Freya was given sushi. She started plucking the little things and popping them into her mouth, laughing at each one.
"What is this baby foods you have givens Freya! I DEMANDS BIGGER! Little baby fishie food is for birds-"
... Then she sadfaced.
... And then she felt her stomach flip, and she was no longer sad Herryk had left.

Miraculously, Mai remembered to wander back to the concession stand in time for the start of the eating contest. She was actually looking forward to participating in such a fun looking event with the rest of the student body and promised herself she would give it her all.
So when she was presented the first course, she absolutely stuffed as much as possible into her mouth. She had managed to just about eat her way through everything when there was a startling moment of discomfort. With a quizzical look on her face, Mai rushed away from the table where the other students were sitting and spewed her recently devoured sushi into the trash.
Woops.

Roch unzipped his vest and pulled out his phone, setting it up to call his old man again. He hesitated, looking around for Xiu. But... should he force her to do something like that? She didn't even know his old man, and--
He should just be careful, make sure he didn't go too far on his own, because he was a jackin' adult--wait, no he wasn't, but he was old enough to know better--
But--
"Jackdammit," he muttered, staring at the picture of his old man on the phone. When had he even programmed it to do that?

"I am, yes. Are you not?" She noticed that the boil didn't write anything down, such a pity! "It seems like an exciting event! I am terribly excited." Despite her generally monotone voice, her repeating of the phrase just showed how ready for this she was; mainly, not really but up for it anyway! "I will do my best to keep everything down." She promised the strange boil.
Needle looked instinctively towards the boil who called Lattice's name. Wait..Lattice wasn't...Hrm. Before she could answer however, there was some commotion and then...the contest started.
Following the voices and a little bit of uncomfortable groping, she found a seat (hopefully not ON someone, no matter how fun it would be to make a friend!), but alas this made her fairly late for the round. In the end, she only ate two pieces, but at least she kept them down!
Sushi was delicious. She liked sushi.

Sushi. Excellent. "Nice appetizer," Nahm commented, then flexed his fingers, cracked his neck, and started scooping the lovely little bites into his mouth. Snap, snap, snap.

Jack, it was too late! Roch put the phone on the table and started stuffing his mouth, intent on getting as much down as he could... y'know, without killing himself. He gulped down plenty, enjoying the flavor even as he ate. Jack, but he loved this sushi stuff. He'd have to thank Lizzy for introducing him to it sometime!

Andeon was conflicted.
On one hand, Junko was there, and he could just imagine how happy he would be to smash her face into a plate of food. On the other hand, Freya was there with the voice of... well, if Xena Warrior Princess and techno viking had a baby. Andeon didn't know who either of those people were and so could not fully appreciate it. However, he did know what a perfect pair of breasts looked like and was appreciating them so intensely that he jumped when Freya slammed her fists, as though suddenly woken from a dream.
He also knew one other thing: he loved this woman, and he could not rest until he had buried his face in her chest and shaken it back and forth like a wet dog. Suddenly very interested in showing his school spirit by participating in those lively and not-at-all-ridiculous activities, Andeon settled in and prepared to eat.
Because I'm here to stay, sweets. Andeon said privately to Junko, as though eavesdropping on her thoughts. He might have continued, but the first round began. His attention went to the food, sucking it up with one tentacle and wrinkling his face in disappointment. Disappointment gave way to dawning realization, his eyes widening slowly as he swallowed it down.
Tasted an awful lot like squid.
Oh god they were turning him into a cannibal.

Cady took a seat at the table as instructed and stared blankly down at the odd plates of food being put before them. What on earth was it? It looked like...some kind of gummy meat scraped across rice. Weird.
She tossed back a few of the tiny rolls, but her momentary and uncharacteristic puzzlement threw her off. She only managed to down nine pieces of the sushi between glances at her competitors. She thought she might recognize a few of them from Open House and classes.
Even that red haired boil (hadn't he had purple hair before?) managed to eat more than her! Obviously, it was time for less thinking and more doing.

Dark eyes narrowed on the approaching chair that seemed to be floating towards them and the purple figure seated within it. He didn't know Andeon, had never met the boil, but he wasn't sure he liked him at all. Junko's reaction only solidified this feeling all the more.
No time to dwell though, as Junko announced the start of the contest. Immediately the boil perked up, sitting straight and moving his arms from the table so there'd be room for the plate to be set before him. Junko's arm was given a kiss, and then he was grinning down at the food they would be eating. <******** ya, Sushi. The boil dug right in, barely chewing between each delicious roll.

The hound wasn't sure why he gave up the chance at free delicious food but it was already said and much to his own dismay, it already began.
With sushi. Jack my life.
He stared with unblinking eyes as the ghoul that spoke to him earlier took her place and daintily ate the two pieces on her plate without much trouble. "Oh wow, those look really good!" he cried out as he cheered on the ghoul and her polite dinner time ways. "You can do it!" he said in a chipper tone as he clapped along to show his support to the ones still in. For those that were crowding around the refuse bins, well they had enough to lament over.

Junko hit the stop button. "Okay! STOP!" She looked a little..disgusted. "That was...um..." She gave a look to Shehk before turning back to the contestants again. "I-interesting! Um..okay then! Next round!" The two ghouls left again to get the next round's dish.  EVERYBODY LOVES A LITTLE SAUSAGE HOTDOG!Grabbing the stopwatch again, Junko cleared her throat. "Ready! Annnnd..GO!"OOC You have 10 minutes! Each contestant will roll 2 D20sFirst die: How much food is eaten in that round. Second die: Whether it is kept down or not. There it was.
She had ruined it.
Andeon watched in dismay as the mighty Freya fell. Fell and then landed in that awful, terrible, no good, very bad place in the mindflayer's perfect memory known as That Which Cannot Be Unseen. He shook his head as each tentacle took hold of the end of one hot dog and sucked them in like the business end of a Shop Vac.
He no longer ate for the honor of a beautiful woman, but to suppress the grief of her loss.
Freya was dead to him now.

"It is delicious." Needle managed to assure the boil as the next food was brought out. The ghoul took a moment to run her fingers along the new food; huh, this was...definitely something she had never had before! A curious bite was given, and then....ohJACK this was delicious! Needle couldn't resist eating as much as she could, as fast as she could. It was a test, right?! AND THESE WERE SO GOOD!
She had no idea that the boil cheering her on was a dog. Or that these were hot dogs.
Or that she had one speared onto one of her needles.

Hotdogs. Roch stared at them. "You're gonna pit hotdogs against sushi?" he asked, making a face. Hell, if he was going to EAT he jackin' well was going to eat stuff he actually LIKED.
So strange, but the gluttonous boil had always, always, ALWAYS hated hot dogs. He choked down one, then stopped, not about to kill himself over jackin hotdogs.
