Queen_EnchantedLuck Shasita Hello everyone. I got invited to join this guild and decided to give it a go. It sounds like a nice place smile I'm 24, live in the Netherlands, and haven't LARP'ed yet (mainly because of a lack of time and money) but would like to try it sometimes. I have a couple of friends who LARP on a regular basis. A few weeks ago I went to my first con (Epicon - 's Hertogenbosch - the Netherlands) and really liked it. In the future I might go to more cons. I do go to Castlefest almost every year and I went to the Elf Fantasy Fair a couple of times. Hello. Welcome dearie. LARP is expensive, but there are ways to make it cheaper. My boyfriend and I make our own weapons, borrow tents, go to thrift stores for our costumes and it's overall an amazing experience. How much does it cost to enter the LARP your friends go too.
Time can be an issue, but overall experience of it is worth it. My friends tell me all the time that they don't have time, their always working ect. After taking up this hobby, everything works out. And because it is a Healthy Activity, bosses enjoy hearing about my experience and are open to letting me go. But that is here in Canada. I'm not sure how it works in the Netherlands.
I'd love to hear about your experiences at the anime cons. My first con is going to be MCM in London, England. I can't wait. My boyfriend and I love traveling and cons so we decided to combine the two. We wouldn't mind trying out different kinds of European Anime Conventions. Welcome dearie. lol. I talk to much sometimes. Nothing wrong with talking a lot smile London heart It's been a while since I've been there. Must be quite a long flight, from Canada to England... It is just that time and money are things that are stopping me from trying it out right now. I had a near burn-out in December and am still recovering from my workplace internship these past few months. I have a couple of resits in November that I HAVE to pass. I already have a lot of stress completing my costume for Castlefest (my insecurity makes it nearly impossible to start on it sweatdrop ). It is pretty much all my school's fault, so as soon as I finally graduate and get a job, I'll be more relaxed and will look into LARP 3nodding LARP is considered a weird hobby (if people have heard of it at all razz ), so it wouldn't be something you'd talk about at the average workplace I guess. The surgery on my foot has been rescheduled to September at its earliest, so I might go to Abunai the last weekend of August. It's one of the bigger anime cons in the Netherlands and it's relatively close to where I live smile I was wondering: is it weird to go to a con as an original character that isn't based on an anime? I'm working on a 'huntress red riding hood' costume for Castlefest right now and I won't have time to make anything else before the con...

Dracoquince Hey guys, what up?? Anyone in here going to AWA in September? Hello. I love your name. I'd love to hear the story behind it. I personally am not going to AWA, but you can post an information topic in the Anime section asking people if they are going. I'm sure we've got some anime conventioneers here.

Hello! I'm Zero (an alias/username I've been using for as long as I can remember) and I'm here partially just because I was invited and partly because this place looks fun.
I have a large number of hobbies, but the primary ones would be Gaming (Xbox 360 and Wii U), Reading Manga, Watching Anime, Making videos for my Youtube account, and playing Magic the Gathering. Aside from that, I have a fascination with collecting things: Foreign currency, Clocks, non monetary coins, and other miscellaneous nicknacks.
At current I can't really say I have any plans for the future, since every time I plan for anything something screws it up.
I'm fairly excited for a number of games releasing later this year: Super Smash Bros., Naruto Shipudden Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution, and Dragon Age Inquisition being the most anticipated. I'm also excited for a number of anime coming out, number 1 for me right now would be "Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai Kara Kuru Sou Desu Yo?"
I don't particularly have a favorite thing to learn about, I mean, I enjoy learning new strategies in Magic, but that's more of a learn as I go thing.
There are a number of places I would love to go, but in general I'd just like to get out of my hometown.

I'm glad to be here. smile I tend to get that alot...though those were my thoughts when I first found it, which is why I made it my signature. Yep, I'm a rare breed.. emotion_brofist Awesome! I might look into that....but first I need to finish my latest project. (which has been the bane of my existence as of late) ...I don't know if I can be trusted in a Minecraft world...then again I usually spend most of my time building caverns beneath my home. Well, it would be a great game to play with a large number of players...then again so would a number of games, pending on who's playing. Halo, Grand Theft Auto, Assassin's Creed, Left 4 Dead, Soul Calibur, the Ultimate Ninja titles, etc... I might just have to do that. Thanks for inviting me and You too! emotion_yatta

Salvete omnes. I have a number of nicknames, but these days, I've been called by the name Almus, so that works. I was invited by a friend of a friend. My most prominent "hobby," if you can call it that, is languages. Particularly ancient ones. I have quite a deep-running passion for them and it's somewhat difficult to explain it in a simple way. That said, my favorite thing to learn about is languages, of course. I suppose if it's not already obvious I intend to be an interpreter, but really, I'd like to be a teacher. All I have to do now is find people who are genuinely interested in learning about ancient/dead languages. :p

Hi there!
Why I joined & my hobbies:
I'm here, because I was searching for guilds, and "The Nerd Guild" caught my eye. Some of my hobbies include writing, listening to music, playing video games, and currently, I am teaching myself Japanese. My favorite things to learn about are psychology, art, space and other stuff. Personally, I don't like a lot of history stuff, because I find it boring and am lacking a little in that subject.^_^ If I could travel anywhere in the world, it would probably be Japan, because I love anime (and the architecture) - though I still haven't watched as many as I would like yet. When I get up to 50, I'll say that I've watched a lot of anime (well, a lot to me anyways - don't have the attention span to watch anime all day XD) I also think Egypt is pretty cool...if I could go to Egypt, I would take pictures of the Great Sphinx and pyramids... Anyways, I'll talk about music next - I like many genres, but my favorites are rock and electronica. I keep the motto - a track a day keeps the doctor away. =) Actually, as a motto it works. Love finding some cool songs. I have a lot of favorite bands.
My favorite video game is Twilight Princess, but I also enjoy Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Wind Waker (as well as the old Zelda game I've played). I am a huge Zelda fan. Can't wait to play Skywards Sword. Some non-Zelda games I've played include Starfox 64, SSX Tricky, The Sims, Cubis, Mario, Final Fantasy X....Some non-Zelda games I still want to play are Mirror's Edge, because it looks really fun, and also because I love the soundtrack produced by Solar Fields. Also, I haven't played any of the Kingdom Hearts, Mass Effect, or Pokemon games, but they all seem pretty fun. ^_^ I love all things fantastical, futuristic, or just plain old fun!
I enjoy drawing sometimes, but I don't know if I have enough talent in the area to become a professional at it. Still it's something fun.
I have Asperger's Syndrome. I am socially awkward, but that's just another reason I joined this group - because there are some like-minded individuals. I consider myself both pro-nature and pro-technology, as somebody already stated that they don't have to be mutually exclusive. I believe that technology could be used to clean the oceans (the same person mentioned it and it makes sense), and bioluminscent trees are pretty neat! ^__^
Oh, and I read the Guild Announcement thing, and yes, I have FB, but am staying hiatus for some months on it (long story).
Future plans:
A few goals I have for the future (that aren't tangible at the time) are learning to play the piano, publish a book of poems, and cosplay. I need to go to college, so I can get a job and do things that I'd like to do as a result of getting money from that job - I applied but think I have to wait 'till Spring, which is still good. It means I have somewhat of a direction of getting *real* life started. =)
Don't know too much about falling in love (actually, doesn't interest me all that much - I just fell out of love almost, and am happy about the freedom). However, if I get money and fall in love with a guy online or find somebody from college (where it's actually mutual), or whatever positive experience happens, guess maybe I can get life started on that level. I have no motherly instinct or desire to start a family, though. -_-
It's all about independence, baby. ^__^
Well, that's it about my interests and future plans.

Well, that's it about my interests and future plans. It is excellent to meet you I'm sure you'll fit right in to the guild. lol. I'm glad to see that you have future goals and are working your way toward them. I'm very impressed. I myself am in the same boat with school. I need to make the money to get that on track.
I'm glad you feel comfortable talking with us. Although I don't know much about Asperger's Syndrome I am currently learning about it so that I can be aware and help you during any issues. I'm a sufferer of Depression and Anxiety so I understand being socially awkward.
Writing, music, video games, oh my. Everyone here has similar interests when it comes to those. Especially Legend of Zelda. <3
Japan is awesome. Some of the styles they came out with is amazing.
I wish you a lot of luck, and I'm so happy to have you apart of the guild.

Hello. Thanks for the invite, by the way. I responded to it a bit late, but again, thanks! I'm CeCe. I am currently taking a break from school so I can work. I hope to get a certificate for animation some time in the future. I like to draw, knit, play video games, and sew. I do parkour with friends every Tuesday and I am SO looking forward to that Deadpool movie!
I saw the teaser trailer that they showed at Comic-Con. I'm very excited. I also like learning new things about ducks. They're my favorite animal, you see. Hmm, if I could live anywhere in the world, I'd probably just stay here in the US. I have never tried Bubble Tea and I have a horrible habit of not going to the doctor until it's too late. (I have a funny story about that; I'll tell it later)

I know a lot of people wanted to go to Comic Con and see it. I will have to create some comic style threads with the popularity. <3 Although Deadpool is not one that I'm well versed with I'm excited to see Legends of the Guardians.

Tidings!
I have had many names and identities over the years. Right now I'm Catling, but we'll see how long it is before I go changing usernames again. When in doubt, Kitten works just fine. I prefer the she/her/her set of pronouns. I'm from a small rural town in the middle of nowhere but I'm currently living in the big city of Chicago.
I saw a banner for this guild in someone's sig in the Heaven forum and thought it looked like just the place for me. Upon investigation, my suspicions were confirmed. smile
I love reading both for school and for pleasure. Right now I'm completely infatuated with Hannu Rajaniemi and the fascinating SciFi world he creates in The Quantum Thief. I also like to write science fiction and fantasy stories of my own. I have a pretty active social life centering around anime and games of both the video and tabletop varieties. My friends and I have just finished watching Fate/Zero which was absolutely fabulous. When not watching anime together, the tv is overwhelmingly occupied with Dark Souls II. I'm currently trying a daggers only run based around my DnD rogue. When that finally gets boring, we bust out the dice and drive each other nuts trying to survive games like Undermountain (DnD) and Black Crusade (Warhammer 40k).
Something a little more personal that I'm into (though it can definitely be social) is BDSM. Before graduating this past spring, I helped run a kinky student group on my college campus that focused on spreading education and acceptance of the lifestyle. I like to go to events around the city and spread all the knowledge that I can to those who may be more new to the whole scene. I've noticed a few other people who have said that they were into the lifestyle and I'd just like to add my name to the list as someone to come to with any questions, comments, or concerns.
Priority number one right now is to find a job so I can be a productive member of society. I'd love to find a position in mental health care or work as a research assistant. The dream is to get my PhD in clinical psychology and become a therapist. We'll see how that goes. More immediate plans are just to prep for upcoming conventions (I'm kind of a cosplay addict) and start writing again.
Oddly enough, I'm excited for the 50 Shades movie coming out. Not because I think it will be good or sexy or a good introduction for people new to the scene. No, I am excited because it will be something that my friends and I can watch and make complete fun of, like watching a b movie for how terrible it is. Or maybe I'm just a masochist. All of the things I was legitimately excited for this year have already come out, such as Transistor, Winter Soldier, and Godzilla. Though I heard that a Godzilla sequel is in the works which I will be waiting for with much anticipation.
I like learning about other cultures, particularly their mythologies. I'm also a huge psychology nerd, as I should be after studying it in college for 4 years. The human mind never ceases to amaze me.
I would really really love to visit Japan one day, though honestly I would be happy to go just about anywhere. Currently I haven't been outside of the United States and by golly that needs to change! I love Japanese culture and I wouldn't mind being able to watch a round of Ninja Warrior in person.

Welcome to the guild. Glad to learn a lot about you, I think you'll fit in with the rest of us Nerds quite well. It shocking but our Crew member x-Phoenix Phyre-x has also stated that she talks about BDSM as well. So it is really exciting to see that it is a type of genre that is getting popular.
I lived in a small town myself, but the big city is so much fun to live in sometimes. There is so much to do. lol.
Fate/Zero is awesome as much as it was infuriating. I literally shook my tv at the very end. OMG. Saber is cool and Lancer is just well . . . my cup of tea. lol. Dark Souls II I heard is awesome. I'm sure anime and video games are awesome topics here.
Well I'm rambling as of now, but you can always talk with me or the Crew about anything; for life advice to video games to youtube videos. We jam vids as well. I'm not sure if you own an Xbox but we have our own minecraft world. lol. Anyways.
Welcome to the guild We are happy to meet you. Luck.
