 Shikarama Nara, The Dedicated Genius 58518/60143 Quote: Choice: Active: Shadow Rasengan A unique form of rasengan formed entirely from a Nara's special shadow chakra. It takes on a darker shade. When it impacts, rather then causing physical damage, it explodes outwards, enveloping a 10 meter diameter area in shadow. Shikarama, seeing it try to exit the room, grabbed a paticular kunai and through it towards the insect. He rushed after the mechanical bug. As he would get closer, he thrusted the shadow rasengan at it. On contact with the bug, the shadow rasengan would explode into a more then 10 meter radius shadow that would envelope the area around them. Shikarama would be unaffected by it, but the shadow would bind down the insect, holding it paralyzed. It would likely fall it this worked, left unable to fly, and hopefully unable to use the weapon it wielded. It would have to try and use physical strength to escape, given it's likely lack of chakra.

 Kazama had been in the room, slumped in the corner with the rest of the examinees for far too long. His answer was apparently no for he was granted no access to the stairs. For the majority of the time that he was inside of that chamber with the rest of the examinees, it was nothing but silence. He was still determined however, for progress wise he was ahead next to Logan, Mizu and Nara. If he had to be here all night even if it meant he was going to reach the next level, then so be it. But what happened next when the man in green showed up opened Jet's eyes...
He appeared, disappointed in the rest of the examinees that had made it this far. Who know what he was feeling with the ones who were behind exam wise. But fortunately for the examinees, the man in green still gave them a chance to redeem their value and reach the next level which was the Jounin status. Surely the rest of the examinees were excited to hear that. All they had to do was answer more riddles and from there the chances of passing would increase for them all. However...
Maybe it was the way that the man in green said it, or the fact that it was true, or perhaps the fact that it wasn't as entertaining as the Chuunin Exams. But something didn't sit right with Jet. Since passing the Chuunin Exams he wanted to pass the Jounin exams with flying colors; go into the exams with a fully loaded chakra pool, in near perfect condition physically and mentally and ready to kick a**. He had been so focused on other goals and had been focusing physically, that intellectually Jet wasn't able to match the level that he needed to be at in order to proceed. While the reactions of the rest of the examinees were exchanged against one another, he stood in the corner, thinking about the man's words.
Along with his position in the exams, and if he wanted to end it this way.
Moments afterwards, Kazama had stood up and brushed off his shoulders. "Probably...going to regret this..." he thought to himself. Especially in his match against Tagas in the future. When if he wasn't prepared, and he would have had to become a jounin to even try to beat him? "We'll see where the dice lands..."
Kazama walked a few steps towards the rest of the crowd, hearing in the back of his head that he was doing a bad thing and that he should reconsider. but he knew...he knew he'll eventually make it. Tagas's blood will be on his hands, Marasol and his friends will reuinite again , and everything will be back to normal-ish. Once he was in appropriate distance to the man in green, Jet gave his last words...
His resignation.
"No...not this way..." he let his first part of his speech settle in before continuing. "If I'm going to the next stage of shinobi. In nearly anything I want to do that involves training and becoming the best I want to be pushed to the limit, whether its intellectually, physically, whatever. And if proceeding to the status of Jounin, means that you're switching the difficulty of the exams........then I'd rather stay a Chuunin for now."
Short but sweet was the goal of his speech, and with that, he began to take his leave. "See you, or whoever is hosting the Jounin exams, in a few months." he said with a grin, saluting them. Perhaps it would have touched others that were in the exam. Or maybe they would have laughed in his face as they were going to proceed to the next level. But Kazama's destiny and path hasn't yet to be revealed. He had so much more to obtain. But was the man in green really dumbing it down? To Jet, he thought so.

The mechanical insect was caught by the Shadow Rasengan, the force of the dense sphere of coherent shadows enough to freeze it in mid-flight even as it brought it crashing down to the floor. Two of it's four wings became dented, the tinny sound of motors straining to move still audible in the large chamber. It wasn't able to move, though the weapon it held alongside it's underbelly glowed with a baleful orange glow, energy building up as it prepared to fire. It wasn't pointed at any of the examinees, but instead where it had been frozen, pointing at the already-open door. It seemed there was no harm in letting it fire, as long as nobody were to arrive at the same time. It's slender metallic legs strained, unable to apply enough force to break it's bindings. Yet it seemed to be making progress, in tiny, incremental measures. It would break free, sooner or later, even at the cost of breaking it's own servos and gears. Steam leaked from several of it's joints, heat buildup taxing it even further.

All three of them quickly moved back. Hariko formed a water arrow, and took aim. he released it at the bug's head. given the arrows penetrative ability, it would be unlikely the insect would be able to stop it. The moment the arrow would penetrate 2 inches into the insect, the water arrow would explode.

 The water arrow hit the insect dead-on, and as expected, detonated a moment later, the kinetic force of the water's explosion sending small bits of shattered metal flying. The insect was now in a right sorry state, three of it's wings just gone, while the last was bent perpendicular to the norm. It's legs twitched at the ground, even as the energy build-up continued unabated. A moment later, it's legs seemed to grip the floor, but not to stand. Bits of machinery emerged from the panels making up the floor, bolstering the insect's form even as it struggled to it's feet. As it repaired itself, it's form changed, shifting from the insectoid to the bestial. Six legs became four, while it's frame became more solid and durable. Still somewhat insectoid, it seemed a cross between the two. Propped up on four stiletto-tipped legs, it bore a single ruby-red lens, which irised as it focused on the ones who had attacked it. It's legs skittered madly as it rushed for the door once more, now moving much quicker than before. It seemed more capable now, almost as if the flawed parts that had enabled it to become damaged the first time had been discarded.

It was truly a strange technology. The three chased after the machine now, not attacking for the moment as they attempted to track it and better understand it.

The quadrupedal insectoid skittered forward, darting through the door and beginning to race up the stairs. The atmosphere seemed cleaner, less dense now, there was nothing stopping it- or anyone else!- from scaling the walls or otherwise finding a shortcut. It opted for the walls, the points of it's feet digging into the walls and finding traction easily. It rushed upward, giving no mind to it's pursuers, or at least doing nothing to try to stop them from following it. It had something more important on it's artificial mind. The large red lens of it's eye was brightening regularly, almost in time with it's heartbeat, if it would have had one.

They rushed up the stairs after it. The Nara concentrated, as a wave of darkness flowed over him. It shaped itself into the Eclipso armor. They did their best to tail it as they quickly ascended, keeping their eyes on it.

The insectoid machine, upon noticing it was no longer being attacked, sped up still further, making a dash for the exit. With no one to stop it, the route out of the exams and toward Hidden Gear seemed wide open. While it possessed weaponry, it seemed to favor a quick escape, as if it were focused on achieving something. But for good or ill?

They knew not what it's intentions were if it had any, but for now, they would follow this beast of mechanism towards whatever destination it sought.

The insectoid machine had reached the entrance to the building. One more step from any of it's four slender legs would take it outside. It spared a moment to crane it's head back, the focal lens that was it's eye irising wider as it judged the distance between it and it's pursuers. They weren't attacking, but they were still following. Would they become an obstacle later, would they need to be attacked before they could become so? No, speed was of the essence, it had to reach Hidden Moon. The moment it stepped outside of the structure, it's parts began to whir into motion, even the ones unconnected to moving. Gears spun, flywheels clicked, springs sprung. It seemed to have some inner reservoir of supplies, because it began to visibly enlarge, bulking up and shifting to a bipedal form, like the ones following it. It was a machine, yet partially organic. As such, it seemed to be evolving, becoming stronger and more capable of fulfilling it's program.

They watched as it had begun to grow, changing itself. They were uncertain what this thing was or what it intended, but all they could do was try and follow it for now. Or at least Shikarama did. Hariko didn't really have to follow. He did so out of curiosity.

The newly-evolved mechanical biped rushed forward, putting more distance between it and the structure that had housed the exams. As it ran, several discs on it's torso began to glow, before being jettisoned a moment later. After a mere instant, they burst into dense clouds of metallic chaff. It wasn't anything that could be construed as a barrier, but it provided cover, to buy the creation the chance to try to put some distance between it and it's pursuers. They had been following it for long enough that it had just about determined that they would be a hindrance if they stayed close by the time it finally reached Gears. There wasn't much further to go, it would arrive sooner or later.

The bow and arrows can function equally well when in the form of ice. The bow itself is strong, and can be used for defense, and expand the water out like a shield. He may normally fire one arrow per post for 500 cp. But, he may pay 1500 to release up to five arrows either in rapid fire, or a single burst. If released in this fashion, the arrows are somewhat less accurate. In order to block these arrows, a physical or energy barrier jutsu must have at least 2000 cp worth of power, other then earth jutsu which only require 1500 . The barrier will still be damaged by the arrows and could given in from several hits. A barrier that is 4000 or more cp can withstand the arrows without taking any major damage. - 500 Choice: Post: Shikarama looked curiously as the discs were released, He quickly formed a portal from his shadow, using the eclipso, disappearing into it. The technobeast either didn't notice Shikarama's work of stealth, or didn't let it slow it down. After jettisoning the chaff, it had renewed it's pace, rushing through the wilds separating the exam from Hidden Gears. It's weapon, a large barreled firearm of unknown design that was actually grafted onto it's arm, was charged and ready, a line of light ran along it's side, yet it hadn't gone so far as to actually use it's weapon yet. Saving ammunition, or simply saving time?
