[Shenja and Kalteth]

She bounced a little with sheer joyous energy, and Shenja had to wait before handing her more meat so that he didn't get smacked in the face with the meat or, worse, the knife.

Roan was watching the others from his spot farther away from them. He looked down at Syriacuth, he felt unsure but maybe he should join them? If only to hear any instructions from the candidate master. Though he wasn't a candidate anymore was he?

'You're a Mine,' Syriacuth provided as he set his head near Roan's knee. Not touching but within reach of Roan's hand which immediately began to rub at his eyes ridges again, moving further down to his neck.

The dragon seemed content until the unwanted touch came to his neck and he hissed at Roan, drawing his wings up. 'Head only.' He said before settling again, though his whirling eyes watched Roan's hands carefully now.

The boy moved his hand back up, careful to keep his touches away from the dragonling's neck. His eyes straying back to the others. He never did like being around others much, never knowing what to say could put you at odds with people and he didn't want to cause an argument. Though he still did need to thank that young man who tried to help him when Syriacuth charged him. And maybe apologize to the other weyrlings and candidates his dragon had scratched up so badly... 'Stop thinking so much, I'm tired.' The blue said, his... well Roan could only describe it as his mental voice sounded sleepy and the teen admitted he was growing tired too. Once this hatching was over, he wasn't sure what was next, maybe they could sleep for a little while? He didn't know what breaking out of an egg felt like but it must be hardwork.

'It is. Very hard work.' The blue's voice came in again.

Thrarothar and Bumilth
She snorted and bobbed her head. Mine is telling me exactly the same thing. He also wouldn't let me climb up onto the table though I really wanted to. Well we can't have a race if Poth is tired for sure.

Thrarothar tilted his head noticing the green's distraction. "Who are you talking to?" He held out another piece to distract her.

Bumilth perked her head. Oh oh to Kalteth! We're going to have a race later. She hummed and gulped down the meat.

[Shenja and Kalteth]
Onto the table??? What a great idea!

Being up high sounded like fun, and she could make it a game!
Shenja looked at the table.
"Thats... a lot of buckets. Can it wait?" he said quietly, offering another piece of meat, "What about the race?"
Kalteth giggled,
"Yes. Yes I will." he gave Tharothrar a little wave. It felt polite. A lot of things just felt right, right now. So many people, too. He could talk to them all., and he had Kalteth, and... and...
Shenja felt like the luckiest guy in the world. It was surprising. It was not-quite-real. It was perfect.

Roan shifted and stood, stretching his legs, kneeling beside his blue to feed him was starting to hurt. 'Syriacuth, we should join the others.' He said, trying to speak through the link. He wasn't sure he was doing it right as he felt as if he was talking to himself.

The blue raised his sleepy head and noticed where Roan was looking at the two greens chatting to each other, though they were loud and he was sleepy, he wasn't going to blow off the young females that he may someday chase. With a huff he rose up and shook his shoulders, his wings expanding and retracting before walking over to them, plopping down once again when he was closer, only 2 feet away from everybody, letting that be his personal space and he dropped his head back down on his paws. 'Hello.' He said as he looked at Kalteth and Bumilth. 'Mine, come sit and rub my head again.' He asked, his eyes turning to his rider who walked over abit shyly and settled closer to the blue, rubbing his head as asked.

"Hi there, I'm Roan... Congradulations on Impressing." He said abit stiffly but still with a smile.

Narisa, for as intently as she kept watch on the remaining eggs and the hatchlings, was somewhat aware of what went on near the feeding tables. Though she couldn't hear any of it or be exactly sure about the bristling of new weyrlings and their dragonets, there was definitely one thing she was sure on.

"Those are definitely your hatchlings alright." She mused to her dragon. Who had finally settled into a more relaxed position and lost almost all her irritation. Especially with most of her children having Impressed.

I will assume that was meant to be a compliment. Ceph snorted, moving her head around to rest beside her rider in silent invitation to scratch that one spot... ah yes! That one!

"Take it however you like. It's totally true. They've got enough bits of your personality in them that I'm sure the whole Weyr will just be so thankful."

They just have to learn how to handle wonderful babies like mine, clearly.

"Whatever." Narisa murmured, staring intently at the pale dragonet. Was that a Bronze? Brown? He was handsome, whichever he was. And it eased more of her worry seeing him. Brown or Bronze, she was happy to see him. Perhaps I'll look into some of the older records on clutches later. She thought quietly to herself. Just to ease my own feelings. "I'm proud of you, Ceph." She added, leaning into her Gold partner.

The combination of praise from her bonded and that of Moriath had Cepheith preening. She hummed warmly towards those hatchlings still on the Sands that had not Impressed yet, and also towards the remaining eggs. Thank you dearly, Moriath. She said proudly to the Crimson and the same dragons as before. However Cepheith paused, and switched to privately speaking with Suunath. Thank you, sister. Mine has been overly worried about too many things regarding my clutch. I wish she would not stress herself so.

While Cepheith was chatting with other dragons, Narisa watched as the last dragonet on the Sands found His. Which left the two remaning eggs that had not twitched. At least not that she had seen. The Goldrider eyed them warily, considering if they should wait a little longer or if these two were going to need a little extra assistance hatching?

Poth was starting to get full now, or at least she was eating more slowly, which gave Tacelon a little time to look around at the other hatchlings and their riders. There were a lot of greens, some blues, a couple browns...no bronzes? It seemed odd not to have a queen's clutch with no bronzes. Not that he would have Impressed one anyway, but there were probably a lot of other people who would be disappointed by it. Had everyone hatched safely, despite the storm and the wet? Another look at the sands showed that there were still two eggs unhatched, small ones that could well be atypicals. He certainly hoped they were; little dragons that just needed help hatching, and not dragons that had been harmed by the turmoil.

Nobody else addressed Tacelon or Poth for the moment, so they were content to sit and listen. Poth didn't need to talk to enjoy the others' company, and Tacelon was still trying to get used to the idea that he'd really Impressed.

Sahar let a rare moment of open disappointment show on his face as several more candidates filed off the sands with Theirs.

He had hoped that...maybe? Then again, maybe not?
Who was to know? Who was he to know?
Everyone in the Weyr had said that the Dragons themselves were the final Judgement to those who stood before them. That there were qualities that made some people a Rider and some that did not. Even he couldn't guess exactly what those were with all of his infinite curiosity.

With a vocal sigh, he turned away from the feeding table less the feeling creep deeper...No. He shook his head and gave himself a mental slap across the face. No disappointment! No depression! With a huff, a smile found it's way back into the world.

After all, they still had two little ones left.
Plus, with luck, Sahar might have a chance at seeing an Atypical for the first time.

(Vail and Nash)

Hey, now that was amusing. The entire group just impressed that went to help the mauled kid, well not him nor his brother. Yet. Vaail grinned and turned back, looking over the eggs. Two to hatch and it was a bit unnerving to dwell on it for long. They had never been separated before, not for long and chance was slim but there, that one of them might and the other wouldn't.

Or they just might not impress at all and he wasn't sure if that was preferable or not and the eggs were tiny left the hatch. Tiny, big eggs. It wasn't as if they were small poultry eggs.

The little one was gone now. Naanash still wasn't sure if the new dragon was bronze or brown. He was thinking brown. He wished them luck and turned back to the eggs and wondered if any of the dragons inside would be theirs or others.

"It's really nerve-wracking, isn't it?"

Sahar had slipped through what little of the crowd remained to go stand near Nash. A look of apology covered his face, mostly geared towards any scare he might have given him before looking back at the tiny eggs.

"I've been hearing the word 'Atypical' flying around ever since that last Hatchling wandered off the sands..." He paused and tried to find a way to ask this without looking or sounding stupid.

It didn't work.
"What's an Atypical?"
If it were not for the completely confused expression, a native would think the candidate for a complete idiot.

Naanash blinked slowly, head tipped and looked over Sahar in confusion. Not overly nerve-wracking. No one had got fully mauled and get to the point please and what? Really? Alright, he knew most things by rumors, they traveled from Weyr to hold and things got around and most of it was from flits and medical knowledge- but not knowing what an atypical was?

He coughed, swallowing his first snark loaded and sarcastic answer. "Atypicals are blacks, silvers, crimson." There had been two of them when they had been drying the sands and okay, maybe he hadn't been around for that. "Whites... they are sort of like premature babies in a way. They can't hatch without outside help and need a lot of special care."

Silver?
Crimson?
Black?

Sure, even he had heard about the White Dragon of Legend but that had been a bedtime story from when he had been naught but a toddler! Sahar barely even remembered what the tale had been about; he didn't think it was really connected to these dragons.

Shardit, his head hurt now thinking about it.

"Do you think we might see some of them? Or do you think the last two are duds?"

Niyx couldn't help, but overhear Sahar's question as the young woman turned blinking down at her fellow candidate. "You've really never seen an atypical before?" She asked her tone a mix of shocked puzzlement before she let out a soft cough.

"Excuse me. That was rude of me. Did you go to the candidate lessons? There was a black and a silver there helping dry the sands. I'm sure if you don't get lucky and impress one a rider would surely introduce you if you asked." Niyx added flashing him a brilliant smile at the boy hoping for his sake he did impress. Though an atypical might be a bit much for someone who'd never even heard of them to handle.

Naanash coughed as the woman, giving her a slight glare and sighed. "There is a black and a crimson watching, if you actually look up from the sands and to the left," he muttered, motioning to the stands and the dragon perches. "They been there for a while."

Okay, now Sahar just wanted to crawl into the nearest mining tunnel and vanish for a few turns.

Even with the smile and encouraging words, he still felt his face turn bright red from embarrassment....And why hadn't he thought to look at the Stands in the first place?

Oh that's right.
He was watching the Clutch and who was Impressing.
Swallowing, he turned his red face downwards and shuffled a little in place. Oh, how the rumors were going to spread later tonight. That was going to be fun....
