Her second attempt with this bird went much better. A spot on hit, and with a fair amount of force behind it. Taking nearly a minute to aim seemed to have paid off this time. "Nice!" She said it to the bird, but meant it for herself, too. The hedgehog hit the squire, then tried waddling away again. "Oh, no you don't! We're not done!" Chasing the hedgehog down seemed to wind her a little. Getting him and the bird lined up was harder than before. Aim, swing and... hedgehog in the bushes. No where near a squire. "Silly me." Her aim was terrible sometimes. Or it was the bird. Or her live ball. So many variables. Shrugging, she went to retrieve Mr. Hedgehog again. Hedgehog in hand, she returned to try again. Honestly, this game was difficult. Her bird seemed very done, too. He just went limp in her hands. Barely even nudged the hedgehog. At least she wouldn't have to chase him. "Okay, I'll let you go, too." She released the bird. He looked at her like it was all her fault she'd been failing. It...might have been, but he'd not helped. Too much. As she turned to head back toward the flamingos, she kicked her hedgehog. "Oh my word! I am so sorry!" She scooped him up and cuddled him, spikes and all. (She was very careful.) She set the hedgehog down long enough to catch a new bird. There was some running involved, but not much. The bright pink bird was very hard to miss. "Alright! Up to you," she told it. Bird, hedgehog, one more squire to hit. She could do this. Or so she thought. It didn't matter that she spent a full two minutes setting up her next hit. Hedgehog ended up no where near a target. Instead, he very nearly hit a rose tree. "Oh dear." Her wily bird, with all his wing moving, did settle down enough to be a decent mallet, at least long enough to let her hit the hedgehog. Who the proceeded to hit a knight. The very last one she needed. "Great!" She did it! Her bird was given a hug, the hedgehog a cuddle, and all the while the those who put her up to this applauded. And then started to argue. It was okay. She could just put the hedgehog down and slowly back away. Not before making sure she'd seen about getting loot, of course. She knew how this all worked by now.
