She was thinking of a way to reply to Gwen's question when the younger girl suddenly started crying out in pain. "G-Gwen? What's wrong? What hurts-" She was cut off when the younger girl started...transforming. Her little companion flickered in alarm and her eyes narrowed, head nodding slightly as she carefully moved out of the booth, taking a broom that the attendants in the day probably used to clean up the popped balloons and whatnot, and stepped cautiously into a more open path in case she needed to defend herself.
"Gwen, can you still understand me?" she asked cautiously. "If you can, is there anywhere I can take you so that you don't hurt anyone?"
Whether she could answer, or would for that matter, the redhead probably would never know. Just then two others ran up. One was a pinked haired....waitress with a broken arm? She was glowing...The other looked more dark, maybe vampiric in nature, though there seemed to be a rather strong elemental ability about him. He had a few reaplings hanging about him, one of which was making comments. She hoped that this new group could handle themselves. They seemed like it, from their presence at least, but they had also called the wolf girl by name. Attacking a friend was never easy. Hopefully they could defend themselves if she decided to lash out at them.

Tobias stepped back to help avoid the collision, concern in his ruby eyes at how she was acting. He had just barely heard a scream making him tense up. "I had thought the same, but something is obviously up. We need to hurry up and finish checking this place. I think we can get through the last part of the maze quickly. We can check the windows to possibly see what is going on." Turning, he went quickly back up the stairs and to the maze entrance, trusting her to follow with no trouble.

A low growl is the response to the three near the werewolf, followed by an earsplitting howl towards the moon as she rears up onto her hind legs. She stares towards it silently for a moment before slowly turning towards the three, shaking her head a bit as if trying to clear the strange red haze that covered the normal golden glow of her eyes. A low rumble starts up in her chest as she falls back to all fours and bares her fangs at them.

Sammy's eyes flickered from Gwen and her red haired companion to Xashowd, but only for a moment."What do you mean become dangerous? What's going to - "When next her eyes beheld her friend, she was no longer herself, but a...werewolf... Sammy stepped back with one foot, eyes wide with surprise."...happen."she finished, but it was no longer a question. Gwen was her friend but she had no experience with werewolves...was she still herself? Did she remember them? With a low, rumbling growl she stood up on her hind legs and howled into the sky. Shaking her head she fell back on all fours and growled, showing all of her teeth."She doesn't know it's us."she realized aloud, sad and afraid.
Scythes, Watermelon, and Flowing Breezes. These are the things that bring me Joy.
Xashowd shook his head. "She's a young Werewolf. They tend to be more feral in their early years, and their body forces them to change during a full moon...whether they want to or not." He explained, a sad tone at the end of his voice. "Someday, if she fights for it, she will have full control. Until then, she's dangerous to others when the moon is full." He looked around and saw a red haired woman and a star that hovered near her...a Star? It moved as though it had sentience, and was clearly attached to the woman. I assume that's the source of the stardust...I'll have to ask what happened later. He thought. Sammy was scared, he could see that on her face. The red head was an unknown, he wasn't sure where she fit in. Gwen was in full wolf form, capable of inflicting massive harm upon others. But there was something he could do...He could buy time.
He turned to Sammy. "Go, keep looking for the Astrolabe. I'll keep Gwen busy until she returns to normal." He said, summoning the wind in spheres around his hands. Gwen was a friend, so he wouldn't pull his Scythe on her. But he could still use his magic to keep her from hurting others without hurting her as well. And as a Vampire, he could keep up with her speed and reflexes. He could keep her busy all night if that was what it took. He just hoped she was fighting it, trying to take control of her feral nature. It would certainly help...
Thanaphyr sighed and floated closer to Xashowd. "Well, this is gonna be interesting." He remarked, completely deadpan. He had a feeling there was going to be a fight sometime tonight. He'd just hoped it would've been with the thief, and that it would be simple. Werewolves weren't simple...

Well that howl into the moonlit sky was as obvious a sign as any that, nope, Gwen was currently not in at the moment. Werewolves. And of course they were ruled by the moon, something she could do diddly about. Any other time she would have taken this opportunity to get space between Gwen and herself. Come up with a strategy and figure out how to get her someplace where she could be her fussy puppy self until the sun came up. But those other two made that impossible. For one, the girl sounded sad and frightened. Who knew if she'd be able to completely focus, or if her concern for her friend would cloud her own judgement? The other, the vampire...well he seemed in control enough, and was now summoning what looked like wind orbs of sorts. But she didn't know him, and there were some cultures out there where werewolves and vampires had bad blood between each other...
She frowned, gripping the broom in hand and letting her mind flash though all that had transpired in the past few moments. Something wasn't sitting right, and what Gwen was trying to say before she transformed was echoing in the back of her mind. Why is this only happening n- ..."Now", maybe? Was she blindsided by her own transformation? Come to think of it...it had been dark for awhile...why didn't she transform before then? The star next to her flickered, and she nodded.
"Quit being a hero," she called over to the vampire. "You seem to know enough about werewolves, so tell me, why did she transform in the middle of the night rather than when the moon first came out?" That's right. Something was up with her transformation starting, so who was to say that daybreak would end it? "Stalling with a fight is only going to wear you down and possibly get you both hurt. We need to find a place to contain her until we can find out what happened and how to fix it, whether it be by daybreak or something else."

The werewolf glances between Lucky and Xashowd, not that it was visually obvious that she was doing so due to the glowing. These would not be easy prey and not worth trying to hunt. The pink haired girl on the other hand... She could sense something wasn't normal about this human, but the broken arm makes her a much more tempting meal than the other two. She continues to glance between the two troublesome humanish prey, shifting her weight and tensing her muscles as if ready to spring for one of them. The rumbling in the young werewolfs chest grows in volume as she surges towards Lucky, redirecting herself at the last moment to leap for Sammy.

Xashowd looked up at the woman, keeping one eye on Gwen. She raised a valid point...why did she transform now? He thought over the things he'd seen in his travels. Most werewolves shifted immediately once the full moon rose in the sky, though there were some varieties who lost that shift the moment the clouds covered the moon, and then regained it when the clouds parted. He recalled earlier in the night...the moon had been out, but Gwen hadn't shifted. He couldn't recall what phase it'd been in, but if she hadn't shifted it wasn't full, so the Cloud Theory was out. Also, the moon hadn't been red...That doesn't happen instantly like that unless magic is involved. Then it hit him.
"Someone could be using the Astrolabe!" He exclaimed. It made sense. It had immense magical power and had been stolen. He assumed that due to the device's nature its power was tied to the stars. However, that wasn't to say it didn't have power over more, especially in the wrong hands.
The woman also mentioned containing Gwen, which Xashowd mentally slapped himself for. Why didn't I think of that? That's easy. "If no one has any objections, I can create a barrier of air around Gwen to hold her while we figure things out." He stated. Barriers were something he'd learned to make rather well. Very handy against projectiles and enemy spells.
His optioned turned into a requirement when Gwen lept for the woman. Having kept an eye on her, he'd seen her stare at Sammy like she was a meal, so wasn't surprised when Gwen pivoted and headed for her. "No you don't!" He cried, created a hardened sphere of air around Gwen mid-leap. "That should hold her..."
Minty was pretty sure she was going to get away scot free, maybe they hadn't seen her, or the booth distracted them, or hope of hopes they didn't care. Her feet were pound on the ground as hard as her heart was pounding in her ears. She really really needed to get back to the gym.
And then the screaming.
Back in the direction she had just been running from.
Dammit.
Minty pivoted on her heels so hard it kicked up dust and she took of back the way she had come.
You know. Normal people don't run towards the sound of danger. She silently berated herself as she made it back to the booth. There were more people there than when she'd left, and a beast that seemed fresh out of hell, hungry and on the attack.
Minty didn't even slow down, instead she launched herself at Sammy intent on knocking the poor waitress out of the monstrous wolf's path. Too late she realized that the vampire had already done something about it. If only there were air-brakes for human idiots...

While the two bickered back and forth about the proper strategy to deal with their friend in an altered state of mind, Sammy was left to resent the fact she couldn't transform in front of them. She soon repressed the train of thought, forcing clarity for herself.Just because I can't access my powers doesn't make me powerless...she thought as they instructed her to 'safety',Baka...As the werewolf turned and raced toward her, the glow around her unknowingly intensified. Planting her feet, she could feel her wand starting to materialize in her hand... Until she was pinned to the ground by Minty and the creature was contained by Xashowd. The whole thing dissolved as soon as began with nary a trace to be seen."Baka..."she cursed under her breath, standing up and glaring at her alleged teammates.

So, he had heard it, too. Now she could sense faint traces of magic, probably coming from the same place as the screaming and growling. Those were definitely werewolf noises, she'd recognize them anywhere. It was pretty similar to how her brother transforms on the full moon. There was certainly cause for worry, but if that faint hint of magic was anything to consider, the others in the search for the astrolabe would hopefully keep said werewolf under control. If not, she could use her knowledge of all things werewolf to help out.
"I agree. It kinda sounded like what my brother has to deal with every full moon. I'll be right behind you, alright?" She would indeed follow after him, taking the stairs two at a time in her haste. Were they even on the right side of the fairgrounds to be able to see what was happening out of a window? There was really only one way to find out. It might take them some time to navigate the maze, but that's where Rai would come in. He could direct them to the exit quickly and efficiently. All they had to do was follow his direction. For now, the princess and her star would follow right behind Toby, keeping a lookout for anything that might resemble the astrolabe.
((The horns do add to his height, I'd imagine. I think your posts are alright, no need to worry.))
The horned male's jaw set hearing that and he gave only the hint of a nod. "I see. Was there a full moon tonight? I do not recall, I regret to say. Good, I still do not think there is much to this part of the maze." Just before going in, he faded to smoke as it would allow him to move quicker. Trust was given that Rai would help lead his princess quickly to follow if Tobias got too far ahead. As he had suspected there was laughable little to this part and he emerged several steps away from a line of large windows. "Found the windows, let us have a look." There was no glass in the windows, just a safety bar in front. Truth be told that didn't really seem like much of a safety precaution though. Moving up to nearly against the rail, he began scanning the abandoned grounds.
((A fair point, yes. Alright, thank you. ))

She opened her mouth to reply when suddenly there was a werewolf bounding at her. Then werewolf turned next moment and went for the pink haired waitress. Then werewolf was caught by wind created by the vampire. Then the waitress steeled herself...almost like-well no time to dwell on that, the person who set off the game booth had arrived and tackled her to the ground.
"Well...hello again?" she offered to the newcomer.
The waitress was glaring daggers at everyone. Not that the redhead could blame her. She had jumped to action and had put that girl on the sidelines thanks to that cast on her arm. She would be offended too if someone did that, regardless of their reasons. She shook her head, letting the vampire deal with the werewolf for now as she approached the waitress, gesturing to the cast. "Is your arm alright?"

Sammy straightened herself out, patting the dust off her clothes and making sure her outfit was without slip-up's."I'm fine, thank you."she said to the redhead, her presence several shades softer now."Don't worry about this thing, it's like it's locked in a safe."she assured with a smile, knocking on the hard plaster with her good hand."It's Sammy, by the way, sorry for the sloppy introduction, heh."She glanced over at Gwen, now elevated in a vortex of air. She could barely see her for the movement of the gusts. Despite all that had gone on her eyes flickered sympathetically."I never knew...I hope she's all right in there."she said quietly.
OOC: Sorry if I described his power wrong...I pictured kind of a moving sphere of air holding Gwen.
