It's not something you'd really fear though. Normally, a thousand gerbils would be pretty frickken damn annoying, but they're sedated. So most likey asleep. 'Oh no, a thousand sleeping gerbils!" just doesn't work.
And I could still take 'em.

Sedated just means drowsy mostly, some might fall asleep.
