Luke gave a small shrug, "I don't know if it's that big a deal." In fact, he had to stop and think about the various benefits attached with the tie, "It's the age of allowance for drinking, getting married, gambling, signing legal contracts, uh…" He frowned thoughtfully. "A lot of different stuff. In my case it makes me eligible to inherit my father's title too, I guess." Though the bitterness he held towards that subject was evident even in his tone. Fortunately he was presented with the perfect opportunity to shift from those thoughts, volunteering to oversee the task of waking Seraphine, "Maybe I should?" They were all aware of the girl's feelings about Yuri, after all, and it was daunting to see her nearly constantly on the verge or in the midst of snapping at their company.

Ray looked from Yuri, who gave a first impression of the event, toward Luke, who had chose to elaborate. She listened, though the bitterness in his tone was not lost on the older women. "Hm." She hummed, sounding interested. "I guess Grant Ile traditions are different, Man! Pretty much everything happens at 20 huh, even marriage? you really have to wait till you're twenty to even get married. Thats like the strangest restricts ever, no slow progression of privileges just BAM! get drunk get married and gamble to win money, or you know... lose it all and then sign off on all kinds of stuff, proooobably the divorce papers or bankruptcy! ALL IN ONE NIGHT, man that must be one hell of a party. Grand Ile suddenly sounds like a great place to explore, wish I would have turned twenty there. Though the lack of a pokemon community might dampen that."
The subject moved toward Sera, leaving the women to consider Yuri's question before Luke volunteered "Hmmm, sure, she hasn't taken a swing at me yet, but I don't fancy getting clogged tonight. I imagine she would hold back better for you."

"Go for it," Yuri said to Luke, before looking over at Ray with a smirk. "Yeah, a lot of coming-of-age parties are pretty crazy," he said as he started getting some food ready for Sera.

Ray's evaluation of his explanation was received with some surprise as she talked her way through an entire scenario. That was probably… kind of an extreme example, but hell, Luke had never seen one such party so how should he know. "How does it usually work?" Grande Ile's ways seemed reasonable enough to him, but that was probably because it was the culture in which he had been immersed for the vast majority of his life.
At the go-ahead, he moved to stand, ignoring the complaints of his feet, and crouched beside Seraphine, jostling her shoulder lightly and speaking in a light tone, "Sera, you hungry? Dinner's ready."

Ray's wide, sly grin spread over her face at the subtle surprise in Luke's expression. "Hey." She said more calmly "I'm just kidding around, its hard to get you to crack any kind of grin, I'm drowning here Luke."
As Luke when over to get Sera, Ray looked over to Double stripe, slipping some of the food on her plate toward the side to let him eat it.

Though her positioning was much more conducive to a light nap than full sleep, the exhaustion she suffered from after the day's long travels had left any chance of light sleep way back in Camphoreon. Thus, the voices had not bothered her even a little, and Luke's voice had little to no effect whatsoever. Him lightly shaking her shoulder, however, garnered an actual reaction in a slight shift in posture to curl in on herself more, and a prolonged groan that started out very soft and ended at normal tones, and sounded like a combination of tired, displeased, exhausted, and confused. Though she squeezed her eyes shut more, she opened them after a few seconds and rubbed at them, except she hadn't internalized a single word of what Luke said, and thus had no idea what he was waking her up for. "Mmn.. what..?"
Jacques, however, wasn't nearly too asleep to understand the implications of food, and he woke much more readily.

"Sorry," he replied, tucking his head slightly downwards. He was painfully aware that he made for some pretty poor company, but as much as he hated being a nuisance, he was finding it difficult to get his bearings in any kind of casual dialogue.
Seraphine's groggy, half-awake state was received with patience, though Luke was admittedly envious of how easily and thoroughly she had fallen asleep. He had no qualms against repeating himself, "Food. Do you want to eat?"

More pointed groaning, and then Seraphine had pushed herself up into a sitting, albeit slouched, position. Even though she wasn't fully awake, she still recognized the fact that she had been wanting to eat for a while, and now she finally would be able to, so she responded with a quiet, "Yeah."

In acknowledgment of the fact that she still wasn't quite awake, Luke offered his hand to help her rise and moved to return to the fireside where she could receive her portion. Maybe she would wake up more easily after eating… though at that point, he supposed, there wouldn't be much for her to do but sleep.

Ray watched as Luke managed to wake Sera up, and guide her, half asleep over to the fire to get something to eat. She wore an amused expression, tough not one of mocking. It was the girls first time out after all, She would get used to it. Ohhhh how she would have to get used to it.
"We should reach the city by tomorrow night." Ray said, setting her empty plate aside and laying back in the grass again, Double Stripe draping his neck over her middle. "ooooff- DS... you're heavy." She commented, but laid a hand on the snake's head.

Silently the girl rose with Luke's help, stumbled forward just a bit, then moved to join them by the fire. Once she received her own plate of food, she began to eat, though Jacques had moved right behind her and leaned around to try and sneakily grab whatever he could from her plate. Sleepy as she was, she managed to block his attempts.

"The dead are walking," Yuri teased lightly as Sera came over to join them, handing her a plate.
He then got his own and started to eat as well, although not without throwing a few words at Luke.
"So Luke, how is it? I put a lot of work into that you know." Although really it hadn't been hard at all. Merely a reminder that the boy needed to eat. He knew stalling when he saw it.

Luke returned to his place near the sleeping Mieu, who stretched and repositioned slightly as he sensed the movement nearby but did not wake. He recovered the mostly whole meal from where he left it, resting the plate on his knee and attempting to disregard the mental complaints of his absence of hunger. He silenced a sigh in response to Yuri's comment, replying with a weary "it's good." He got it already, jeez.
Emboldened by frustration, Luke for once took an initiative in conversation towards the end of changing the subject, "Ray, you're good with pokemon, right?" Or at least, she seemed to like them more than the average person. Mieu hadn't exactly warmed to her, but she hardly seemed put off.

A little amused smirk tugged at Yuri's lips as Luke tried to divert the topic. However, he let it be. He'd made his point and so long a Luke tried he wouldn't push him too hard.
Thus the man ate his own food and listened, waiting for Ray to answer the question.
