a Bug-type than I can have. I love Bug-types, you see. But If I can't, then I shall ask for a Bulbasaur. I do love plants as well," Sam went on and on, but he still stated his intention, at the same time holding out the small plastic bag of red bean buns.
Oak smiled as he was offered the bean buns, taking them with a nod of appreciation. "Oh my! How generous of you. I appreciate it." He chuckled. He would have to try the bean buns later once Sam was settled. "Hm, well I'm afraid we don't have any bug types to start you off with, but we do have a bulbasaur." He nodded. "Veronica, would you mind retrieving this young man's supplies?" He asked, looking to the aide for some assistance. "Yes sir." Veronica said dutifully, turning to head towards the back of the room to gather some pokeballs, potions, a pokedex, and the requested bulbasaur for Sam. As she did, Oak continued his conversation with Sam. "I'm sorry we can't start you off with your preferred type, however Viridian Forest isn't too far from here, and it's teeming with bug pokemon, especially if you have some honey on hand to lure them out. Perhaps you and your bulbasaur can go catch some?" He suggested. "You'll need to head that way anyways if you want to challenge Brock." Veronica then returned, handing Sam his complimentary supplies, as well as his new Bulbasaur and pokedex. "Here you are sir. Will that be all?" She asked, though she was looking more to professor Oak for confirmation. "Yes, I think I can handle things from here. Thank you Veronica." Oak nodded.

Man, he had not expected the trip from Cerulean to Pallet to take half as long as it did. His stomach growled, demanding sustenance, but his nerves could not allow for a break - not even for food. Once he made it to Professor Oak's lab, he'd be off for his Pokémon adventure! Bulbasaur was going to help him find his mom and then they'd all be a family again.
Too excited for words, Blaine dashed through mud puddles when the lab came into view, not caring how much muck soaked the hems of his jeans. He was out of breath when he made it to the door and barely had enough stamina to even knock. Bent over with his hands bracing his knees, the young boy only caught a pair of shoes as a greeting. With one hand, he held a finger in the air, silently asking for a moment while his lungs reinflated. "Sorry," Blaine finally spat out between ragged draws. "I was so excited to finally see the lab..." Catching sight of his own shoes, he took one toe to the other heel and slipped off the mud-sodden sneaker, and then carefully pulled the other one off in a precarious balancing act. His expression took on sheepish qualities when he looked up with chocolate-colored eyes, scarlet emblazoning his cheeks. "I will leave these outside, heh."

While it was usually the aides that ran about the laboratory, and acted as the first faces new trainers usually saw, today was a bit different as Oak himself roamed the open floor. He moved from table to table, eyebrows pulled together as he read over a few of the latest reports, but immediately his attention was drawn to the door as it opened. Immediately sprouting a smile the good professor watched as a young boy entered, left breathless by the apparent run he'd just done. Oak approached, though did as asked of him and waited patiently for the lad to regain his breath. "It's not a problem, lad," he assured with a hearty chuckle. "It's always nice to know how excited you young ones are." The professor only gave a nod when the young boy suggested leaving his shoes, muddied from the puddles left behind by the most recent rain shower, outside. "Excellent idea, I'm sure the aides will all appreciate your consideration," he chuckled. "Now, what is it that I can do for you?"
