Her slashes did not make contact and he avoided her. Immediately she received a hard hit to the side of her knee, causing her to grunt before she felt the sting of a blade cutting across her back. Her bones were formidable, replaced with such a light, strong material that they did not budge from their purposed position. She may develop bruises from the impact to her skin, but her stance and balance remained true through the kick. The blade to her back, however, bared her skin beneath her garments. Blood quickly made its way to the surface of her skin and she bared her teeth in a wild snarl. The cut was painful, but not deep, something she could easily push through. She would have to approach this differently. Continuing this way, she would only tire herself and take small hits and jabs through in the process. If she did land a strike while trying to keep on pressure, it would be rare. No, she would have to use patience, hearing and vision before striking, like a viper to it's prey. She remained in her spot, her pupils dilating to take in every bit of light, heat and movement possible.

As they danced around each other, she shook her head, her eyes fierce and focused. "I would never wish for you to hold back, Captain... What true test of skill would that be? I suppose we just have different ideas of what is skill and what is cowardice. Nevertheless... Give all you have to try and take my life. It won't matter." She cared not if her words were offensive, hurtful or dangerous. Emotion was something she rarely allowed herself and when she did, it was usually at the detriment of others and not herself. She enjoyed picking at people, chipping away at them. Whether anything she ever said made its way under his skin was something she did not know, but it was so second nature to her that she didn't care.

Nor did she care about death. Live or die, this was a game to her. Though ambition she had to return to her new mentor and lay this man down at the feet of the King... see the pleased look in his eyes at her success... if she died, she would have lived freely and enjoyed every moment of building and exploiting her power and desires. Regardless, she had no doubt that even with this man's enhancements she would succeed one way or another. She was tenacious and resolute in her goals and would stop at nothing until she succeeded or was dead. Those who have failed to capture him in the past were just to weak-willed and untrained, surely.

Her eyes darted around her and she picked up movement to her side, but did not make a move right away. She would track him, focus on evading his movements for a time and reverse the tactics. Watching and waiting as the blood dripped down her back now, soaking slowly into her clothing.

This was how he fought and he enjoyed this dance. On his lips was his glamorous smile as always. This was something he was good at and also a reason why he stopped at the captain rank. The thrill of the fight, putting your life on the table and showing your hand, one card at a time. Thomas was behind her, she was searching for him, the pattern was clear. Moving of the head, back and fourth. Eyes registration any sort of change. Oh this little vixen was a good one. It was not time to mess with her head just yet, time to keep being invisible. The surface mas good and silent, he kept his breath. Weight passed to his right leg as a kick aimed at the fold of her right knee. At the same time his left hand was formed into a fist and went to punch with the bottom part of it at the bones just below the throat.

This attack was made in a step and was continued with a few more, success or not. The goal was to knock your opponent to the ground in a fluent motion. As the attack was basically a step it was a good way to knock down a hunter and start running away. Well here Thomas took just a few steps and turned around. His eyes never left his opponent though. "A man with strength augs who can bend a I-beam is not considered a coward for using it only regular soldiers." A step backwards was made with swift feet. "A person who has armoured skin, is not seen a coward. A man using mental slaves in battle is considered a king. I'll take being your coward any day." It was a gentle tone to Thomas. A quick sidestep to his right. "Now what will you be to me?" A double sidestep to the right.

Those blades of hers looked kinda spooky and seemed to be able to hurt quite a lot. Wonder if she liked to hurt men, curious thought came to mind for quarter of a second. I'll ask her later, he made a mental note of and brushed the thought aside as quick as it had arrived. Maybe getting more daggers and knives where the way to go here but then he'd be more tied down in his movements. Holding one knife gave just as much edge as two and a free hand meant he could grab her where she could only parry. Well if she saw him coming that was.

Scoffing at Dr. Lumen, Erakai waved his hand as though dismissing the doctor. "Please. You think I will do anything for her either? I will do nothing for anyone.. Save one single person.." His voice trailed off as he thought about that one person he would do anything for. His sister... His beloved sister... After a moment, he snapped out of his little reverie. Well.. for a brief moment.. "But you will never get them for me. I will be the one who finds them.. And I will track them to the end of the world and save them from the fall. I won't let her down.. Not again.." By the time he had finished talking, he was looking off into the distance again. He was clearly becoming upset though when he heard his shadows again, he seemed to calm a little. Wait... What had he just said?!! Her... He had said her! He had just given that away!! No.. NO no his sister.... He couldn't ever lead anyone to her!! His eyes snapped up angry and confused. "Just.... go away and leave me alone!! Let me out of here! Let me show you what my power can really do!"

As he moved around her, he truly was invisible. As he took his time, held his breath, no movement in the air would form for her to keep track of. However, when he made his move to attack, the air rushing past his body, picking up and carrying his heat signature created a faint outline of his intended movement. She took a quick step back, just barely avoiding his kick to her knee and immediately arched her back and leaned backwards as his fist passed by in front of her. This movement continued fluidly as she bent all the way back to press her hands to the ground, blade handles too, and flip backwards twice to get out of his range of continuous attempts.

When she landed, she landed in a half crouch and spun the two blades at her sides in her hands in preparation, eyes darting around and focusing to pick up on his movements again. As long as she reacted quickly enough, she could keep the upper hand in this fight. By the first blows he landed on her, she could tell he was strong. Her frame wouldn't break so easily, but she was not strong enough to hold up against him. If he grabbed her, bared down on her or landed multiple blows, she'd barely have a chance at escape. She was confident that she would be able to counter him enough, though. This invisibility would get old quick, though... she had to think of a way to counteract it. Perhaps she could coat him in something... dirt, dust, water... anything that would give him some presence.

His words were intriguing, his tone soft and her lips curved into a subtle smile as he spoke. "Mmmm, my coward, hm? What do you want me to be to you, Captain?" Her eyes, while not focused on his, were on fire, wild and passionate. A soft, laugh rose from her throat as she looked around the alleyway for him and for any tool to use against him and his augmentations. She caught the tiniest inkling of movement to her left as he sidestepped to the right, although she gave no indication that she noticed. She looked up at the buildings and noticed the gutters above them. It was the only thing she had yet to notice that she could use and took note. As he was somewhere to her right, she decided to take a risk and rush towards him in a flurry of intricate, swift strikes with her two blades, spinning towards him and hoping to land a strike to injure or force him to move out of the way in avoidance so she could catch sight of him and apply more pressure in his direction.

So she could see him. Her ability to avoid him told him that. Well maybe not him but something around him. Eyes where special here, was that why she was sent? Did they believe she could see him where others could not. Well it was hard to her to truly see him that was clear. Her attacks where aimed towards him but no more then good guesses. Well as much as he liked this mental battle it was time to wrap it up. Long battles wasn't his style and would lead to his aid only. This made sounds and guards would shortly find them. Then it would all be over. As one of her daggers came close, he parried it with the back of his own. The ragged metal would shear her edge a tiny bit. Well as long as it was steel or a metal she had and not diamond but that seemed unlikely. The other dagger found some flesh on his left arm. On the same instant he would reappear and try and headbutt her with full might now that they where close enough. His hand also aimed to grab her free knife arm. Thus locking their limbs to each other.

The shock of him suddenly to come back was also a surprise that had worked in many times before. He was a bit closer then though or too the left. It changed reality and was sudden. It caused the brain to pause with most and hopefully would give him that valued quarter second to take real advantage of it. "My guest and prisoner. That way you won't be taken by the guard that's closing in. It will save your neck"

She felt one of her blades hit steel and another flesh. She pressed against the blade and against his solid form. There was no way she would be able to overpower him. Her pride at hitting her mark was short lived. He reappeared in full form right before and her eyes widened slightly, though her face showed gave away no other surprise. She was startled, but relieved that she could see her opponent once more. Not for long, as he grabbed her, locking around her arm and aiming a swift headbutt to her skull with a sickening thud. Her head flew back in recoil and remained lulled backwards. She blinked for a moment, her vision flickering before her eyes as she tried to regain focus. Pain blossomed and spread from the impact and she closed her eyes for a moment, taking it in and trying to use it as strength, but she was failing. The warmth of blood made a slow path down the side of her face. She felt her limbs begin to buckle and fought hard against it, weak and fighting to keep consciousness. She lifted her head up and forward, merely an inch or two away from his own, here eyes looking straight into his as a soft, weak laugh left her smirking lips. "Let the guard take me. I'm not afraid of pain or death or torture... and I don't want or need to be saved by you." Although her voice was weak, it was filled with fearless hatred and defiance, she struggled in his grasp, wanting nothing more than to keep fighting. Her brows furrowed with determination as she focused on clearing her mind. Her hands still loosely gripped the blades in her hands.

His own head would feel the effect later. Bone padded by thin skin smacked into weaker bones and nerves. Unprepared shaking of the brain. Swelling and tears. The irony taste on the tongue as a backwards fall. Well this may turn chance into success. His thumb moved to press in her arm. The sensitive part where you could check for a pulse. It was now to disarm her. With this pressure point putting force upon he would twist the arm across their chests so e could slam his elbow to her temple. At the same time Thomas dropped his knife and grabbed the already grabbed arm and pushed down. A leg infront of hers and his weight should send them both crashing to the floor. With his chest on her right shoulder and her chest flat on the ground. Making her left arm safe to be ignored. The pressure point would still be pressed by his left hand and his right try and bend the arm against the hour to make her drop te blade.

"Don't make me snap it off like the twig it is" His teeth grind as he spoke giving him a tone of grit. If she would just play ball, well clearly she wouldn't drop down and be his, he must be lacking some. This woman was somewhat strong against his charmful looks. Well this was the second woman, she would not be happy about this. How good was her martial arts ad wrestling? Most slayers and assassins wasn't too fond nor good at this close combat. Skilled with blade and gun but avoided grabbers and all they stood for. A mountain lion was one you wrestled down and let escape alive. That way they hunt those with the "wrong" uniform. This wasn't a lion of the maintain but a cat none the less. "Surrender and get a chance to even this score or you'll loose with no chance of retribution"

Rage was building up inside of her at the turn of events... She could not fail. She would rather die than have to face Kale... and eventually the King, to admit her failure. This was not what she had worked for all these years, to be taken on her first mission in her new position under her mentor. She refused. She could not accept it herself. Her thoughts were in severe contrast to her position, locked together with this man she should have just killed what seemed like ages ago. Her eyes burned into his, wishing nothing more than for him to be lying motionless on the ground beneath her. Her eyes and face gave away no pain, no doubt, even as he pressed his thumb into the weak, fleshy part of her wrist with an immense amount of strength. Her grip on the blade in her hand weakened, although she mustered all the strength she had to remain solid on the ground and push back against him. After the blow to her head, it was much more difficult than it should have been.

In one swift, complex movement, her took her arm and pulled her down to crash chest first into the ground, his elbow making contact with the temple of her head in the process. The weight of his body landing on top of her and she grunted at the impact. She dropped her head gently on the ground, the second impact to her skull doing its damage. She was light headed, dizzy. She was not built for close combat like this, especially against those of such drastically different bodily makeup as hers. She may have been well equipped for close combat with someone as stealthy, quick and light as she, but not this. It stirred up the frustration in her further and she grunted more, writhing her body underneath his own in a fight to find way to maneuver around him.

She was stubborn, too stubborn for her own good. His grip and pressure into her arm tightened painfully, but she refused to drop her blade no matter how much it hurt, just off of principle. During this time, she was gaining control of her breath, her forehead to the ground, eyes closed and trying to recover from the blows to her head. She felt his head near her own and heard his words spoken, tone gruff. Hah, snap her arm! He'd have to give a little more than that to break them. Her felt her reinforced bones give slightly under the pressure, but no normal human strength could break them in without more force. He mentioned getting a chance to even the score. What the hell did that mean? Who would take someone prisoner and give them an opportunity for retribution and to get even? She couldn't wrap her head around it, however curious she was to the meaning of his words. But he wanted her to surrender.... surrender. The word made her sick. Surrender was the worst thing she could think of. To stop fighting, to give in, to fail willingly. No, she would never surrender to anyone, especially the enemy. "I don't... surrender." She said firmly, though with effort through her teeth. Her stubbornness, mixed with anger and determination gave her enough strength to let out a loud snarl and swiftly bring her head back to make contact with his in a last ditch effort to not only injure him, but perhaps break his grip enough for her to get free. At the very least, it would just hurt and piss him off, a thought which made her smile.

As his fingers held her grounded he could feel that there was more then you would guess when looking upon this girl. This arm would not break and Thomas did not think the joint would pop either. That made his threat pretty empty handed but her words marked her pretty well. A fighter to the end, something to admire. That was strength even if some saw it as folly. Then his left eye got a shake and teary. A lighting of pain went through his scheek followed with a warm drop in cold surface. A cut over his cheek bone just below the eye. That would be felt for a couple of days and then seen for more. That was annoying and he had to bite down not to grunt to loud. Well that put him in qite the odd positoin. On any normal day this would not look good but today nad with his uniform it did. To avoid further damage form this viper, Thomas sat up but placed his left knee on her right shoulder to keep her pinned down and right foot on her hand. Wouldn't want to get a knife in the kidney now.

With his right hand he grabbed his rifle and slammed it onto Kale. Not aiming to maul or kill her but to put her in a less awake state for a couple of hours which would give him time to move her to his home and dungeon. A prison in their cellar which he had built mostly to have a room to train on, how to escape. Now it was a very difficult place to escape form. Each method and trick he had thought on had been countered to improve his skill. This vixenw ould have ability to roam but cuffed and chained would prevent too much movement and there was scary old medival props, but they looked scary. pain was something Thomas avoided so it had given him motivation each time. Would this just be enough force to take her out she would wake to quite the surprise.

Rhega felt her head make contact with his face and a muffled grunt was heard from behind her. She smiled widely out of pure enjoyment and let out a genuine laugh in spite of her pain and lightheadedness. She felt him shift on top of her, pressing her hand into the ground with his boot, forcing her to open up her fingers, her palm resting over the handle of her blade and his knee dug into her shoulders. The pressure caused her to groan, which quickly grew into a growl, cut incredibly short by a hard blow to her head once more by the butt of a rifle. She immediately went black and limp, to remain unconscious for quite some time.

Thomas stood up and shook his head and breathed heavily. Now what? Well had she not been such a bloody hard work then maybe they could have walked to his home. Yet now he would have to carry her. This was a mess and Thomas had to solve it. The generals would get her after but he had to know how much they needed his head. That he would only get if he did the questions. With a quick move he secured her weapons and strapped his rifle to his back.

Looking. down at the limb body of a fighter who probably was going to have a serious headache next morning. Well thanks to her then he would have a shiner of his own. Well he bent down and checked that she was still knocked out and luckily she was. With some effort he picked her up over his shoulder and placed his coat over her. As he took the first step it occured to him how bad this looked like. This was clearly an odd position. Maybe just put a bullet in her head and call it quits. Many ideas came to him as he walked the long way home. As he crossed his garden and down to the cellar. A set of doors was passed before he put her down on a bed. He cuffed her hands and attached chains to the bed and connected electricity to them. If the silent alarm was tripped she would be shocked. Now he sat down on the other side and waited for her to come about.

Rhega had been out for more a handful of hours and it was now dark outside. Her consciousness was coming back slowly. First, she could faintly hear sounds and she could sense light coming through her eyelids. A dull pain in her head surfaced and only grew more and more intense, spreading. A few moments later, she was able to slowly move around, still weak. She went to move her hand to her head to hold it and examine it, but her movement was stopped short. She tried again, confused and could not move her arm further and she heard clinking. Her consciousness began to come more quickly to her and she furrowed her brows, pulling her wrist again, harder. Clink, it was stopped. She slowly began to pull her knees to her chest, feeling a weight on them too as the chains dragged.

After this began to sink in with her, she opened her eyes quickly, with anger, and looked around her. She was in a room, most likely a cellar. Her eyes darted to the chains at her hands and feet, moved along them to their source and noted that they were connected to some device... electric perhaps. She would be careful not to find out just yet. Anger was boiling up inside her... How could she let this happen! She had no words. This failure was unacceptable... She heard a faint noise, then looked around the room in its entirety and her eyes fell on Greymane sitting in the corner. Her demeanor changed immediately, a cool, seductive smile spreading across her lips as she looked at him. "Ahh... Captain. I see you like a girl in chains. I never would have pegged you for the S&M type." Her smile spread further to one side, her lips pursing into a smirk.

Kale Winters
User Image

When the hound is unleashed,

Kale had been keeping himself occupied since Rhega entered the city. Placing his special 'mini' bombs along the wall from the treeline, while listening to the signal from the earpiece. Piecing together a fairly accurate picture of what was happening. He took note of ways that she could have used her particular skills more to her advantage. Though she had made some bad tactical decisions, she fought well against a strong opponent that clearly outclassed her when it came to close quarters, open combat. A bit disappointed that she hadn't been able to avoid capture, he liked that she did not yield to the enemy. This alone was enough to grant his protege another chance. Had she given in his mission would have been to silence her.
Flicking one last 'mini' bombs at the wall he pulled back into the shadowy forest to the east of the wall. Once sufficiently distanced from the city he prepped his flight device and it wasn't too long before he was ready to infiltrate Nias by air, their weakest security spot. This method was not his favored, but if he was to achieve the goal of this method was needed. There would still be plenty of time to make a boom and leave his mark before taking his prizes.
Flicking a switch a humming noise started and a set of black wings slid out from under his cloak. A moment later Kale was sky-borne and silently gliding through the black of the nearly moonless night. He circled like a bird several times, logging guard locations, movement and patterns, before carefully moving in and landing in an alley near the Target's home. As he landed in the shadows he heard Rhega's voice through the earpiece again. His metal wings retracted into his suit and he stood there like an ominous statue at the end of the alley, waiting and listening before making his next move.

You better watch more than just your back.

Her movement was dull and slow, cuncussion maybe. Well sooer or later she would be better. Her life mattered little against the information she kept, that she gave and what he would take. The difference in the two would be her ticket and her neck. The chains gave the chime that every prisoner made when moving. Did he hit her that hard? Well she had been stubborn about the whole thing. Well none the less she would know how much it hurt and stay calm. Time to wait and look as now he would know her state of mind and what sort of tech. She seemed as a soldier taking in notes and clearly. Then she spoke and it made the world clear. She was willing and not a slave. The word enemy could have been lit in a flare and smacked on her forehead. Well this was an assassin and mental prisoners where merely canon fodder as to Thomas experience. So not such a dissaspointing surprise.

With a short laugh combine sigh Thomas stood up. He had hoped for a moment that he could see the traces when the chip was countered by the chock to the head. "Now If I showed you all my sides do you think I'd live to tell the tale? As for your position, what would you have done? Oh right your house is quite far from the pub. And wether I like girls in chains or not is part of the question. You stay in them until I'm pleased. So first few questions. What is the reward for my head? What is my fate in the south? Did you leave your base alone?" There was no threat in his voice, no bark of a commander. After all there was no point in rushing this.

As the Captain spoke to her, Rhega's eyebrows began to arch upwards, one further than the other. He was confident, that was for sure. And he had right to be towards her, seeing her current situation. However, he was very overconfident. Like she would break so easily... A soft laugh began to emanate from her and grow into a full blown, genuine laugh in the cellar. This continued for a minute or two before she forced herself to quiet down to a chuckle, "Oh, Greymane.... Do you honestly expect to receive answers so easily? Or at all? Pathetic.." She was still smiling at him.

Her expression and demeanor was drastically different from what was going on within her. While she was no where near to panic, her mind was racing. Anger and frustration with herself and at this man was still coursing through her veins. She had not heard any communication from Kale in all this time. It would not surprise her if she were left to die. Failure was unacceptable and the South was brutal and unforgiving, which she admired and respected. She would have gladly abandoned anyone weak enough to get caught if she were in his position. She deserved to be where she was and she would accept torture and death without a second thought. In fact, she was sure that she could still have fun with this fox until her last breath. However, in spite of whatever he did, and she was sure that it would not be impressive nor creative in method and execution, he would never get a word out of her. A failure she may be, but she was still loyal to the King and his cause. She would love nothing more than to watch their enemies burn. Every single one of them. She was only sad that there was a chance she may not be there to watch the life leave the eyes of her enemies first hand. Her eyes lit up in ferocity as she watched him. She would give anything to drain the life out of him herself. She resolved to spend every moment fighting to escape and complete her mission, taking this man dead or alive and gain redemption.
