Zooey reluctantly handed Scott the bag and waited for him to return it. She then popped another marshmallow into her mouth and smiled when Courtney took one and tried talking. She giggled at how ridiculous she sounded. "Don't be sorry," Zooey said after swallowing the marshmallow. She watched Rachel and James for a moment before turning to the fire and picking up the skewer to roast marshmallows. She slid a marshmallow onto the end and stuck it into the fire.

Brett looked up when Zooey returned with the marshmallows. "I'll take one, too." He stood up and joined the girls by the fire. He looked at Courtney with a raised eyebrow when she spoke with a marshmallow in her mouth. "You're ridiculous," Brett said with a smile. He looked at Courtney for a moment longer before reaching into the bag for a marshmallow. He picked up the other skewer and started roasting his marshmallow.
Rachel blushed slightly when James put his arm around her. She rested her head on his shoulder again and closed her eyes. "Thank you," she whispered. When he asked if she would meet him in the kitchen, Rachel lifted her head and looked at him curiously. "Y-yeah... I guess..."
Scott munched on his marshmallow and watched Rachel and James out of the corner of his eye. He saw James glance in his direction with a smirk. Scott frowned. What? Trying to make me jealous? You think this is some kind of contest? Well, buddy, we'll see who can win her over... Scott finished his marshmallow and placed a hand on Rachel's leg. "What's in the kitchen?" he asked. "There's certainly more than enough food out here."

Courtney Berkly Courtney finished off the marshmallow in her mouth and stuck her tongue out at Brett and made a funny face for a split second when he wasn't looking. "Oh, come on guys! You can't tell me you've never heard of that game!" She gave a small giggle as she spoke mainly to Zooey and Brett but she gazed around the room, James and Scott seemed to be having some problems, it was in that moment that Courtney looked down and saw that Scott had his hand on Rachel's leg. A fire burned inside her, this guy was really pushing his luck. Courtney face became very serious as she started heading straight for Scott, not sure exactly what her intentions were. She was never one for violence but she wasn't afraid of this guy and she sure as hell wasn't about to let him hurt Rachel again, especially not for sport.

❅ RACHEL ❅ BRETT ❅Brett laughed and shook his head. "No, I haven't," he told Courtney. "I'm pretty sure you're just making things up." He smiled at her but it soon faltered when her face became serious. He followed her gaze and saw Scott's hand on his sister's leg. He set his skewer down on the table and followed Courtney. "Hey! Rachel let you into our home for food and shelter, not to ruin our party." Scott ignored Brett and eyes never left James's gaze. "Why should I? You don't own her. Has it ever crossed your mind that I might still have feelings for her? Sure, I was a complete a** for not telling her that I was moving and for not keeping in touch, but that was because it was too painful to say goodbye... Too painful to think that I might never see her again... I thought it would be easier for the both of us if I just disappeared and we tried to forget about each other..." Scott smirked and shook his head. "Worst idea ever..." He turned to Rachel and took one of her hands in both of his own. "I never stopped thinking about you, Rachel... I've missed you so much..." Rachel looked down at Scott's hand on her leg and blushed. Why do you have to make things so confusing? she wondered, looking into his eyes. When James spoke, Rachel jumped at how angry he sounded. She had never seen him this way before. However, as Scott started talking, her heart started to pound. "Why...?" she asked softly, looking into his eyes once more. "Why did you have to come back? I thought I was over you... I like James, okay? But you being here... You're making feelings resurface that I haven't experienced for such a long time... I..." Rachel bit her bottom lip and quickly stood up. "I can't be here right now..." She walked out of the room and dug her jacket out of the closet before leaving the house and walking out into the snow.(( OOC: ))

James Wilson James watched Rachel walk out and sighed,"Dammit."He said picking his coat up and glared at Scott,"You had better not be here when I get back, understand you damned git?"He asked before walking outside,"Rachel! Wait!"

Courtney Berkly Courtney watched as Rachel left and as James followed after her. Her eyes closed and her head had fallen in irritation, her hand instinctively came up the lightly pinch the bridge of her nose and she sighed heavily. Hopefully James could fix things, get Rachel to stop thinking about Scott. Courtney then looked up and walked over to face Scott. "How could you? How could you just show up one day unannounced and acting this way?... You didn't feel that you should have said something before you left? You didn't think she deserved some sort of closure? It may have been easier for you to just drop everything you had here and leave but it wasn't easy for Rachel... And if you truly had feelings for her and cared about her well being you would have put her before yourself! You should have let her know or at the very least answered one of her calls and told her!" Courtney let out a very uneasy breath before continuing her little rant. "Maybe you should be gone before Rachel gets back, you should move on because I will not let you break her heart again, I will make sure that you are never with her again... It's no surprise to me that she had to leave, I can't even stand to be in the same room with you and I'm not the one who got my heart broken by you," yeah, the last comment was rude but at the moment Courtney didn't feel bad for it. He had no right to come here after years and start talking this way to Rachel. Courtney's jaw clenched and so did her fists. Just thinking about all the pain that Scott had caused Rachel sent her anger through the roof and his pathetic excuses weren't helping.

Zooey watched everything with wide eyes. How could Scott do such a thing? How could he come back expecting everything would be alright between him and Rachel? Zooey watched Rachel and James run out of the house and immediately turned on Scott. She opened her mouth to yell at him but Courtney beat her to it. Zooey glared at Scott and nodded in agreement to Courtney's words. "I agree with Courtney," she finally said. "I think you've overstayed your welcome."

❅ RACHEL ❅ BRETT ❅The snow was up to Rachel's knees as she stood in her front yard. She wrapped her arms around herself and started to cry. "Why did you come back?" she yelled as the tears streamed down her face. "I've tried so hard to forget you! I tried to pretend that we never happened and that I never loved you... And here you are confusing the hell out of me!" Rachel's body shook as she continued to cry. "I like James..." she said softly. "He's so much better than you... He wouldn't leave without saying goodbye... He wouldn't leave..." Brett had had enough. He took Scott by the front of his shirt and punched him in the face. "You had better leave," he snarled, his face inches from Scott's. "I knew letting you in was a bad idea, but Rachel is old enough to make her own decisions. I thought she knew what she was doing, but here you are screwing everything up. Everything Courtney just said is true. You're a coward for letting my sister go like that. You need to go and just forget about her. She deserves so much better than a jackass like you." Brett shoved Scott to the floor before making his way to the closet. He pulled out Scott's jacket and tossed it to the floor in front of him. "Go." Scott's heart lifted when Rachel said feelings for him we resurfacing. Maybe he stood a chance. Maybe she could forgive him and things could go back to the way things used to be. He watched Rachel and James leave and was startled when Courtney turned on him. He opened his mouth to defend himself but Brett grabbed him and punched him first. Scott raised a hand to his face and felt a bruise starting to form. He looked Brett in the eyes and frowned. Maybe he did not have a chance... He picked up his jacket and slowly got to his feet. He tried to say something, but he did not know what. Sighing, Scott put his jacket on and walked out of the house. He saw Rachel and James together and stood on the porch as he watched them. (( OOC: ))

James Wilson James hugged Rachel and frowned,"You're right Rachel...I wouldn't leave you."He said kissing her cheek and hugged her tighter. "I would never dream of doing what he did to you..."He said wiping her tears away.

Courtney Berkly Courtney listened to Zooey agree and then watched as Brett had taken hold of the situation, grabbing Scott by the shirt and punching him. Not wanting to see the violence, Courtney turned around to face Zooey as she listened to what Brett was saying. She was glad that everyone agreed that he should leave, that he had over stepped some serious boundaries. She turned around just in time to watch Scott walk out the door. After the door closed behind him, Courtney picked up her cup and went to fill it back up with some more punch. "Good riddance," Courtney mumbled before taking a gulp of her punch.

❅ RACHEL ❅ BRETT ❅Rachel jumped when James put his arms around her. "James, I..." She turned to face him and blushed immensely when he kissed her on the cheek. "I didn't know you were right there..." Rachel rested her head on James's shoulder and tried to stop crying. "I wanted to tell you sooner... but I wanted to know how you felt about me first..." Brett watched Scott leave before pinching the bridge of his nose. He closed his eyes and took deep breaths to calm himself down. He was not usually like this and he hoped that his friends realized that he just could not take Scott's B.S. anymore. Sighing, Brett opened his eyes and looked at Courtney. He hoped that she had not changed her perception of him... Scott wanted desperately to pull Rachel away from James and never let her go. He wanted what they used to have, but that was the thing. They used to have something. Not anymore. Scott sighed and quietly made his way to his car. Despite the deep snow on the road, he was going to his grandparents' house and leaving Rachel's life for good. (( OOC: ))

Courtney Berkly Courtney bit her bottom lip as she tried to calm herself down, she was still anxious because of Scott and she couldn't be happier that he was finally gone, it wasn't as tense anymore. Once everything seemed to be a little more calm, Courtney came up behind Brett and messed up his hair. "I think you finally got through that thick skull of his," she joked, hoping it wasn't to soon. She moved over to the couch, taking the same spot she was in while playing apples to apples. She took a sip of her punch before putting it down.

Rachel tried to stop herself from smiling too widely. "R-really?" she asked, lifting her head to look into James's eyes. He kissed her on the cheek again and wrapped his coat around her. Rachel started blushing again as James led her back into the house. Once inside, she took off both jackets and hung them up in the closet. "Did... you still need to meet me in the kitchen...?"
Brett sighed and walked over to the snack table. As he was picking up a cookie, Courtney came up behind him and messed with his hair. Brett smiled as he turned to face her. Guess she did not. "Yeah... I think I may have gone too far through..." he said, looking down at his knuckles. Brett could feel them start to bruise. Then again, he never hit anyone so his hands could just be really fragile.
