In some radical crazy hopes of winning another soquili or a chance at another soquili I will graciously accept the fox ; v ;

It seems Niyaru wanted the fox over the Usdia! Would you like him instead or would you prefer to pass and have me reroll?

THE REMAINING STORY

Quote:
You don't see any other way forward besides going through the cave, so you muster up the courage before heading in. Thankfully there's enough light for you to make out a path, but the deeper you go the harder it becomes. Eventually you're straining just to make out vague shapes when you hear a shift of hooves that doesn't belong to you. You stiffen, trying to spot just what it is, and eventually you make out the shape of a kelpi, chained in place to the ground. He grunts when he realizes you're there, and asks you to free him.

What do you do?
A: Try to find out just why he was chained up in the first place. You're not letting him go until then!
B: Leave him where he is and continue on. He must be chained up here for a reason, right?
C: Do as he asks and free him! There's really no good reason to keep him chained up here, without food and water.

Quote:
A: You ask the kelpi just why he was chained up here in the first place. He doesn't answer. You ask again, and this time he only asks if you'll free him again. It continues like this for a while before you finally get frustrated and leave. It takes hours before you make your way out of the cave, and when you do it looks like you've walked right into a skinwalker's territory. Whoops. THE END

B: You curtly tell the kelpi you won't help him before continuing on. The cave is dark, and although your eyes have adjusted you can barely see where open air ends and rock begins. You continue pressing forward, but spends hours lost in the cave. When you finally find your way out, you realize you're right back where you started - at the cave's entrance. You don't really feel like trying that again, and decide to head home. THE END

If you chose C continue on.

The chains holding the kelpi in place don't look very sturdy. You give him a warning before you get close, and as soon as he pulls the chains taut you give them a firm kick. The first chain holding him down shatters, and the second doesn't fare any better. He thanks you once he's free, and offers to lead you the rest of the way through the cave - and all the way to the mountain top! You follow him the rest of the way through the darkness, through enough twists and turns that you're certain you'd have wound up lost without his guidance. When you finally exit the gave, your stomach gives a loud rumble. Seems like your breakfast is done digesting. The kelpi offers to show you a good place to eat, now that you're out of the cave.

What do you do?
A: Keep going! You're hungry, but you're not going to stop this close to the top of the mountain!
B: Stop for a snack! You think you spot a really tasty looking patch of grass over by those trees.
C: Accept the kelpi's offer. He probably knows a better place to find food than you do, right?

Quote:
A: You turn down the kelpi's offer and insist you're fine to make the rest of the trip. But the longer it goes, the more hungry you get. Eventually you start to get woozy, and by the time you realize you should probably eat it's too late. You trip and fall, passing out from hunger. It's night time when you finally wake up, and the kelpi is nowhere to be seen. You find something to eat and pull your blanket out of your pack, settling in for a long night. THE END

B: You insist you can find your own food and trot over to graze under some nearby trees. You're delighted when you find some yummy mushrooms over there, and chomp them down without thinking. Half an hour later, you find yourself chasing butterflies all over the forest before the kelpi finally takes pity on you and gently leads you back down the mountain so you can wait out the effects of the mushrooms. THE END

If you chose C continue on.

You nod towards the kelpi, thanking him as he leads you over to a nearby stream hidden by the cave. He points out which grasses are safe to eat, and warns you sternly not to eat the mushrooms. You spend some time filling your belly while he gets a drink from his own, and when you're finished he leads you back up the mountain. Together you spend another hour hiking up the trail, although you're not sure you can call it a trail any more, and eventually the forest starts to part around you. You're so close to the top now that you can see where you're supposed to go even without his guidance.

What do you do?
A: Keep going. You don't feel the need to rush now that the end is in sight. You can just enjoy it.
B: Race to the top! It'll be a fun game, especially now that you have someone to race against!
C: Take your time and enjoy the sights. You took the scenic route, and now's the time to really enjoy it.

Quote:
B: You turn and challenge the kelpi to a race to the top, and without much more warning take off at a gallop. You only make it a few strides before you trip on an gnarled root and fall, tumbling back down the mountain before you can skid to a stop. You groan in pain, laying there until you finally feel like you can sheepishly retreat down the mountain, too ashamed to face the kelpi after such a miserable failure. THE END

C: You take your time making your way to the top, watching birds flit through the trees and admiring the scenery. You're so focused that you don't hear the kelpi's warning in time, and walk straight into a tree, knocking yourself out. When you wake up, it looks like the kelpi's taken the time to drag you back down the mountain, and your blanket is tucked around your body. THE END

If you chose A continue on.

With the end in sight, you don't dawdle along. The final obstacle is a slight rise of rocks you have to climb up, and when you're finally there the view knocks your breath away. You can see all of the mountainside and a good portion of the valley beneath it, and in the distance there's a brilliant rainbow thanks to the earlier rain. In fact, after a moment to blink and make sure you're not seeing things, there's two rainbows stretching out from the peaks and arching over the valley. You take it as a good sign, and eventually you realize you have to head back down the mountain soon if you want to get home before dark.

The kelpi accompanies you, and the conversation is good. The occasional stretches of silence are comfortable, and you use them to reflect on the amazing view you managed to see. You're pretty sure you'll never forget it for as long as you live.

YOU WIN.
