Nocturne: -Bumps right into her sister and clacks her chopsticks against Serenade's, chiming happily- [Sera! <333]
Serenade: -Chimes a little in surprise- [Nocturne. Watch where you're going, you're going to break something running into others like that.]
Nocturne: -Wiggles ALL up on Serenade, totally dismissing anything she had before and clacking her chopsticks against Serenades- [Where's big brother? Did your grumpiness eat him?]
Serenade: -Clacks her chopsticks against the side of her bowl in dismay.- [I'm not grumpy! Am I?]
Nocturne: -Realizing her mistake, the bowl wiggled, tapping her sister- [I meant serious! You're serious!]
Serenade: -Considers this for a moment.- [I guess that's better?]
Nocturne: [See! Except sometimes you are grumpy in the mornings....]
Serenade: -Clacks her sticks sharply against her phone.- [Just cause I go off on my own in the mornings doesn't mean I'm grumpy! I just like quiet when I first wake up, which I won't get around all of you guys.]
Nocturne: [Aw! I can be quiet! Look, I'll be quiet... now. Well not now because I said now which means I wasn't quiet right then, but I totally could be quiet.]
Serenade: [.....No, I don't think you could. You've got way too much energy.]
Nocturne: [That is not true.] -She wiggled in place, chopsticks clacking in defiance- [I can. I really can.]
Serenade: [......Nope, don't believe it.]
Nocturne: [.... Fine. Watch. I'mma be quiet right now.] -Instantly is quiet, however in seconds is bored of this and wiggles side to side, chiming-
Serenade: [.....You're still making noise] -She herself has been sitting perfectly quiet.-
Nocturne: [Chiming isn't speaking!]
Serenade: [I didn't say you were speaking, I said you were making noise. That's not being quiet.]
Nocturne: [What? That's... that's stupid. That doesn't count!]
Serenade: -Chimes quietly.- [Okay, now that you know the rules everything you do from now counts.]
Lyric: *Is beginning to wonder just what he does to miss so much of his family's growth these days*
Sho: *flutters out and lands slightly apart, folding his giant wings to his back*
Gale: *follows a bit behind Sho, also flying, lands close to his son*
Cadence: *has no wings, so had to walk out*
Serenade: *could fly, but decides to walk in with her mother*
Sho: *flutters out and lands slightly apart, folding his giant wings to his back*
Gale: *follows a bit behind Sho, also flying, lands close to his son*
Cadence: *has no wings, so had to walk out*
Serenade: *could fly, but decides to walk in with her mother*
Req: *Hides curled up in his father's tail*
Harmony: *Flits in, landing behind her father to investigate her younger brother.* Kinda.. small isn't he?
Serenade: *trots right up to her father, peers at her brother* Whatcha doin' hidin' in there?
Cadence: *walks over to Lyric and nuzzles him, practically purring as she views all her children and their grandchild*
Gale: *ghosts forward quietly behind his mother, stops beside his oldest sister and peers at his father's tail with her*
Sho: *follows Gale, walking just as softly; stops behind him and Harmony and uses his superior height to look over then and at the two tiny children*
Req: *Eyes his litter mate quietly with large doe like eyes.*
Lyric: *Nuzzles Cadence in return* My dear, I do belive our household as expanded exponentially.
Harmony: *Snickers* Dad.. it did that when the first of us got here..
Serenade: Huh. You don't talk much? Guess Noc got all the talk then.
Cadence: *laughs, leans over and taps her eldest's nose before leaning back into Lyric* Six children now, and soon you'll be finding your own mates and have your own kids. We might have to expand the house.
Gale: *watches the children curiously*
Sho: *watching the little, one of whom he knows from when she was a bowl, though keeps his ears open for the conversation going on around him*
Req:*Wiggles his ears in a way to try to comunicate.*
Lyric: *Smiles* True.. And yes.. We might very well need to... Grandchildren... everything.. so many...
Harmony: *Giggles* It's ok.... I'm in no rush to go out and have kids... *Looks to her brother's son.* Not that kids aren't cute.. Just don't think there's some one out there terribly interested in me ^W^
Serenade: *snorts, looks up at her parents* I'ma build a greenhouse and live in it, so you guys can use my room for something else. *looks down at her little brother* You can live in there with me too, if you want. Not Nocturne though, she's too loud and energetic.
Cadence: *silently chuckles at Serenade's statement, but directs her words at Lyric* Well, it's something we can plan on doing in the future, anyway. As far as I know there's nothing in the offing- *heard Harmony* -, but surprises do happen. *smiles at Sho*
Gale: *soft voice* I don't have anyone interested in me, but I already have a son. Kids happen when you least expect them.
Sho: *arranges himself a bit protectively behind Gale, nods in response to Cadence's smile*
Req: *smiles and gives a small wiggle of his noce before a soundless laugh*
Lyric: *Shakes his head some* Well we'll always have options though.
Harmony: I didn't mean anything bad by it.. Honnestly. I just meant that I was't activly saught after.. Besides Sho's adorable... *Grins* and.. I moved out a while back... so my room's empty too.
Serenade: *tilts her head* Can't tell if that's a yes or a no.
Cadence: Quite turn. *glances at Harmony again, arranges her face in mock sadness* Though if our oldest children are already starting to leave us, we might have plently of room. Not if there was a large family living with us, but I imagine visits wouldn't be too crowded.
Gale: *just smiles softly and bumps Harmony's shoulder with his own*
Sho: *snorts* Excuse me? I'm an adult now, and bigger than all of you. I think I stopped being "adorable" a long time ago.
Req: *Nods a few times before slowly crawling out of his father's tail and turning those doe like wide eyes at the rest of his family*
Lyric: She's a grown girl Cadence... We knew it'd happen some day.. And yes. Visits won't be too terribly crowded.. unless they all visit at once and are snowed in by a blizzard...
Harmony: *Grins and Snuggles into Gale some before turning a rather cheeky look to her nephew* Grown and tall or not.. You're still going to remain my adorable fluffy little nephew...
Serenade: Awesome. *smiles a little* Guess first I gotta get someone to build me a greenhouse. *eyes her father*
Cadence: *giggles a little at the looked Serenade is giving Lyric* Gale: *crouches down a bit so he's more on eye level with the kits*
Sho: *snorts* I'd threaten to drop you in a lake for that, but unfortunately you have wings.
Req: *looks from one member to the next each in turn.*
Lyric: * Follows Serenade's conversation and look.* Oh no.. Not me.. I'm.. an old man *Mock cough*
Harmony: *Chuckles* That and I don't mind going for swims in the lake.. so.. point is moot.
Serenade: *pouts* But I need someone to build it for me. How else am I going to make potions for your aching joints if I can't grow the proper plants?
Cadence: *chuckles in amusement, but tries coming to her mate's aid* Seasonal stuff is good enough for you right now as you learn. If you want it to be your hothouse, it might be best if you build it yourself. That'll make it more special, don't you think.
Gale: *smiles silently at the conversations going on*
Sho: No, that takes away the whole point and lessens my satisfation. I guess I could sit on you, tiny as you are compared to me. Juvenile, but it's all I got right now.
Req: *Laughs silently once more and scoots over to sit beside his brother*
Lyric: *Your mother's got a point.. building something with your own steme does make it more special.
Harmony: Sit on me?? *Chuckles* I might just tickle you till you wet yourself.
Serenade: *grumbles* Fine. But when I do, none of you are allowed inside without permission!
Cadence: *chuckles* I suppose that sounds fair
Gale: *examines his new little brother unobstrusively while still listening to the conversations, amused*
Sho: Che, like you'd be able to reach. I don't think you're understanding the concept of being sat upon; it means pinned, completely able to move 'til I decide to take my fluffy white bum elsewhere
Req: *Places his paws on his brothers face and investigates him for a moment.*
Lyric: Fair.. It'll be your sanctuary. This I promise you ok?
Harmony: Your dad obviously didn't tell you just how easily I can get out of things did he? *Chuckles again* My.. so serious, Sho... Lighten up will ya??
Lysia: ((Req's ability once he does open up will be something dead related... >.> hence his name ^W^ Maybe it's the dead calling for him to sing to lay them at peace that has him so afraid to speak...))
Serenade: *gives her family a suspcious look* I dunno... What if you think you need to come in there to look for me, or to "tidy up"?
Cadence: Well, maybe you should figure out how to make sure we can't.
Gale: *closes his eyes on the side of his face Requiem is exploring, sits there with good-natured patience*
Sho: You've obviously never been sat on by a god before. And I like being irritable, sue me.
Req: *Sniffs and snuffles about at his brother's head, getting to know him as best as he could with just sight, smells and touch. Once satisfied with Gale's face, he moves to inspect other things like Gale's wings.*
Lyric: *Smiles* You're mother's right.. Besides.. if we're looking for you.. We can knock and call to you.. but you have to agree to answer us... Even if you're hiding from your siblings, ok?
Harmony: *Shakes her head some.*
Serenade: *snorts* I already invited Req to live with me. Everyone else but Noc are usually off somewhere doing something, so she's the only one I'd be hiding from.
Cadence: She does seem to enjoy chewing on your ears.
Gale: *lightly moves his wings under the questing paws, shifting to give his brother a better understanding of their build* Sho: *takes her silence as a win, pleased with himself and goes back to watching his baby uncle poke his father*
Req: *Shifts and moves as he imspects them before realizing he has his nephew's attention on him. Giving Sho those wide doe like eyes aswell, he slowly shrinks off Gale's wing to shrink under it instead.*
Lyric: Harmony Use to enjoy pestering her siblings too.. remember?
Harmony: What?? It was harmless kid stuff.. besides.. if anyone hurt them i was there to bean them for their offenses...
Serenade: She and Noc can battle it out them. Youngest versus oldest or something.
Cadence: Oh my! Maybe it's a good thing some of the kids are moving out if this is what we're getting! *laughs*
Gale: *looks behind him, speaks in his usual whisper voice* It's alright. He looks scarier than he is.
Sho: *snorts, lays down and curls his tail around himself*
Req: *Peeks out and eyes his older nephew giving him a smile before looking off beside Sho like he's watching something that really isn't there at all.*
Lyric: Maybe... Other wise we might be finding one house wide war started...
Harmony: Nah.. I've Kinda grown out of it to be honest... It's not as much fun when you're older.. though it's not much fun being so much smaller than your nephew either... All joking aside.. he'd crush me if he sat on me with that bit fluffy butt...
Serenade: Too bad we don't got horns to go with the wings.
Cadence: Well I don't think you'd get your head into play anyway sweetie, otherwise you could just bit. Horns traditionally tend to curl, not point up, so they just help to give you a hard head.
Gale: *follows Req's gaze curiously*
Sho: *gives himself an all-over shake* Ugh. I'm glad I'm not something like a death or supernatural god, it's bad enough getting that creepy feeling.
Req: *Watches that which is not seen a while longer before looking to his nephew and back at the 'invisible' thing.*
Lyric: Well.. there are those that do have pointed hornes.. but i think those are few...
Harmony: *Blinks and eyes her baby brother before looking up at
Sho: Creepy feeling.. you mean there's something dead hanging about?
Serenade: *never seen those before*
Cadence: *nods* Those tend to be unique traits, yes.
Gale: *wings twitch a little, curious*
Sho: Not always. Dead things, magic, some fae creature. Could be any number of things.
Req: * Shifts like he's trying to hear it better.. Before taking a small wooshing sort of gasp of air, shaking his head and scrambling to hide in Sho's fluffy tail.*
Lyric: Very unique, Serenade.. There are those with what look to be antlers and some who even whear armor..
Harmony: So.. what ever it is Req can see it?
Serenade: Odd...
Cadence: Different, mostly. Differences usually seem odd to those who don't have those differences.
Gale: *looks surprised at Req's sudden leap*
Sho: *nearly jumps himself as something small and fluffy suddenly burrows into his tail, but manages to keep still* How should I know. See it, sense it, hear it. Hearing seems most logical, given his mother possesses music-based magic, Unless your dad secretly has magic, I can't think of why he should be seeing stuff unless magic did one of those annoyingly unexpected things.
Req: *Muzzle pokes out from his hiding spot.*
Lyric: It's our diferences that make us unique... You wouldn't want your siblings calling you strange or odd because you have wings when they do not, right?
Harmony: *Looks over at her father and shrugs* To be honest.. Dad doesn't talk much about his past if it doesn't concern music or mom.. so really Who knows what he could be a carrier of...
Serenade: *raises an eyebrow, glances over at Nightingale and Harmony* Uh huh. Pretty sure half of them got nothing taunt me over.
Cadence: *does a quick count, finds it a little amusing that the family is divided evenly between normals and demon-winged*.
Gale: *looks between Sho and Harmony with curiousity, glances at Dad as well and back to his sister* I've never noticed anything, and Mom's never said...
Sho: Well who wants to have visual magic. Either you see creepy stuff or you creep people out. I wouldn't admit to it either. *looks back at his baby uncle* You okay in there? Not gonna get lost, good oxygen supply?
Lysia: ((lolol i think Req found his fav family members hahaha))
Req: *Nods from inside his hiding spot.*
Lyric: Well.. Half of them might have the wings.. but there's the other half.. All we're saying is.. not to be so... unthoughtful of the things you say to discribe differences.
Harmony: *Nods* I think I agree... If i saw strange things I doubt I'd even tell my mate... *Eyes her dad carefully wondering just what he's hiding....*
Serenade: *defensive* What? If it's odd it's odd. I didn't say bad odd.
Cadence: Try unique next time. It means the same thing, almost, but sounds a bit nicer.
Gale: *looks thoughtful* Maybe it's rare? I mean Mom's got two kinds of magics, but they work in tandem so it only seems like one. Noc and I got music magic and Sera got plant magic, but no one else has gotten both. Maybe Rec got a combo, but instead plant and music he got one of Mom's magics and the other from Dad?
Sho: *shrugs, wings shifting with the movement* Well, magic is some weird stuff. Heck, you could all have gotten something from him if combos are in your DNA, but it's just dormant since Cadence seems to have particularly upfront stuff. Maybe Req's just the first unlucky kid to get the dormant gene raging full force since great-great-grandpa or something like that. It happens.
Cadence: *trying to fight past her human's want to play Harvest Moon and eat food*
Serenade: *staring at the bowls, plotting how best to win them over to her side over Yami's*
Nightingale: *quietly watching his new nieces and nephews*
Sho: *wanders over to the bowls and stares expectantly at them, planning to have a conversation with all three to let them in their dad and aunt are weird*
Bolero: *chimes* [Hello]
Tempo: *just freaking beams at everyone* Everyone, this is Bolero. Yami and I haven't quite gotten the other names down yet~ Yami tells me I lied; he's decided the girl's name is 'Yugi' Yugi: *wiggles her Hello too*
Cadence: *trots over and happily nuzzles her daughter* They're beautiful, Tempo!
Nightingale: *nods and smiles at his sister*
Serenade: Well at least they seem to look a lot like you so far. That's good.
Sho: The kid said hello, by the by. *leans in close to the bowl, whispers quietly to it* I'll talk to your siblings after the humans are done messing about, but gotta warn you. Your daddy and Aunt Serenade....don't let them infect you with their dumb moments. They'll try to pull you into their battles if they can. *nods, stands back up*
Tempo: Thank you, Mama~ *nuzzles her mother back, proud as can be, smiles at Nightingale* Will you help me teach them to sing, Gale? *To Sera* Thanks, but I can't wait to see them. I'll bet they look like both of us.
Bolero: [Don't worry, I have a secret they don't know yet~]
Cadence: *chuckles* Now you get to see what it's like to raise kids. Hope they give you as much trouble as you lot gave me!
Nightingale: *blushes a little* Father would probably be best. He's a better teacher.
Serenade: Well as long as they can see better than him, that's fine.
Sho: *chuckles softly* Anything you can tell me?
Tempo: *chuckles* You're going to spoil them, aren't you, Mama? *turns to her brother* Nonsense, you'll be a great teacher. Though I'm definitely going to ask Papa to help me too. And Yun to help them learn magic, if they can. *To Sera* Are you going to hide from them? *grins*
Bolero: [Music magic. I can affect others. I think just emotions, but I'll have to try it out to be sure. If they get too out of hand with each other, I'll sing them into peaceful thoughts] *smug*
Cadence: *grins* Of course! It's practically required for a grandmother to spoil her grandchildren!
Serenade: Pfff! Two strange males around a kit? It's common sense to go somewhere safe in case they're weirdos. These guys are family.
Nightingale: *still seems a little reluctant about how much help he could be*
Sho: *half-listening to the others, privately thinks Gale could be a big help; Bolero's power sounded quite close to what his father could do with his own music magic* That's a very good secret. Try to keep it secret too, cause if they figure it out it might not work.
Tempo: *grins back at her mother* As long as you don't fill them full of candy right before sending them home. *to Gale, since she knows that look* You'll be great, you taught Sho wonderfully, after all. *to Sera* /Technically/, little sister, Yami and Yun are your family too as Yami and I are lifemated. *flicks tail and smiles*
Bolero: *tinkles a laugh* [Of course I wont be telling them. Daddy may guess though....]
Cadence: Oh no, that would be bad for them! I'll think up something a bit better.
Serenade: Well I didn't know that since I wasn't introduced to them, formally or otherwise, big sister.
Nightingale: *looks curiously at Sho and Bolero* What are you two talking about?
Sho: *shakes his head* It's a secret. You'll have to ask Bolero for permission if you want to know. *looks back at the bowl* They can guess all they want. If they don't know for sure though, it's still a secret.
Tempo: I'm just kidding, mama. *eyes her mother suspiciously for the 'something better' comment. *blushes at Sera's comment* Yes, well, that will be remedied as soon as possible....
Bolero: [True. And I intend to keep it that way as long as possible.]
Cadence: *grins* Well I'm not! *chuckles*
Serenade: Well too late for that, at least with that weird dude who's your mate.
Sho: I wish you luck with that. *glances at the quiet Rakesh and the non-present Yugi* Wonder if they've got secrets too. Did you tell them your secret like you told me?
Nightingale: *smiles a little as he watches Sho; the god already did really well with the shy Requiem and more energetic Nocturne and Serenade; he appeared to be good with children*
Tempo: *shakes head* I may just leave them all with you for a night or two, Mother, if you spoil them too much. *to Sera* He's not weird...well, not really. I'm goin to introduce him anyway.
Bolero: *tinkles uncertainly* [I might tell Rakesh, I'm not sure if I'll tell Yugi. She might tell Dad. I have a feeling she'll be a daddy's girl]
Cadence: *laughs at that* Ooh good, give Grandma several /days/ to work her magic! Well, the nonmagical magic, you know what I mean.
Serenade: He's weird. End of story.
Jinx: Sera, you're so mean XD
Sho: *nods* Then I promise I won't say anything in case you change your mind about telling them. *glances over at his dad* You might tell your Uncle Nightingale later though. *speaks quietly* His secret is a lot like yours.
Gale: *looks curious* What are you whispering to him?
Sho: *looks up, winks* That's also a secret.
Tempo: *wrinkles her nose at her mother* I will hype them up before leaving them with you. *smiles, though. To Sera* He's not weird, he's a pirate. A Devil Pirate.
Bolero: [Then Mama's right, he should teach me~!] *wiggles a chopstick at his Uncle Gale*
Cadence: You can't scare me girl, I've got babies of my own!
Serenade: And that's weird.
Sho: *chuckles* Well your uncle is really shy, so you'll have to think of a good way to ask.
Gale: ...*not sure if he approves of the one side of the conversation he's hearing*
Tempo: *chuckles at her mom* Haha, I suppose that's true. They're gonna love you and Daddy. *sticks tongue out at Sera* You're weird. *reaches over to ruffle her hair*
Bolero: [Will big kit eyes work?]
Cadence: *grins* Well, that's the plan anyway.
Serenade: *grumbles at the hair-ruffling, but doesn't move away* Never said I wasn't.
Sho: Hmmm. Maybe, or they could backfire big time.
Gale: *yup, really doesn't approve of the one side of the convo he's hearing*
Tempo: Of course they'll love you, Mama. You're the only Grandma they have, and you're going to spoil them rotten. *chuckles at Sera* No, you never did. And you never should, or you'd be lying. *blinks* Oh yes, and I have to get my kids to bounce on you. I did promise you nieces and nephews that would jump on you.
Bolero: [What if I just follow him around until he teaches me.] *stubborn kit is stubborn*
Cadence: Guess I'll just have to spoil them twice as much then!
Serenade: Uuuh huh. They can try, but I can climb higher than they can wiggle right now.
Sho: Well he's got wings and you don't, so that might not work either.
Tempo: That is sooo not what I meant, Mama. *shakes head with a grin* Not if they do a surprise attack, Sera. *grins*
Bolero: [...he would leave his /defensless/ nephew all /alone/?] *can barely stop his bowl from tinkling with laughter*
Cadence: *just grins*
Serenade: *snorts* They can /try/. I grew up with Nocturne.
Sho: No. He'd either leave me with you, or circle overhead to make sure you were alright
Zanshin: ((Also, read the txt wrong, the girl's name isn't Yugi >.>))
Jinx: ((XD))
Tempo: *just snuggles her mom. eyes Sera* I wonder if any of them can float. *imagines Sera being followed by a floating bowl and snickers*
Bolero: [Hmmm...how would you go about asking him?]
Vanhi: [*watches as her family talks with each other*]
Serenade: I wouldn't try it. *not sure if bowls can survive immersion in water or not*
Sho: You don't. He comes up to you and offers. That's how he first started teaching me.
Jinx: ((Guys.... I'm sorry for Rakesh. Just sayin' it now. He just....happened like that > _>))
Tempo: Well, you'll probably have to tell /them/ that.
Bolero: [What if I tell him I'm having problems controlling my magic? Not /lying/ of course. I may just be awesome straight out of the bowl. but if I'm /not/....]
Zanshin: ((Happened like what? O.o))
Vanhi [*spots her dad and starts to wiggle against her mommy*]
Jinx: ((Ummm, well ;^^))
Tempo: *looks up to see Yami and smiles at him*
Zanshin: ((well, what? ~_~))
Yami: *walks in rubbing the bridge of his nose and sans Eye patch* sorry I had to stop by my dad's to get healed and the coffee shop was packed or I would have been here sooner tempo *rubs his cheek against hers*
Serenade: They're your kids, why should I tell them not to go floating? Not like I visit water anyway, I'm not a fish!
Sho: I think your daddy could help you if you were having troubles. And Gale would know, he's pretty observant. If he thought you were in trouble, he'd probably offer to help. *looks at Vanhi* Hello there.
Rakesh: -Wobbles loudly into the room, clacking his chopstick against the side of the bowl and making as much noise as possible.- [Hi Mommy, hi Daddy!]
Tempo: *sits a little straighter* Healed? From what? *looks at Sera* I meant floating through the /air/ but...alright. *grins. Nuzzles her first born son* Hello Rakesh
Bolero: *tinkles a 'hi' to his dad* [I hope so. I wouldn't like to lose control of my magic and hurt someone.]
Yami: ah... I'll tell you later maybe, there are more important things going on like these little fellahs....
Tempo: *frowns at her mate* Don't think you're getting off the hook. Mom, Sera, this is Yami, my mate <3
Serenade: Well thankfully for all of us bowls can't float. *ignoooooores Yami*
Cadence: *beams* Pleasure to meet you!
Sho: I don't think you would. It appears to be more of an intent thing, so as long as you don't mean harm it shouldn't be too bad. We'll all keep an eye on you.
Rakesh: -Bubbles cheerfully like laughter, wobbles over to his sibs.- [Hey guys! Listen to this!] -Starts hissing and bubbling like a boiling pot.-
Tempo: They're part Kirin...maybe they could. *frowns at Sera now and pokes her with a paw* Be nice. *to Cadence* I'm so glad you two can finally meet. I hope you like him, Mama~
Bolero: [I don't want to get angry and hurt someone.] *sees? his big brother come up, and laughs at his antics* [Cool~! Look what I can do.] *wobbles in a way that makes the clacking of chopsticks and chopsticks rolling on the bowl sound musical, even putting it to the bubbling and hissing of Rakesh*
Vanhi [ uhuh... ]
Yami: Nice to meet you to. *turns to Tempo* uh maybe ^.^
Serenade: Nope, I don't do nice. And I've never seen a Kirin bowl float, so doubt it.
Sho: Well you just gotta learn to keep your temper separate. No one wants to sing when they're mad, anyway.
Cadence: Pleasure indeed! Looks like you two have quite a handful!
Rakesh: -Clacks his chopstick noisily.- [Yay! I like making noise, noise is fun!] -Chimes loudly in a not-so-melodic way.-
Tempo: They could use wind magic? I don't know, I'm not a kirin, nor am I magical. *chuckles* We do, Mama. And we still have to introduce everyone to Yun and Papa.
Bolero: *stops his music with the off sounds Rakesh was making* [Rakeeeesh...]
Rakesh: [What? I like noise, the noisier the better!]
Jinx: ((Yea, that's what I'm sorry for ;^^))
Yami: Kirins can float but its not a skill they develop for a while and they might pick up wind magic. Dad has it pretty strong and I got it.
Serenade: *eyes Rakesh* Hope he doesn't get it, he's loud enough already.
Yami: well its good that he's so lively if nothing else. ^.^
Rakesh: -Happily clacking as loudly as he can.-
Serenade ~_~
Vanhi: [uh... I want to listen to you Rakesh but being loud hurts my ears... may I converse with you a bit quiter?]
Rakesh: -Bubbles and steams.- [Aw, but quiet's no fun!]
Vanhi: [ well maybe.... but I cant talk with you otherwise crying]
Rakesh: [Sure you can!] -Clacks loudly.- [See? I can talk and do this at the same time!] -Bubbles happily.-
Vanhi:*does the bowl verison of tearing up* [Rakesh... its not a matter of not being able to do it... I....] *suddenly world doesnt hurt any more....*
Yun: you just had a little ear ache... you feel better now?
Rakesh: [Hi Grandpa!] -Does one of his chimes that sounds like a scaled-down verions of hammering on a sheet of mental, though it ends pleasantly enough.-
Yun: those are some pretty cool sounds your making there Rakesh *beems down at his Grandson*
Rakesh: -Happily makes more sounds for his grandpa.-
Vanhi: *is much more happier with her brother now that her ears are doing better*
Yun: are you going to try and become a musician like your mom's side of the family?
Jinx: ((I don't think Kirins can understand bowls. Is he just asking for the sake of asking?))
Nasaiki: ((Just asking for the sake of asking XD since Rakesh is making all those noises))
Rakesh: -Clacks sharply.- [I like to make noise! Is that the same as being a musician, cause I can do that!]
Vanhi- [ I dont think so Nii-chan]
Yun: Well I cant understand you yet, but what ever you decide I'm sure you'll do well in it
A young woman knelt in front of a bed of rosemary, a pair of thick gloves on her hands holding a set of trimmers. A basket sat next to her, already filled with several clippings from the plant as she cut back the bushy herb. Her hair was a vibrant shade of orange and long, in a thick braid whose end reached her waist. She had on clothing reminiscent of those Japanese woman wore when out in the rice fields, though a bit plain in simple earth colors and not nearly as loose-looking. The legs were loose instead of tied up but the sleeves were tied at the elbow to keep them from trailing and getting in her way. The skin of her arms definitely showed a light tan, though a wide-brimmed straw hat kept her face and neck safe from the sun's rays and the skin there remained gently pale.
Another young lady was taking a stroll nearby, absent-mindedly reading a manuscript. Her dark teal hair was gathered up into a bun, hidden under her bonnet. Her clothing was somewhat reminiscent of Victorian fashions, with a simple bustle skirt and light jacket, the colors muted and earthy with some details in a brighter blue, matching the markings on her tail. As she was passing by the garden, her nose caught the fragrance of fresh herbs, which drew her out of her imagining of the scenarios in the play she was reading. She walked up a little closer, hoping she wasn't being a disturbance. "Beautiful day, is it not?" she softly called out, trying not to startle the woman in the garden.
The woman glanced up from her work. Even shaded under her hat, you could see the vibrant blue of her eyes. She didn't respond to the female immediately, turning back to the plant and trimming off the spring she was holding in a gloved hand, then tucking the freshly-cut rosemary with the rest in the basket.
"It is indeed," she responded simply, moving over carefully and starting on a new plant that hadn't gotten any attention thus far.
A little disappointed with the dismissive response she got, Ophelia closed the bound manuscript and tucked it under her right arm, not moving from her spot. After pondering for a moment on how to continue the conversation, she said "'Tis a lovely little garden.. 't would seem you have taken very good care of it, for the plants to thrive so." She was trying very hard to keep her speech as normal as possible, since not many outside of her family were used to the old-fashioned manner in which they nearly all spoke.
"Is.. is there any manner in which you would like assistance?" she offered, wanting to be polite.
The woman, Serenade, felt a tiny pang of regret as she caught site of the woman's face falling from the corner of her eye. She knew she came off a bit cold and distant, but it wasn't something she seemed to be able to help. Nonetheless, when the female asked if she could help she almost snorted. Thankfully she restrained herself so she didn't seem any ruder than she was already coming off. "In those clothes? This is dirty work, you'd ruin them." Her braid fell over her shoulder; absently she pushed it back and chose another stem that needed cutting back, shortening it. No, she doubted this female knew what her offer meant. From the look of her and those papers she was clutching, she didn't spend a lot of time gardening. Probably bookish.
"Unless you don't mind getting dirt on your skirts and a bit sweaty, I don't think you'd be able to help."
Jinx: ((Apologies for her attitude. It eventually gets a little better, once you know she's not actually mean.))
Mia Lavinia: ((It's alright, Ophelia can be persistent. xD And she's not a snob even though she may give off the first impression~))
"I do not mind if my clothes get soiled - 'tis only dirt, after all. It can be washed off, or I can simply sew a new shirt", she responded lightly. Her tail wagged ever so slightly, in such small movements it was near impossible to notice. She had never done gardening, but she did like to try new things. She already took off her white cotton gloves, having every intent to remain here until she was given permission to do at least something. Every new experience made life and imagination that much more rich, after all! The more she knew, the better she would be some day able to write her very own play. And she had understood that gardening was very good for both the body and the mind.
"What would you like me to do?" she asked again, with a gentle smile. She hoped she wasn't getting on the other woman's nerves, since the last thing she wanted to do was to insult or annoy anyone.
Serenade paused and looked at the girl, quirking up an eyebrow. Shame most of her expression was hidden by her hat. Still, it seemed like this girl was actually serious...
She stood up and turned, walking up to her house and vanishing inside. She was gone for perhaps a minute, then returned with a pair of gloves and a second set of sheers in her hands. She thrust them forward, offering them towards the female. "Fine. You can help me cut back the rosemary. It's hardy, not even a novice could kill it off if they're paying attention." Which was true, otherwise she'd never let the woman help her; she was protective of her plants.
For a moment she was worried when the other girl disappeared indoors. Had she crossed a line?
Luckily that doubt disappeared and her face lit up when she came back out, giving Ophelia the gloves and shears. "Thank you! I shall give it my best effort!" she said happily. She quickly pulled the gloves on, and stepped into the garden, carefully making sure she didn't squish any of the plants in there. She gathered up her skirt some as she crouched down to the rosemary bush, beginning to prune it carefully, glancing over to her companion now and then to make sure she wasn't messing up.
Singing was not Ophelia's strongest suit, but she was decent enough at it. After a few minutes of working, despite the work being something her hands were not used to their current activity, she began to hum the tune of "Scarborough Fair" - the first song to come to her mind from all the herbs around her. It was one of the few songs she actually knew, too.
Serenade watched the girl for a moment, satisfied that she was able to at least work the sheers properly. You never knew, there could be some real idiots out there! "Just cut the stalks down about so far," she said, pointing down the row at the plants she'd already cut, then dropping to her knees at the last plant in the row and starting on that one. "Put the cuttings in the basket. I'll find a use for them later." She picked a section and began working on cutting it back.
When the girl began to sing she started minutely, but her hands didn't falter at their task. After all her whole family was musical; her mother was always singing in the garden, with her voice having a very positive effect on the plants. It was why they grew so well, not just the care of her hands alone. She frequently had to cute everything back.
Soon enough, Ophelia placed the first few stalks she'd cut into the basket, finding the task actually somewhat enjoyable. There were so many things she had never tried.. she had no idea about her brothers' interests, not having seen them in a long while, but her sister and parents were all passionate about theater, opera, just about every imaginable type of art. She was wondering what other interests the other girl had, aside from the garden, but she was holding herself back, not wanting to run her mouth the moment she met someone new. It took enough concentration to maintain her current manner of speech.
She kept smiling, her tail wagging more happily now, thinking of more things to talk about, though the other girl seemed pretty focused on the rosemary.
Serenade was already nearly finished with her bush, experienced hands moving far quickly than the other female's. She glanced over at her, feeling as if she should make some kind of conversation, yet hesitating. She didn't really want to talk about herself, not at all. Usually as soon as it got out that she was from a musical family, people asked her if she sang. Which she /could/, just not good enough to be on a performer level. And honestly, she had no interest in music. She just got so annoyed that people always seemed to expect her to be so into it, that was probably /why/ she'd gotten her standoffish shell in the first place.
Hmmmm...
She finished her plant, but instead of putting the last sprig in the basket with the others she held it speculatively in her gloved hand. "Have you used rosemary before," she suddenly asked, wondering if the woman knew anything about plants.
The sudden question nearly made Ophelia fumble with her shears, but luckily she managed to keep them in her hands, not even ruining the stalk she had been about to cut. "Um.. I do not possess outstanding culinary skills, but I have managed to prepare a few meals, some of them being Mediterranean in style - rosemary appears to be a very common seasoning there", she replied after a moment. Her father believed that everyone should be able to handle themselves in the kitchen, even if they were no chef. Thanks to that way of thinking, she could prepare a few meals from various cultures.
"May I ask what other interests you might have aside from cultivating plants?" she then asked in turn. It seemed a proper enough thing to ask, to keep conversation flowing.
Serenade moved the sprig to her gloved fingers, lightly twirling it. "It's very popular in cooking, yes. It's also popular for its scent. I could distill the oils out of these and make lovely smells candles or soap, or even a tisane of it could make a nice hair rinse. It's got other properties beyond the practical, if you're a believe in magic."
She shrugged, lightly tossing the sprig into the full basket. "I don't really have many interests outside plants. If I'm not out here I'm making things with what I grow." She tried to move the conversation off herself as quickly as possible. "What about you?"
Ophelia had heard of most of those uses at one point or another - in passing, but when Serenade mentioned them they did sound familiar to her, and she nodded in acknowledgement. Soap and candles seemed like a particularly nice use for fragrant herbs. She was incredibly fond of natural fragrances, and often used incense in her room to help her stay calm and focused when working on something.
She dropped another sprig into the basket as well, trying hard to keep up with the other girl's pace. "I harbor a deep love for theater and other performing arts.. as well as literature", she said with a smile. "I wish to some day write a play of my own."
"Don't know much about that," she said with a shrug, wiping off her sheers and locking the safety switch into place on them. Plays were in a more obscure branch of the performing arts to her; all she knew about them was some of the music stuff from the classes her dad taught, though as far as she was aware he didn't know much about plays either. She stripped off her gloves, the spicy-sweet scent of rosemary oil strong in the air. "Always been a plant person. It's very quiet and peaceful, working in the garden."
She nodded, feeling just a tad disappointed that she couldn't discuss performing arts with her new.. acquaintance? She figured that would be the correct word to use - after all, they hadn't even introduced themselves yet!
"Plants are lovely, indeed.. my mother keeps flowers in our house, and I am accustomed to looking after them as well", she admitted. It was nice to have something fragrant, colorful and living around. On some days, if she left her window open, even butterflies would find their way in. Those always brought her joy.
Finally, she was finished as well, and she placed the last few sprigs she had cut in the basket, sweeping a few stray locks of hair away from her face. She then turned to look at the other girl. "Oh, I apologize for forgetting to introduce myself.. my name is Ophelia Capulet-Montague. 'Tis a pleasure to meet you", she said, smiling, holding out her hand.
"I'm always in the garden or my stillroom, so I've never had time for a whole lot of other things," she admited. It wasn't all medicines or cosmetics either. She was fascinated by mythical and magical lore regarding plants, and had more than a few books on the subject in her special room which she would pour over and sometimes attempt.
The woman introduced herself and held out her hand in a traditional greeting. Serenade reached out and clasped the gloved hand with her own similarly attired hand, though didn't shake it some people did, just that simple bit of pressure. "Sera," she responded, hesitant to give out her full name both because of her wish to be disassociated from music and because she really wasn't fond of her full named being used in everyday casual conversation. It was just way too long!
"I see. As long as one has passion for something, be it one single thing or many, I believe that in itself makes life worth living", she responded with a warm smile. "Y-you may call me Lia if my name seems too long", she added sheepishly as she pulled her hand back. She was glad that this girl had at least been willing to introduce herself as well, regardless of whether it was her full name or simply a nickname Ophelia had just learnt. "Is it appropriate to ask what other plants you grow in this garden? I am afraid I am only able to name a few", she continued then.
Serenade tucked a strand of hair that had gotten loose from the braid behind her ear, looking at Lia for a moment then turning her attention to the garden. "Well, my mom's mostly into flowers so we've got a large variety of those. I've been growing herbs once I was old enough to stake my own beds. We share custody of the lavendar plant. I've got along with the rosemary I've got several mints, some lemon balm, basil, curry, coriander, dill, fennel, thyme... A lot of the spice plants, basicly."
A smile crossed her lips. She was always enthusiastic when it came to her garden, it was her main weakness. "I've been working on a couple others that aren't as widely used, though I have to watch my spacing. Different plants have different water and light needs, and I don't want to crowd them." She suddenly turned and walked down the line of plants, past the rosemary and carefully stepping past it and reaching for another plant that grew behind it. She returned, holding a delicate-looking sprig in her fingertips and offering it to Lia with an enthusiastic smile. "This one is one of my favorites. It's a chocolate mint plant. It actually /smells/ a bit like chocolate underneath the mint smell!"
Jinx: ((Yes, such a plant does exist XD))
Mia Lavinia: ((Ooh, my mom has those.))
Ophelia looked about as Sera spoke, trying to spot the plants she had mentioned. She couldn't recall seeing so many shades of green in one place before. It seemed like each plant had its own unique color, once you looked at them for a while. Little by little, she thought she was able to understand the other girl's love for plants. To some extent, at the very least. Even if it was just a tiny bit, they were coming to understand each other a little, maybe? Lia didn't have many friends, so it would be nice if she and Sera would get along.
She followed the girl's steps with her gaze, trying to see which plant she went for. As Sera returned, she took the little sprig in her hands, inhaling. There -was- a hint of chocolate mixed in the scent! It was the most curious thing. "Wow. It smells amazing", she said, taking another whiff with her eyes closed.
Jinx: ((lol I had some too, but it died on me ;^^ Oh, finally figured Sera's power last night! Full bit is in my journal, but she enhances a plant's natural abilities based on her intention for it as she harvests it. Like since she harvested the mint with the intention of showing Lia how good it smelled, that sprig is going to have a stronger and more lasting scent.))
Serenade nodded, and a smile broke across her face at Lia's obvious enjoyment of the smell. She adored sharing the wonders of plants, the ones from her garden in particular! She imagined the feeling was similar to the ones her family got when they managed to get a particularly high or low note correct, or possible the feeling Lia might get if say a play she was involved in was appreciated. Serenade assumed that was a high for those involved in theater, anyway.
"It tastes excellent when baked into cookies, and as long as you don't use too much it can make a great scent for other things," she said, giving the sprig a fond look.
Mia Lavinia: ((ooh, that's awesome. o uo Lia doesn't really have any special powers outside a great memory. Lol.))
"I would really love to try this in something, some day.. 'tis the first time I have come across this herb, and it really does have a lovely scent to it!" Lia said, keeping the sprig close to her face, looking at Sera with a bright smile. Indeed, there had always been some green plants in her house, and she enjoyed having them, but she had never really thought too much about them. They were just there. Now she was starting to see a different side to them, as well.. it must have been so rewarding to grow your own herbs and spices, and then use them in pretty much whatever you could think of. Store bought spices were never quite the same, after all.
"I would really like to learn more, if you would be so kind as to share more of your knowledge with me", she added after a moment, hoping Serenade didn't think of her as a nuisance.
Serenade brushed another strand of her bright orange hair out of her face. "There's a multitude of things I could teach," she responded. "Just what is it you're interested in learning about?"

During their first meeting in Serenade’s garden, as Serenade runs through some of the most common plants and their well-known uses, she mentions a tea shop that sometimes buys herbs from her to use in their brews. This piques Ophelia’s interest and liking of old-fashioned things. She asks Serenade if she would accompany her to the tea shop and share more information with her. Serenade states that she is no expert on tea itself, but would be happy to go along if that was what Ophelia wanted. They agree to meet up the next day.
Once they meet up Serenade takes Ophelia to the tea shop. They sat and chatted for hours, sampling various tea while Serenade identified the plants used and what uses they had besides tea, plus her own opinions of herbs she would mix to create drinks based on what she thought would taste good together. During that time Serenade finally gets to learn a bit about Ophelia, her liking for old-fashioned things and love of theater, and how she hopes to one day write a play of her own. Finally the pair notice how late they’ve been there. As they walk out of the shop Ophelia invites Serenade to see a play with her, A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Curious, Serenade agrees. Now outside, Ophelia smiles at Serenade’s acceptance and hands her a pink rose that she had brought with her. Surprised at the gift, Serenade automatically spouts out what she knows about the breed of the rose, and how pink is a given to symbolize love. Realizing what she said, Serenade suddenly blushes as pink as the roses. Also a little flustered, Ophelia explains she has an interest in flower meanings as well, and that pink flowers are also given as a symbol of admiration; they were a gift to show how much she appreciated all Serenade was teaching her. Now practically glowing pink, Serenade stammers out her thanks and bolts for home, leaving behind a slightly confused Ophelia who’s just a bit flustered herself.
A week after their meeting at the tea shop, and subsequent awkward/adorable parting, the pair meet up again to go see A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Though it’s not her area of expertise and out of her comfort zone, Serenade finds herself curious after the enthusiasm with which Ophelia showed when asking her to see the play. If asked later Serenade could honestly say she enjoyed the play, though she had to lean over every five minutes to ask Ophelia what was going on and what the heck were the actors saying. The night wasn’t over yet though! As soon as the girls exited the theater, Ophelia surprised Serenade by inviting her out for dinner.
A few days after the play and dinner Ophelia returned to Serenade’s home. Over their last dinner she’d asked Serenade about some of the things she made with her plants, and upon discovering she could make soap and simple cosmetics she eagerly asked if Serenade would teach her. Serenade agreed. Serenade still lived with her family, though slightly separate in a little cottage tucked a few yards back into a stand of trees that bordered the yard, in order to avoid the noise in the house. Her greenhouse and stillroom sat nearby, in full sun at the edge of the tree line. This was Ophelia’s target. She had to take a different path to reach it than she had when she first spotted Serenade in her garden, passing close by the big house where her family lived. The faint sounds of music reached her ears, quiet instrumental music and a clear female voice singing cheerfully. Ophelia wondered if the sounds came from Serenade’s family, and if Serenade herself possessed any musical talent. She found the greenhouse, out of range of the sounds from the out, with Serenade inside tending some of her more delicate plants. After a quick look around Serenade moved them into her workroom, where she began to teach Ophelia the art of making soap. They made simple conversation, during which Ophelia managed to slip in the question of whether Serenade had any music talent, admitting to a love of instrumental pieces when she wrote. Serenade responded saying she wasn’t bad, but she wasn’t good either; her talent lay solely in plants. It was a pleasant day, ending in an invitation from Ophelia that surprised Serenade.
The next day Serenade met Ophelia at the tea shop. They each enjoyed a cup as the weather was starting to turn and was a bit chilly, the perfect day to spend inside with a warm beverage. From there the pair went to Ophelia’s house for the first time. Ophelia wanted to thank Serenade for teaching her so much, and had invited her over for a home-cooked meal and to watch a movie together. They enjoyed a fine meal of linguine with green pesto, garlic and fresh arugula, light and refreshing. After that Ophelia made a tea for them to sip on while watching the movie; she poured black tea in mugs and added honey, lemon juice, grated cinnamon, ground gloved, and grated nutmeg. As she stirred together the ingredients Serenade shyly brought forward a gift, a small bouquet of azalea flowers, and offers them to Ophelia, blushing slightly. Ophelia accepted the flowers with a blush of her own staining her cheeks, trying to cover her flustered moment by searching for a vase to store the flowers and giving herself time to recover and think of her response. As she carefully lowered the blossoms into the glass receptacle Ophelia looked up at Serenade and said that she also hoped she’d be able to look after Serenade as well, causing her to promptly blush yet again and mutter softly to herself in Italian. Serenade, flustered herself from giving her gift and Ophelia’s response, looking for a distraction of her own, inquired about the Italian. That managed to bring the blushes down several notches and the two gathered up their tea and moved to the couch, Ophelia answering her question while she put Sound of Music in the DVD player.
A few days later Ophelia sought Serenade out at her workshop. One of the soap recipes she’d taught her wasn’t firming up properly, and she wasn’t sure why. As Ophelia walked up the path to the greenhouse, her musings were suddenly cut short by the sound of a very irritated female voice shouting and a high child voice laughing in response. Ophelia finally came within sight of the greenhouse to see Serenade walking around and peering around like she was hunting for something. Apparently her little nephew thought it would be fun to pester his aunt, and was hiding after making a mess with the herbs in her workroom. Ophelia offered to help her catch the miscreant, and together they finally caught him; Ophelia spotted him lurking in the rafters in Serenade’s workroom, well-hidden and given away only because of the slight glowing of his horns and feet. Serenade finally ejected her unrepentant and highly amused nephew from the building with orders to go bother his cousin, and the pair finally got to sit down and discuss the problem that had brought Ophelia to her door.
[2/7/2013 8:01:49 PM] Jinx: So after the whole debackle with Rakesh-as-a-kit, wanna add anything else or think that'll be a good point to put in Romeo and Juliet? [2/7/2013 8:03:50 PM] Mia Lavinia: Hm, maybe one more sort-of-plain meeting where Lia could invite Sera over again and perhaps show her some of her own writings :'3 She's not too confident yet but aspires to become a famous playwright some day [2/7/2013 8:05:28 PM] Jinx: Since Sera's not as familiar with plays and what counts as "good" or not by the standards of fodder for plays and such, she'll probably like the stuff Lia has wrote and think it's really great. And she'll believe that too, not saying she'll think that just to be nice. She'll probably ask Lia to act some parts of it out. [2/7/2013 8:06:10 PM] Mia Lavinia: that could also be amusing, with Lia trying to imitate different voices to differentiate characters xD [2/7/2013 8:06:34 PM] Mia Lavinia: it'll give her a small boost at least - make her want to get even better biggrin [2/7/2013 8:06:51 PM] Jinx: Indeed : ) [2/7/2013 8:07:20 PM] Jinx: XD I think we've laid down a pretty good foundation [2/7/2013 8:07:24 PM] Mia Lavinia: yes xD [2/7/2013 8:07:43 PM] Mia Lavinia: and I'd say all of it came out relatively easy o uo [2/7/2013 8:07:47 PM] Mia Lavinia: which is goood. [2/7/2013 8:07:49 PM] Jinx: *is gonna do a summary of this whenever she gets to their part of the log, probably gonna toss it at you to confirm read*
Serenade: -Glides out into the thread, looking around grumpily and only stepping away from her garden because her human promised Lia would be here.-
Ophelia: -sitting at the counter, sipping a cup of tea. She didn't come to the shop that often anymore, what with the family being broken and all.. but sometimes she did it for nostalgia's sake. Luckily she now spotted a familiar face, which made her rise from her chair- "Serenade! What a pleasure to see you here! I was not expecting this at all. Would you care to join me?" -she smiles warmly at the other female-
Serenade: -She smiled when she spotted the other female. It was a small smile, but it transformed her face from grumpy to gentle and caring. She smoothed her fur down from its ruffled flight state and approached.- Of course, I'd be quite happy to join you. -There was warmth in her voice for Lia that was rarely there for anyone.-
Ophelia: -Tucking a few stray locks behind her ear, she walked up to Serenade. Luckily for her, she always asked for two cups when ordering tea.. just in case something like this would occur. She gently took Serenade's hand to lead her dear friend back to her seat, then grabbed the unused cup from the tray and poured some tea into it from the pot- "Should you fancy sugar or milk, I would be glad to retrieve those for you." -she kept smiling softly, something one didn't see so much from her these days. She tried hard for her father's sake, but aside from Serenade and theatre there was very little joy in Lia's life.- "I have not seen you in some time.. how is your garden? Have you decided to plant anything new?"
Serenade: -She sat and accepted the cup from Ophelia with a murmer of thanks, taking a careful sip of the hot liquid. She rarely used sugar or cream with her tea, preferring the plain taste of the herbs without sweetness. Winter or chilly days were usually the only time she relented from that.- I've been fine. -She pursed her lips.- Someone tracked through my garden and from the size of the prints I'd say it was my nephew, except he knows better. -She took another sip and looked over the rim of her cup, examining the woman in front of her.- How have you been? -She noted the lines of sorrow etched into Lia's face with a bit of worry.-
Ophelia: "Oh no! They did not ruin any of your herbs, did they? I hope we can identify the culprit so they can be properly disciplined." -she nodded sternly, since she held Serenade's gardening skills and herbs in very high regard. Taking another sip from her cup, she suddenly noticed.. worry? on Sera's face, causing her to grow flustered and fumble somewhat as she set her cup back down- "O-oh, I.. I have been fine. I have been a little busy trying to keep my father functioning.. he is feeling very depressed. It does wear on me, as well.." -she smiles, trying to dismiss her sadness-
Serenade: -The look she gave Lia over her cup was skeptical; she never had been one for delicacy and tact where emotions were involved, preferring the "charge and take no prisoners" method, but she was trying not to be so....horribly blunt as she usually was. With Lia, anyway. Everyone else she still ran rough-shod over as per her norm.- They didn't ruin anything. Flattened, perhaps, but it'll spring back. I plan to sit down with my nephew and have a chat with him, since if he didn't do it I'm fairly certain he would know who did. -She set her cup down on the table and steepled her fingers, resting her chin on top of them as she surveyed Lia with her bright blue eyes.- I would make something for your father, if I thought it would help him in the long run. -Her expression was unreadable, but you could see the thoughts moving behind her eyes. A twinge of genuine concern crossed her face as she looked Lia over again.- I just wish there was something more I could do to help you.
Ophelia: -she nodded at Serenade's words. What a relief that the herbs weren't ruined!- "If only mother had not.." -she immediately fell silent, sighing. She took another sip of her tea, then straightened up slightly in her seat.- "I.. wish there was someone who could comfort father. 'Tis not my duty, e'en as his daughter. He desperately needs companionship from a peer, I should think. I truly appreciate thine concern, dear Serenade." -she gently touches Sera's hand, giving her another faint smile.- "Thou -- you.. you have done so much for me. Your companionship is truly a treasure to me."
Serenade: -A corner of her mouth tilted up in her signature wry smile.- Dunno that I know anyone I'd think of as a peer who could help your dad. It might be good for him to have something or someone to look after though. Helping another heal can be quite good for the soul. -She hesitated, then reached out and lightly caressed Lia's cheek.- I know you've been doing your best by him, but you're going through enough holding yourself together. Neither of you will really heal, at this rate.
Ophelia: -she blushed slightly from the gesture, caught off guard, but didn't pull away.- "Perhaps I should attempt to bring father out to socialize. From what I am able to recall he used to be rather friendly towards others.. now he has become a recluse, and as you have said I am afraid 'tis not good for either one of us."
Serenade: -She nodded.- It might help. Also might do him good to get a friend. Someone who seems like they need looking after but are secretly the ones looking after him, I'd think might help best. Gets his mind off things without adding more of a burden to his shoulders, ya know? -She smiled at Lia.- Whereas you I think I can sufficently distract.
Ophelia: -she nodded quietly in agreement, happy to know Sera understood her plight to at least some degree.- "I believe that would be very good for father. Perhaps I should persuade him to accompany me here, next time.." -she refilled both their cups, blushing slightly at Sera's last remark.- "I.. do agree with thy statement. I truly have had the most wonderful time with you. I am forever grateful for everything. 'Twas a truly serendipitous impulse that I decided to strike up conversation with you that day." -she smiled at Serenade with genuine warmth in her eyes-
Serenade: -Her mouth quirked into another smile.- I'd say it was more impressive that you stuck around. Plenty of people impulsively try to chat me up. My nephew likes to joke about the conversations, if you could call them that, afterwards. -Good thing for Sho she was actually fond of him and his dry wit. It was similar to her own and sometimes it was fun to banter back and forth with him. Her thoughts tugged her along and pulled her down various paths as she picked up her cup and took another sip. As the herbal smell struck her nose she remembered something.- When do you think you'll stop by my workshop next? I've been experimenting with herb mixtures, and need someone with good taste to tell if if I made anything worthy of being called tea. -Her smile was warm and a little self-embarassed.- You're the only one I could think of who met that criteria.
