"Nope. Not even for an instant. Not even if someone bribed me with all the things and money I could ever want," he smiled a bit. "You're stuck with me Freya, absolutely stuck."
"Forever." He intoned trying to sound ominous.
There were only a handful of things that could make Kettil walk out on Freya but he cared not to ponder them.

Forever.
Kettil's joke made her grin like a fool for a moment, but then, she was reminded of something he'd said earlier, and her blush crept up her cheeks, while her grin faded away. She pressed her face against his neck harder just to hide it.
She was trying, very hard, not to set her heart on that possibility.

Her grin was mirrored by his at least up until she started hiding her face away, then the look on his face was replaced by confusion, "Something on your mind?"

..Would she EVER, EVER get away with anything, around him? She tilted her head up, blush still completely coloring her face, and stuck her tongue out at him. She wasn't going to try and convince him there was nothing on her mind, because he would call her on it, and she knew better by now. So instead, she teased him.
"Yet, hah?"

Kettil was about to ask what she meant by that but then the memory flooded back into his head and he blushed as well. He shifted a little but not uncomfortably, "W..Well yeah. I mean...One day, right?"
Kettil was smooth.
"I just um...I think..about it sometimes lately-ish? I just figured it might ... scare ya off?" Kettil was now very nervous.

Blushing, awkward, nervous; this was, perhaps, Freya's favorite version of Kettil. No, she relented that thought - there were so many favorites. She couldn't pick just one. Still, she loved when he was at a loss like this, and she pressed her nose against his, rubbing it fondly while she grinned like a cheshire cat.
"Why are yeh thinkings about something like that already, screechie?" She whispered softly. "We've only been together for, ach-" She thought about it and realized that the amount of time they'd been dating was shockingly small compared to how they felt about each other. It shut her up with surprise.
Even the mention of marriage should have scared her, just as he'd feared. She would have had every right to be scared. But all it had done was make her heart pulse with warmth and make her smile. She supposed marriage just wasn't one of those things that scared her.
"Yeh gots nothings teh worry about, though. Did yeh knows, in my family? I was supposed teh be married two years ago. I'm an old crone! I should goes back downstairs and crochet something with gramama."

He brushed noses with her in return affectionately and he was still blushing simply because of the way she was grinning at him. There were very few that had this affect on him and Freya was one of those few. She did it with no effort it seemed and it was almost unfair.
Just like it was unfair that he could never be angry with her for long.
Kettil remained silent as she spoke both times and smiled a little. Despite her interrupting her earlier thought he answered her question, "I dunno. I mean is not like we would ever have t'get married, I guess. I think we'd be strong enough to stay together without havin' a piece of paper and a ceremony to show that we love each other enough to stay it out." There was a small thoughtful pause after this.
He sort of reached up and brushed a hand along her jaw, "You're no crone, you were just waitin' for me to come along," he teased lightly with a scrunch of his nose. "I just...I dunno. The thought of marryin' you makes me happy and excited. Like it's supposed t'happen? Maybe I'm just a silly boil wantin' t'lock ya to me forever."

This was a terrible conversation. Such a terrible conversation. They were silly, terrible children, for enjoying it so much.
She giggled and leaned into his touch, her tongue bit between her teeth. "Yehr not silly. Yehr just thinkings too hard. I'm supposed teh be the marriage crazed one, here, not yeh!" She couldn't help it. When he told her that the thought of marrying her excited him, she felt that flutter of glee in her heart that any ghoul would upon hearing those words from the person they loved as strongly as she loved him. He was a boil, he was supposed to discourage marriage. What a cheater!
"Actually, yehr wrong. Eventually, one day, when we're ready," She rolled her eyes at the thought, "That piece of paper would be the only thing teh stands in the way of my father exploding in a fit of rage." Yes, papa definitely wanted his little ghoul married off. He wanted it years ago, in fact, but she was a stubborn little thing. "The only thing that is saving me now, is that my twin sister, she doesn't even has a steady boilfriend! So he's too busy bothering her."
She laughed at the fate of her poor sister, back at home, dealing with the constant bothers. "She told me recently she was goings teh runs away if he didn't stop. I cannit blame her!"

Mention of her father made him pause a moment. Would he seriously have the power to take Freya away from him? Would Freya let her Father do this? Talk about thinking too hard.
Kettil brushed the thought under a rug presuming it would never come to pass because he simply didn't plan on letting it get to that point. "Ya well, I am thinkin' that maybe I'd like to marry ya if'n your dad is agreeable to the idea."
Though something in his eyes told her that it didn't matter if the Father was agreeable, he'd simply steal her away and elope with her. Angry fathers be damned. "Ah your poor sister. Havin' to suffer while you're safe away with me at school and now here," he teased softly with a chuckle.

He just kept talking about marrying her and making her blush and feel funny and stahp Kettil stahp. She ducked her head, keeping it in the crook of his neck to hide from his gaze, and snorted at the mere idea of her sister being anything deserving of pity. "Ach, don't yeh feels bad for her. She chooses teh stays home because we're gone now, and she gets the picks of the litter of boils. If papa thinks that ghoul is ever getting married, he'd be in fore a sore surprise teh knows just how many notches she's got on her bed."
Yes, Freya's dear twin was the very definition of the word loose. Still charming, and sweet, but simply refusing to let any one boil steal her heart - the ghoul was too wild and free for something like marriage. Freya's father had his hands full, and she was glad for it - she and Hel were mostly ignored.
"She was so glad when I tolds her I was following Hel teh Amity." Freya pouted lightly. "Yeh'd think she'd have missed me a little more than that!"

Kettil smiled lightly as he listened to her talk about her sibling and shifted a shoulder, "I find it amazing that she seems so different from you," he remarked idly as he just let her hide her face this time because he knew what was wrong it was obvious by the way she was acting and the subject matter they were on.
"You would think but...I'm glad you came to Amity, I think I tell ya that every chance I get now a day," he laughed a little.
There was a quiet pause in his speaking until his voice picked up again, "...Would you want to marry me?"

Kettil was just going to make her dissipate right there in his arms. She stayed in the crook of his neck for a few silent seconds before finally sucking in a very sharp breath.
"Yeh'd make a fine husband." She hedged. "If yeh ever thought teh asks me, I would be a lucky ghoul."

Freya's poor little heart fluttered like a hummingbirds and threatened to explode out of her chest. She picked her head up slowly, her eyes wide as she stared at him in dubious disbelief.
"Whatchyeh means yehr askings me? Watch what yeh says, Hooter, yehr goings teh give a ghoul the wrong idea." Her voice was shaking, breathless, quiet. She was just a little scared of the moment. And here she'd thought she was so fearless..

"Have I ever asked or told you anything I don't mean? Have I ever taken back any words I have told you?" Kettil asked simply with an eyebrow raised a bit. It was a proposal of sorts. He wasn't going to just run off with her to an altar and wed her a few seconds after she said yes.
Kettil drew in a deep breath, "Here. Let me be more blunt about it. Freyr Byrnhildr, will you marry me?"
This went from a hypothetical question to just a straight out proposal.
