Long laughed at that, she really was an audacious little girl. He thought there were people he knew who would like her. Though it was probably her age that was colouring her personality.

"Alright, we can go somewhere else now," he replied, "Have any suggestions?"

Saria sucked on her upper lip as she thought about that for a moment. She hadn't really thought about where she wanted to go - she just didn't want to stay in the weapons shop, that was all!

Then she had an idea.

"Do you like sweets?" she asked him brightly.

"... Yes?" he was a bit unsure since he didn't know what sort of sweets they served.

He found a lot of the heavily sugar based sweets most Gaians loved were too sweet for him, which was funny because anything with red bean paste was his favourite sweet and to some people that was too sweet.

Saria beamed. "Then we can go to the sweet shop!" she exclaimed. "They have lots of different kinds of sweets there! And sometimes they let you try one without you having to pay for it first and that's how you know they sweets are really good!"

She grabbed Long's hand and started tugging at it. "Come on, Long! Let's go!"

"Err... okay..." Long wasn't use to enthused children.

It had been too long ago since Donovan had been one (and yes Donovan had been quite the enthused child).

"I guess we're going," he told Daemon and the others over his shoulder.

Daemon could only chuckle at this, because Long was a sucker for kids.

Pengolodh and Alinda smiled at each other. Saria had always been filled with energy, and so her actions at the present were no surprise to them. Still, they wanted to let her be herself as much as they could. Yes, they would guide her, but not overpower her.

"Off we go, then," Pengolodh chuckled, ushering them towards the door. "And where are we off to this time?"

Daemon leaned over to Pengolodh, "The sweets shop, since Long asked where she wanted to go."

It wasn't at all surprising that, that was where Saria wanted to go. Most children loved sweets.

Pengolodh laughed, but Alinda looked down at her daughter suspiciously.

"Did you ask Long if he would like to go there as well?" she asked her.

Saria smiled innocently. "Well, I asked him if he likes sweets, and he said yes, and he asked me where I wanted to go, so that means yes!" she replied eagerly.

Long shrugged, "Well, I did ask and she answered."

So he couldn't say no to it, and he didn't mind sweets. However, growing up he was not one of those kids who got into the rock candy.

"Then off we go," Pengolodh chuckled softly. "Come Saria, let go of Long's hand, if you keep tugging it you're going to give him a sore shoulder."

Saria's eyes grew wide and she looked up at Long, alarmed.

"Am I hurting your shoulder, Long?" she asked him anxiously, her grip only tightening on his hand. "I don't want to hurt you!"

"It's fine," Long grinned widely, "It takes more than a bit of tugging to give me a sore arm."

And he was keeping up, so it wasn't bad. Besides, he didn't want to worry her needlessly it seemed she was sensitive to this sort of thing.

"Oh, good." Saria let out the breath she'd been holding and smiled again. "Okay, then let's go!"

She let go of his hand and skipped ahead, leading the way out of the shop.

Daemon chuckled as they followed the little girl, "She's quite sensitive..."

He meant that in a good way, she certainly cared a lot about how other people were feeling. Though that might explain her dislike of weapons, it seemed to be a greater dislike than most children who might come to not like them.

Pengolodh smiled as he walked alongside Daemon.

"She is," he agreed. "She's always conscious of what others around her are feeling or what they might like. I can't even get her to squish the occasional bug that makes it into the house - she insists on taking it back outside and setting it free. It's going to be a challenge when it comes time to train her, but ... hopefully we can reason with her and she'll realize it's important."

His eyes softened. "Still, she is very sweet."

Daemon smiled at that, he did hope her training would go well. Even though he didn't have much training until his wife attempted to teach him to at least defend himself.

That hadn't gone over well.

"Well... she's still young," Daemon murmured as he watched Long follow after the girl like a lost puppy.

Probably because Long was a bit bemused by Saria. He loved children, and he had met all of his grandchildren at least once, but he couldn't recall them being as forward as Saria, with Donovan's stubbornness but with a sweetness that rivaled anyone he had ever known. Well that and he wasn't use to anyone asking if they were hurting him outside of a spar.

Even then, unless he had done something particularly reckless, most wouldn't worry to much about him being hurt. He generally bounced back quickly.
