True, Maple'd hit her really hard in the Tower, but Judgement knew that all kinds of strange things were going on in there. Why should she hold a grudge against one of her own? But if it'd even them up... Amarus, grinning, approached Maple and reached to bop her very gently on the top of the head.

"There. We're even, right? So come play! Just pick a track and race with us!" Amarus turned to look at Zel, who'd finished his run-- he had performed only slightly worse than her, but she acted as though he'd fallen flat on his face!

"Justice, what was up with that! Did you forget how to, you know, move?" she teased, then ran up to anotehr set of stairs, laughing madly again. "Maple, just like this! Grab your piece of armour or shield, and take flight!"

Not only was she kind of slow, the stairs must have started to addle her perception, and she only made it down in mediocre fashion. "So... Ah... Like that, only better," she amended. "...if it can be done."

Scoffing at Judgement's teasing Justice picked his shield back up and headed up the stairs. "HAH, I'm just off my game from the tower! I will adjust!" He grinned and set back up as he reached the top of a longer stairwell this time.

Dropping the shield he hopped on and kicked off, looking to Maple as he started to slide.

"YES! GRAB ONE AND JOIN IN!"

And because he wasn't paying attention to his board, it shot out from under him and he slid all the way down the stairs on his face, doing a forward somersault as he hit the ground. "OOFPH OW GAH SON OF A..."

Rolling to a stop, he lay there for a minute or two, before finally standing up and brushing himself off. "Well... That went poorly."

The shadow, Sun's smile warmed Arynek' s frozen heart for a bit. Really like her name suggested, as warm was the sun. She let the Shadow to drag her towards where ever she was going, a sign of trust. Arynek nodded at Sun's suggestion, she'd loved to see more.

Stair Racing?

When she heard of the term, she tilted he head and looked at Sun, waiting for an explanation from her.

When Amarus' hand came at her, she instinctively closed her eyes and waited for a more powerful hit. Her shoulders went tight and she grimaced. But, it was nothing painful at all. Playful really, in almost an affectionate way. Maple opened her eyes and smiled. "O-okay," she replied relieved and nodded. Even Justice approved, it made her happy.

She watched the pink accented Shadow descend down a flight of stairs. Armor of a shield. ... She didn't have really either of those, her shoulders slumped at the realization. Why hadn't she grabbed anything? Her red eyes looked around the area, seeing if there anything discarded for her to use.

Well, there was something. She wasn't sure what it was but it was simple and metal, perhaps about to be made into something? Something the Shades had dropped? Either way, it looked decent enough to use and use it she would. Maple climbed a flight of stairs - one of the easier looking sets - positioned herself on the top and went down. And was totally scared doing it.

And she totally sucked at this too, nearly falling off her.. whatever it was. "aaah!"

Mar couldn't help but snort as she watched Zel faceplant his way down, and then Maple do almost as terribly, but not quite! It seemed like they had a long way to go. Only Mar had totally seen Zel do much better than this, which was why she just kept laughing at him, shaking her head.

She walked up to Maple, and handed her the breastplate. "You're probably about my size, give it a try with this instead," she suggested, with a wink.

Amarus went to sit on the foot of one of the unused coliseum staircases, and watched them. "There is no glory should you perish in stair racing, dear Justice! But I will give the Fields of Battle your regards," she teased, additionally. Looks like if she wasn't being kept busy, she was kind of a d**k.

Sun nodded, her smile turning mischievous. She'd gotten her attention, for sure.

"Follow and see!" she invited, leading Ary through the streets to the base of the Tower. She paused now and then to point out some quirk in the landscape, speaking with obvious delight.

"What I love best about my home is that you never walk in the same City twice." she said as they finally reached their destination, and climbed the long set of stairs to the Supply Room.

Sun opened to door on a treasure trove of Shadow Armor, and weapons, and waved Ary inside.

"If you could wait a moment, I need to check in with my leige." she said, tone reassuring. Sun dashed into the throne room, and knelt at her King's feet, ignoring the steady aches she'd earned from the Tower.

"My King, I'm here to report." she began, and told her own story of traversing up the Tower, and what had been revealed beneath it, confirming the others' reports.

"Also, my King. There's a matter that needs your attention at the Supply Room." she finished, her smile deepening.

Justice laughed and wiped his face with his hand. Tossing the shield aside for a moment, he moved over to Judgement and sat down poking her in the side as he did so. "PAH," he grunted, grinning at her. "Like I said, I'm just off my game from that damn tower. I will be back to my old self soon, you'll see!"

Resting his head against the wall as he sat next to her he chuckled a bit to himself. "We both know that is our fate - to die next to the other on the battlefield."

He lifted his head and turned to look at her. "Judgement and Justice, Team Retribution - together there is no foe we can't beat - It will always be the greatest honor to fight by your side."

Reaching over her shoulders, he pulled her into a one-armed hug for a moment before letting go.

"Besides, I ALMOST had you on that first run..."

As they walked through the street, Arynek's eyes rolled left and right frequently. Everything was so new to her, and she really needed some distractions so she let herself indulged into the happy moments Sun brought her.

The supply room. It was full of armors, with jewels on them, mainly the obsidians. She glared at them, but didn't forgot to give Sun a big nod as an answer. Leige?

She tilted her head as Sun left the room, paying her attention back to the lovely jewels.

Maple looked over the object Amarus had handed to her, turning it this way and that in her hands. Wait, was this a ... breastplate? Had the other female Shadow been using this the entire time? But, what about the lumpy parts? The Small Shadow gave the other a quizzical look before taking it up a flight of stairs to test it out.

She positioned herself awkwardly on it the piece of armor ... and tried it out.

Nope. Still terrible. Maple found herself nearly flying off once again when she sliding down. Well, actually near the end, as she got to the bottom of the stairs, she just kind of fell over on her side. "Ow..."

"Strange," he mused at Uru's story. The blue of his eyes burned a little brighter in curiosity. "I wonder what this legacy was doing in the hands of the Silver King.?"

"Very clever. You have a strategic mind, Wandering Shadow. I have not heard of any staff belonging to the Great King." Aymet watched a flower crumble to ash in his fingers. His gaze flickered upward toward the window overlooking his kingdom, all dark stone and rotting bone. "But should anyone think to come looking for it here, we are guarded well. The terrain is uneven and difficult, and the landscape changes with a thought. And no kingdom has an army more formidable, and more suited to such a place."

His Paladin appeared, grabbing his attention immediately.

"Rise, my Penumbral Paladin." Aymet had grown fond of her enthusiasm. But no matter how many times they explained the situation at the tower, he saw little value in the knowledge - far more in the miasma they brought back. "The tower held many mysteries, but nothing advantageous. Our concern is not with the past, but the future. Our future."

He gave a half-smile, possibly the most sincere expression any outsider had ever seen before.

"Until next time, I'm afraid," he excused himself from Uru. "There is a dire emergency I must attend to."

Sun proceeded the King back to the Supply Room, and beckoned Ary over.

"My King, it has come to my attention that there is a new Coliseum at the base of the Tower. One that has yet to see Kingly talent. Ary! Are you still interested in finding out what stair racing is? Please watch!"

If Suns' grin grew any larger, it would swallow her face. She picked up a large shield, walked to the edge of the stairs, placed the shield down on the edge of it, stood on it, bowed to both her King and Ary, and pushed off...

While it wasn't a repeat of her first performance, it was still a wild ride as Sun laughed all the way down the stairs and into the Coliseum.

Arynek didn't know anyone here, so the best way was to follow Sun, like a little tail. Sun entered the room with another shadow, probably it's the King. She made a few steps backwards and walked towards Sun's side. Arynek followed Sun, who picked up a rather big shield to the edges of stairs and then-

-slided down the stairs by sailing on the shield and disappeared?!

What should she do?

She eyed on the King, hoping he would give an answer. There was silence......

Without realizing she was doing it, Mar leaned into Justice's hug, and silently smiled, watching Maple attempt racing again. She stayed like that, and before moving, finally said: "You can't die, because I am never going to die, and we're not getting separated again. That's it! And that's all."

Amarus clapped wildly for Sun, getting to her feet: "Our current champion has returned!" she called out, cheering.

Being with everyone right now repaired a broken bit of Amarus that she would never realize had been broken in the first place.

Wait, was it true their King would attempt their sport?

Aezeloth stood after Judgement did and clapped along with her. "GOOD SHOW!" He called out to sun with a laugh. "Still a master!"

He was glad they were able to enjoy themselves after such a rough time in the tower, and all the other events that had been going on. With any luck they could keep this up.

He shot a wry grin to Judgement and remembered her words. She was right - they would never be separated again - anyone who tried would find themselves being flayed with his chain.

"You do look like the sort who has some muscle on him." The Dread Cleric laughed, one hand cupping smoothly underneath her chin to offer her head a perch. "I can't wait to see how you handle yourself in battle." That was true, at least.

Her smile became something more sly, and she was about to answer when golden eyes flared wide, and Nevena froze. Five seconds would pass until she inhaled sharply, suddenly back in the present.

Her thoughts spun, tipsy-turvey and out of control, and the Hierophant stood up so suddenly that her chair clattered to the floor. Jericho earned himself a hard, almost disbelieving stare, and then she was taking quick, measured strides away from the Shadow. Golden eyes darted to and fro, searching desperately--and came to a halt as they fixed upon the one she was looking for. The Queen.

Amrita's arm was snatched, her claws sinking in even as Nevena hauled her off into a direction away from everyone else. Her eyes were wild, practically burning as she fixed a stare upon the girl's face.

"Was it real?" She demanded in a voice like ice, twisting the Queen's wrist in an attempt to see if she, too, bore the silver mark.
