Ah, now they were getting somewhere. It was his turn to lift his hands, leaning forward so his elbows were on the table and his fingers were steepled. He had thought that the word 'love' had been a bit of a strong choice of phrasing himself, but he had been trying to get a reaction from the ghoul, one that might leave her unable to assault him with more questions that brought up bad memories.

As he watched her emotions unfold on her face, and listened to her words, however, he didn't get the satisfaction he thought he would feel. Instead he just felt...bad. It wasn't pity, not exactly, but it was close. Since she had shared so much with him, he thought maybe he aught to do the same in return.

"Ok, fine, it was a cop out. Obviously my sisters wouldn't be my favorite people, but I'm not afraid of them. At least, not anymore." He let his hands drop, one arm shifting to his lap while he tapped the table with his index finger. "My biggest fear is to lose a...certain someone...that I've...well, I've grown quite fond of." He wanted to leave it at that, because nobody else knew his feelings towards this person but himself, and he wanted it to remain that way until he could finally tell the other party. Whenever he finally felt that he was brave enough to so. His smile might not have been quite the face splitting grin it had been when this conversation had started, but it was still there.

"I keep smiling because as long as my worst fear hasn't come true, I still have a reason to smile. If I ever stop, it means I've become miserable and alone, and I don't intend to ever have that happen." With that, he moved his hand to the top of his card and slid it in front of himself. He glanced down at it, pondering whether he should ask her another question, or just get his stamp and be done with it.

He looked back up towards her, sliding his card across the table. "Is there anything that makes you smile?"

"Wine?" his smile broadened, as he pocketed his stamped card then attempted to catch the one she threw at him, but his reflexes were just too slow. He bent down to retrieve the paper from the floor, then straightening back up, put it on the table and stamped it in return. He then lifted it up and held it back towards her to take from his hand.

"It was a pleasure to meet you, Riyo." And in an odd way, that was absolutely the truth. She had at least been...interesting to talk to, anyways. "I hope I can see you smile someday."

Possibly one of the lamest ending retorts to a conversation ever.

When Yuki noticed that his name was up on the board, he was quick to glance around at the tables to see if there was one empty. He was supposed to just pick one, right? It would probably help if he knew who the ghoul was on the board beside his name. Oh well, they'd soon find each other.

As though on cue, he heard someone speak his name questioningly. Looking toward the voice, he offered a friendly smile to Anna. "That'd be me!" Yuki called, waving to her for emphasis.

Table 3 happened to be closest and unclaimed, so he took hold of the back of a chair and scooted it out for her. It was the nice thing to do, after all, and he wanted to make a nice impression.

"Are you alright?" he asked, having noted that she had seemed to be slowly wandering through the tables. Some students were more nervous, he guessed. He didn't see why they were taking this so seriously. It was about friendly chatter, right?

Well, after what he'd seen of JD, maybe everyone didn't think so...

Yin eyed the board, glad that his name was only halfway down the list, and he was paired with...King? He grinned, no ghouls with their confusing messages this time! The mantodae was still oblivious to this being anything other than a conversation. He searched for the boil, finding him already seated at the table and with a beverage. Perhaps he should bring his own as well? He hurried over to the table and acquired more of the punch, as well as a plate of sausages on a stick as he had not eaten yet. Thus armed he made his way to the table, bowing slightly before seating himself and placing the plate in the middle of the table so that they could both reach it easily.

"Hello again Frost in the Snow, it is a pleasure to sit down and speak to you individually." There was really no need to ask him how his evening was going, so Yin decided to go straight to a question to get to know the other boil. "If I may be so bold as to begin the questioning, do you have any hobbies?" He picked up one of the sausages on a stick and took a bite, eating quickly and efficiently but with fairly decent table manners.

"It was not a problem," he quickly assured the boil.

Ah yes, hunting. That was a good hobby indeed. "Johnny Danger?" the mantodae said, expression clouded. "He should not be kissing ghouls. Well, other than his bonded. And certainly not to cause them harm." Perhaps he should find this boil and have a...word...with him.

"I enjoy hunting as well, though my main hobby is fighting. I train quite a bit, and I enjoy sparring. I cannot say that music is terribly important to me. I enjoy it when there is a performance." Though had not Alexander pulled up music on the skeevee?

"Why did you decide to come to school here?

That sounded...quite odd indeed. "The stars have rocks?" he mused aloud, rather amazed at the idea. Imagine. A boil from the moon or the stars. "I would welcome it. I believe you could be an interesting challenge." He smiled, flashing his own sharp teeth. "I am often in the gymnasium in the mornings."

A tribe's heir. He was an important boil then, especially to leave and go to a strange place. Then his expression grew troubled. "No. I do not. And if I do it is a momentary regret." It was a rather flat answer, and he felt that he should add to it. "I ran away from my Clan. After I had been gone for a couple of weeks I learned of Amityville."

He tried to think of something else to talk about. Something nice. "What is your family like?
