As all hell broke loose, the first thought to cross Rin's mind was that she had made a big mistake. It was a mistake to get out of bed, to come, to leave Melvin behind. There was a very clear threat all around, it was tangible. If she died here, he would never know what happened. She couldn't do that to him. She was already running.
Following orders.

She had just barely avoided the path of a sentry, Byr already summoned to hand. His heavy weight reassuring though she is well aware how little he could do for her against their weapons.

Rin had made it to the end of the line. She glanced around for others who had also made it to the headquarters. She was uncertain if anyone needed help at this point; they all looked like a horrible mess. Even herself though she has taken no fire yet, she brushed off some pine needles and dirt. (3/3 - 50/50 HP) Everyone at the end of the line Rin is looking for anyone who may need help

It had all happened so agonizingly slow. Reinforcements for the enemy arriving, capturing them (for lack of a better term), Mark, the explosion... So slow and yes so fast. One moment she was assessing a situation, the next she was not home.
There was a small comfort in the fact that things HAD fallen apart and gone straight to hell. Easy and pleasant would have meant something wasn't right- like the wold had ended and she'd slept through it, or she was back in a pod somewhere. She still hoped this was all a dream again. Too bad it felt real. Real and dangerous. Just what the hell was going on? Crap, apparently. And she had no idea where Jake was. It was hard to tell in the chaos. Part of her hoped he was back on Deus, hiding. Part of her hoped she'd find him now.
Armagnac sounded wary. She was not keen on this situation. Sherry wasn't either.
She shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts and clear the smell of fire from her nose. Damn it all. Well. They had their orders, and waiting around wasn't going to get anything done.
So she ran- right into a figure dressed in grey.

Armagnac seemed pleased by Sherry's lack of hesitation at actually summoning her. Sherry didn't know why- this was not a situation for hesitating. These dudes in grey were not joking around. They'd done killed folks, messed up Mark, shot people... Nope not a time to try and talk.
Sherry put a fair bit of effort into her first attack. She grinned when it hit, both because it was satisfying and to hide her wince. The sentry was armed, too.

Her follow up swing was just as strong, and the man in her path fell. She didn't have time to fret about it, but she wondered if she would later. These...were people, right?
Ever the voice of reason.

Sherry turned, ready to head back down the path, following others she recognized, following orders.
Unfortunately, it seemed the fellow she'd just stabbed had a friend. He didn't look happy. No, no, not at all.

Bix loitered just long enough to be sure that some people had taken care of Mark, as much as they could, for the time being. But he was a Sun and that meant pressing on and fighting.
He darted between skirmishes but thankfully went unnoticed by the currently occupied guards.

Perhaps Bix underestimated himself. He darted up the path, ducking and dodging flying bullets and continuing on undisturbed. He moved to any shadows he could and even crept around in bushes.

Not a time for hesitating, talking, or anything else silly. These folks were going to kill them all if they could, and the chances of that happening... Sherry was glad it wasn't a time for thinking, either.
Practiced motions, that's what she used. She knew how to hit with her weapon.

He'd keep his fingers crossed that everything continued just as smoothly.

Her opponent knew what he was doing, too. That or someone else had taken a shot at her. Bullets, cutting through shields in a way she'd never seen before. Through her shield, but just barely. Enough to graze, to sting. Enough to drive home the point that this was dangerous.
Maybe it would have been better to stay in bed.
Too late for that.
A second sentry fell at her feet.

Jordan hadn't been in the gathering group, not close enough yet, but he'd seen the spatter of blood, and for long moments as the scene played out he was shocked frozen. They'd gotten too used to the shield keeping them whole. One more assumption destroyed. Good to know that it was possible without having had it demonstrated personally, he thought guiltily.
None of them were going to reach Mark in time, and it was weirdly horrifying that after all this time, something as simple as a gun could be a genuine threat, could actually kill one of them. Jordan had enough time to reflect that he didn't like Mark, but he hadn't wanted to see the guy die, and not like this, and then an explosion shook the lighthouse, and time resumed.
Of course. Mark liked bombs.
Somehow, in the confusion and the flames, Jordan made it through the portal, found himself on the other side in chill morning air beside another lighthouse, one that looked a lot like the burning one they'd just stumbled through. There was a path forward and a clear directive. Take them out. He hesitated a few moments. Mark was missing fingers and didn't look like he really registered what was around him. With the portal closed, this was probably not the most dangerous place to be; if the O headquarters was ahead, anything coming from that direction would have to come through the group of Deus hunters first. Anything coming from any other direction ... there wasn't much they could do about that.
America and Robert had bandages, and it didn't look like Mark was responding to much; getting him hidden would probably take physically hauling him to cover, and if five minutes was accurate, they didn't have time for that. Jordan hissed between his teeth with worry and irritation and turned to the path.

The second didn't have a friend. Or well, he'd HAD one. Pride rang in the voice. Wariness was also present. Sherry nodded, and headed forward. Down the path. To the end of the path, her eyes scanning for attacks, and for Jake. She hoped he was safe, at least. He'd been awake, she knew, but maybe, just maybe he was still home. Though she sorely wished he were here, too. That way she'd know. Sherry didn't allow herself a sigh of relief as she neared the end of the path. She was too anxious for that. [3/3] HP: 52/60
