“I—don’t know—“ Ten responded her son as she removed her hand from her wound, covered in the number’s blood. Her lung had become tighter, and healing still wasn’t working, why wasn’t it working? “What was in that dagger?” She said with what breath she had, falling to her knees. Even if Ten died, she could regenerate, she could come back. Or, she had assumed as much.
“A shared of Dameon’s dagger ricochet off the other and pierced your mother—I can try healing—“ Nora had started to speak before behind cut off.
“No!” Ten stopped the human from speaking. “No human will ever heal me.”

Dameon's misty form was blown away and scattered around the room and dispersing it slightly leaving the room in a dark haze. He had heard Ten and of her injury but h did not care, he had warned her that if she got int he way he would not save her. It wasn't as if there was anything truly special about the dagger that had pierced her. If anything Lucian was most likely responsible for the loss of her healing ability. Though he did not linger on that matter any longer than a passing thought as the mist quickly gathered in front of Lucian and attempted to enter his body so Dameon could continue his plan to rip Lucian apart from the inside out Then again Dameon wasn't fully sure what would happen if he attempted such a move as he had never in all of his countless years attempted to do this while in his true form. Anything from what he sought to have happen, the mad king being obliterated from the inside out, to a battle of their souls for the body. It was a gamble that Dameon was more than willing to take if he could manage to enter the man's body. But the ancient man could feel Lucian resisting his entry but he continued to push though he remained wary of that left sword, ready to disperse should he make a move to attack with it. He still did not know what it did but he was not keen to find out. His current mist form was supposed to be invulnerable but once again he would not put it past Lucian to have found a counter to the ability that was so strikingly similar to his own.

Lucian ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the time Daemon had been scattered the runes had spread farther along Lucian's body. When the metal ended and the skin began the runes went from engravings to tattoos. Where the runes met in the center of his chest they had an effect of their own. Lucian could identify that Dameon was trying to get into his body and as a result Lucian had created runes to specifically avoid outside control. If Dameon got in he would be trapped but Dameon wouldn't know that until it was too late. Still, Lucian did not make it easy. He couldn't give away any secrets now could he? When Dameon came towards Lucian in the mist form again Lucian vanished reappearing behind the cloud as a large box of fire formed around Dameon. It was slowly shrinking. It would burn away the mist entirely but it would only burn Dameon's solid body. That was Lucian's game plan. He wanted to force Dameon into his human form.
Eleven looked at Nora and then Ten thinking carefully about what he could do. Then he began talking but it was clear he was not talking to any of the people in the room. He was talking to the voice of his father's ghost. "What do I do? I can't. She isn't healing. What do you mean 'It is happening?'. No. I won't accept that." Eleven looked over at Nora. "Heal her the moment you can." /He sent one clear mental message to the girl before placing two fingers on his mother's forehead and flushing her body with an urge to sleep. He was unsure if it would successfully knock her out but it should have at least made her tired.

Ten fell to her knee’s as her son’s trick worked in his favor, but maybe, too much in his favor as the numbered one fell forward into a slumber. Nora had done as Eleven asked, she had began healing his mother as she laid on on the floor.
It had been a while since Nora had started. She had stopped, started and stopped again as the healing processes began to drain her, and the numbered being wasn’t healing.
Nora looked over at Eleven, with distress in her face. She was truly trying to heal his mother, even when they had their difference, and it wasn’t working. “She’s cold—“ Was all Nora could say as his mother’s breathing slowed to almost nothing.

Dameon watched as the box of fire slowly began to close in on his mist form and laughed. "Whats the matter Lucian, afraid of a little mist?" he mocked as remained in his mist form. While he was knew that his current form was unable to be damaged, he could still feel the fire burning away at his mist form into smoke in the air giving Dameon an idea.
"To think I respected you at one point in time. But now here you are a broken man withering away because fate was cruel to him, a broken man who struck down his own son in cold blood." he taunted the dangerous man not caring about the box of fire closing in on him. "You think your the only one who has suffered at the hands of fate? To loose those closest to you?" Dameon knew he was prodding a sleeping dragon but he continued on as he wanted Lucian to lash out in anger, "So pathetic, a coward. I'm going to take a wild guess and say that your going to end your own life after you destroy this world to be with your wife and son." With his piece said Dameon flew into the wall of fire making his mist burn up inside of the flaming box. After a while the mist began to reform inside of the smoke above the box hidden from view.

Lucian ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eleven looked back and forth from Nora to Ten as he tried to figure out what was going wrong. Why wasn't she healing? No one was blocking her powers, well no one in the room. Nine's ghost had said something Eleven refused to accept and Eleven refused to think the answer was that simple. However he had no other answers. He couldn't heal her, Nora couldn't, and Ten wasn't healing herself. Eleven knew what would happen and so with a heavy heart Eleven leaned in and whispered something to his mother. Go to him.
Lucian laughed slightly with a laugh none had ever heard before. It was his laugh but their were undertones of madness in it. "I respected you as well once. But then you sacrificed all honor you had so you could bed a woman who has clearly manipulated you. I may have made a great many mistakes and violent choices but at least they were my own choices. That woman has made all of yours. " It was clear Lucian would not lash out in anger with anything but his words. It also became clear that he could still see Dameon when he looked directly towards the reforming mist. Dameon was forgetting that Lucian didn't see as everyone else did. Lucian saw power, he saw all types of power and so none could hide from him. "My son died because he refused to submit. I gave him his chance. He chose death, you are making that same choice right now boy." Lucian smiled slightly as the box of fire vanished. Dameon would not be able to enter his body. The runes forming on Lucian's abdomen were ensuring that. However Lucian must have had a plan to defeat a enemy made of mist. Fortunately Lucian had an in depth understanding of Dameon's current form. "My life will only end when I see it is fit. When the world orb is complete this world will burn as my own did. Then I will burn all others. Only then will I rest. Only when I have burned all worlds will I see my love again."

Ten turned her head side to side slowly, back and forth as if she was telling Eleven no. Even if she was to die, she would return, wouldn’t she?
Ten’s hand slid down her body and reached for her son’s. She was still puzzled as to why she couldn’t be healed. Was it Dameon? Was it Lucian? Was it Nine pulling her to the other side?
“Eleven—the most perfect being your father and I could have ever made—I will be back, but until I am, without me and your father, you will accomplish great things, you will do wonders for this planet. I loved you more than life, even if I never knew how to show it.” Ten didn’t release his hand, she held onto it until the last breath left her lungs. She deserved death after siding with Gyouken, aiding in the releasing of Lucian, turning on her husband and her son resenting her.
Nora removed her hands from his mother and turned to face the young numbered being. She waited for him to say something, a response, an order for her to do something.

Eleven swallowed sadness as he watched his mother pass. He knew she would not return. Nine had told him exactly what was happening. Nine hadn't prevented it, Nine hadn't caused it either though. It was the Gathering. A time when all that remained of the numbered beings would gather into one place and only one would walk out. As each being fell the others would take what life the fallen would have had. The last one would live forever, they could be killed, but they would always regenerate. Ten would not regenerate, Eleven knew that much. He trust his father's words. However that meant that either he or Lucian would be the last one. In the end, there could be only one. the numbered boy looked towards Nora and shook his head slightly. She was gone his mother was gone and now he would be forced to kill his grandfather. Lucian had been right years ago when Eleven betrayed him. Lucian had told Eleven one thing and Eleven didn't believed him. There would be no happy ending to this story. Not for the numbered ones.

"I'm sorry--" Nora whispered as she reached for Eleven's shoulder. She had tried to save his mother, and she too was confused as to what had happened, but they needed to move on, Eleven often reminded her of that. She began to wonder where Silas was. Was he alive still? Was anyone left alive?

Dameon laughed darkly at Lucian's words as he slowly formed his body as he spoke, "Manipulated? My choice isn't my own? You are as blind as you are mad. I chose to be with my wife. Your wife is dead, but if she were alive and our roles reversed would you not choose to side with your own wife? Or would you strike her down for getting in your way? Would you have ended her life as you ended Nine's? Part of me thinks you couldn't care less about them. As you are now your nothing more than a shell. A broken man trying to take out your pain on the world. A child with too much power throwing a temper tantrum." Dameon's body formed and in his hands a second sword formed along side his other.
"A dead man is all I see. A man, who as he is now, would strike down those he cares about because they proved to be an inconvenience to him. You even laid with another woman." Dameon finished as he darted towards Lucian only to launch several small flaming balls of brimstone to serve as a distraction so that he could cut at the mad kings neck with his left sword and pierce his heart with the right.

Eleven nodded slightly and turned away from Nora to watch the battle between Lucian and Dameon. He began counting again. The endgame was unclear but Eleven was clearly just distracting himself from the fact that his mother was gone.
Lucian smiled and nodded slightly. "As far as sleeping with another woman goes, you have a good point, I can't deny that. Then again it was done to preserve the lives of my men though that now seems to be a flawed argument. However if our roles were reversed and my wife lived I would not have been so stupid as to forsake my honor. I would not swear my allegiance to a tyrant and then plot to stab him in the back. I would walk into the throne room and look him in the eye as I cut out his heart. " With that Lucian charged forward again however he pulled a page from Dameon's playbook and erupted into a cloud of thick back mist before reforming behind the traitorous general. Lucian lashed downwards with his right sword while thrusting his left sword forward to stab Dameon. Lucian was fortunate he chose to mimic Dameon, because if he had not he would have been impaled on his enemies blade.

Dameon would have smirked as he spun around and deflected Lucian's stab away with his right sword as he spun while holding up his left to block Lucian's right, "Do you remember those three questions I asked you when we first met? Well, I find that your actions now have rendered your words mute and void and the man I swore to follow is gone. He died the day he killed Nine, gone mad with power and pain. The king I followed is no more. You said I sold my honor, yet here you are going back upon your word. Your goal so very much like my old one. The destruction of humanity but where I had only sought to wipe out humanity you would wipe out all existence." Dameon shoved Lucian away with all of his strength leaving Dameon to jump back to avoid any retaliatory strikes.
"Which includes my wife and son. I will not that happen when I finally have them back." Dameon knew his son still desired his head but that was fine. He was alive, he existed, his wife while complicated was willing to be with him and that had been difficult in of itself it to achieve but it was all that mattered to Dameon and he be damned if he let Lucian take it away.

Lucian grumbled something indistinguishable after being shoved backwards. He smiled slightly and cracked his neck. "A vow is a vow. No matter how the circumstance changes you swore to serve. But it doesn't matter. In moments you will be dead, then I will kill Eleven, then I will destroy the realms." Lucian said as he tilted his head slightly to the right and pointed at Dameon would his sword. When he did metal chains shot out and wrapped around Dameon's arms attempting to pull him in half. Lucian took the slight chance he had been given by the chains to charge at Dameon, but he did not reach the traitor. Half way across the throne room Eleven slammed into his grandfather, pulling the sword out of Lucian's left hand and bounding backwards to regain his footing. Lucian hit the ground with a thud but rolled back onto his feet quickly before Eleven dispelled the chains Lucian had conjured. At least now Dameon didn't have to worry about Lucian's left sword.

Dameon growled darkly as he felt himself be captured by chains and glared at Lucian as he tugged and pulled at the chains and just as he was about to attempt to break them Eleven set him free. "Finally decided to step in have you?" he said more as a statement as he rolled his shoulders. He glanced warily at the left blade in Elevens hands before he focused full attention on the mad king.
"I don't care if I broke my vows to you. You don't matter to me. You are nothing more than a mirror image." With that said Dameon appeared to run recklessly at Lucian, swinging his sword about carving up the ground with his swords as he neared the man. When he was upon him he jumped over Lucian and he immediately swung both swords down at the man as he turned to try and force him back into the newly create rune on the floor that had yet to be fed any magic to prevent Lucian from catching onto his plan to quickly.

Eleven didn't say much before Dameon charged at Lucian who stood ready. Lucian sidestepped Dameon, unknowingly avoiding the rune, just before eleven charged towards his grandfather. The two crossed blades briefly before Eleven pushed Lucian back towards the rune. However Lucian back flipped over it, once again avoiding the rune, so that he could regain his balance. When he landed Eleven was upon his again swinging his sword in an upwards diagonal slash that Lucian shifted his body to the left to dodge before elbowing Eleven in the chest. The younger numbed warrior was forced backwards by the impact but regained his footing before Lucian thrust his blade forwards towards Eleven's heart. Eleven spun to the right, smacking Lucian's sword away at the start of the spin and slashing into Lucian's leg in the final part of the spin. It seemed that the runes Lucian had placed on the sword lost all power the moment the blade left Lucian's hand because he showed no immediate pain or struggle to remain in this world.
Lucian recovered from the cut quickly by leaping backwards to draw Eleven in and it seemed to work. The younger numbered one charged forward at his grandfather only to be thrown aside by an invisible force that proceeded to slam Eleven into the wall. The king then returned his attention to Dameon who he sent a ball of black energy hurtling towards.
