WHAM.

There was no mistaking the Death Hunter as he literally slammed the door open, pulled out a chair at his usual spot, the part of the desk still covered in a few scattered pieces of map and notebook, and took a seat.

Caelius propped both arms against the table before giving the trainees his usual level, uninterested 'Do not ******** interrupt me' sort of stare. It was slightly more pleasant than usual. "While I am sure you have all sorts of burning questions regarding the Heirs of the Four Horsemen clans, I unfortunately have some follow up work to attend to." A sneer. "Congratulations trainees, you have volunteered yourself for mandatory maintenance duty. You will be contacted once proper preparations have been made, I am sure all your questions will be easily answered there using your own flawless deduction skills."

And with that, the Death Hunter picked up the last pieces of notebook from his spot and stood up. "You are dismissed trainees." A pause as he glared at some of the more errant members in the room. "Do not ******** forget to fill out your mission report form this time."

The door slammed just as dramatically against its hinges as Caelius stroke out.

OOC

- Congrats on making it this far! You have earned +4 bonus rp points for this RP as long as you posted more than 800 words total. If you did not quite make it you get +2 bonus rp points. So that is +2/4 on top of the usual RP amount for battle rps (+2)
- It is also recommended that you post your Mission Report form HERE for an extra + 1 RP point.
- The max you can earn TOTAL from this is +7 points (from extra GM ones and the regular thread/mission report ones/ including this thread here)

GM PRP MISSION REQUESTS

- MISSION REQUESTS are now open! There will be four different threads for prp group missions to potentially be active in, or you can request a solo mission.
- For a group mission (orp plot related) please pm either Lizbot OR Zoomutt, with the members in your group (AT LEAST THREE, more is great!), and what you are approximately looking for in that mission - though we might ignore the latter part in favour for other happenings ok.
- If you are looking for a SOLO MISSION, pm either of the two gms either, and simply state what you are looking for for your character, and perhaps a purpose to their mission ie: They want to investigate Halloween creatures further, and would like to go back to Halloween to do so, etc etc, so we know what kind of mission to give your character

"Mmmph," was all she managed by way of replying- to anything. Not that it counted as much of a response, but she did loosen her grip on Jeremy slightly.

Reine was Reine, and not Roberta anymore- not after Robert had done that to her- and Petra, and it was only then that she realised, for all she'd been talking about Petra's welfare, she'd really been thinking of her own.

It was her own selfishness that had shut the two of them out, thinking they'd be better off without her- perhaps, because she'd been the one who'd wanted out, in the first place. She'd wanted to be free of them, instead of having to drag those two heavy suitcases- all that baggage around. She'd worked so hard to be her own person- to excel at everything she'd tried her hand at, to find things she enjoyed doing, to get away from that childhood filled with shadows and betrayal and the two people who'd been with her through that, but done nothing at all to help.

They wanted her back in their lives? She wasn't going to be that silly, impressionable girl, again; never--- but Caelius' sudden appearance cut off that thought, and she sat up straight again, rubbing at her eyes- those weren't tears, okay, just Jeremy's hair in her eyes.

"Maintenance duty, huh.. Let's go."

Abruptly standing up, she attempted to herd Jeremy, Eva and Otto out the door, lowering her head as she passed Petra.

While she wasn't exactly focused on everything being said, it was hard not to sense the tension and probably even more difficult to fully accept that someone had brought along a sibling.

Family...wasn't it one of those taboo topics?

At first she remained very still, asking similar questions silently to herself that Jeremy risked to say aloud...but then as a name rang bells of familiarity, hazel eyes lifted and then settled rather heavily on Petra--her partner from the desert mission.

It was sort of awkward sitting in the same room with the other hunter, not that either of them had very much to say to one another...but even still, Minerva kept her gaze on the dark-haired woman for a long while before scanning the faces of those around her...trying to pinpoint where the 'sister' was nestled.

Perhaps this was why they had been allowed to come to the same island, to do the same job. The situation between them did not seem kindly in the least.

The door opening and the few sentences Caelius spat out nearly sent Minerva reeling out of her seat. She HAD questions, yes. She WOULD have liked for them to be addressed then, but apparently the man had other things to do...rather than further inform them of what the hell had gone on. A long, drawn out sigh escaped the death trainee's lips as she pressed both hands against the table and dropped her head onto them once again.

What the heck was maintenance duty? Ugh...

"Goodbye Mr. Pissy Pants." Cass said once (hopefully) Caelius was out of earshot, lifting one arm and waving after the death hunter as he took his leave. "Heirs, huh? Wait..clans?" She seemed to mull about what this new information meant, looking over to Candace "Sounds like the answer to your earlier thought is 'They bred'." she chimed, then leaned back over her seat to crack her spine. It was really killing her.

Being up all the damn time sucked, she had to wonder if Caelius just needed acupuncture or something to get all of the kinks out of his system to get his pissy a** to stop being so..pissy. Because he was angry all the damn time. She couldn't imagine that was healthy.

Still, unlike Reine, she didn't immediately move to get up, just picking at her ear instead and trying to act like drama wasn't breaking out all over the place.

She didn't really like Drama.

Otto jumped from the table and into a nearby seat as soon as Caelius burst through the door, pretending he hadn't been sitting on the table that whole time.

His pounding heart told him he was scared he'd almost been caught.

The conclusion was short. Otto's favorite kind of conclusion or lecture. Maintenance? Sure, whatever.

Otto slid from his seat once Caelius left and followed after Reine.

When Candace explained it to her, she found her explanation to be a little vague, but she soon clued in to what horsemen she was referring. "Creepy." And they were here? Back in Deus ex Machina, with Caelius? For what purpose? Moments after that--it finally clicked that those were probably the hell ponies they were talking about when they had done their test on the island. If that was--then these four were powerful..and extremely dangerous. It brought a chill down her spine just thinking of it.

Her gaze shifted, spotting Wilson as he moved to sit by Ryan, and soon after that, Dakota came in as well. Aw s**t. Sinking down into her seat, Kat brought her hand up to her face, keeping it there and hopefully keep him from noticing. Thankfully, Caelius had returned moments later.

Hell yes she had questions! But they would have to wait--if she ever managed to ask at all. The death hunter was..a little intimidating. wether she would be able to work up the courage to ask him any questions was debatable.

Then they were all assigned to Maintenance duty? Well..sure. Why not? Maintenance for what though..? Shrugging, she moved to exit. "See you guys later." She grinned to Wilson, Ryan and Dakota as she passed by."

Despite her pretty unapproachable attitude, there was absolutely no resistance in the moon-hunter-trainee as Robert gathered her in his arms, sliding easily onto one of his knees. Although she made sure not to look too pacified by his affection, (which she most certainly was,) the muscles in her shoulders relaxed instantly, uncoiling beneath the soft, comforting touch of his lips that was likely just as much for himself as for her. She could hear in the way he hissed his response that Reine had riled him up again, something which threatened to bring back her own bad mood, but Petra forced it down, resting a hand on his knee instead.

Jeremy wasn't the only one who winced a little as Robert's voice echoed throughout the small room, shutting her eyes for a second and taking a breath. Perhaps it might not have been the best idea to announce that to their entire peer-group.

Luckily, for once Caelius happened to save the day. The impulse to remove herself from Robert's lap, lest the death hunter make some sort of comment and/or take physical action (they were all getting a bit twitchy) but he seemed not to care in the least. The news of maintenance duty shouldn't have been surprising either, although Petra's expression shifted into a distinct frown, making sure not to give an irritated sigh before Caelius was out of the room, punctuated by his traditional door-slam.

And here they thought they'd done well this mission.

The hasty leave of others brought Minerva to her feet, lip sliding into her mouth to be nibbled on as the woman escaped the confines of the classroom...

And whatever situation might continue to linger so long as the trainee's remained within it.

So they were getting no details from Caelius--that didn't come as too much of a surprise. And what was this maintenance mission? Though...ah well, that didn't really matter either. Noting that Reine was suggesting that they leave, Eva rose from her seat, pausing to rest a hand on Gale's shoulder and smile before she turned and followed the others out.

Phew, time to dispel that tension. It had been getting kind of suffocating in there.

Dakota sighed as Caelius made his entrance and then left just like that. No news on the horsemen but it was whatever. he wanted to go relax now.

Though he didn't catch the drama of the hunters, he felt sad that he didn't get a pretty girl to sit in his lap. Maybe in the future? No he doubted it.

He pushed himself up and followed Kat out, Waving to Ryan and Wilson. "See around boys, Hit me up if you wanna hang." He winked before heading out of the room.

Well. That was.... interesting. Madison felt like she was watching a soap opera or a daytime talk show or something. Caelius' behavior only added to the surreality of the whole affair.

Then again, at the end of the day, some things were the same as always. Paperwork. Goody. As curious as part of her was to find out what the hell was going on with A-10, Robert, and Petra, the rest of her just wanted the drama fallout to involve her as little as possible. The thought of Phoenix being torn apart...

... No, no. She didn't want to think about that at all.

Sighing inwardly, Madison got up, nodded to the others, and left.

Well, that was that. Tedan wasn't entirely sure what 'maintenance' they were supposed to be doing, but now was very obviously not the time to ask questions about it.

Geez, Caelius was touchy. With a nod to his fellow trainees, the dark-haired hunter pushed himself up from his desk and headed out of the room.

“Dakota!” He briefly waved him over as soon as he saw the moon hunter.

Woah. Okay. Wilson curiously drew his gaze toward the others as drama took out, but firmly kept his lips sealed and calmly watched from the sides. He probably should have spoken up, maybe said something to calm the two sides down, but the mentioning of Reine being Petra’s sister caused him to restrain himself. All of a sudden, this was some sort of family matter, and Wilson didn’t consider it his right to butt in. Maybe if the tension continued he would try something, but he barely knew them.

Besides, drama wasn’t exactly his thing.

He nearly fell out of his seat when the door slammed open, revealing Caelius. Wilson bit back a groan as Caelius informed them of maintenance duty. What? Volunteered himself? Haaha, very funny. He turned when Kat waved him, Ryan, and Dakota as she exited the room. Wilson threw Caelius a wary glance. Perhaps he should get going as well. He slowly slid out of his seat as Dakota moved to leave as well. Wilson rolled his eyes at the wink. “Yeah, I think I’m going to head out as well. Later.”

Ryan gave his friend a smile when he took a seat beside him. It looked like just about everyone was back now. Well, everyone except for THE death hunter himself. Though just as thought finished crossing his mind, the door slammed open with a thud, announcing that very man's presence.

Maybe now they'd get some answers...

He listened, quietly, doing his best to ignore the sarcastic comments their group leader spoke to them, hoping he'd give them all an explanation for that bizarre order. Lot of good it did. All they managed to find out was that they now had been voluntold to do some mandatory maintenance work and fill out their forms.

Well great.

Ryan rolled his eyes when the door slammed shut. He should have expected that much. He didn't even know why he had been hoping to hear anything more.

"Right, I'm going back..." he grumbled and left the classroom.

There was something comforting about the way Caelius always hated on them after a mission. Maybe it was a militant feeling. All he knew was, things would never change around here.

He picked Petra up off his lap, took her hand in his, and squeezed it. Then he led her out the door, in perfect silence.
