Shaking his head roughly, the Ground-Type would wipe the blood from his wound before looking over to Yoshi. Despite the damage he'd been dealt, the Sandshrew was actually a resolute pacifist. His life did not depend upon him fighting back just yet, and for it he would not.
With this simple fact in mind the Pokemon began to dig, turning his back upon Yoshi and spraying dirt and sand in the direction of the blue scaled reptile. Another Sand-attack. It seemed he wouldn't be happy until Yoshi was completely blind!

-3 to Accuracy Rolls Once again the sand sprayed him in the eyes. No matter how fast the reptile was, he could never manage to avoid getting hit by the sand. It could be quite irritating at times. Nonetheless he had to continue until this battle was over. The Totodile lunged forward, slashing with a Metal Claw! He hoped to finish this battle soon!

Making use of his current position the Sandshrew would continue moving his claws, kicking off the ground and barrelling forward down the tunnel. Throwing in an intentional trip the Sandshrew would curl into a ball, shifting his weight and causing himself to swing around and roll back in the direction of where he'd been standing before...albeit a little to the left.

(8-3)+ (12-13) = 4 DMG Sandshrew 5 HP remaining -3 to Accuracy Rolls
+1 to Yoshi's attack! The Totodile struck and left his mark once more. This time the cut was more of a simple scratch then a deep laceration. The Totodile continued moving around in various directions. He might be running one way before hopping another. Skipping back and forth and just decided to keep moving. He pondered the fact that the Sandshrew would probably still defend. Should he risk it? The Totodile skipped forward and it turned into a charge. Claw glowing silver, he aimed to slash the Sandshrew apart before his enemy could strike!

Bloodied and battered, the Sandshrew still refused to go on a true offensive. Sweeping some dirt aside with his tail, the Ground-Type would spray it into his opponent's face. Another Sand-attack meant to keep his opponent off balance.

((I'm confused... You'll have to calculate that one and tell me if Sand Attack hit... )) -3 to Accuracy Roll The Totodile continued forward regardless of whether the sand attack hit him or not. He would continue moving forward, claws glowing silver once more. He was going to really land a good Metal Claw. This time instead of fooling around, he let loose a roar to mimic the Feraligatr he would eventually become!

((Let me put it bluntly.))YOSHI ACCURACY -4 ">Give up señor, the tables they've already turned!<" The Sandshrew called out meaningfully, his intent was obvious enough. He'd keep blinding Yoshi further till the Totodile couldn't see; an opponent incapable of landing a blow was as good as beaten.
Slapping his tail against the ground, the Sandshrew would cause several small stones to bounces off the floor. Sweeping the pebbles up with one claw the Ground-Type would begin to throw them swiftly, intending the bounce them one after another off Yoshi's thick hide. The small stones wouldn't be able to do much in the way of damage, but they'd certainly prove a distraction!

Yoshi had managed to slice through the pokemon but barely nicking the skin at all. There was a few drops of blood dripping from the scratch that had just been inflicted but besides that, the Sandshrew was unharmed. Instead he just stood watching for a mere second. The Totodile began leaping up and down once again starting his strange defensive maneuvers.

Wiping the blood from the scratch and scoring it with sand, the Sandshrew's eyes would narrow upon the Totodile ">Very well señor...<" The Gound-Type uttered with a sigh, raising one claw cloaked in a shadowy black. He had been forced into something of a corner now; and for it he would move on the offensive.
Darting forward the Sandshrew would swing his claws forward, striking out with Nightslash!

Riku watched as the Sandshrew missed and glanced at the ground pokemon. Okay, things were definitely going well. Shrugging, she then returned Yoshi to his pokeball. Time to change the battle up a little. The girl released her Larvitar, letting Ryuu come and finish the battle.
Ryuu was released onto the field and glanced at the Sandshrew. The Larvitar took up a defensive stance, calmly watching the other pokemon. Whichever direction the pokemon may charge, he would try to avoid and move the opposite way.

">Amiga, is this truly worth it?<" The Sandshrew asked, looking beyond Ryuu to Riku as shadows began to swell around his right claw ">Think before you answer...<" He'd go on to state, rushing forward and raising his claw into the air. Unlike Yoshi the Larvitar's defense was weak, and now was the perfect change to end this in a single blow of Nightslash!

This wasn't good. The Night Slash slashed harshly against Ryuu and splurts of his blood littered the ground. The wound was deep, though not deadly. Riku winced, watching but had faith in the Larvitar. If things were really ugly, she would step in. No, she needed to trust him right now.
Ryuu winced after the attack hit. The Sandshrew was strong and he charged forward. He would protect Riku no matter what. The Larvitar aimed to Bite down on his opponent and finish this battle!

The Sandshrew closed his eyes as Ryuu drew closer ">Very well Amiga and señor, but remember this is my domain<" The Ground-type stated, his tone a tad sombre as he adjusted his stance. This was his world, a land of dirt and stone, of unfaltering earth. Pressing his feet firmly against the ground the Sandshrew would wedge his tail part way into the dirt. Head inclined he crossed his plated arms over his chest. He was a Ground-Type, purer blooded then the one before him. His was the strength of the ancient earth!

Ryuu had come so close! However the Larvitar stumbled at last minute and missed. Riku clenched her fists and then watched wearily. If Ryuu could last this next attack, they'd be okay. She'd be forced to try and catch it. Too much time was being wasted here.
Ryuu thought the attack was going well. But his maw snapped an inch away from the pokemon before he hit the ground. Hurrying back up to his feet, he backed up and waited. That Night Slash would be something to be weary of.

Opening his eyes and uncrossing his arms the Sandshrew exhaled a deep breath. He was not simply taking in and release air, but drawing in the power of the earth itself. Tail flicking behind him the Ground-Type would slowly raise one foot, stomping it deep into the soft dirt beneath him. The next moment he would take a slow, powerful step forward, thrusting his arm forward with all his power and more, attempting to strike down his opponent with another Nightslash!
