Flurry was trembling, barely keeping her eyes open as the twisted, shadowy mare pranced around them as if he had already defeated them. And in Flurry's mind, she already had been defeated. That was until Frost showed up. "You do still care..." She whispered thankfully as he rubbed against her. "I thought for certain you'd be with her..." Her words fell from her mouth though as Frost - always the strong silent type didn't bother to use his words. This wasn't the time for words. And she watched, starstruck as Frost jabbed out with his hooves - that found their mark - and dropped her attacker.
Dazzled, Flurry velcroed herself back to Frost's side, "Thank you, thank the spirits, Frost - thank you so much - you did it! You saaaavveed me!"

Sabin Duvert For Psyche & maybe Infernum? Stormfall was surprised to find herself being addressed by the flutter mare that she had obviously overlooked in the battle. At first Stormfall thought she had misheard the mare. It was when she glanced towards the newcomer that she registered what action had been threatened. Stormfall realized that the newcomer had ambushed the winged creature that she had sent to try and warn the herd of the invasion. Her flight faltered for a moment before she swung towards the blue mare. Her attention was locked fully now on the mare that was addressing her. There was no reason to believe that the stranger wouldn't go through on her threat. She watched carefully as her winged companion fluttered helplessly. Her companions had been a gift from her father. She couldn't lose them, not even one. "Let it go."

Note: Taraxippus is maxed out Taraxippu's head whipped back at the impact to his body, but as he slowly returned his gaze to his 'little sister', it was full of cool, deadly calm. He was not a being of rage like Firestorm. Taraxippus saw in that weakness, and it made him manipulatable. His sides ached, but he would make Arcana pay for her transgression - for daring to stand up to him. But it would not come from her own flesh. Oh no. That was much too easy. Too shortsighed.
Two brightly colored soquili soquili raced to join them in the thicket and a truly wicked smile spread across Taraxippus's face. That scent, those markings. These were the real parents of the little changeling. He would strike a blow much deeper and much harsher than he ever could take from her own flesh.
"Did you forget the lessons you learned in the shadow herd, little Arcana? You do not stand up to me. You do not get away with insolence such as that. I will make certain you never forget again."
He was watching the flutter out of the corner of his eye - the one that looked very similar to arcana - dark with blue markings. And pretending he didn't see him until the last moment as the flutter charged him Taraxippus reared up and then grabbed the diminutive stallion by the wing, redirecting him - hard - into the ground.

Megaera was knocked violently to the side and nearly to the ground as she collided with Stormfall, coughing and screeching. But more than the pain and bruises and probably cracked rib she suffered, she screamed in horror as she saw Legion go for her daughter. She was more terrified that this mare would keep her from protecting her daughter than any harm she might cause her body.
She pumped, hard, with her wings, her flight stilted and a much more difficult war with gravity than it had been before the collision. But despite her advancing years, despite having mellowed after bearing two sets of children, there was still something of the Fury within the mare for which she was named. And seeing her daughter under attack, it seemed to burst back into fiery life.
"LET HER GO!" She bellowed again, charging straight for her herdmate Legion. "She's my daughter, you beast!"
She was filled with a white-hot rage - her relatively simple mind couldn't contain much more than that right now. But if he didn't release her by the time she reached him, she was fully prepared to attack.

Infernum knew he should have trusted Megaera to be able to fend for herself. She was older, but she was his dam, and no small amount of the stallion's brutal strength came from her. He watched as her flaming mare scalded their advesary, and helped set him up for the main attack.
Infernum was pleased to see the mare's distraction by his sister. He didn't slow his charge, but beat his leathery wings faster, taking advantage of the situation. He drew his forelegs in close and rammed Stormfall with his tucked legs, letting his hard wrists be the point of impact.
He attack, however, was thrown near the last moment as he heard his mother call out to another mare as "daughter". But that wasn't Psyche....
Psyche smiled around the creature as she landed about a dozen yards from the brown mare, her wings poised behind her. She breathed a sigh of relief inwardy as Megaera soared away from the other mare. The collission had looked painful, but she made it away, at least.
Slowly, very slowly, she opened her mouth to release the creature, hoping that she'd see an epic collision as her brother charged the now distracted mare.

Barghest began to develop a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach as the charge built and his fur began to stand on edge. He glanced upwards with a curl of his lip as the clouds gathered overhead and lightning arced ominously overhead. This did not bode well.
And then, a flash of pain as the horned mare caught up and caught his wing. She tore him from the stallion's back, nearly causing him to lose his hold on the updrafts all together.
He had already knocked the stallion off of Firestorm. He wasn't going to stick around and get struck by lightning. Barghest was familiar with omens - both supernatural and natural. He jabbed out with a front paw towards the mare, knocking her off of his now aching wing. Then he wasted no time fleeing towards the ground where he saw Xibalba waiting and watching. An ally. Thank the spirits. He raced groundwards as a flash zapped right behind him where he had been not five seconds before.
He risked a glance over his shoulder. The glowing four-winged soquili was in pursuit.

Xibalba grinned inanely at Barghest as he landed before him, panting heavily. Barghest had barely stopped since he arrived in the territory, flitting from one encounter to another, and Xibalba could tell that the powerful stallion looked like he was in over his head.
"Do not worry, Bar-guest." He said in his accented cadence. "You know de spirits, almost as well as I. Dey would not have guided us here had we not meant to come. Now, I stand by your side, and we fight dem together, yes?"
Barghest didn't respond, but his hears flicked backwards. Maybe he didn't have the same trust in the spirits as Xibalba did.

Stormcloud bit down HARD on the flying dog's wing as she yanked him off of her mate's back. fur bristling as the charge built up around her as well. She wasn't expecting him to be as agile as he was, as he spun mid flight and lashed out at her with a paw. It hit her square on the nose, making her lose her grip, despite her fury at being knocked off so easily. It wasn't a hoof, it didn't bear nearly the same force had the stallion had hooves like a normal soquili.
She staggered back, shaking her head to recover her sight from the strke to her sensitive nose as she watched her mate's eyes glow brightly and lightning struck where the cur had been not moments before. She swore under her breath as she watched her mate's wingbeats slow, exhaustion washing over his features.
"Rest," She said with a growl in her voice. "I can take care of that mongrel!" She boasted as she sailed towards the ground where the beast had landed.

Maelstrom has been CAPTURED by Firestorm Both these Soquili have left combat. FORM FOR USE BY BOTH CAPTURER AND CAPTUREE Thunderbird captors can come back into combat in 48 hours Shadow Herd captors must drag their quarry out of combat, they cannot return to combat for 1 calendar week NOTE: Firestorm is maxed outFirestorm looked down at his estranged sister with a truly depraved look. The once proud alicorn, son of Balrog was gone, replaced with a creature of vengeance and madness. He stepped off of her without a moment's regard or conscience. Pleased that Barghest and Xibalba had stepped in to distract that freak pretender, Firestorm leaned down, biting down hard of Maelstrom's wing, rewarded with another shrill whinny. She could still feel that, apparently.
And then he began to drag her, towards the edge of the territory. Towards the waterfall where half of his attacking force had been waiting. The same place he had once met his mate, Shinoma. And beneath which he had constructed the alter, just as the fox had prescribed.
"You will be my offering, Maelstrom." He said around a mouthfull of feathers as he looked straight ahead. He had enough wherewithall to avoid the other fights going on, his focus was on this, despite how detached he felt from everything else right now. The rest of them would finish this war while he took her - his sacrifice.
He stook with her, strugglilng helplessly in his grasp as he stood over the roaring waterfall. "Time for you to fall, Maelstrom." He echoed hollowly as he stood for just a moment before pushing her off and watched her fall limply down, down down, until she hit the water with a hard slapping sound. He watched her every foot of the way, not taking to wing to follow until she had landed below.

Note: Cataclysm is already maxed in stats. Cataclysm clenched her teeth in pain as the skeletal mare latched on. Thankfully she didn't hit a vital area, but Cataclsym could still feel the force and power behind the attack. She reared, knocking the mare over her shoulders and onto the ground. Though, she felt the fiery mare refuse to let her go. Her shoulder pulled painfully as Lamia crashed the ground, taking Cataclysm's wing with her. Her wing-shoulder wrenched at an awkward angle and Cata yelped. She fell with the mare, letting her weight fall off her hooves under and and tried to hand hard over her as they both toppled to the ground.
Tisiphone growled and snapped at the spotted stallion, making an impress display of her ferocity. Her flames exploded outward; harmless but intimidating as she swung her head and gnashed her boney teeth.
The spotted stallion was injured, and she was hoping to scare him away so she could focus on helping her daughter, Lamia, with the fight with the more impressive combative mare. Though to his credit, he still came forward. Injured or not, he lashed out with his good hoof.
Tisiphone didn't have desire to kill. But as his attack, she reared up and landed hard on his good leg, putting on her body weight onto the joint, tying to break it. As soon as his head was close the ground, TIsi raised her boned hoof and hit it hard against the younger stallion's temple.

ASPEN is KNOCKED OUT This Soquili is now out of combat, and should be ignored by aggressors. The knocked out Soquili can still be captured if the character is open to capture in their form. The mare was a frightning visage - and had she been wearing a skull on her face or - dear lord could it possibly be her face? - Aspen might have thought that he was seeing double. But he would not back down. He had known a good, easy life, but that didn't mean he wasn't prepared to stand for his convictions.
A moment later, Aspen wished he hadn't. His shoulder lurched out of socket as the orange mare landed hard on his leg. He screamed, the pain blinding him to the next attack. Her hoof came down hard on his head. The world exploded into motes of light and then.... he sank into unconciousness.

Azure didn't have a plan. He wasn't a fighter, or a warrior. He just knew what he felt he needed to. As the impact drew closer and closer, Azure closed his eyes and tried to mentally prepare himself for the impact. He was planning to hit Tara broad-sided, using the big muscles of his neck to give the most surface area.
But as he got close - right before the little flutter reached his target, Tara turned his head. He grabbed the wing and redirected the good-intended little stallion directly into the ground. He hit hard - his neck twisting in an unnatural angle a s he landed - pain shooting all the way down his spine as he crumpled under the shock.
His wing ripped like tissue paper as he fell, leaving a good quarter his delicate flutter paper-like wings in Tara's mouth.
"NOoooooo!!" Kamiki screamed as Azure his the ground, hard. She winced as she saw him hit; knowing it wasn't a fall he was going to easily get up from. "No!" she whinnied, rearing up with eyes walleyed from fear. The beast was left standing there, a tattered, ragged piece of Azure's wing in his mouth. She had to do something! If she just stood there, Tara would attack again and he would kill Azure, if not Azure and her daughter, Arcana, both!
She rushed in, aiming her silver horn at Tara. She closed her eyes and just ran, hoping she would hit her target. As a unicorn she really wasn't prone to violence, but if they were going to hurt her family she wasn't just going to stand by and let it happen. Perhaps once this was over, she could practice her healing; help out where she could. Maybe even she could find a way to patch Azure's busting wing...

Malfeas flared his wings with a boisterous laugh as the weak angeni-thing flew towards him. Imposter. Impersonator. He may have looked like an angeni, but there was no true power there. Just too many wings to get tangled up. Malfeas would ENJOY this. Maybe he would tear all four of them from the stallion and wear them as a trophy. Show other soquili that he could take down an angeni with four matching wings.
But as Malfeas was gloating preparing to drive his sharp, cloven hooves into the striped stallion, he did something unexpected. Right as he was lashing out with the hooves, the stallion dipped, and head-butted him hard in his stomach.
The breath felt like it was torn from Malfeas in an icy exhale and he lost his grip on the skies. His wings stopped flapping as his body locked up and he began to fall like a stone.

Zion almost surprised himself as his attack found its home. The ghostly stallion was too busy gloating to see his plan. He heard the sharp exhale as he drove his skull hard into the soquili's diaphram and kept flying forward. Only when he was able to circle around was he able to see the full effect of his attack.
The bat-winged stallion had begun to fall, gasping and wheazing as he scrambled for purchase in the thin air.
He ears canted forward and he breathed in, surprised once more. For a moment there, he had thought that he was done for.... but he was fighting for his home, and this monster could NOT take it from him!
He pumped his wings, following after the monster to make certain he didn't recover.

MAELSTROM has been CAPTURED by FIRESTORM Both these Soquili have left combat. FORM FOR USE BY BOTH CAPTURER AND CAPTUREE Thunderbird captors can come back into combat in 48 hours Shadow Herd captors must drag their quarry out of combat, they cannot return to combat for 1 calendar week MAELSTROM is DYING This Soquili is now out of combat. Immediate medical attention required, if its not already too late! Everything seemed to be moving torturously slow as Firestorm dragged Maelstrom towards the edge of the herdgrounds. Out of pure force of will and strength of spirit, Maelstrom managed to stay conscious as he dragged her, although she couldn't summon the breath to say anything.
She fought, weakly, as she was dragged by the wing, but it didnt' even seem to register on Firestorm's face if he noticed.
And as she was pushed over the edge, desperately, she tried to flap, to use the rising force of wind from the waterfall to take flight.... but one wing was broken, and her back was undenyably crushed. And all she could do was brace for impact as she went over the falls and plunged into the icy waters beneath it.
This final force of impact robbed Maelstrom of her consciousness, though her body was already in shock... but she still desperately clung to life. She was unaware as another figure followed her down, and dragged her to the shore - and that the worst yet was in store for her.
