Instantly the tiny blue’s expression softened. His eyes no longer whirling an intense red. He gave a soft croon and stretched out his neck toward the healer. If that is your wish ChrysicaiMine, I will obey. Are we going to stay up here long? I'm Genith, and I'd like you to feed me now.

She watched as the blue that was in the sands impressed and she felt herself smile. As much as she wanted to be a rider she was proud of all the others who were lucky enough to impress so far. She knew that if it was meant to be then she would be fortunate enough to join the ranks of the dragon riders.

She looked back over to Fiolen, she was almost concerned for him. If he didn't impress she would make sure to keep a careful eye on him. She still didn't fully understand him and until she did she'd monitor him. Aww, she was being protective. She guessed she could consider him her first friend and that was kind of a big step for her.

He was not sure if having two healers among the dragon candidates could be counted as fortunate or not. Knowledge was useful, but only if they would be allowed to practice it. Wen own craft translated well into dragonriding, it was just taking a second step. Guard / Dragon rider more dangerous step but one he had been willing to take.

Time would see.

Lanky Blue lifted his head high, staring straight through a tiny slip of a thing that seemed to be shielding him from his intended target. His eyes flashed pure red before he began to trudge forward with intent, his dark-edged wings flailing open and giving a powerful flap of irritation that cracked the air.

He wanted... he NEEDED..

Fiolen was in the way, and the blue ROSE to his hind legs, looking the boy square in the eyes. The feminine male's horror reflected a thousand times over in the blue's ruby facets, and the blue growled low.

The boy was not quick enough to move for the blue, whose wing reached out and roughly tossed the boy aside into the wet sand. Only Naressa stood before him now, and his wings splayed wide, flapping gently to steady him. As awkward and gangly a creature as he was, he stood on his overlong hind legs and looked intently into her eyes, sizing her up and searching her gaze for something... perhaps acceptance. Was he good enough for her? Would she be honest, forthright, and never trick and deceive him? These questions seemed to loom heavy in the air, like the aura of emotions that they had exuded while in their shells.

One of his hind legs came up and tucked into his body, and for a long moment he stood there suspended, standing so very similar to wherries when they roosted, resting upon one leg. Except he was much more graceful.. at least for a moment before he bodily slumped against the candidate, his wings closing to caress her tightly and hold her to him. They were both wet and slippery and he clung with all of his might, the thumbspars on his wings tangling in her wet hair and there was pain, and he creeled his apology emphatically.

Please, be honest. Be just. Be Mine.. Naressa.

Cai

...

...

...

Cai's mouth was dry. His vision greyed at the edges and slowly, sluggishly, he sank to his knees right where he stood. A faint touch of irriation teased his otherwise blank mind at the hearing of his full name, but otherwise he was stunned. Shocked. His hands felt cold and heavy as cromcoal.

Chrys? or maybe Cai? Cai then? Cai? Cai. Mine. Wake up! The rainbow whirl had transitioned to a more alarmed yellow. He lifted one clawed hand and swiped at the air in front of Cai's face, creeling in alarm. Genith put his forelegs on Cai's knees and thumped his head against the unresponsive healer's chest. Snap out of it!

Cai's arms flexed of their own accord and wrapped around the hatchling's neck in what might have looked like a hug to anyone not them. "Genith?" He rasped. His hands flattened against the smooth blue hide, sliding down and gripping tight to the small round shoulder joints. "Genith." His voice was steadier this time, though heavily coated with disbelief.

Cai's first coherent thought was who had slipped him the fellis juice and when could he kill him. The next was dear Faranth this was the most beautiful and amazing thing he had ever laid eyes on in his entire life. That's better. You scared me. His tone was of light chastisement as he rubbed his head against Cai's chest. The contact there would have evoked a violent reaction from anyone else, but Genith knew Cai. Knew him better than even Cai himself possibly, and Cai was ok with that. It only seemed right that Genith loved him the way he did.

The gears finally started moving at full speed and Cai sucked in a sharp breath. He had Impressed. He hadn't intended to, and this was a Very. Bad. Thing. So help the person who tried to take Genith away from him though. He would kill anyone who so much as laid an uninvited hand on his dragon. "Let's get you taken care of." He climbed to his feet and turned towards the stairs then paused again, turning back and eyeing Genith clinically.

No! Genith protested even as Cai's arms wrapped underneath him and the healer hauled him up to his chest, craddling the small, tired, blue carefully and descending quickly from the Sands. "Shaff your dignity we're not taking forever crossing those blasted sands to get you fed."

She had recalled Fiolens longing gaze towards the mewing blue and she wondered why it hadn't just decided on a candidate. She was in the process of counting how many were left to impress when the Lanky Blue made it's way towards her and Fiolen. Oh, perhaps he would impress finally.

She was wrong.

She heard a growl and watched as his small frame was tossed aside and she shook her head. She was going to have to work with him on his confidence. He truly needed to get a spine and she was going to be the one to help him if it killed her.

Her attention was quickly averted from him before she could ask if he was alright because she was dealing with a rather interesting problem. Was he going to lash out at her? She watched carefully, keeping her ground, as he rose up, long and slender his gaze level with hers. She hadn't been aware at how incredibly large they were until she was face to face with this Blue.

She stared back at him as his eyes searched hers and she watched as he stood there so gangly yet graceful and she couldn't help but feel his emotional turmoil radiating from him. Truly he was good enough for her she couldn't help but smile a little and then his voice was in her mind just as he slumped against her wings surrouding her and thumbspars catching in her waist length har. She cringed as claws and wings clung to her but she didn't cry out. It stung but it was managable.

Please, be honest. Be just. Be Mine.. Naressa.

"As I shall always be my Reciproth."She spoke back to him holding his weight the best she could. It was a strange sensation, his voice in her mind and his emotions entertwining with her own. This was the most wonderful and most magnificent experience she could have ever imagined.

Now to untangle herself and her Blue. There was no way her hands could reach back to untangle his claws from her hair and the more he tried the more tangled it became. Her hands came up to hold his claws so they didn't dig into her shoulders any more than what they had. Boy he was heavy for as thin as he was.

She cleared her throat and Reciproth seemed to follow her gaze as she looked at Fiolen. "You're not hurt are you?" And here she was with a dragon stuck in her hair and slight cuts on her shoulders. "Can you please help untangle us?" Hopefully that would usher him up from the sands quicker. He definitly didn't need to be moping around right now.

Him Mine? The blue turned his gaze back to her and seemed to almost wonder what she saw in him. He seemed to understand though, he needed her strenght and her honesty as much as he had chosen her for those traits.

Edit: Will be RP'ing Fiolen for untangling purposes

Had the dragonet finally seen him? The Lanky Blue walking this way seemed to stare through him still. He yearned for the creature to see him and acknowledge him but it seemed that it wasn't to be. The Blue growled and shoved him out of the way easily and he fell to the sands in a heap. Was he so unworthy? His longing gaze was averted to the commotion behind him and he realized that his initial assumption had been correct. He had found her worthy of his companionship and he had simply been in the way.

He was covered in wet, sticky sand and would have probably just sat there if it wasn't for Naressa. He looked up at her, tears in the corners of his eyes threatening to fall and he recalled she had asked if he was alright. His confidence was pretty much done but physically he was alright. He was uninjured for the most part. He noticed then why she was asking for his help. The blue's thumbgrips were tangled in her long hair and not getting out anytime soon. He stood up and brushed the sand from his hands and looked at the blue cautiously, surely since he had impressed there wasn't going to be an issue, but sometimes one never knew. He untangled her hair from his wings quickly and he stood back as the wings came outwards and folded in back towards the dragon. "I see he found you worthy." He gave her as best a smile he could. He was happy for her.

The Shooting Star blue was having a grand old time enjoying himself in the rain. Rolling around in the puddle, he scooted himself along the ground with his back feet before hopping up with a few gleeful hoots, trotting towards the candidates positively coated with mud! Hello, people! Wasn't this stuff just fantastic? Moving in to investigate the people out on the sands, the blue meandered his way through, all the while rubbing up against candidates, reaching up to nose chests and sides, smearing mud on the damp, generally pristine robes of those standing. Seeing all the people was so nice, in his eagerness to get around to everyone, his tail occasionally thumped against shins and thighs as he turned or cause a few candidates to stagger as he tried to squeeze between closely grouped people, pausing to croon an apology and offer a nuzzle if someone cried out in surprise or mild hurt.

(Y'all, feel free to have your candidates react to getting bumped or tail whipped. Or no, I'll leave that up to you. )

When the shooting star blue made his way to her section of the female candidates Mairin grinned. The young woman was plenty happy to offer a little cheer for him and accepted it when her robes gained several dark streaks as she received the affection he seemed so willing to give. A gentle headbutt to the torso was preferable to being knocked to the ground and risking get wet sand in unmentionable places. Much as she loved the ocean and the playing by the seashore Mairin had never cared for the itching that came from elusive grains of sand hiding on her body. It was one thing between your toes and another entirely the higher up you went.

She'd need to bathe after this regardless though, a nice warm soak wouldn't go amiss both for cleaning and comfort purposes.

Mairin gave a soft sigh as the blue departed moving on to another candidate. He was a nice one, full of life and not afraid to get dirty. In her mind there was so much potential in him and for the first time this clutch she felt a longing for a specifc dr- no!

No she wasn't going to do this again, no expectations and no presumptions. Reaching up to fiddle with the end of her braid for comfort Mairin took a few deep breaths and re-directed her focus at the other hatchlings.

The pale bronze made his way through the boys, quite literally. Bumping into each boy as he passed, he only paused twice, once to claw at a boy who didn't move fast enough, and then to study Dolmar. Hm. Yes. This one was his. He gazed up at the boy for a long moment, before butting his torso gently with his head.

There you are, Mine. I was beginning to think you hadn't come. Your brother has Impressed as well, I see. Good. My brother will take care of him, as I will take care of you. You are mine, Dolmar. Together we will take care of the ones who need us most.

Demanthra

Demanthra continued to watch as more dragons seemed to emerge, including one from behind his golden mother. Where in the world did he come from, there didn't appear to be any eggs and there was no evidence it had been in the sands. So where could it have come from, perhaps the egg shell was behind his mother, where they couldn't see it. She also noticed another blue come out of the shooting star egg and she smiled, seeing how much it wanted to play. She giggled softly seeing him play in a puddle, he certainly did not mind the rain. She hoped he got a rider who shared his love of such things. Then she noticed the hostile blue impress to a healer, that was two healers for this clutch. She started to wonder if she was not good enough? She pushed that thought aside and kept a smile on her lips, seeing a bronze impress as well.

Astriana

Astriana had been watching that one blue, silently urging him to find his rider. The noises he made touched her heart and she couldn't help but feel sorry for him a little bit. When he seemed to impress, she was cheering on the inside, and did so for the blue and the bronze she saw also make their choices. She was surprised there was another healer though, what was going on for this clutch? Was the candidates not good enough..was she not going to get a dragon this time? She started to dwell on that worry a little, it starting to eat her up inside, not noticing as the happy blue came past and almost knocked her off her feet. She was about to growl, when she heard his apology and sighed instead. He was just an excitable baby, she could deal with that.

Ashlyn and Gyafrith

What is with all of these hidden eggs and dragons? Should they not be visible, like the other eggs? Someone could have stepped on them and it isn't fair for them to have to claw their way out,Gyafrith thought to his rider.

"I can only assume it is some kind of mistake, there weren't hidden eggs in our clutch..least none that I remember. That is something we can ask T'rel later, maybe he will know. And awww, that blue, he is cute. He is quite a happy thing. And two healers this clutch, should be interesting. I think this group will keep up on our toes,"Ash spoke, Gyafrith adding his agreement to that.

Hello Kosth, good to see you made it. Is your rider down in the stands? And Ashlyn mine, I am sure he is fine and was not hurt by the blue that went into the stands,Gyafrith spoke, noticing the green dragon and feeling his rider's worry about T'anis.

Without much prompting, scratching seemed to come from within the confines of the Forest egg. After a few minutes of scraping away at the inside, the hatchling within pushed upward. The weakened shell scattered away, briefly giving a sneak peek at four legs disappearing back down into the remaining portion of the dappled shell. The egg had always had a stable position in the sands so there was no rocking and rolling for this hatchling. Nope. Apparently rolling over onto his feet, the little brown hurdled out of the Forest egg without much fanfare or showing off. There was something that needed doing. He was set on finding His.

The brown was doubtless in that His was here. He approached the boys and paused to give them a once over. The Forest hatching shook himself and made a beeline for the girls. Sidestepping around his muddy blue brother, he could be seen looking up into the various girl's faces as he approached. His was here. Ah, there.

Marching to stand in front of Mairin, he held his head up and sat down in front of her, gazing up to meet her gaze with his own, his eyes whirling vibrantly with his Impression. 'No, MairinMine, my brother is not for you. Don't be sad, for I am your Vidarth, and, together there is nothing we can't do.'

S'aen and Jaecath could only watch as one Impression followed another, as it seemed that the brown's siblings were finally realizing why they were there. Good!

The stands impression was still the biggest surprise for S'aen, finding it rather perfect that the healer that was brave enough to clean up after the youngster's path of terror would be the one it would bond to. Quite perfect, really. He smiled to himself and slowly slid to the ground; landing flat on his butt before leaning against Jaecath. The day had indeed been a long one, and the mental exhaustion of such a once in a lifetime ordeal was beginning to have its toll. He wasn't on the verge of passing out or the like, but it didn't help that his dragon was full to the brim and growing sleepy as a symptom.

We will rest soon, Mine. The brown sat firmly on his haunches, acting as a perfect wall for S'aen to lean against. The large hatchling watched as his brothers Impressed, and offered a telepathic wave of welcome to them as they would approach the feeding tables. It is good to finally see you, brothers. It would grow crowded soon, but they did not mind. They were surrounded by those feeling the same things as them, and it was comforting they were not alone in this new-found emotional rollercoaster.

Now that they were free of the tangle of wings and hair she gave Fiolen a smile in return and as much as she hated to leave him on the sands she had to feed her dragon. And he wasn't small by any means. He was larger than the greens and about the size of a small brown. He was probably going to eat a lot.

My size alone will not judge my appetite NaressaMine His thoughts swirled through her mind as she thanked Fiolen and turned towards the feeding tables where the rest of the those that had impressed were. She was sure they would soon find out how much he would eat and she smiled down at him. She winced slightly and looked down at her shoulders and saw some faint red seeping through the white robes and knew she was injured, but it wasn't severe. she would live.

I sincerely apologize for having hurt you Mine. His eyes swirled slightly with concern and his tail lashed back and forth as he hoped it hadn't been too severe, she didn't seem to be in much pain but still.

She walked over towards where the rest of the Candidates were and she figured she'd find Becka since she was a healer afterall. She could knock out two birds with one stone. I think it would do you well. It was as if he had read her mind and she looked at him and ran her hand over his scaled eye ridges and smiled. This was her dragon. HER dragon. She was still in shock, oh how she wished her parents could see her right now.

"Becka?" She asked approaching the girl and the green she had impressed. Reciproth almost towered over the smaller green and she was still amazed at his size. Was it normal for blues to be this big? "I didn't mean to sound so.... Mean at the touching." She tried her best to search for the words she wanted. "I'm just very blunt at times." Reciproth leaned his head into her side with approval and he very much wanted her to get treated before he fed. The white robes on her shoulders were soaked with red at this point and it was dripping down the rest of her outfit almost as if it was crying. "Do you think you could patch me up?" She would understand if the girl denied her for how blunt she had been the other day.

Ritsa watched as the tiny green approached and moved carefully among the girls. Her heart ached, her mind was reeling too fast to comprehend anything. This little girl was so careful with everyone. So gentle, unlike some of the other hatchlings. Once Swanith's head had risen to another candidate Ritsa's heart dropped and she turned her head back towards the hatchlings. Yet another Dragon had not impressed to her.

Shivering Ritsa felt the prickles of something entering her mind. The soft feathery touch of something looking for her. Surprised Ritsa turned to look at the small green dragonet as she stared up at her. "Swanith, she is named Swanith!"

Elated that she had been chosen by a hatchling in the end Ritsa couldn't help but fall to her knees and wrap her arms around her knew lifemate. "You are so beautiful Swanith." Ritsa cooed pulling back to get a better look at her companion. "And you must be absolutely hungry, hurry I'm sure there are tasty things at the table for you to enjoy."

The junior weyrling was exited as she helped organize Swanith's wings and feet to better maneuver over the sands. Together, amid several tumbles in the sand. Something Ritsa had expected from a fresh hatchling they made their way towards the Tables. Nervously Ritsa scooped up a morsel of food and promptly offered it to Swanith. Remembering she couldn't feed too much to the hatchling or else she would make her sick.

I am happy to have found you. Did I make you wait to long? I am sorry mine.

Ritsa shook her head as she tried to hold back tears of happiness and offered another piece to her dragon. "No you did everything right, it is me who was being impatient."

Never, although you haven't seen Cordonith have you?

Bacha

She glanced toward the sweet green and saw she'd impressed to another girl. Bacha gave her a thumbs up and glanced back up in the stands. It was odd seeing the healer carrying the baby down. Guess he'd found his match after all. More dragons showed up. A blue from the Shooting Star egg and another from behind his gold mother. Well!

Bacha noticed the bronze heading off the sands with his new rider too. She shifted foot to foot. Her eyes flickered among the babies still roaming the sands. Would she find her dragon today?
