Christiajn heard his brother enter the dorm cursing at his boss. So he fed poor Iris gum? What kind of moron gave a horse bubble gum? From the city or not, it should be common sense that the only creature that's supposed to ever have gum are humans! If he had to guess, the idiot was trying to get the poor horse to "talk", in which you use peanut butter-- not gum. Ah well. Georgia just hoped Tennessee's poor horse was alright and not feeling sick after the attempt to chew gum.

He paid no mind to his brother when he came into the kitchen, seeing as he still had some dishes to finish washing. (Though, not too many by this point.) He heard the kettle start to scream, so he turned the sink off and dried his hands before beginning the process of making a pitcher of sweet tea. Was someone there? He had been s caught up in his task of cleaning that he hadn't noticed the presence of anyone else. (His commander would have been sick to hear that.) Well, seems Andrew was on the case, so Georgia made sure the sugar in the tea was dissolved before he moved on to making lemonade.

That's when he heard a familiar accent. New York used to have the same accent before he developed the obnoxious canter that is the New York dialect. (At least it wasn't as bad as freaking New Jersey. Georgia couldn't handle being in the same room as New Jersey for more than a few minutes whenever they spoke.) He washed his hands and sat the lemonade and sweet tea in the fridge next to the three liters of Coke that was sitting there and left the kitchen area. he stopped and blinked.
"So it is you, Netherlands! I thought maybe one a' our siblin's were pullin' our leg by puttin' your name on our door since I ain't seen ya in the dorm. How've ya been?" He never really talked to the guy when he was a colony, so he wouldn't be surprised if he had no memory of him. Not like if he came across Scotland or Germany, who had both been his tutors at one point. Still, no sense in being rude. "Just finished makin' a pitcher of sweet tea and lemonade, an' we got Coke in the fridge if yer thirsty. Help yourself."

"Abel's a nice name," Tennessee said with a small smile but he had no idea what else to say. Andrew wasn't a big talker and Abel didn't seem to be much of one either. Most of his siblings were fairly chatty so the state normally didn't need to worry about trying to come up with conversations himself. Honestly, he would be content to just nod and have a comfortable silence between them but would Netherlands think he was being rude? Tennessee didn't know anything about the country but the country certainly seemed to know something about him. It was a little stressful for him although his expression remained calm.

Luckily it was Georgia who swooped in to save the day. Thank goodness the friendly blonde was a talker. Andrew might have sighed in relief if he didn't have more self control although he did give his sibling a funny look. It sounded like Christian actually knew this nation. Were they military buddies or something?

"You two friends?" he asked as he looked between his brother and Abel.

The blond state smiled and shrugged his shoulder, deciding to answer both peoples' question at the same time. "Eh, not really. A lot of the original states belonged to other countries or were under their care for a while before England showed up. I don't know if you remember him, Netherlands, but New York used to talk about you and the Dutch who helped settle him 'fore England took custody of 'em, especially when we were younger an' just gettin' started as a country. new York talked pretty highly of you, which was more than what I could say for Scotland and Germany... Although, both weren't as bad as I assumed they would be... At least, Germany wasn't. Florida used ta talk 'bout you too since Spain, the b*****d, used to grumble 'bout you." Needless to say, Georgia wasn't too fond of Spain. After all the problems he had faced because of Florida and Spain, his childhood hadn't been all too easy and frequently caused him to approach anyone who spoke Spanish or had a Spanish accent with caution. He was getting better about that though! (Especially when the last few of his bosses bopped him hard and called him "racist" even though all he did was look at a few Hispanic strangers with suspicion and distrust. Not his fault if people he doesn't know that are walking around his house make him on edge! It's not like it would have been any different had any other race been the ones messing with his things without permission!)

"Ah, New York..." He remembered when he settled the state. It's been centuries since he's heard or seen that state, but it was probably better if they never saw each other again. Who knows what will happen. But what really caught Abel's attention, was when Georgia called Spain a b*****d. He hated that idiot too? Well then, they would get along quite nicely. "The b*****d talked about me? Not really surprised."

Andrew blinked when Georgia brought up Spain. It had been such a long time since he even thought about the former empire. That nation certainly had caused them all a great deal of grief during their childhoods, but sparking the rivalry between Georgia and Florida was probably what he was most notorious for in the southeast. Tennessee had never fully understood their issues with each other, but it had always been described to him as a "colony thing" so he wouldn't get it anyway.

Tennessee briefly mused over whether Spain might resent him for conquering Florida or not. The European nation wasn't really someone he was concerned about, though. Despite the nation very nearly killing Andrew when he was little while trying to bully the child into becoming part of New Spain, he had never seemed like a bad guy. In fact, Tennessee was fairly confident they might have been friends if they met under better circumstances. Louisiana said he could be a pretty harsh boss at times and something about a conquistador (whatever that meant) but the reviews hadn't been so bad Andrew considered him a threat of any sort. Florida certainly seemed to have loved Spain a lot... it almost made the state feel guilty for forcing him to join the Union, but it had seemed like the best way to stop him from hurting Christian at the time...

"I take it you're not too friendly with Spain neither," Tennessee said more than asked when Netherlands called him a b*****d. For the moment he refrained on commenting on his own opinions since he had only met Spain once or twice when he was little. The moment the nation started squealing "LINDO" and making grabby hands towards the small child he had run and hid with the horses until Sevier said it was time to go home. Andrew almost felt a small shiver up his spine as he remembered the creepy face Spain had made at the time.

Goergia shrugged his shoulders, smiling in a happy and friendly way. "Eh. His pirate days were a pain in my butt, but apparently I was one for him as well since he usually grumbled about people who caused him a hard time accordin' to Florida. I almost wonder if Spain'll remember the a** whoopin' I used to give him even when I was a fresh-faced colony in the making. It's what he gets for tryin'a lay a hand on my sister." After all, all of the states he was close to had a fearful respect when Georgia was in the same room as South Carolina since he would go from sweet and cuddly to the kindness of a barracuda should anyone try to pick a fight with his older sister. Sure, he was like that with all of his siblings, but the one state you really wanted to avoid hurting if you wished to make friends with Georgia was South Carolina. After all, it was because of her asking for someone to keep her safe that he was born.

Georgia gave a stretch above his head, his back cracking and popping lightly as he did so. When he finished, he smiled to Andrew.
"I heard you talkin' 'bout poor Iris. What'd that moron of a boss do to your li'l baby now? He didn' really try ta give her chewing gum, did he?"

Tennessee certainly knew just how defensive Christian could be if South Carolina was involved. When the Civil War had been on the horizon Andrew thought Georgia might break a yankee's arm just for getting too close to touching their sister. Even as a member of the South, Tennessee had been cautious when crossing words with the younger Carolina in case her favorite little meat shield felt she had been threatened. Not that he ever thought Christian would hurt him badly, but when Georgia was serious and wanted to be scary he was not fun to deal with.

The question regarding Iris snapped Andrew's attention back to the present and his face crinkled with the still fresh aggravation of talking to his boss. "That stupid b*****d," he grumbled irritably. "If dumb was dirt he'd cover a ********' acre. I could fertilize all my crops with that dip s**t... Tryin' to feed Iris gum of all things! Who does that?"

Tennessee huffed and if his boss had been present the state might of tried to strangle him. "Apparently he ran out of sugar cubes for her to munch on so he thought gum would be ok," he grumbled. "Just 'cause Iris was bred by Jackson and is real smart don't mean you can feed her things like that! She's still a horse for Christ's sake!" Very few things in the world meant more to Andrew than that horse (outside of his family) and if someone really did hurt her he probably would have been on the next plane home to teach someone the true meaning of frontier justice.

Christian blinked for a moment with a blank look on his face. Then, he let out a very audible groan/ sigh as he slapped a hand to his forehead and rubbed the bridge of his nose. Really? Just.... REALLY?! "I swear that if stupidity were a sin, that poor sonuvabitch would be goin' ta hell in a hand-made basket. I know he probably ain't never stepped foot on a farm, so much as a dude ranch," the way he said dude ranch clearly showed that he thought locations like that were a joke and the people who attended them were fools, "but surely the man's owned a dawg or a cat at least once in his life an' would know ya don' give them poor creatures chewin' gum since they swallow it whole! It ain't good when a human swallows it, so what in da Hell did he expect givin' it to a horse. Someone oughta have thrown an apple at his head an' told 'im ta give it to her while beggin' her forgiveness." He sighed once more, shaking his head slowly.

Really now. Where did they keep finding these politicians?! These people were such idiots, and they were constantly screwing the states over! They'd have better luck getting ducks to run this smoothly since they were at least professional quacks with a lick of sense on how to do it the right way! He finally lowered his hand and looked to Netherlands.
"Hope you got bosses with more sense than the ones we got over in America. If not, then I understand any miseries you gotta be facin', seein' as how we're just states an' this is the sorta crap we go through. Must be a million times worse when you're the whole country."

When Tennessee said that the Dutchman wasn't friendly with Spain, he nodded in approval. He hated the Spaniards guts. Ever since Spain took him over in 1579, he could never forgive him for what he'd done. Taking his own sister away from him, starting a Thirty-Years-War, Killing his people...Those were only a few of the hardships that Spain had caused him. Not only was the b*****d a blood thirst monster, he was a freaking ****ing *****. That's why he never wanted his siblings to go near the man.

Abel watched as the two states bickered about someone giving a horse gum. Who would be stupid enough to give a horse gum? Even Italy wasn't that stupid. Oh well, the state ARE a part of America. His stupidity must run in their family.

The Dutchman looked at Christian when he started to talk, "Trust me, they aren't that good either. They're BETTER...But not as good." The boy was right. If something bad happened inside the country, it would be 100,000,000 times worse on the outside. It's happened before with him, but it was easy to fix it.

Tennessee couldn't agree more with Christian. "I only elected him because he seemed like the lesser of two evils," he grumbled. "Now I'm stuck with him... I hope next election gives me some better bosses to chose from. I'm worried 'bout Iris now... I wish I coulda brought her here, but I don't think she'd fit in the dorm."

Iris probably would get mad at him for taking her away from her cozy barn anyway. She didn't like being shipped or flown places either and he hated the thought of upsetting his trusty mare. Not to mention he already had Violet to deal with... who had been suspiciously quiet that day. Andrew frowned as he looked around for evidence of his pink stalker and wondered just what she might be plotting. Violet wasn't always on his heels, but usually she would at least make an appearance.

"This is kinda a weird question, but you ain't seen a little pig 'round here, have you?" Tennessee asked Able since he had probably been there for a while. "Her name's Violet and she kinda follows me around... I hope you don't mind. I can't really get rid of her."

Christian gave an understanding grunt to both. If the states (and nations) could rule their homes like normal people rule their own home, then it would make things easier on them. At the same time, though, having a sort of king-like figure who never ages might come off as a bit suspicious, not to mention Georgia hated kings and had for a very, VERY long time now. He had no problem letting his citizens know who he was, though he usually only told his closest human friends at this point since animals have a sixth sense on these things and having too many people knowing your real identity can get to be a hassle, especially people who want a job or are complaining about taxes or this, that, and the other. (Not to mention that earlier years of going by Georgia taught him that he might appear a little.... not as masculine as he thinks he does, which confuses people.)

At Tennessee's question, Christian crossed his arms over his chest and looked up.
"I know I ain't seen her, an' I think she's startin' ta learn that if I'm in the kitchen I'll usually feed her. Speakin' of the kitchen, I should probably finish washin' dishes an' maybe mop in there. It ain't dirty, but it helps.... Oh! Netherlands! Before I forget, we got family that's wantin' ta come over ta eat dinner here. You're more than welcome ta join us iffin ya don't mind eatin' with a bunch of Americans. I know that bothers some of the foreigners sometimes, so I thought I should give ya a heads up. If not, we'll try ta keep the mess ta minimum while you do your own thing."

"Pig? No, I haven't seen it," He had a pet pig? He knew from research that pigs were very messy, and like Germany he was kind of a neat freak as well. "And it's fine, I don't really mind."

Abel looked back at Christian when he offered him to join him and his family for dinner. He really shouldn't, since he wasn't too fond of the Americans...But at the same time he didn't want to be rude and decline. "Alright, I guess I can." As long as something doesn't pop up, he'll be fine

Andrew frowned when his room mates said they hadn't seen the pig. That was odd. The last time she had been seen was around breakfast, right? Tennessee wasn't too worried about her getting hurt but he knew she could get into some really weird stuff if left to her own devices long enough. Well, that could be investigated later.

"I hope you don't mind our brothers and sisters too much," Tennessee said as he gave Netherlands an apologetic smile. "They don't mean no harm, but they can be a little rowdy. Try not to let anything they say or do get to you. I find just ignorin' them is the best way to deal with a lot of their shenanigans."
