Akumi sighed. "I agree... it makes about as much sense as getting hit with baseball bats," he muttered. He heard Hank's voice as the door opened, asking if they were nearby.

Akumi smiled faintly. "When does life in general make sense? In my opinion, life can be just as screwed up as any movie or cartoon," he said dryly. He moved towards the door cautiously.

Akumi sighed. "I'll go first, just to show you it won't hurt," he said to Twila as he walked through the door, momentarily surprised at how it looked. Hank looked a little sheepish. "Fortunately we recently upgraded everything thanks to help from some allies," he said cheerfully. "For the blood test, all that's needed is a single vial of blood," he said, holding up the vial, which was only an inch and a half long and roughly three quarters of an inch in diameter with a half inch needle sticking out. "Other than that, all that's necessary is for you to stand still," he said with a smile.

Twila nodded "ok..." she replyed quietly. Then she saw the needle and relaxed though the weird technology stuff made her abit nervous.

Akumi took a deep breath, bending his arm slightly. Hank slid the needle into the skin at the crook of his elbow, which stung slightly. Blood filled up the vial before Hank pulled it away. He blinked as he picked up a bandage, noticing a flicker of prismatic energy that faded even as he noticed it, leaving no puncture from the needle at all. Interesting, it seems that the aura he manipulates to transform also acts as a healing factor, though how rapid it is, we cannot be sure, he thought. A horizontal beam of light scanned his body from head to foot before dissipating as Hank half turned, watching one of the monitors. "Intriguing; it seems you have a secondary circulatory system within your body, separate from your normal circulatory system which moves blood through your body, though what the secondary system manipulates seems to be some sort of energy," he remarked.

Akumi frowned slightly. "I wonder if he knew that," he muttered. Jean frowned. "Who?" she said, her tone careful. "Essex," the reply came. Hank glanced at Jean, whose hand had clenched for a moment. "His name isn't Essex; it's Sinister, and he's a mutant scientist.... one who ran a project that a friend of ours escaped from," Hank said carefully. "I know. I was part of it as well, though even Sinister-Essex... whatever his name is.... doesn't know my true mutant power," he said. A sharp inhalation came from Jean, as if she knew something of what he referred to. "There was someone else from that project that came here, but ended up acting as a 'sleeper' agent in an attempt to strike from within. Unfortunately, she ended up dying as a result of some sort of enhancer that went wrong," Jean said softly. Akumi's eyes narrowed, his green irises igniting with prismatic energy. "He was still using that?" he said in a low voice. Hank took a half step back as if wary. "I'm not going to let my anger out on people who don't deserve it... as it is, I can't do anything regardless without knowledge of what my abilities are and being able to control them," he said quietly as the energy faded from his irises. "I was Prodigy Three," he said quietly.

Akumi saw Hank frown. "Vincent said the first four died," he muttered, almost too low to hear. "One, Two, and Four did die... physically, because of my true power, they merged with me, in a way," he said quietly. He held up one hand, the vial in Hank's fingers rising out and floating in front of his eyes before floating closer to Akumi, slowly rotating end over end in the air due to the telekinetic energy he was manipulating. "I can tap into their powers when necessary, though trust me when I say merging is a b***h... and there seems to be a time limit of two and a half to three days," he said quietly.
Jean gasped, looking at the scanner, which seemed to still be active. It picked up on what seemed to be a set of threads of invisible energy that extended from Akumi's fingertips, connecting them to the vial. It isn't like telekinesis... but it's very similar, she thought. Akumi cocked his head ever so slightly, sensing Jean's surprise, though he didn't comment on it. "The other powers would be dangerous to reveal, as they can be unpleasant," he said quietly as he let the vial float back into Hank's fingers, ignoring the surprised look on his face. Jean saw, through the scanner, the threads seem to vaporize and fade away into nothingness. I wonder, she thought. She tapped a button to clear the sensors and ready it for Twila as Akumi flickered, vanishing before reappearing next to Twila. "It itches, the needle, but it isn't painful beyond a slight pinch," he said quietly to her.

Hank shifted his weight, placing the vial of Akumi's blood into a tray to examine later before picking up a sterile one for Twila. "You just have to stand still, that's all," he said with a small half smile as his fingers twitched, uncapping the small needle.
