Marius nodded. "I see. And I didn't mean to sound angry about it not having a cage, only that I don't wish to see any messes in the house, or anything chewed to pieces."
Marius finished his meal and drink, and stood up. "If you'd like, you should go meet the Jaeger twins. They are quite something, and rather lovely too. I think they will keep up a good atmosphere around here. It should be rather delightful. Anyway, I'm going to go relax awhile before the show." Marius placed a gentle kiss on Gracelyn's forehead and cupped the small creature and placed it on the table in front of his housemate.

 Rose Byrne Rose was startled when the twins appeared on either side of her. She didn't quite like strange people being so near her. Her tears kept falling and she wrapped her arms around herself, looking down even more. Suddenly the twins began talking back and forth, which overwhelmed her somewhat.
Rose flinched softly at the mention of a cage. She hated even hearing the word. Cages were the reason she was unwilling to leave and be sold back to the slavers in the markets. She took a deep shaky breath and wiped her tears away, fighting back the worst of her memories. "I am Rose..." she said softly, still not looking up.

 A light blush crossed the top of her nose at the feeling of his lips against her forehead. Her muscles relaxed at his words, she was foolish to assume he would strike her. His smell overpowered the scarf, even this small gesture- the warmth of him- tears welled in her eyes. She quietly wished there was more to it... even if just a long embrace. She closed her eyes, no- no she shouldn't have feelings like that. She was only a slave, a servant, a tool to be bent to his will. And yet. She laced her hand before her, he hadn't been this close to her since... since that night. Maybe it was loneliness she felt. It was a foolish fantasy... but it was a nice one. She couldn't stop herself, the brave words were timid- almost a misplaced breath, " I wish to spend my time with you, Sir." Cutie chirped, jumping around on the table and to the edge of the plate. After licking at some of the sauce, Cutie began to groom. The twins looked to one another. My this one wasn't settling in at all. Or perhaps their new master was very heavy handed. Oh dear. Jaegar and Jaeger were both very gentle in their next action. They each produced a handkerchief and wiped each side of her face. Removing the tears with delicate touch, both of their faces holding gentle smiles. They spoke in perfect unison, "Come now, Rose- there must be a beautiful smile in there somewhere. Don't cry- it's never as bad as it seems. Sometimes we are hurt, or afraid, or uncertain but you should not bottle it up. You should lean on your fellows, because we will always understand. We may be new, but we're happy to listen."

Rose Byrne Rose let the twins wipe her tears away with their handkerchiefs. The touch was gentle and calmed her a little. Sniffling, she looked up at them. "They are odd.... But at least they are nice..." she thought as she tucked some of her hair behind her ears.
Rose opened her mouth to tell them why she was so upset, but then she remembered Marius clearing his throat earlier when she had been speaking to Gracelyn. It was obvious that he did not want her talking about it, but she really felt like she should with someone. "Should I risk his anger and tell them and or Gracelyn?"
After a moment, Rose decided she could tell them. "Yesterday, our master was in the pool... He was alone, so I joined him.... And...." Rose took a shaky breath. She wanted to tell them, but she had to phrase it correctly. She looked from one twin to the other and told them as plainly as she could.

Marius took Gracelyn up in his arms and embraced her tightly.
"I know you have thoughts about this guest. Perhaps he will return this evening. If he doesn't, there's always another night. And you're always welcome in my bed." Marius released her.
"You had better begin getting ready for tonight. I'm off to discuss the evening with the twins."
Marius walked away from Grace and headed upstairs where he heard the boys off in Rose's room. He smiled, thankful that they were already getting along. He was about to enter the room when he heard something about the pool, and earlier that morning. Marius stood at behind the door and listened to the entire conversation. He became rapidly infuriated. Entirely irate. Absolutely pissed the ******** off.
Marius slammed open the door and glared angrily at the small slave. He demanded the boys leave the room immediately and say nothing of the information they were just told. Marius stood tall and proud, intimidating rather.
"You have greatly upset me, slave. Our business is our business. I thought I had made that perfectly clear this morning. You are entirely lucky that it is almost time to perform tonight or I'd be dealing with you in another way. You, however, are not going to perform tonight. Consider yourself, how to put it...grounded!"
Marius slammed the door shut on his way out of Rose's room, locking it behind him and pocketing the only key. He had engineered the knobs himself to prevent unlocking from the inside. He continued down the hallway, breezing past the twins who were hanging outside of the room, and entered his own space.

Rose Byrne Rose jumped in shock when her door slammed open, and upon seeing it was Marius, a small whimper escaped her. Her already small body seemed to shrink before him, fresh tears already welling up in her eyes. "He's going to sell me... And I don't want to be sold!"
With thoughts of being sold racing through her mind and scaring her, she almost missed what he said. He told her she wasn't performing that night and that she was grounded, which she didn't understand. Which wasn't very surprising since she had lived all her life that she remembered, in a cage.
Rose flinched as the door slammed shut. Her tears then began to fall heavily as she curled up even more, sobbing heavily. Her entire frame had already been trembling, but this was even more so. "I wonder if he will punish me even further..." she thought, terrified at what he might have in store for her.

In his arms her heart stopped for a moment. She felt guilty at his words on the guest. She was... grateful but there was no right way to tell a master you loved them. No. Not love. Love was for the free. Even Gracelyn knew she'd fallen quickly, perhaps it was his kindness that fueled it. She wanted to cling to him when he let go... but she did not. It was foolish. Bowing her golden head, " As you wish, Sir. Thank you." After he left, she scooped up Cutie and washed the dishes. Quietly hoping the man with the scarf would come back. Wondering if.. if it would be alright to- was that yelling? Plates clean and burner off, she quickly came up the stairs just as their master locked Rose's door and stormed into his room. Her gaze fell to the twins and then to Rose's door. What had happened? Gracelyn could hear Rose crying. She went to the door, testing the nob- to see if it truly had been locked. Oh Rose, what happened? She bit her lip, a small anger lighting in her. Rose was too fragile to be locked away, all alone in that room with no one to console her. Gracelyn turned and faced the twins, her tone gentle but firm, " What happened?" Jaegar and Jaeger had given to tell as to being upset but Rose's words or intrigued by them. Both knew their place, both had been slaves long enough to understand but- they looked at one another. This little raven seemed to be terrified... it couldn't have been her first time could it? Perhaps. That is a sad fact, what master wants- master gets. Both were starting to speak when the feline master slammed into the room. The pink wrapping into the arms of the blue with a shout of surprise. Both firmly between their master and the girl... until the command came to leave the room. Both hesitated, looking at Rose but obeyed none the less. They did not answer the order with words or sign they had heard, simply moved to the hallway. Jaegar buried his face against Jaeger's chest as they listened to the tiger tell the small girl off. Jaegar looked up to Jaeger, didn't their master know slaves were going to talk? Especially to one another. Both felt a pang of guilt- it was their fault... they'd asked her to tell them her sorrow. To share her pain. Both watched as their master locked the girl in, as the tall blond ran up the stairs and as the master left. Their attention fell to the woman. She was even taller than they and so pretty. The concern on her face, perhaps she was the first one here. Both moved to her and produced teary eyes at her question. It was an act which quickly fell genuine. "Please forgive us, Sister"
"Yes please! Oh we meant no harm."
"She was crying and upset and we asked her to share"
"And only go her in trouble." " W..why was she crying?" "We cannot tell the master forbids."
"We are very sorry. We meant no harm to raven"
"No harm at all. We only wanted to help." Gracelyn bit her lip, taking a deep breath and exhaling. If she wasn't to know, then she could only repair and bring peace with what little she had. A small gentle smile on her full lips, " I am Gracelyn. You may call me that or Grace. Please go to your rooms and prepare for tonight's show. Our master expects us to do well and for him we will do exactly that." "And the Raven?"
"What of Rose?" " I will... I will see if I can calm her down through the door. Do not worry. Just... please go and prepare." She was wise this one. The twins nodded, they liked her. They linked arms and bowed very deeply. "I am Jaeger"
"I am Jaegar."
"We are in your debt." And scampered off. Gracelyn shook her head and sat by the door. She knocked lightly and slid her fingers beneath the frame. Her voice was soothing balm and affection, " Rose... Rose, it's okay... listen, Rose.. I'll sing just for you." And she did. Gracelyn sang very softly a child's lullaby. Something to calm and caress, something to ease a wounded heart. Cutie squirmed under the door and bounded to the girl, wriggling into the ball of protection and cuddling up. ((OOC: please please please only quote me if I haven't answered in more than two days time.
I'm constantly watching- my posts just take time and I'm very sorry for that. But I check constantly
so please pleaaaassssee give me a chance

Rose Byrne Rose had still been sobbing when Gracelyn and the odd twins began to talk with each other. She couldn't hear them over her sobs, and therefore did not know they were even outside her room. She sniffled as she sobbed, hiccuping occasionally.
A soft and gentle voice managed to float it's way through to Rose and she looked up to her door where it had come from. She saw slender fingers sliding through the gap between the door and the floor and she sat up a bit, listening as Gracelyn started singing.
Rose's eyes were beginning to droop as the song was quickly soothing her, when Cutie squirmed into her room. Shocked, she sat frozen a moment before she began to pet Cutie, grateful for his presence and him cuddling up to her. Carefully holding him, she went and sat at her door, lightly placing one of her hands on Gracelyn's.OoC: Sorry. I tend to forget it is there.

Her long gloved fingers would curl around and affectionately rub the small hand. True, her palm could not fit under the door, but such was the curse being a uniquely shaped individual. " I'm so sorry you're locked in your room, Rose," she said softly, " but everything will be alright. I- I promise." She would do whatever she could to help the smaller girl. Gracelyn felt anxious with her locked away... how was it she was so attached so quickly? " Would you mind if Cutie kept you company?"

Rose Byrne Rose had stopped crying for the most part, except for the occasional tear that w.uld slide down her cheek. She squeezed Gracelyn's hand softly, a silent thank you for her comfort. She was grateful, and was glad she had someone she felt she could trust;
Rose listened to Gracelyn, gently petting Cutie with her free hand. "Just don't get yourself in trouble... Please...." She asked this softly, her voice scratchy from all her crying. She didn't know what she would do if she lost her only friend.
Rose smiled when she was asked if she would let Cutie stay with her. "I would love that. He is very sweet...." She kissed his head then, cuddling him gently and lovingly. "You know... You are the closest thing I have ever had to a mother or a sister...." Rose told her this shyly, not knowing how she would react to be told that.

She was moved by the concern, smiling gently. Her tone was honey, " Do not worry about me, Rose. I... I am certain everything will be alright and I will do my best to help." She wanted to ask the girl to share her room. This way she could keep a better eye on her. Maybe later when... when they weren't holding hands beneath a door. Gracelyn flushed at the words of the younger girl. Sister? Mother? Her fingers tightened a moment in her surprise. Oh it would have made her so happy for someone to call her sister. Maybe one day... one day long in the future mother. But that was a very slim chance. She was a slave- something so precious wasn't for her. She cooed softly, " If you'll have me, I would be your sister in this. I... I would not mind having a little sister."

Rose Byrne Rose smiled softly when Gracelyn's fingers tightened a moment at her words of her being like a sister or mother. She really had become attached to Gracelyn in the very short time she had known her. "I would love to be a little sister to you Grace..."
Rose gently pet Cutie all during this. He was so sweet and cuddly. She liked his company. At times she liked to be alone, but she didn't like being alone like this, forcefully. Again, she was grateful for Gracelyn, but Rose knew she had to go at some point for the entertainment that night, and she would be lonely then..

Marius laid back on his bed, his hands knotted behind his head. He was fuming mad. He shut his eyes tight and tried to figure out why he was so mad. Was it because of what he had done? Because Rose told the Jaeger twins? No, none of those could be right. Marius didn't care if the other slaves knew, they would have found out eventually anyway.
Marius opened his eyes. He sat up slowly, thinking. Was he so mad because he didn't want to be made a fool? Yes, that had to be it. He brought his knees to his chest and rested his arms across them, his tail flicked with anxiety. He didn't want his slaves to think him cruel. Granted, what he did was cruel, but it was only a matter of time until he bedded Rose anyway, so what difference did it make?
His slaves were his posession, his property to do with as he willed. He sat a little straighter. He felt slightly better having justified his actions to himself. He felt no remorse, no guilt or anything. He was the caesar, his home his kingdom, his housemates his peasant slaves. He was the utmost ruler. He stood and groomed himself before the night's performance. He looked out his window and saw the dirigible on approach.
He thought about the night's performances and decided to do something different. He would, before the night was out, regain the respect he so desired from the meek little raven girl.
Marius walked to the door of his room and intercommed the house.
"Will Gracelyn and the Jaegers please meet me out back on the porch? Thank you."
Marius left his room, headed downstairs, and out to the porch, waiting for his housemates. He was going to put them in the Isolation House for the evening, to make sure he could carry out his night's plan with no interference...or rather, distractions.

" Everything will be fine, Little Sister," she cooed, trying the phrase. It tasted like sugar. She blushed, jumping slightly at the white room door opening. Was it almost show time... yes. She had watched him go down the hall. He'd walked right past her and he hadn't gotten angry. So everything must have been alright. Everything would be fine. Gracelyn could hear Rose's calmness and smiled softly though it could not be seen. " I have to go. Cutie will keep you company... just leave your toilet lid up and he'll he fine," she instructed, very slowly letting go. Gracelyn hesitated leaving the but when the master calls you come. " I will be back," she promised, going to her room and changing into a simple sheer red dress before heading out to the porch. On the way the twins joined her, both smiling on either side of her. She carefully braided her hair on the way, creating a tight whipcord of length. They'd been fooling around, both had Cheshire grins and flushed expressions- all the previous drama forgotten. True they never did anything per se, but a healthly amount of flirting and caressing was always a good way to get your spirits up before a performance. They had dressed down to their basics as it was always good for the audience to see your body when it moved or when it flexed. Both seemed to have found a mysterious amount of body glitter and were quite shiny. When the call came, they sped into the hall and surrounded the tall pretty sister. They marveled at how tightly she wound her braid with Cheshire grins- you could swing from a braid like that. Maybe she was a dominatrix type. Jaegar flushed and Jaeger grinned. They said nothing- the silence was comfortable. The tree stepped out onto the porch and oddly enough bowed in unison. " Are we greeting the guests, Sir?"

Rose Byrne Rose smiled at being called little sister. It made her feel happy and loved. Suddenly Marius called for Gracelyn and the twins, making her sigh. She did not want her to have to go yet. Still silent, she listened as someone walked down the hallway. Her guess was their master.
Rose sighed as Grace slowly let her hand go. It made her feel lonely somewhat, but at least she did have Cutie. A little after she heard Gracelyn's footsteps disappear down the hallway, she got up and went to the bathroom, putting up the toilet lid. "I wonder why she told me to leave it up...." Deciding to wait until she could ask Grace, she went and lay on her bed, watching Cutie.
