Aoi blushed slightly at Alexis' comment of her singing voice possibly attracting the fish more than his. "Maybe, though I haven't always been much of a singer. Father wouldn't normally let me sing... Although that may have been the reason why." she said before nodding at him mentioning pushing or possibly rolling the box back to the gorge. She made mention of calling for the help of the dolphins, though she honestly didn't want to ask the dolphins to move something if it was too heavy and if they could move it on their own.{{ooc:}}

Alexis shrugged as he put his shoulder against the back of the box, as he'd been facing the front of it while pulling it free. "His loss for not nurturing a talent, besides... for some their talents lie in more physical methods, like..." he said as he grunted pushing the box as it tilted before rolling with a muted crackling rumble to the base of the hill and several feet beyond before coming to a stop. "That, while others are more mental or emotional. Heck, looking at you is relaxing, kinda like that hot water pool," he said before he yelped as the seaweed rope jerked taunt, dragging him almost to the base of the hill where it had wrapped around his ankle unnoticed.

Aoi had been momentarily playing with the fish while listening to Alexis and she nodded at what he said. "I really do like singing and would sing when he wasn't aruond, but then he almost always found out because someone or other would hear me and tell him about it... I just don't understand why I wasn't permitted to sing... Mother wasn't really even allowed to sing to me when I was a child..." she said before mumbling something about the men acting strange around her when she did. Aoi wasn't quite sure why and never had the mind to ask why.
While she talked she had heard Alexis saying something about how just looking at her was relaxing and she looked at him a bit confused. Although that was just a split second before she watched him being dragged along by the box. she swam quickly after him and asked him if he was all right.{{ooc:}}

Alexis sighed as he sat up, not realizing that the sand in his hair made it look more like an afro. "More embarrassed than anything," he said as he stood. An idea came to him as he untied the seaweed rope from his ankle. He cocked his head as he stood, shaking his head so the sand fell in a shower around him; he didn't notice the scraped skin on his shoulders and upper back from the coarse sand as he bent over and picked up the rope and started walking away from the hill. "I have an idea that may make it easier to get it to the gorge... if not throw it to the other side where the tunnel is," he said as he pulled the rope taut and took a deep breath before jerking it lightly, gauging the weight of the box before he started to slowly turn, feeling the box start to spin along with him, dragging up a trail of sand for a few feet before it left the sand completely as he started turning faster. He had heard one tribesman mention a sport that he was taking a concept from. He'd called it something odd... he thought it was 'hammer throw' or something similar.

Aoi was relieved to hear that Alexis was all right, even though he'd been pulled along by the box. "I'm glad that you're not hurt." she said. She noticed the scraps on Alexis' back and she almost panicked, though it didn't seem like he was hurt or anything. She then heard that he had an idea that might make moving the box easier and Aoi smiled. She watched what was being done and she moved back some so that she'd not be hit by the box. 'I wonder if that will really get the box moved... Or if Alexis will just hurt himself...' she thought to herself, watching to see just what might happen.{{ooc: I may end up and have to get going early, though maybe not. It all depends on if someone else wants to use this computer confused }}

Alexis grunted as he released the rope and watched the box arc through the water before landing upright, skidding a few feet shy of the edge of the gorge. "Huh, that's almost exactly where I was aiming," he said with a thoughtful look, wincing slightly as he shifted his shoulders, which were aching for some reason he was unsure of.

Aoi watched as Alexis let go of the rope and her eyes followed the box as it arced through the water, landing and skidding to a stop very close to the edge of the gorge. "I wouldn't have been able to do that. I wouldn't have known right when to let go of the rope and it probably would have smashed to bits... Although, I probably wouldn't have been able to move it in the first place. Oh, and your back is scraped up... I think it happened when you were dragged by the box. I could fix you up if you'd like?" she said as she swam over to Alexis to look at his back and see just how badly he was scraped up.{{ooc:}}

Alexis blinked. "It was all about getting the momentum going and keeping the box from spinning when I released it, otherwise it would have tumbled and likely ended up at the bottom of the gorge and we have no idea what's in there or how deep it goes," he said, cocking his head as she mentioned the scrapes on his back and shoulders. "I didn't even realize that I was hurt," he said, unaware that the scrapes were mostly shallow, reddened scratches but a few were a bit deeper and trickled thin tendrils of blood out.

Aoi nodded as she listened to Alexis speaking. "I understand. That wouldn't have been very good if we'd have lost the box in the gorge... And I don't think that it looks too bad, though there are some scrapes that are bleeding some. I could have those fixed up really quick, unless you just want to let them be and we can focus on getting the box to your cavern?" she asked, looking at Alexis and then to the seaweed patch that she had gotten the seaweed for the ropes, thinking of going to get some to use as bandages.{{ooc:}}

Alexis tilted his head. "You can take care of it; the box isn't going to swim away on its own, after all," he said with a chuckle; the box was surprisingly heavy, and was likely very difficult to carry.

Aoi had turned her attention back to Alexis and nodded at his reply. She gave a nod before going to get some seaweed to use as bandages. she got back and she took a few pieces of the seaweed and looked over the scrapes and picked out the worst ones to bandage. "There you go. Those should hold for a while," she said after finishing up tending to Alexis' back and just before noticing that the little fish was gone. She almost panicked before she looked to the box and saw something silver bumping against the box. "Hmm... That little fish really wants to help us doesn't he?" she asked, almost laughing.{{ooc:}}

Alexis thought about something. "I wonder if it's possible, if I manipulate the water just right, to create a ramp so that all we'd have to do is shove the box onto the ramp and let its natural momentum do the rest in sending it into the tunnel," he mused. He had an idea of how to do it, as well, as he turned and hugged Aoi.

Aoi listened to Alexis and looked at him smiling, before she looked to the little fish who was trying to move the box. "You could give it a try." she said in reply. She was not expecting a hug from Alexis, so she let out a tiny squeak of surprise. "Wh-what was that for?" she asked, her face turning red.{{ooc:}}

Alexis chuckled. "Several reasons. You're cute, generous, thoughtful, fun to be around, and intelligent," he said with amusement. "Those qualities aren't common in most people I've known, to be honest," he said with a sheepish chuckle, a bit embarrassed he'd acted a little rashly. He turned and swam towards the box, deep in thought.

Aoi's face went a darker shade of red as she listened to Alexis and a grin crept across her face. "I like having you as company and it's not just because I haven't had all too much company in the past few years. Oh, and thanks for the compliments. And out of the people I have met since I left home, you're probably the nicest one I've met." she said honestly as she swam after Alexis. It was true that Alexis was probably the nicest person that Aoi had met since she had left, other than the dolphins, though they weren't actually people. The other merfolk had chased her out after only a night or two and the dolphins let her stay with their pods for a while, though when they moved on they left her behind. She was thankful that she met Alexis and that he was so much nicer to her than anyone else she had known since she had left home.{{ooc:}}
