When Tahlia heard Adelaide's voice, she pulled away to look at her. "Ela?" Her possessive statement confused her, and when the girl acted 16 again and stormed off, Tahlia blinked in shock and ran to follow her. "Ela, wait!" Tahlia caught up to her and grabbed her shoulder. "Ela, what's wrong?"

Adelaide had made it up several stairs and then turned around as Tahlia grabbed her shoulder. The tears that were welling up, began to fall and she began trying to rub them away. "I can't... I just can't do this anymore Lia." She began to shake. "Seven years I've been quiet, and I thought maybe you'd figure it out, and you haven't." She chuckled a but hysterically, before sobbing again. She looked up at her best friend, terrified. "Seven years I've loved you. I just, I can't not. I've tried." She began to rub her eyes again. "And I know, I just know you don't feel the same." She then covered her face and just cried. Well Goddess... Now's the time I feel like I have no purpose again.

Adrian followed Tahlia, and listened quietly. When Adelaide blurted out her feelings he thought 'I knew it. Never expected her to blurt it out though'. He remained silent, realizing any words from his would only make things worse. Now it was Tahlias turn to react.

At the sight of her friend in tears, Tahlia panicked, reaching forward to wipe the tears away even as Adelaide spoke of nothing being able to do this. At the 'seven years' comment, Tahlia paused, for a split moment frightful, so frightful that she'd be regretting their friendship that whole time. The truth was much more surprising. Tahlia's mouth dropped open, and she moved to step closer to Adelaide. "Oh, Ela-" The motion of the ship coupled with the step upwards triggered something in Tahlia though, and her vision started blurring. Even as she began to fall, her hand reached out for Adelaide, her fingers just brushing Ela's arm as her vision turned black and she passed out. For not the first time, Tahlia had been so caught up in what needed to be done, she'd forgotten to do the basics- such as eat. Pair that with a shocking revelation like this, and she was bound to faint.

Adelaide kept crying, and then heard Tahlia start talking. She uncovered her face and watched as her best friend began to fall. She wasn't fast enough, and tried to reach out for her, but she didn't catch her arm in time. Tears still fell and she began to cry harder. I can't do anything right!

Adrrian leaped forward and caught Tahlia, and shot a glare at Adelaide, "If you truly do love her, then stop crying and help me get her into the cabin." He snapped, "If not, than just stay out of the way." He said as he stood holding Tahlia. Holding Tahlia he wouldn't be able to open the cabin door.

Adelaide shot him a glare through her tears, before going to open the cabin doors for him. She was still shaking and sniffling, but she held the door open for Adrian to carry Tahlia in. There were so many angry things she wanted to say, but the dissolved away and she was left feeling dumb and useless. "What else can I do?" The words came out through her teeth and and was biting the inside of her cheek as to not cry again.

Adrian carried Tahlia into the cabin and laid her down, "Keep an eye on her. She needs water and food, but you don't know your way around the ship, so I'll take care of it." He said as he stood up. "And that was brave. Telling her, even though you knew she didn't feel the same way. I honestly thought you were going to keep it a secret till the end." He said before leaving the cabin and heading to the galley.

Adelaide entered the cabin and stood over by Tahlia as Adrian spoke. "Thank you." She then heard him say that she was brave, and she glanced away. "I wanted to keep it a secret to the end... but that wasn't going to happen." She watched him walk out and she shook her head at the passed out girl. "You need to remember to eat, Lia. This isn't good for you." She was sure her friend couldn't hear her, but she needed to speak it out anyways.

Hours passed, and day slipped to night. Tahlia managed to drift back into consiousness, and when she sat up, she found she was in the captains cabin, a blanket pooled at her waist. Wha? Turning, she found a plate of simple food, and a mug of water sitting on a table near by. Pushing to her feet, she approached the table, and found a familiar scrawl on a piece of paper shoved under the mug. You went and didn't eat again, so here's some food. We'll talk later. Or not. Or whatever. - A. Smiling fondly, Tahlia sighed and took a bite of the dry bread. I've gone and ruined things, haven't I? After she'd finished the plate of food, She wandered out, glancing around. Adelaide wasn't anywhere in sight, but the captains study had a light flickering, so she walked over and knocked lightly on the door. "Cap'n Adrian?"

Adrian was engrossed in his maps until he heard the light knocking on the door. He immediately jumped up and knocked over his chair in running to the door. He threw it open and looked Tahlia over. "Are you okay? Did you eat? Never scare me like that again."

Tahlia jumped when she heard the thump of the chair, blinking in shock when it got thrown open. "Uh..." Blinking again, unsure why he was showing so much concern. "Yeah, ate the food left on the table. I guess I passed out again?" With a tilt of her head, Tahlia's brow furrowed in confusion. "I'm sorry I scared you, I suppose. Ela's quite used to my unfortante habit of forgetting to eat." If pressed, Tahlia wouldn't be able to say when she'd last eaten. "Fasting has trained me to not realize when I'm hungry, and if I'm busy, or distracted, I forget."

Adelaide had written her note, and out of being depressed found herself playing cards with some of the pirates. When that wasn't cheering her up, she went on and decided that a few drinks wouldn't hurt. Ten or so drinks later, she was up and dancing around with a red face. Laughter filled the room and most of it was Adelaide's.

Adrian nodded to Tahlia, "Well, from now on. When I eat, you and Adelaide eats as well. Don't want this to happen again." He then frowned, "Oh, and maybe you can stop her. She's not likely to respond well to my presence." He said glancing towards the entrance to the hold. "Adelaide is happily getting drunk off her a**. Even my crew is a little off put by it. And we're bloody pirates. You might want to see if you can stop her before she gets sick. Or worse."

Tahlia blinked a bit at the mandate that she'd eat when he did, but nodded. "Alright. Adelaide keeps herself fed though, so you don't have to worry about-" Tahlia cut her sentence off when he began speaking about stopping her, and mentioned she was getting drunk. "She's what? Oh lord." Tahlia turned around and glanced down the hold, before glancing back at him. "Thank you again. You probably caught me, since I fell backwards. i appreciate it." She then trotted down the stairs, into the hold, and put her hands on her hips when she saw Adelaide. "Ela, what on earth are you doing?!" Tahlia strode over to her, opened her mouth to scold her- and then saw her hand. Grabbing a chair, she pulled it forward. "You can play a few more hands and that's it." She muttered, remembering how her father taught her to play- both fairly and not- dozens of different card games, and knowing that Adelaide had a pretty good hand. "But no more drinking, please."
