(Trainers etc.)

“Izumi has told us a lot about you,” Dith nodded, releasing Jarome’s hand, “all complimentary I assure you.” What exactly were this man’s intentions? Dreadlocks, half his head shaved, intimidating tattoos and those eyes. He felt a bit like the crotchety set in his ways parent who just didn’t ‘get’ things that the all cool kids were doing these days, but much as he was sure Izumi would be horrified by his thoughts he felt he had fair reason. She was sweet and innocent; this man was clearly anything but. A little Talk was definitely in order before the evening was out, out of earshot of all the others of course.

When Rosie enthused about heading off to dance, Dith paused. He certainly wasn’t embarrassed to dance in public but he was hesitant here and now for two reasons. Reason one: lots of people were around who he might squash. Reason two: he was really far too old to be dancing with this particular group of people, he’d look like a creep. He couldn’t really see anyone his age around here actually, but perhaps he was just missing them. Then again perhaps he was the only person over thirty five or so present. Awkward. He must either look like a weirdo or a chaperone. Still, given his attitude to Jerome perhaps the latter wasn’t actually too far from the truth. On the other hand dancing was fun, and why should he care if people he didn’t know made false assumptions about him?

In the end Dith decided that he was Mr. Chaperone at least for now and turned to Izumi. “Are you going to come dance Izumi?” If Jerome thought he was going to get a chance to fondle her on the dance floor he had another thing coming namely a grab to the collar, a hauling across the room, and a very very stern word indeed.

(Xander, punch bowl crowd)

“Good,” Frost responded, “and I do hope you’re right.... Well it looks as if there will be a dearth of punch soon in any case.” A Gengar was drinking from one of the bowls, he was fairly sure he recognised it. Oh, yes, of course; he’d seen it in the rec room that evening after the disastrous mission that had left several rockets wandering around an abandoned mine with Galactic. It belonged to that man with the tattoos, he thought.

As Frost approached the table he nodded to Hayes and ‘Brey, choosing to ignore the scarred man whose name he didn’t trouble to remember; one more shouting person whose only skill seemed to be hitting things wasn’t really worthy of his notice. Besides the punch, which was now vanishing into the Gengar anyway, there were bottles and cans of this and that. Frost studied them thoughtfully, seeking something inoffensive. Eventually he decided ‘what the heck’ and picked a can of energy drink out of an ice bucket. The top looked clean. He knew it wasn’t really but using hand sanitizer to rectify that struck him as a pretty poor idea, he happened to know from experience that it tasted terrible. Eventually he settled for wiping it off a bit with a clean handkerchief.

“Cheers then,” he opened the can and raised it in Xander’s general direction. “To a pleasant evening.” Wishful thinking. Oh well.

*****

(Hayes, Tam, Xander, Frost, anyone else nearby)

“Mmfh!” Aulus half choked, almost but not quite sending punch out of his nose in a combined reaction to Hayes’ comment and sudden Gengar. Coughing and wiping his eyes he made a show of smacking Hayes over the head, though in actuality his hand barely even brushed the other Agent’s hat. “Well I tried,” he said once he’d recovered himself, “but it’s really hard not to show off my arms, they do it all by themselves. Not that you’d understand with those little noodles you call arms of course....”

Oh nice, he’d just been blown off by the weird little b*****d who lurked in the garage and refused to authorise you signing out a car until he officially came on shift ten minutes later. He was so hurt, he’d probably never recover. The grin Aulus had been wearing faded to a sneer as the helmeted engineer actually wiped off the top of a can before opening and drinking from it. What a little tosser.

“Evening to you too,” Aulus snapped at the freak before turning to the young man who appeared to be hanging around with him. “Can you see me, or did I unknowingly come as the Invisible Man?” he asked dryly.

(@Asch)

Aila acknowledged Asch rejoining her silently, if not somewhat sullenly. She watched the hall in general, paying no particular attention to any one group or individual.

_________

(@Trainers)

Luke wasn't terribly surprised when Rosie found him - he would have been more surprised if she hadn't been at the event at all. Judging from her outfit, she was quite enthusiastic about the whole thing. Though when was Rosie not quite enthusiastic about something or another?

"Yeah," he responded with his same bored intonations, though in recent times that attitude was more of an act than in others. Nonetheless, he felt it necessary to validate his attendance, "I wanted to train some more, but Mieu got tired and quit. Then the others followed his lead and, well..." He glanced around briefly. There was Sera, and Dith was hard to miss... Safe to assume that everyone was in attendance. Maybe it was good that he had come after all, then. He hated being left out, even if he was the one leaving himself out.

At Umbreon's direct order, the pokemon twins looked at each other. They hadn't seen Shizuo in sooo long, and they were sure he would feed them if they continued with him toward the refreshments. However, despite their dislike of their own trainer, they highly respected Faleen and her Umbreon and considered themselves loyal to Team Rocket first and foremost. If Umbreon and Faleen wanted them for something, then they would oblige. Especially if it meant getting Izaya into trouble. The pair hopped off of Shizuo's pant legs and hurried over to the dark eeveeolution's sides, looking up at him curiously.

the lighter purrloin asked, looking excited as she pranced about energetically.

(important)
...?> the darker sister wondered aloud.

With his dark cape flowing out behind him, the Rocket grunt ran through aisles of people and chairs around the food area, determined not to lose his target. At the mention of his codename, however, he had to look up. What now?

It was Faleen. "Yes, and they'd better keep away from me, too, if they know what's good for them," he replied, irked by the reminder of his misbehaved dark-types. "I don't want them leading him back to me. If anyone asks, they're not mine." At this point, he didn't really care whether or not the agent understood his reasons; only that she was aware that he did not want the twins around him at the moment.

She probably thought she was doing him a favor by letting him know they had escaped. Why were so many of his teammates so eager to 'help' him when he didn't want it? And at a party, no less! Why couldn't they just be selfish like normal people and keep to themselves, enjoying what time they had to have fun?

Now he'd lost Shizuo. Wonderful. If he wasn't cautious, the great, zombie ape would find him before he found Shizuo again. It was like a horror movie when one didn't know where the danger was. Izaya could only suspect he would pop up at the least opportune moment.

What the - oh, no, not now! What in the world did Bro think he was doing?! Now how was Shizuo going to get drunk? The man had just been going for the punch, too. He doubted his rival would go for it now that it had the possibility of ghost backwash mixed in. That was, of course, if Bro even left any for others to drink. Just perfect.

And now there was a drunk Gengar on the loose. As if a sober one wasn't worrisome enough. That, and a sugar-high pink Golbat. Izaya tugged at his wig anxiously. He dreaded to think what his own mischief-making pokemon were doing currently. This was not what's he'd planned for at all.

Sierra (@ anyone)

"Mummy? Really? Now, what am I supposed to do with this?" Sierra muttered to herself in the costuming room, scratching her head and glancing around at the supplies. A lot of things had been picked over already, as they were running a bit late for the party. Her Pikachu eagerly dived into a pile of clothing, burrowing about and popping up again with a white linen wrap. Chuckling at Marle, she shook her head and took the offered garment. "Well, it's a start," she acknowledged.

After some more rummaging, as well as the enthusiastic help from Marle, Sierra figured she made a passable mummy. She wasn't willing to wear anything too skimpy, so she'd donned an Egyptian style wrap skirt and a criss-crossed cloth top before going any further with the outfit. Satisfied that she was covered, even if she lost any wrappings, Sierra had allowed Marle to eagerly begin bouncing and twirling about her form with long strips of linen cloth, loosely so, but not so much that they threatened to fall off. The strips were interwoven, with some bits hanging loose to complete the look, then a gold-trimmed scarf was wrapped around her head. Layla, trotted over with her own prizes, a set of gold arm and ankle bands. Sierra' scratched the Eevee's head in thanks before slipping the jewelry on. Khalon was last to return with a small, blue and gold striped, Egyptian rod in his teeth.

Sierra paused, posing before the mirror to take in the complete look. "Well? What do you all think?" There was a small chorus of approving noises from the Pokemon that caused her to chuckle. "Alright, good enough then. So...who's going to be my escort for the evening?" Best not to let Marle loose on the party, at least not at first, until the Rocket could be sure that she'd behave. Layla seemed indifferent, so she turned to Khalon. "Care to escort an Egyptian mummy priestess to a party, Sir Khalon?" she smiled.

The Umbreon nodded once. Not exactly a typical Egyptian feline escort, he was close enough. Sierra hung a golden ankh pendant around his neck, gave him a fond scratch, then recalled the others for the time being. Pokeballs stashed, hidden well within her costume, Sierra and her companion turned to the dressing room attendant, presented their ticket, and were allowed entrance to the main room.

Dinosaurs, fairies, robots, and princesses! It was so much to take in, it took her a moment before Sierra began making her way into the room, looking for any familiar faces...if there even were any.

Sheena (@ anyone)

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

"I don't know about this...are you sure...?" Sheena objected quietly, glancing down at the Eevee at her feet. Her ticket said 'Superhero', and while the trainer had to admit, this costume technically fulfilled the requirements...

...she wasn't exactly comfortable with it.

She had a bright crimson flowing scarf wrapped around her head, like a headband, the ends tied behind her head and flowing behind her as she moved. She'd found a black mask with crimson accents and added that to the outfit as well. The rest of the outfit...was fitted black and crimson leather, with little heart accents cut in various places...the chest, the sides of her thighs...and her stomach was bare as well. She felt rather...exposed.

The Eevee below grinned upwards, watching the human fiddling nervously with the top of the outfit, especially the bit that exposed a rather generous amount of cleavage. 'Hey, if you got it, honey, flaunt it!' he crowed enthusiastically.

Sheena glared at the chirping Pokemon. "I don't know what you said, but I don't like that look."

Gnome immediately settled down, his grin completely innocent, tail wagging behind him.

"Yeah, right, like I'm falling for that," Sheena muttered, rolling her eyes. Still...what else was she going to wear? She had to find something, or they wouldn't let her in to this crazy party. She took a few minutes to steel herself, delaying by tightening the armband on her right arm, then messing with her boots. With no further methods of stalling coming to mind, she sighed and headed for the door resolutely. "Come on then, sidekick," she murmured, the giant bow bouncing as the Eevee bounded after her.

As they emerged into the party, Sheena's eyes passed automatically over the crowd in a surveying manner. There was something like caution in her movements, wariness, something more than just nervousness at being new to the region. After a few minutes, the pair slipped into the crowd.

((Shadow))

"No, there shouldn't." Luxury replied seriously, with maybe a touch of sadness. There shouldn't be any girls like her, she knew. Of course, this stranger wasn't going to know anything. It wasn't his business.

The grunt tried to loosen up when the music kicked up, though she had to laugh at the chosen song. Ghostbusters, really? Really? But, it was Halloween, and Halloween songs were bound to be cheesy. Pfft, everything about Halloween was cheesy.

Embarrassed, Luxury tried to follow Shadow's lead since she was failing at keeping her face from turning an appropriate red. She should have taken the make-up lady's offer of body and face paint.

@Trainer group: Rosie, Sera, Jerome etc

Ah, what was this now? It seemed that dancing was being encouraged now with the change of music. This party was seeming like a bust, really. He hadn't been told to be here for any reasons. He came of his own accord. There were a couple rockets he recognized, and probably more that he didn't. Mau had lost Aila in the crowd, though she figured he was still off helping the distressed redhead.

It seemed like a good time to leave.

The older agent began making his way through the party, heading across the floor where people had been gathering to dance. But the more people who were getting into it, the harder it was to try and weave through. Eventually he came to a stop when someone wasn't looking and knocked into him. Mau sighed and re-adjusted his hat. Looking up again, he saw a crowd of people. A rather tall... TALL man. Taller then himself. A redhead that... wasn't that the man Aila was assisting in the dressing rooms? And...

"Rosie?" He hadn't intended to say her name. He was just surprised to see the young trainer here. CRAP! He probably called attention to himself by uttering her name. Oh well, too late now. At least he kept his mask up and hat down as he looked at the trainer surrounded by a wealth of others. She was, likely, traveling and training with them. Mau suppressed a scoff at the idea of children still dreaming to become a pokemon master.

Despite the polite factor, Luxury's reply caught Shadow's attention. He blinked at her, perplexed. "Huh? Why not?" The fact that she said she didn't 'do boyfriends' suggested that she didn't believe they were any good, which the street whole-heartedly agreed with. Relationships were overrated in his opinion. Most of the guys he knew were only looking to get in a girls' pants, and he really didn't know why females put up with them.

But then she said there shouldn't be more girls like her. What did that mean? The robot regarded the devil girl closely, hearing the sadness in her tone. Oh. She was independent and single, but that didn't necessarily mean she wanted to be. Rolling his eyes with a helpless smile, Shadow was glad he was wearing his helmet. Girls were such a mystery. They never seemed to know what they wanted.

He could empathize with her on one thing, though. Loneliness. Who actually wanted to be alone? "You don't have to have a relationship with someone to feel wanted," the android told Luxury with his techno-morphed voice. "Ever heard of friends?"

Though he had been tentatively going with what he thought was acceptable dance moves throughout their conversation, Shadow suddenly reached out to take the devil's hand. He spun her around slowly in a twirl before pulling her in. It wasn't exactly a couple song or a slow dance, but it was fun and spontaneous. She seemed like that kind of girl. There wasn't much point to either of them dancing alone when they had come on the dance floor together.

Grinning as more costumed guests began to arrive on the dance scene, the decked-out blue DJ, dressed in what appeared to be large, blue fairy wings, spoke into the microphone before him as the Ghostbusters remix began to come to an end.

"Very nice, ladies and gents!" he called, skimming through his playlist. "I like what I'm seeing out on that dance floor! Can I just say those are some amazing costumes out there? Haha, yeah, yeah, I know half of you were forced into them against your will, but be grateful to our party staff! Let's give a round of applause to them!" He paused a minute to clap, encouraging the occupants of the room to do the same.

"They've transformed even the most hopeless cases into beautiful princesses! That's right, I'm talking to you, gorgeous," he said, pointing out a figure in a Victorian-style dress with a gold tiara. Chances were he'd had no idea what that princess had gone through that night already. "We've got Papa Bear over there, busting a move! Whoo! Indiana Jones is hanging around with Alan Grant? That's no wonder. This place is a digging site for dinosaurs and mummies! Pretty fine ones, too, if I say so myself." He licked his lips, beaming at the reptilian ladies. "Yo, cowboy! Where do you think you're going? Why don't you be a proper gentlemen and show one of this lovely young girls a nice time! You can't leave yet. The party's just getting started."

"And - what's this? Better head over to the snack table, ghouls and gals! Looks like there's a fancy-looking Gengar chugging down the last of the punch. Save some for us, man!"

Laughing, the DJ turned back to the music on his screen. Finally, he'd found the one he'd been looking for. "Alright, this one goes out to that fabulous feathered female decked out in the white and gold. Keep up that fancy footwork, sweetheart. This song's just for you." With a wink in Sera's direction, the DJ tapped the button the play the song. He'd finally gotten his playlist in order, so unless there were any personal requests, he could sit back and relax.

"Oh, that's right - if you've got any special requests for your someone, feel free to come up here and whisper it in my ear. I'll play it for you pronto, anonymous or not. Don't be shy!" With what could only be described as maniacal laughter, the DJ then sat back in his seat, folding his arms behind his head, careful not to crush his wings.

((I put together a public playlist of a few songs I thought would be appropriate for the occasion, so if any of you have any songs you'd like to add or just share with others, feel free to mention it IC or OOC. Also, the DJ is a random NPC I thought I'd drop in for commentary, music, and laughs, so if anyone has a problem with 'em, just let me know. wink ))

Asch sat himself down next to Aila, and while he was wearing a mask, he couldn't quite hide the agitated look on his face. Which only intensified as the DJ pointed him out. The red head turned blond shot the man a withering glare before returning his attention back to his partner.

"Ce vieux projet de la vôtre a besoin pour s'occuper de ses affaires." Asch finally spoke to Aila, his irritation also reflected in his voice. He barely knew Nakura and already he was rubbing him the wrong way. Asch didn't take too kindly to people prying where they weren't wanted.

@Asch

"Bien au contraire, pour moi," she replied, her own words similarly bitter. "Il ne pouvait pas obtenir assez de vaquant à ses propres affaires." Izaya was definitely behaving strangely, to take such an angry tone and then, evidently, bother Asch about something, all while pointedly secluding himself from the bulk of the party. Not that that mattered at the moment, since she doubted he would respond any more favorably now than he did before.

(Inigo and Presea)
28? Really? Well, to be fair, the costume did cover almost all of the petite woman. Soooooo many questions bouncing around between these two, though. "Um... let's see... I pulled 'magician,' so I don't have anything particularly against it. I... can't really say much for the other questions. What about you, kid? Any answers?" Alba looked to Inigo to maybe help him out.

((Really sorry for the wait, you two. Midterms and group projects and internships are kicking my tail for this and next week. (Izaya)

"Alright, I understand." Faleen held her hand out. "Then give me their pokeballs, I'll handle it."
Faleen, was not one to really play around, and it seemed that that ability was especially expended tonight,
If he didn't want them linked to him, then that was fine, Faleen would handle it. but she wasn't going to have the two Purrlion bouncing around and trying to sabotage Izaya like the two usually liked to do. By outing Izaya, it would be outing this team and putting them all into more unnecessary danger then was needed, this was careless, and Faleen would not have it.

"Umbreon's getting them off some man's leg." despite half of her face being covered by a mask, it was easy enough to see that she was still calm, and patient, fave for her eyebrows seemed a little more stiff then usual.

The two Purrlion listened to him, so he let the hard edge of his voice go, looking down at the smaller dark types as they come over to him,
He asked them, not answering there question just yet, he had his own
though he started walking back through the crowd, glancing to make sure they were following.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(Punch Bowl)
Bro, who seemed really proud of himself, dropped the down back down onto the table with a satisfied smile.
Surprisingly the Ganger was in fact NOT drunk. The very idea that that kind of drink would make him drunk would have made the ghost type laugh in someone's FACE!
But it certainly helped with making him feel pretty damn good.
Leaving half of the spiked punch still in the bowl, Bro reached out to grab a a set of cups, and sloppily filled them.
Grinning at the humans and Pokemon around, he floated back into the party, balancing six cups around his person.
Jerome and those punks around him might want something to drink.
(Gah, will get the others done when I get home from work)
@Aila
A brow raised behind Asch's mask as he listened to his partner's bitter words. Apparently something had caused her mood to take a nosedive as well. She was usually calm and collected, but he could hear the discontent in her voice.
"Il s'intéresse à vous.." Asch frowned thoughtfully, his gaze directed towards the trainer group. "Je vais prendre soin de lui s'il vous tracasse."
Just after he said this though, he caught sight of The Idiot with Rosie. Gritting his teeth, he continued to watch them carefully. However, he still didn't see Natalia. Had he upset her so much that she left?
(Alba, Presea)
Her flat tone when she informed them of her age had little effect on the Spanish kid. "Really?" His eyebrows rose, his tone still chipper. She was really tiny to be 28 - was she joking? She could be, but he refrained from asking. She probably was just a kid or something. "That's really cool, the event must be fun to write about. I think it's cool so far but we just got here, so," he shrugged and turned his hands palm-up in a helpless gesture. In other words, they'd been the wrong pair to ask.
"Nope," he replied to Alba - he'd answered all he could, anyway, and offered the older man a grin. "C'mon, let's go try and find other people we know. Oh," he paused mid-step to offer Presea a lop-sided grin. "It was nice talking with you," he finished politely. Even if he was oblivious, at least he wasn't intentionally rude. That had to count for something, right?
--------------------
(Punch bowl crowd)
"He does like to show off his arms, doesn't he?" The temporary-blond commented with a devious little grin, hands folding behind her back as she halted near Aulus, Hayes, and Tambrey. "Nice costumes, by the way," she added, glancing at all of them in turn, then nodded towards the Gengar. "Guess he was thirsty." In a way he sort of reminded her of Zeus and his lack of manners. Not that the punch being gone was any skin off her nose - there was no way she would touch it anyway. Oh, but they had cans of things too, good. She studied the various beverages in the cooler before pulling out a soda. Anything that lacked alcohol was fine by her.
--------------------
(Trainer group)
Well, it was about time somebody noticed her - and it was the DJ, no less. Luckily the song he played was one of her favorites. Sera made a mental note to figure out how old he was later. Actually, make that soon. For now, though, since the proverbial spotlight was on her, she spun in a circle - halfway through easily pulling the atrocious bird beak mask from her face - and ended it with a swish of her hips and a kiss blown towards the DJ, complete with a flirtatious smile. That done, she sauntered over to Rosie to nudge her shoulder. "C'mon, Rosie! Are you going to dance?" How could she not, anyway? Especially with people watching!
PostPosted: Wed Oct 19, 2011 2:47 pm
Raising a brow at Faleen, her partner reached into his boots and withdrew the pair of Repeat Balls he'd hidden there. "Watch yourself," he said. "You know what a handful they are. What are you planning to do?" And where were the two other girl friends she had been with?
"...That would have been Shizu-chan," the hero responded, suddenly frowning. "Their namesakes adore the guy, so it's only natural with their identical personalities that they would too. Wait, why are you having your Umbreon get them off him?" Izaya asked, suddenly sounding alarmed.
"By now he must know I'm around. If you do that, Faleen, he may just follow all three dark-types back to you, and maybe me. He'll certainly be looking for me in any case. Is that what you want? What will you do then?" Staring at the agent in astonishment, he wondered what in the world had been going through her mind to do such a thing. Maybe she really hated him and was secretly trying to get him killed too. Was that it?
Well, if it was, it was a brilliant plan. The Human-Lover was certain he was doomed. No matter where he ran or hide, Shizuo would find him. This was just speeding up the process. It wasn't Faleen's fault, really, but in the mood he was in, Izaya couldn't help but feel angry. This was why he despised working with others. Their 'help' often did more harm than anything else.
So distracted was he by this news that he failed to notice Bro or his actions regarding the punch. Nor had he seen what had become of Asch or Aila. If only he knew where Shizuo was, maybe he could get a head-start or an advantage of some kind...
(Luke)
"Well, good!" she announced. "Then its a great time for a break, I'm glad you made it."
It had been a while, and they had all worked very hard, Luke included, but sometimes he didn't really have an off button, mixed with the fact that he didn't really seem very inclined to go out much.
Rosie was so happy he showed up.
"We're going to go dance." Rosie told him reaching her arm, and sliding it around him.
The way she talked taking on a quality that matched the outfit theme she was wearing.
"The waters be treacherous me' boy! Hold those sails and press on, we don be no limp legged land lubber!" she pointed to the dance floor "Adventure and Loot! Lets go!"
Melody replied with an enthusiastic "Caaarr"
Upon hearing her name though Rosie turned her head, blinking as she saw someone she had not seen in a long long time "Mau!"
