(Oh my gosh! I just noticed in my last post I put two 'bla's next to each other. Ack! I do that when I have trouble thinking of what to write, and I must have forgotten about it. Eeek! I'm going to go edit it out.)

Dyani rested her chin on her knees, feeling sorry for herself in the shaky aftermath of sobbing and crying. She felt self-pity, she felt self-doubt, she felt guilt, and she felt like ...
Was that just a rustle in the bushes?
The suddenly alert doe stood slowly, trying to move only her eyes as she did so even though her limbs were set out to betray her the way they suddenly shook like leaves in a fall breeze. Briefly, she wished for a way to stay completely motionless (play dead and maybe they'll go away), and then ...
There was a sudden sharp pain in her leg. Had she been stabbed?
She looked. No ... just a dart ...
A dart! What do I do? What do I do? What do I --
Dyani might have risked making a vocalization, to call for help, but the humans that were suddenly so abundant around her noticed that she had opened her mouth and immediatly moved to cover her mouth with sticky, grimy, hairless hands. Oh, it might have been so disgusting and so bitter and she might have decided to bite if suddenly she didn't feel so tired ...
The last thing she heard before everything faded to black was a deeply murmured "Yeah, this one will do just fine."

Oh, but it was her.

The drivers of the Jeep with the now unconscious Dyani in tow (she had a skinny, petite build so the poison in the dart had gone into her bloodstream that much faster) parked next to the Jeep that carried Sebastian, stopping briefly to talk.
"You got one?"
"Yeah. A little fawn. Shook like a leaf."
One of the men in the Jeep lifted Dyani's unconscious body up to display to the driver of the other Jeep, as though displaying a prize.
"That ain't no fawn. That's a doe."
And so there was some argument about what made a deer a doe or a fawn (fur patterning, height and things like that) but eventually the man holding Dyani passed the deer to a man who outstretched his arms to hold her and then put her into the car with Sebastian.
"She got a tracking device?"
"Yep. Right there on the back of her neck."
"Alright, go catch some more now. Good job with this one."

The Jeep that had originally picked up Dyani drove away to go catch more anthros, and Dyani herself went into the trunk with Sebastian. She herself didn't know where she was because she was unconscious and all, but what would happen when she woke up? Lying down with a leash around her neck in case she woke up and decided to put up a fight, Dyani actually looked very akward in her position - legs splayed, hair covering her face, one hand on her stomach and one hand outstretched by her head.
But at least she was with her friend ... right?

Sebastian faked unconciousness, this has happened to him before and normally he would slip out unseenly, but another issue arose she had a tracking device the whole time.... that explains the first attack and this one.... this will cause problems if I escape with her now.... guess I'll just have to go see him when we get there. he stretched a hand out and petted her head I'll get us out of this, promise he said mentally to her then went back to feigning unconciousness

Dyani might have just barely felt Sebastian petting her, her unconscious state not enough for her not to feel touch at least a little, and inside she just might have beamed.
I trust you, Sebastian.

Bump, bump. Click. Vrooooooom. BUMP.
The Jeep suddenly started going on a bumpy road right about then, the car bouncing up and down and bringing up all kinds of dirt and sand from the dusty ground. They knew where they were going, and possibly Sebastian did too, but even if Dyani were conscious she wouldn't have known. It seemed right now that there was nothing but this barren stretch of road, dusty and dirty and filled with rocks, apparently, because the Jeep had to stop and rev up multiple times. Might there be a flat tire, with either luck or the opposite? Might there be a ditch deep enough to strand the vehicle and keep them here (or provide a distraction to let them escape?) How far away was their destination?
BUMP.
The Jeep went over a particularly steep bump, and Dyani's body involuntarily moved just enough to set her petite hand over Sebastian's.
I trust you.
And this time it was completely true and honest.

Are we there yet?

Three and a half eternites, or about half an hour, passed before the Jeep slowed to a stop. Whatever it had stopped infront of, the building towered over everything around it like a tall tiled tyrant and cast it's cold shadow over the car. Both metaphorically and literally, the building blocked all hope [light.] There was no way out now. No way out.
But somehow, she felt just a little bit better when he squeezed her hand.

"We're here. Go get them and bring them in."
Dyani involuntarily flinched when one of the men extracted the dart from her leg, since she hadn't thought to do that herself when she had been hit. And ow, it hurt! Certainly even unconscious (but slowly coming to) Dyani wasn't immune to the stinging pain, and hopefully her flinch let the humans know that. They didn't respond, just lifted her up out of the car and carried her inside the building.
Dyani really didn't want to do it, but she curled herself up against the human carrying her in the hope that maybe ...

And then she heard a grunt. It was a low, guttural sound and it sounded vaguely familiar, although she couldn't have placed it right away. At first, she thought it was one of the humans. But then it clicked.

There was another deer here. That meant there were more anthros here.
What had the humans done?

As two men went to grab Sebastian his eyes opened and he smirked "Mornin boys" He grabbed both their heads and slammed them together then got up and caught them before they could fall on the jeep and make noise, he then hid them under the jeep and took some weapons from them and snuck off into the shadows following the man holding Dyani. I'm coming Anya

"How exactly will a deer help us in war, you idiot?"
"Deer buck. Males can use their antlers ... there's one over there ... and as a last resort they can be used as bait."
The grunting sound came again, closer this time, and now that Dyani knew it was another deer she wished that she could see him. The man who had lifted her was carrying her as one might carry a small child, in a sort of cradling position, with her frizzy brown hair draping over his left arm. The man stood just infront of yet another, sitting at what might have been some sort of strange parody of a calm office-like desk. Yes, because hunting down helpless creatures was just strictly business to them, now wasn't it?
"Where did you find her?"
"By the river. Get this, there was a shack there too - we found that fox again too. He lives in that shack!"
The man behind the desk interrupted just then with a loud "Jackpot!" Clearly, Dyani's friend Sebastian was an elusive one.
"This is his jacket this deer is wearing."
The man behind the desk walked over to the man holding Dyani, some kind of perverse smile blooming on his wrinkled and ugly face. He petted the deer, first just on her head and then down to her cheek. Then to her neck. Then he unbuttoned one tiny button on the military jacket Sebastian had given to her.
"She's pretty, isn't she? Yeah, this one will do just fine."

Sebastian had to stop himself from growling at the way he was touching her.... he then knocked on the door and went to the side then made an impression of one of the humans he heard on the jeep ride "ESCAPE! THE FOX HAS ESCAPE INTO THE WAREHOUSE! WE NEED BACK UP!!" then he made it sound like he ran off to the warehouse and went into hiding.

His hand was on her belly when they heard the notice.
"We can't lose him again! ... Stop standing there like an idiot! Come on!"
"What do I do with this one?"
"Put her in with the buck. See if they make a freaking kid that'll be more keen to fighting. Jeez, I don't know. Just GO!"
And so Dyani went in with the buck, who grunted one more time before the thick door closed behind the suddenly enraged humans. They were out on a bloodchase, and they wouldn't come back until they had their target.

They went all over the place, running around like ants. As Dyani came to, she saw them. Weapons drawn, radioing one another, she saw them. And then she looked up and saw the buck.

The man that had been behind the desk talking to the man that had been carrying Dyani kicked down a janitorial closet door, and was just about to scream some wild bad-cop obscenity when he realized the only 'prisoners' were a couple of mops and brooms. Where was that fox? It should have been easy enough to find him, he had a very much distinctive tail for goodness sake! Why were they running into so many problems?

He sniffed her, coal black eyes flickering all over her body - from her hooves to her face to her tail to the jacket she wore. He got closer to sniff her again, and his antlers touched her cheek just then and ...

"Where is he! I want every single one of you searching! Every single one! We can't let him get away!"

ONce the two humans exited he entered right after, "Anya... Psst Anya focus" he calle dout to her as he went behind the desk "Keys... keys... keys... Aha! Got em" he pulled out a key with a label on it names "Cage" he then ran up to the cage she and the buck was in "I see you made a friend" he chuckled and opened the door "Come on, let get out of here"

Focus, he said. Let's get out of here, he said.
The buck snorted, feeling much more vocal than Dyani (although he was speaking in a deer language rather than English) in a possible show of territorialism. Dyani herself looked at Sebastian, looking eager to leave - but for some reason she was ... she felt ...
Well, maybe it was just an instinctual thing. His antlers ... oh, his antlers ... they ... she ...
It might pass, but deep down she doubted it. She walked out of the cage slowly, her eyes were glazing over ... there was a rosy tint in her cheeks, she had ... urges ...
She wanted to leave. To be as far away from the humans as possible. But at the same time, there was this buck. It's instinctual, she told herself. Perfectly normal. She still felt bad about it, though. Oh, his antlers ...
Given her current disposition, Dyani mentally prided herself when she was able to focus enough to take off her leash (it was no more than a simple dog leash used with the domesticated) and start feeling around the back of her neck for the tracking device. She didn't know what they looked like, or if they could be easily taken out or not, but maybe Sebastian would know?
