After Alec took his place on the seat, the girl threw another ball. She missed and the ball rolled out into the dirt.

As Alec sat back down, Lenore threw another ball. She missed, and the ball bounced off the wall to roll back at her feet.

Leaning down, she picked up the ball and threw it again. The ball glanced off the mechanism.

Lenore grabbed another ball and chucked it. It, too, glanced off the mechanism, and the girl scowled.

Retrieving a ball, Lenore tossed it at the mechanism. Once again it glanced off the mechanism, and the girl's scowl grew.

The ball hit the edge, but with the added force, was enough to dunk Alec.

As Alec got back up, Lenore remembered that the manager's shift should be over soon. She decided to throw one last ball before heading back.

The poor boy was sent into the water for the third time in a row, and Lenore gave him and his sister a small wave before leaving, her mood brightened considerably.
