Rep eyed Wilson as if there was something he was missing, he didn't look cocky in the least. It was hard to keep a straight face, instead he snuck over and slunk an arm around Harrison, giving him a grin. He didn't care if it was unjustified, it was hilarious. "Oh aye." he purred. "A real cocky b*****d like.. with his.. like..." he waved a hand vaguely. "Eyes and stuff man."

Jerry beamed brightly as Harrison gave him the go-ahead, attention turning back to Otto with an equally enthusiastic expression, "You go get a drum, I'll get the rest!! Nothing says New Years like a good live concert, right??" He was already humming, not waiting for an answer as he drained the rest of his drink and hurried toward the door... "Melvin!! Rin!" He spotted the two hovering outside, "Could you give me a hand with the piano??"

Rin wrinkled her nose just a bit with a somewhat forced smile, "Seem pretty out of it man. I thought you passed out for a second there." The look on her face relaxed as she eyed where the phone had vanished, "Are you okay?"

Then suddenly there was a Jerry and she just gave him the most deadpan stare. A hand? She's heard that one a few too many times at this point, "Maybe if you want it to kiss the floor Jerry... in case you haven't noticed, I'm not exactly... level... anymore."
PostPosted: Wed Jan 02, 2013 6:40 pm

He looked at her a moment, his head swirling and warm from whiskey, and still felt the weight of the dead phone in his pocket. "No. I was just...thinking." He looked at his empty glass a moment, conflicted, before looking back at Rin. "Do - "

And then Jerry popped out of the room, the noises and sounds from the door flooding the hallway, and asked them both for a hand with a piano.

Closing his mouth, he looked at the hunter, very confused and wondering if he really was super drunk. A piano?

When Rin took offense, he felt another argument on the horizon. Touching the wall, he heaved himself up. "I'll help." He said. "Rin, can you guard my bottle. I don't want anyone drinking from it." He then heard some glass shatter. "Or breaking it." It was expensive whiskey.

"Come on, Jerry. Uh...you said a piano?"

He tried to smile pleasantly when Harrison smiled back, but it only turned into a forced grin. The grin dropped immediately as soon as Wilson turned away, but he could still feel the other hunter’s gaze boring into him. He swallowed his impatience and sighed before taking another sip of his drink. Lips twisted into a small yet agitated frown, Wilson half-nodded to Madeline. “Mads. Tell me what Harrison is doing.” He angled his head slightly in the moon hunter’s direction. Another sigh. “But something tells me he must be talking about me.” Paranoia suddenly seized him.

“Maybe it’s better if I just go back to my dorm,” he grumbled as he tried to sneak another glance at Harrison.

Jerry blinked at Rin in confusion for a moment before looking down and then back up again with a bright red face. "I... oh ah... I d-d-didn't mean- it's not a BIG piano b-but... someone to get the door would... ahhh... n-nevermind!" He squeaked before hurrying off. If they still wanted to help they could follow.

Ami let go of Madeline's ear, but only because Lex was protesting and Otto was looking at her like ... well like she was a wet rag. Which, she was.

Sighing , she shrugged herself AWAY from Madeline, leaning closer to Otto and Lex. "I just ... she's going to embarrass herself completely. She's going to wake up naked in the common area and I'm going to have to dole out of her bail." Ami just sort of watched as she proceeded to get into a "commandeer" argument with Marcus, with a hand over her eyes as she shook her head. Ami's eyes moved to Wilson, only to find him glaring at Harrison, and then talking with Madeline about Harrison.

Her head tilted. Wilson was always kind. Why he would give someone that sort of look ... Looking back to Wilson, she said, "Ah, Wilson ... are you okay?" A concerned look to Lex, as he was the one who dealt with the medical part of life, not her. A light touch to Wilson's arm. "You look a bit ... out of it ..." It'd been about 3 minutes. She shot a look to Marcus. Yes, she was counting too.

Oh no... Noooonononoo. Before he could protest, Jerry was off to find a piano. "B-but.. I didn't say..." Otto deflated. He didn't want to sit there and play hokey old people music with Jerry. Otto was not a Koombayah type of guy. Maybe he'd need to down a drink or two just to be on Jerry's level of dopey.

Ugh.. no.. there were few people he'd let himself get that giddy around, and a room with ten or more gathered wasn't ideal.

Maybe Jerry would forget about it if he hid.. behind.. someone...

"I'm tipsy." Madeline corrected with the over exaggerated tone of a parent telling its child how to pronounce a word for the billionth time. She waggled her fingers at him with a sly grin. "Now if there was a shot glass around here and a bottle of tequila, I might manage to throw myself over the edge. And I could beat you at chess, sober or no."

She wasn't quite aware yet, but she had switched to Spanish part way through, and unless Wilson spoke the language, he'd probably understood nothing past the part where she'd been talking shot glasses and tequila.

Somewhere, Jerry was setting up a thing for live music, and Madeline lifted her hand to volunteer, but it acted like a noodle and forced her to consider the possibility that playing anything of a musical variety right now might not end well. She could probably dance; she'd once managed to learn how to river dance drunk, so it stood to reason -

"Que?" Madeline lifted her head when Wilson asked her what some guy was doing. "Who's Harrison?" She answered her own question within a few seconds with, "oh that one! He looks grumpy - " She seemed to have an entire conversation with herself in varying tones of spanish, greek, and latin before slipping her arm off of Ami and grasping Wilsons hands instead. She swung them absently, watching the guy - Harrison - babble to the redhead who looked like some rugged, savage turned Abercrombie model.

"He's talking right now. Why, did you want him to do handstands? I could ask if he wants to do handstands. Maybe we can make a game out of how many shots he can take while doing - " Madeline lost her concentration and the words fell into a garble in her mouth. Clearing her throat, she reached forward and leaned her chin on Wilson's shoulder, staring at Harrison and Rep with mild interest. "I think one of them just said cocky. Or c**k." She frowned. "My mouth-reading abilities have long since deteriorated. Actually they fail to exist in any practical context." She trailed off with, "perhaps they are planning to sodomize each other."

She drew back to glance at Wilson, sobering slightly. "No, you can't leave!" She drew out her lower lip, managing to somehow play sexy and childish at the same time. "Here," She twirled around him, grabbed a slim bottle from the table and thrust it into his hands. Vodka. "Drink up me hearties, yo ho. And if you need to, I can always punch someone. Or set you up with someone else to sodomize - I know how competitions between men get." She stared up at Gale with a critical eye. "You might do." She added as an afterthought.

Her eyes turned to Ami, and she sobered even more. Or tried to. "I will not." Yeah, Ami, she heard you. "Just because I'm a little - alright, moderately - off my high rocker does not mean my bra is going to smack into the nearest person's face spontaneously. I have a fair amount of - " She searched for the right word because dignity didn't seem to work right, "self-sufficiency not to spread my legs in drunken lust." She raised a finger and gestured at Ami with a wry little grin. "I know how to have a little fun, if not of a bit dangerous and definitely wayward kind. It's not a crime to not sound intelligent all the time."

She then saluted Otto the way one would salute a drowning sailor.

Hail and ********' farewell, bro.

When he smiled at Ami, it didn’t quite reach his eyes. “I’m fine.”

Then Wilson turned to stare at Mads with an unimpressed look. “Sober or no?” He could only raise a questioning eyebrow at the woman as she began to babble in Spanish. It was unfortunate he chose to learn French in high school. A bit of Spanish would have done him some good, but then again, the death hunter guessed he hadn’t missed much. Both brows were now raised as Mads attempted to lift her arm.

He was very sure he hadn’t missed much.

“You are absolutely out of it…” His voice trailed off as he shook his head slowly, but his face was devoid of the usual motherly worry that tended to plague him during times like these. Another casual swig of his champagne before another look toward Mads. “No.” Then he grimaced because both cocky and c**k were absolutely plausible. Christ. “As long as it doesn’t involve me they can sodomize each other all they want,” he mumbled. He would have run a hand through his hair, but Mads only thrust a bottle into his free hand. Wilson stared at it quizzically before carefully putting it away. “No.”

His face paled as the sun trainee notably stared at the death hunter clinging to his back and he wheezed out another firm “No.” Torn between leaving and sitting here and glaring at Harrison, Wilson did what he could only do.

He gently set down Gale and then walked over to the nearest wall to bang his head against because somewhere along the line he had lost the ability to can.

Rin's mood soured as Melvin was caught off from something that sounded pretty damn important. The mood soured even further when she was told to guard his bottle. Fine. But she wasn't going to like it one bit.

She watched Jerry's feeble attempt at explaining himself, but she kept a bitter critical look on her face. Yep Jerry, that might not cut it. Not right now. She was going to stay behind and cool off.

Madeline made her first intelligent statement of the night.

"I think theres something wrong with Wilson." She glanced over at Ami and Lex, her bubbly tone diminishing into a tiny spent flame and her mood suddenly going south. "Everything around here is so ******** depressing. I'm gonna - "

She paused deliberately, thinking about her next course of action.

"I'm gonna read."

And she did just that. She walked out of the room, and arrived a few minutes later with a bottle of red wine and a thick book that looked as though it had seen its way through war and back. She sat down by Wilson - who's head banging was looked at with sheer tipsy pity - and then she opened the book with a puff of dust and buried her nose into it so deep that it she looked like little more than a child who was waiting for the world to disappear.

Gale pointed a finger at Lex.

"Yes," he said. "Yes, I remember. You woke up with the other one...er, Solia, yes, that's her name."

Madeline staggering over to them did, in fact, give Gale quite an unintended eyeful, though it was less scandalous and more exasperating, Gale giving her a dry look, resting his chin against Wilson's shoulders.

"You look completely sloshed," he said, but the look on Wilson's face - from what little he could see of it - wasn't cheerful. In fact, there was an odd sort of tension to it, as though he were irritated about something, as though he were on edge. Gale followed his gaze towards the motley group of three and frowned a little, almost missing what Madeline had said next.

His expression turned from a calm one to a glower.

"Thanks, but no," he said, snapping out of what had once been a pleasant sort of buzz. He slid obediently down from Wilson's back and stepped towards the refreshments table. He came back a moment later with a cup of water.

"Drink," he said, thrusting it into Maddie's hand. "You're going to get a headache if you don't get hydrated."

Madeline peered up at Gale with a speculative sort of curiosity. The cup of water was somehow ignored for a long moment.

"I might be." She said after a moment, referring to their earlier conversation. "First time since I've been here. Bad idea - nasty business though, who knew getting drunk was such a hard thing to accomplish?" She rolled her shoulders her boots tapping against the floor.

"Try not to judge me too hard though, even though that in itself is a stupidly useless request considering how I look." She added as an afterthought, taking the water and downing it in a single go. "I'm generally more impervious to the idea of getting wasted. Tonight - " She glanced at Wilson banging his head, and Ami and Lex, and the guy Wilson was showing hostility towards, "just sucks."

The water seemed to make her a bit calmer, her shoulders rolling back beneath the white of her dress. "Thanks."

Jerry had hurried all the way to the dorms and upstairs to the full hunter rooms, fumbling with his keys and immediately poured inside to start collecting his guitar, slinging it over his back, stuffed his pockets with some of the maracas Deryk had given him, and tucked his ukulele under his arm before facing the keyboard on it's stand. His leg was still aching, but well enough for the light load... he wasn't sure if he had been followed or not, but an extra set of hands would really come in handy...

Watch out, New Years... they were going to rock it.

After a thought, he stuffed his runic harmonica into his pocket as well... just in case.
