Kani dropped her hands to regard Archer and sighed. He seemed to be taking the attention the other boils were getting to heart. "Look. Ghouls like confidence, but there is confidence, and there is being a d**k." To which she gestured to the boils over yonder. "But hey, some ghouls like sweet guys too. It all depends, but most people don't like someone who doesn't have any confidence at all. It makes them seem like they can't even hold their own head up eye to eye to someone. That they don't got their act together." She patted his shoulder.

"Thank Jack," he breathed out. "I gotta admit, I've been dreadin' that question for so long," he told her. "Course now I gotta figure out where we should go for our first date, of course... or I suppose you could do that," he decided. "You're good at that sort of thing. If we left it up to me we'd wind up havin' a picnic, but forgetting to pack the food, or something..."

Selene followed Vanth's nod, and stared out with wide eyes at Rengath and Faysal. They both looked like definite troublemakers. Especially that Rengath! Selene could almost taste the hatred coming out of him, and her thin little forked tongue slipped out from between her lips at the thought. She started to tiptoe, very carefully, right beside Vanth. She was like a hero, a hero of stealth. If one shrub could stare in awe at another shrub, surely this was what it would look like.

Suddenly, Vanth shrieked, which of course made Selene squeak, and she curled up so tightly into her shrub that she disappeared. She was like a turtle in it's shell, except the shell was leaves, and she wasn't very well protected at all.

"Vanth.." The shivering shrub whispered shakily. "Vanth are we still in.. incognito.."

She heard Murdoch discuss burning them, and the shrub let out a whimper of dismay. "Pleassssssse do not burn sssshrubssss, we have done nothing to you, we are just innocent sssshrubssss." Innocent talking shrubs. "Move along."

The meeting was forced to a close and the reprieve from the awful clean up duty was taken away. As Callie strode onto the grounds, her nose wrinkled - it still smelled of the horrid fire here and there, and now there was muck and slime to deal with too. Aghhhh, all she wanted to do was go to the tunnel again and figure out what the quest was. Then again, graduating was also a necessary and important part of her life. Jack damn it.

For now, she kept to Red's advice and swallowed back the impulse to sneak off. Her partner was nowhere to be found anyway, and she didn't want to risk further danger to her person without backup.

May wiggled closer to him, until she was wrapping around him in a hug of excitement. "No it should be you. I'd pack us a vegetarian lunch and I just know you'll hate that."

She wiggled even more. "Date! We have date!" Letting go of her hug, she grabbed both of his hands and playfully said, "How long were you dreading it cowboil? A week? Two weeks? Do I intimidate you?" Her look was sassy and serious, but you couldn't take that smile off her face.

"Well... a bit longer than that," he said modestly. "I ain't gonna say HOW long cuz it'll go straight to your head, but I will say we should probably get to work on our booths. We got goals to fulfill." But he was hugging her back. In fact he leaned down, brushing a kiss against her lips. "Okay?" he asked.
