"Why not?" Evan shot back at the short hooded boy. "Anything can be used as a weapon. Better yet, the right combination of household chemicals can make one hell of a bomb," he continued with glee, not recalling how, exactly, he knew that, but eager nonetheless to try it out.

He didn't stop the kid when he took off towards his room, thinking that two would be easier to protect than three and hoping, quietly, that if there were zombies, they would go after the lone wolf before the pack. "Good luck," he said instead.

"We'll go this way," he told the other girls, starting off in the other direction. He peered into open doors as they went down the hall, checking quickly for something that might be of use and moving on when he found nothing. Eventually they wound up at the end, finding no more bedrooms, but one unoccupied common room-type area. There were a couple of couches, some generic, fake potted plants, and--perfect--tables of various sizes.

Evan took an obscene amount of joy in picking up one of the smaller end tables by one leg and throwing it against the wall. It splintered with a satisfying crunch, and Evan's grin turned a little manic as he went to retrieve a pair of the legs. They were jagged where they had once connected to the table. Evan picked the two sharpest-looking ones before returning to the girls, offering the table legs to them as if they were ice cream cones and not blunt objects. "Hit anything that looks like it might be a zombie," he instructed as the lights went out. "Don't stop until it quits moving."

She opened her mouth to answer when someone tapped the other one on the shoulder. Squinting, Misty held up her ID and compared pictures. Not the guy. She was starting to wonder if maybe this James Stevens guy was her brother or something...Would that make her Misty Stevens? Better than that weird name she saw plastered all over her cell phone before, "Stormy". Hell, she'd even seen messages to someone as "Gale", which made her wonder what sort of code names these were. Because no parent in their right mind would make their kid Stormy okay.

"Small group is fine," she said with a nod to the boy, pocketing her card again. "Name's Misty, unless someone tells me otherwise. Here's what I know: we all apparently have no memories, there's a guy who says he's God, and apparently we need to have weapons because we're gonna have 'contaminated specimens' coming at us soon. I've got this thingie." She held up a dagger with odd blue writing along it. "You saw any other weapons we could--?"

And then for a split second she thought thy were under attack when something hit the other woman's head. Frowning, Misty plucked the cube from the ground and wiggled it at the guy who'd thrown it.

"Dude, what the hell's your problem?"

The girl he’d hit was pretty cool. The other girl standing next to her? Eeeh. He lazily smiled at her and shrugged. “I just wanted to see if I could use it as a weapon. I haven’t got anything else in my room to use,” admitted Wilson. Arms still out, he paused thoughtfully. “I think I have some weird books that I could use too. They look pretty heavy (and boring. Monsters, really…??) but they look so nice. Seems like such a waste.” He walked up to Eva and slung an arm around her shoulder like it was completely natural and lazily leaned against her.

Half-lidded eyes lit up somewhat when he noticed the dagger in Misty’s hand. He grinned and pointed toward the weapon. “Ooh! Lucky. Maybe if I dig through the piles of clothes I could find something like that in my room…?”

He squinted at Gale. While he had the decency to say nothing he was obviously wondering who let this kiddo into the place after taking a look at the other people gathered, buuut whatever. Maybe he was a prodigy or something??

There probably were bigger problems here, just as he'd said, but she had no immediate solutions for those. Really, she had no immediate solutions for the weapons problem either; it just seemed to be the easiest of all potential problems to solve first.

It was only when he mentioned pockets that she realized she'd forgotten to check her own coat pockets. Something that obvious was inevitably high on the spy protocol list, so she wasn't keen to respond that she hadn't checked hers yet. Instead, she reached into both of them and tried to determine whether or not there was a device with a signal by poking at them with her fingertips. Surprisingly, it worked - she pulled out a phone and turned it over in her hands, shrugging.

"I assume you have an idea of who to contact or what to do, so you can have this." She offered him the phone and glanced around, still trying to solve the problem of being unarmed, when a solution presented itself almost immediately.

This was too easy.

"I'll go see what he means by that, and will return with weapons. I hope." Or they could use her for zombie bait. She really, really hoped they actually had weapons to distribute.

Keeping a tentative distance, she approached the redhead and the man with ducky boxers, and cleared her throat to get their attention.

"Sooo..." she began, shifting her weight from one foot to the other. "You said something about weapons, and I need a weapon..."

Clutching the pipe in her hands, she watched for any sign of danger approaching, though she was unsure of how long she would survive against zombies with just a pipe. Thankfully, there were a crowd of other people with her, so at least they weren't alone in this.

Jumping slightly as someone practically whispered to her, she shook her head as she turned to face the other girl standing beside her. "I'm not sure.. I'm not even sure what I'm doing here. But, someone said something about zombies, and there was that alert about biohazard specimens on the loose..?" Yeah, they were screwed.

The hooded blonde reached the room he had abandoned some time before. Still unfamiliar, and feeling much like he was trespassing, the youth hesitantly began searching through it.

The metal drum set had many odds and ends that might prove useful, but he had no knowledge of how to take it apart. Pulling and tugging didn't work, and he didn't want to throw it against a wall either.

Nothing under the mountains of pillows. Nothing inside pockets of... he paused as he found a white jacket, adorned with zippers, fancy and intricate gold trim, and an emblem of two intersecting scythes crossed on the back. He checked the pockets, finding a wallet and an ID.

Otto Graves?

...Cool name! Lucky dude.

Whatever, he didn't spend much more time than that. Ignoring the ID and wallet, he huffed and looked further into the room. A skateboard? Maybe he could use it as a shield. Or even a blunt object to hit with. What else could he do?

The teen was ready to leave, when suddenly the lights went out.

A sudden surge of panic overwhelmed him. Why was he afraid? Why did his legs give out, his body cease? It was just darkness... yet...

Emergency lights came on after, and odd noises echoed from the halls. The shivering youth gulped and ran from the room with the skateboard in hand. He returned to the common room where others were gathered, shuddering at each thud he heard.

"W..w.wh-what's happening?" He trembled, clutching the board tightly in his grasp.

The shorter blonde boy received a look when he asked about mops and brooms as weapons. The look said clearly that she thought it was a silly question. She agreed with Mr. Military, anything could be used as a weapon with enough imagination or a large enough will to keep alive.

She was not very fond of the idea of splitting up, so when Hubba Bubba ran off to go search the room he'd woken up in she gave an uneasy groan. He'd run off before she could really say anything to stop him, and she was left with Dog tags and Braids. Frowning, she glanced towards the pair, sizing them up, before they began to move down the hall.

The rooms they could get into provided little in the way of weaponry. It seemed like no one in this damn place had any need or desire to defend themselves? It was all really weird.

The lights going out had been down right alarming, but at least there were emergency lights. The muffled and distant sounds of thuds and screams were not comforting things..

When Dog tags had the brilliant idea to bust up a few tables for the legs, the tiny blonde grinned, happily accepting the makeshift club. "That's what I'm talking about." The sharp end was smacked a couple times into her palm to test for strength and whacking potential, and the tiniest of grins slid over her lips.

When Hoodie reappeared the short girl let out an obvious sigh of relief. Lavender eyes took him in, apparently searching for any signs of bites or scratches, before landing on the skateboard. "Nice find." A skateboard could be useful for a get away. Sure, it was only a one man sort of ride.. But still. Better then nothing.

"Sin? Wow that's a really cool name," Javier sighed wistfully. "And I won't let you go, not again," his arms tightened ominously at the promise. "I probably know karate or something, so if worst comes to worse I may be able to overcome my emotional turmoil and find the warrior with-hey was that a Mario reference?" Sighing again, he rested his head against his boo's powerful back, and congratulated himself on having such good taste.

Speaking of...

"Do you think we could stop by a vending machine on our way to fight the zombie horde?"

He hoped they were not siblings, as that would have been rather.. awkward. The mention of scars on his back had him looking in the mirror. Those were some.. interesting marks to be sure. ".... well if they are.. must have been good." The picture got a look, more curious than anything. "Pretty sure we're not siblings, and now wondering if maybe those marks on my back were a bit intentional." There was an edge of playfulness in his tone- Though it was drowned out by the sudden jarring message from ******** all.

"Well that sounds fun." There were no visible weapons but a quick check down the hall found a crowbar, some kind of medical kit, thick gloves, power tools- He wanted to grab them all.

The crowbar seemed the best bet however. That and the gloves.

He realized that getting fully dressed might help to.
"...............I guess I'm a fight in my boxers kind of guy?" He shrugged. He had no idea what was going on.

At least Kat had a pipe. Alaska had…a basketball. Really, if she dyed her hair and got tattoos, then shouldn’t she be the type to carry some weapons around with her? No? Damn. She made a face before reluctantly bouncing the ball a couple times. Fortunately the air pressure was still good. Whatever was coming their way, she could probably hit it pretty well (assuming she had good aim). But judging by how she was currently balancing the spinning ball on one of her fingers, she had a feeling her aim was just fine.

She raised a hand toward the brunette when she jumped. “Ah…” Had Alaska surprised the poor woman? “So I’m guessing you’re just as clueless as I am,” she surmised, her free hand holding her chin. “Biohazard?” she mumbled incredulously, brows furrowing. “That sounds like something right out of a movie. Are we going to be okay…?”

"You can borrow this one if you like- there's other stuff t-" Suddenly, the lights went out, and Scarface gave a sudden panicked yelp. The emergency lights thankfully saved them all from a startled scream, but he had dropped the useless runic torch all the same.

Scrambling to pick it up and pocket the steak knife, he managed a weak, "Yes, yes, that sounds like... like a good idea- go where everyone is probably getting eate-" Again, he was cut off as the ground distantly shook.

Scarface didn't need to be told again. He clutched the knife ahead of him and ran for the hallway and stairs. "M-m-maybe-aybe there's a.. a p-panic room or something!!" He called behind him, figuring 'John' and 'Killer' would be close behind if they were smart.

WHAM.

The sound thoroughly interrupted all conversation. The "God of Everything" squeaked, nearly dropping their axe. It was to be noted, some time, during the chaos, they had conveniently made their way to the back of the hallway.

Silence again.

And then, a strange, black mist began to seep through every sealed, barricaded crack, every crevice of the door. At first, it was just the bare flickers of smoke, thick, black, smoke, followed by the emergency lights around them fading, flickering. The doors, the walls began to shake violently as thick black mist poured, forced itself through the thin cracks more freely, furniture began to shake as -

- CRASH-

From one of the rooms, a window smashed. And then a second, a third.

Something shuffled, slowly, methodically, mostly blacks and shadows. Another joined the chorus, a pair of eyes that disappeared the next second. A third, and then a fourth, and then a fifth and suddenly towering at all sides, facing against the survivors, those who had lost their memories, helpless victims -

- A wall of eyes stared back at them, blinking at odd intervals.

It was then, facing these one-foot tall piles of fluff, that they begin to finally understand what the meaning of Fear was.

WAVE 1: VERSUS THE VICIOUS CREATURES ROUND 1

-Oh dear! It seems general negligence and people forgetting to lock the pens thanks to an incident has set all the minipets on Deus Ex rampant! They are out for blood, they are out for vengeance. They will try to claw, bite, chew, and pretty much rabidly attack anything that is nearby, despite their cuteness.
- These minipets are not limited to foxfires, but pretty much anything Deus Ex holds in their pens including minipets that should technically belong to certain Hunters in their pens.
- Feel free to pick out a minipet (image) and then post it before doing battle with it. They are vicious so be careful! Use a weapon to fend them back!
- Each minipet has 10 HP. Roll 2d6 to attack. To destroy an attacking minipet, you need to reduce it to 0 HP before it melts away sadly. YOU CAN KILL AS MANY AS YOU LIKE.. but you take -2 HP each attack you do. You have 30 HP.
- Yes, being unfed, they have become extremely unhappy and highly aggressive (but mostly cute, but still aggressive)

Sin looked at the enemy. "..." No words were adequate enough to describe this feeling. Who had called it a zombie invasion in the first place? Sin would really like to educate them on the definition of a zombie, entirely sure that fluffy creatures were not a part of it. Yes, let's have a good talk..

Javier had some great ideas. A vending machine, huh? "Alcohol." SIn could really use some.

"You up for it?"

With a sparkling smile, Javier might not notice Sin's arm arm solidly batting a lunging gremlin. Hopefully Javier wasn't the type that protested doth not harm thy hair on any minipet's forehead because this was going to get very messy.

Killer nodded at Uni in agreement before considering quietly that what if zombies are scared of ukuleles. Movies were movies, but then this wasn't a movie so... things could be quite different. He clenched his table leg tighter as the power went out and lights shifted gear, "******** followed Uni and Scarface closely as they all headed towards the halls. At the very least, they could all agree cowering in a bedroom waiting to die to zombies did not appeal.

Hot Bod nodded at Sweet a** in agreement, "Ready." 'cept she wasn't. She was terrified and trembling at the knees as a result. The knife was more of a weapon than the cleaners and yet she still hated the thought of getting close enough to zombies to use it. No, just no. She kept close behind Sweet a**. He had range, so...
