"It could still be a trap." Kalama grumbled irritably, though for some reason it seemed unlikely Kaanga would do that. She didn't even know the lioness, but just... her attitude.
But she didn't remain glum for much longer. They were moving again, and the red female was quite pleased. Yes, soon there would be more fighting and attacking and no more stupid riddles. She gave one last glance around the area she had been watching, before standing to resume her position up front, closer to Hraga. She didn't mean to impose any sort of authority for herself, she just liked to be closer to the fighting. She was ready, anxious even, to move along.
It was an interesting bout of information. And Kaanga made a very interesting traitor. He might have laughed at her antics, but as soon as she'd been qualified a traitor Sjari's mood was soured. He hated traitors. At least this time it was just a game.Surely no firekin would actually betray their home, like Svarr had.
He took a step almost at the same time as Badieh. Though he wasn't excited for more fighting, he was reading to move forwards.

Teketeza didn't want to think, he wanted to fight. Of course in a real battle he would be forced to do both, but this wasn't a real battle. Riddles were not told in real battles. The Nergui were not going to offer valuable information freely. Any sense of seriousness he may have had going into the war games had left him, and now he just wanted to get them over with so that he could do some real training. At least if they found Azar's team, a bit of fun may return.
Once Kaanga had telling them all that she knew, Teketeza frowned deeply. "Thanks for nothing." He spat, before quickly jumping to his feet and proceeding along the rocks. In his opinion, the information they had been given was simply not worth the wait that they had been forced to ensure. They would've been better off just tagging the two weirdos out and finding Azar on their own.
Ukuba could see movement amongst the rocks once more, as Team One was seemingly on the move again. The dark red male moved along the sidelines with the group of Medics, who were also keeping an eye on what was going on. He still hadn't managed to find his brother again, but hopefully the group would become more visible as they went on.

"That was positively USELESS!" Soleil shook her head, then took off after her half-brother. When she caught up to him, she gave a snort. "I can't believe we waited around for that... We could have gained GROUND by now!"
Keahilani simply snorted, then started to follow... Only for something to catch his ear. He turned back and looked right at Morag in the eye. But instead of raising any alarm or saying anything, he calmly waited for his injured half-sibling. Even if she could only see out of one eye, he felt she could still be of use. After all, her EARS still worked, and so did her body. Waste not, want not, as their shared maternal grandfather had told him once.
If he noticed Morag there, Singh didn't comment. Instead, he went over to Kaanga and Mpaji, putting on a show of 'treating' them while the others left. As he leaned down, he couldn't help but chuckle. "Kaanga, you're positively a drama queen sometimes..." He looked over at Mpaji. "And you can be a drama king... Quite the act of 'dying' you two put on, I'm very impressed!" Then he sat down, waiting for the other medics to help 'move' the 'dead.'

Mkazo had fidgeted and grumbled at the delay, for he was a fighter, not a thinker. Leave the riddles to those that enjoyed them! ...Wait. Wait, what? This had just been a diversion?! A snarl on his face, he let out an irritated growl as he took off with the others, surging towards the forefront of the group. The riddlers had already been tagged out, but the next combatants might find themselves smacked just a little bit harder for the delay...

Hraga couldn't help but feel his blood roar as the group ran in the direction his aunt had said Azar to be. This was it. The ultimate showdown between master and student! He had a strong team and the advantage over Azar. Could it possibly be that easy a win? Would it have been more honorable to wait for Azar's full forces to convene together?
Hraga snorted at the thought. If Azar had taught him anything, it was to be smart and efficient. If Azar had been in his place, he had to think his old teacher would have taken advantage of the same opening.
If there was one, that is... Hraga slowed to a stop before they rounded the corner.
"Alright everyone, I dont doubt Azar'bijan is down the old palace corridor. But...I'm not completely certain its not a trap. So lets spread out a bit. Climbers, try to scale up the side of the rocks. You can cover us from above, but keep an eye out for any guards Azar has placed up there," he said, his eyes appraising the remaining forces. Both old and new faces staring back at him. "The rest of us, lets push ahead! Its time to end this with a victory for team I!"
The black lion tore down the old palace path. It was a familiar route- he'd been born not too far from here. It was funny how foreign it felt, now that the area had been repurposed for the games.
Sure enough, once they'd crossed the path and entered into one of the pride's main drives they were confronted by a small squad of lions. Hraga noticed Azar immediately among them... but he wasn't the only one!
"Oh look, it seems those two idiots don't know the meaning of a distraction," came the rather icy tone of Armada. Her strange eyes focused squarely on the group, and a rather brutal smile crossed over her lips. She turned her head towards Azar, the eerie expression never dropping. "Orders, sir?"

What a sight for sore eyes! Kalama was so pleased to see a few enemies after that whole riddle fiasco, such a waste of time. She sort of wanted to just run right up to them, but stayed herself, and looked at Hraga expectantly.
"They've seen us. Let's go?" There was no point in sneaking about, nwo that they had been spotted. And she really hope they wouldn't waste time with talking, or silly monologues. Really, they had to take down Azar before the others came!
As the enemy came in sight, Sjari could only sigh. Two more Hongshan, he would also hope to avoid them in battle. Partially because he'd rather let them practice against more worthy opponents (firekin), and partially because he just didn't want to fight them. Despite several improvements on his demeanor lately, he still remained the most edgy around other Hongshan, making things even more awkward by tagging one out didn't seem a good option.
Perhaps he was just, deep down, a bit of a coward! Oh well. He decided to go by the rocks, since he was still thin and light enough that climbing came easily.

Mo'o, the skink, scampered as fast as his little legs could carry him. Every once in awhile he had to take a breather. These lions ran so fast. Good thing he remembered the direction they were heading. Eventually, he caught up to them though he missed any interaction that had happened so far. His tongue was hanging out of his mouth as he sucked in air to cool himself down. It was way too hot to be running around after crazy lions. But he didn't want to miss the action.

Morag ignored any glances sent her way, particularly if they came from someone in her immediate family. She'd had it up to her ears with familial attention and was more than ready to find a little action after so time spent recuperating in the medical dens. She felt ready, her body moving much the way she was used to... and if there were little twinges as mostly healed scars pulled a little, she ignored them, taking to the sides of the group to strain her eye and ears for enemies trying to catch the group in a pincher movement from the sides.
She cast a fierce red glance at the set of lions waiting down the corridor and turned back, searching the rocks about them.

Her lips curled back in a snarl as the other lions came into sight. Soleil practically bristled, ready to attack, but held herself back. As her ears moved back and forth, she looked over to Hraga. "Should we just charge, or wait for the others to get in position?" She was eager to do SOMETHING, after so long just walking and keeping up and... Well, she had too much of the wrong things to do, in her own opinion.
Sure that Morag was holding her own, Keahilani switched to ignoring her presence to catch back up with the others. When Uncle Azar came into view, he lifted his head and pointedly glared at the older lion. He wasn't going down THAT easy... And he knew Azar wouldn't, either. "I believe it would take an idiot to KNOW an idiot when they saw one..." Somewhere he heard a snarl and wondered if Armada's son and Keahilani's cousin was close by.

For a moment, Mkazo had himself a dilemma. Climb the rocks - a surface he was far more familiar with than sand - or make his charge with the main ******** it, who was he kidding? He wanted to fight, and he wasn't exactly a lightweight who could skitter up the rocks like some of the other former rogues. He pressed on, keeping pace with the others up until they were halted by the appearance of Azar and several others. Well, it seemed this would be it. His tail lashed behind him a few times at the thought, and emerald eyes glinted with anticipation.
"Don't take too long to choose - or they'll choose for us," he rumbled.

Teketeza was already on top of the rocks, thundering across them with a complete lack of caution in regards to crumbling rocks or uneven surfaces. This had all gone on for far too long. Then finally, there they were, lining one of the main paths.
As the rest of Team One filed in, Teketeza stalked around the top of the rocks, a low growl radiating in his throat. It didn't look like any of Team Two were on top of the rocks. From up here, he could tackle any member of Team Two, as it wasn't too far a drop from where he was to the path below. Maybe he could take out more than one of them, considering his size and the fact that he was far too eager to enter a confrontation. It took a lot of his mental strength just to stop himself from attacking right now. He quickly turned to Hraga. "Just say the word and Team Two is done for."

Well it was about time they arrived. Azar’bijan gave a loud snort of amusement in response to Armada’s sneering as the group appeared from the path and braced himself against the compact stone and sand beneath him. To say that his grand plan had gone without a hitch wouldn’t have been completely true. After all, before this moment they had lost all but Roho – who had returned to group up with them and stood on guard at his flank. He mentally scratched off the names of those who had ‘died’ and filed in a mental reminder to speak with them later. But for now he had only to concentrate on his victory and revel in the awe-eyed looks sent his way once this was done. There would be the hushed whispers amongst the pride members as they recognised him passing by and, when the time came for real war, they’d be clambering over one another to sign up to his team. Azar’s eyes glinted with triumph and, throwing up his head, he relayed the orders requested. “Stay together.” He barked. “Hold this position. Let them come to us. Anyone who gets separated from the group is a dead lion and I’m not going to be dragging your a** out of the fire if that happens.” He’d play this defensively – as he knew best. He was a corporal of the guard, after all. Besides that, it looked like Kaanga and Mpaji’s riddles had riled Hraga’s team somewhat. “Armada. Roho. Take point with me. Kiowaa and Tswana—” He turned to look towards them very briefly, meeting their gaze. “Hang back until they’re engaged.” And, with another snort, he lifted his head with an air of confidence and roared his challenge.

"I know a fool from a soldier," Armada jumped forward, falling into stride with Roho. She wasn't going to end up a dead lion, that was for sure. They might have been outnumbered, but as the strange lioness scanned the group, she was pleased to see mostly younger ones. Hopefully they wouldn't cry too much when they tore them apart.
Metaphorically, she reminded herself quietly. It hadn't been the first time she'd needed to do so.
---
Hraga bristled. He didn't like that Azar was holding ground, but there wasn't much they could do about it. They had the superior force, and were on a winning streak. Hopefully that was all they needed to take the win. "They're going to hold ground," he said through gritted teeth. "The only thing to do is try and overwhelm them. Split off anyone you can. We don't want them holding a formation."
He didn't look upwards at the lions that had taken to the rocks. Hopefully Azar hadn't noticed them moving into position, and that could be of use to them in this charge.
Momentarily rattled by the sound of Azar's roar, Hraga soon retaliated with one of his own.
It was time to finish this!

He moved much more lightly than Teketeza, expertly finding his way among the rocks. He kept himself low so that the enemies would not spot him from below, as that would sort of defeat the whole purpose of splitting up. Sjari also tried to keep an eye out for any team two members that might be up here, but admittedly his main focus was the group below.
Once he was in an adequate position, he looked over to Hraga, and the rest of the group on the ground. He had to time his own attack well, because jumping prematurely would only guarantee being tagged out quickly. Once their team came to meet Hraga, Armada and Roho up front, Sjari would jump down for Kiowaa and Tswana.
It didn't seem to take long, and soon it was time to go. He took a breath, and let himself fall into the fray.
That was as good a start as any! Taking Hraga's roar as a signal to move forward, Kalama did just that. She vaguely remembered checking to assure she wouldn't be charging alone, but as soon as her paws were working it seemed the only things in the world were their targets up front. Armada, Azar, Roho, it didn't matter to her.
Finally, it was time to fight.

If she was rattled by their uncle's roar, Soleil didn't show it. Her hackles fully raised and she let loose her own roar, before she began to charge. She wasn't about to lose, not to them! Especially not to her own uncle!
Keahilani charged on in, head first, not really caring what happened at this point. He just wanted to smack somebody's head around, maybe gum a couple rumps... He roared mid-charge, eyes squeezed shut by it, and felt his shoulder connect with something. He wasn't sure if it was friend or foe, though, but it wasn't a rock, that was certain. He sure hoped it was foe.
