"Y-yeah, I'm fine," he insisted. He walked around for a bit in a small circle as if to get used to walking again.

Kirin slowed her training until she came to a complete stop. She took another swig of water, finishing it off before walking up to Tanner, barely a foot away. "What's this girl like?"

Nick looked up at his brother and shook his head. "I'm fine, alright? I've been stuck in bed for too long now and I'm practically going insane. I just need to walk around for a bit."

Kirin couldn't understand the last part, but she at least heard the rest of it. She lowered her gaze a bit, glancing away from him. "I-it's nice that you've found someone," she said quietly.

"Ok ok," Nick said with a small sigh. He led the way out of the cafeteria and for now, he just wandered around the safe area.

"I don't know," Kirin replied rather quickly and curtly. Without saying another word, she turned away from him and went back to training on the dummy. Her bangs fell in front of her face and cast shadows over her eyes. Every so often, a quick glimpse of her eyes shown through the hair parting, but her eyes were distant and actually somewhat sad.

Nick wandered around for a bit, pausing every so often as other soldiers came up to talk to him. Somewhere along the line, he heard about Kirin in the training area, and Tanner was supposed to be nearby. "Wanna check on our two love birds?" he said with a small chuckle to Matthew.

Kirin froze up, her final punch stopping just before she hit the training dummy. She was left panting a bit and slowly brushed her hair out of her face as she turned to Tanner. A buried memory was resurfacing, and it was clear in her eyes that it hurt her in the past. For one of the extremely rare times, a tear had actually escaped and ran down her cheek. "T-tanner..."

Kirin rubbed her eyes before making her way over to Tanner. She suddenly wrapped her arms around him and pulled him in a tight hug. "I-it's not... yo-our fault..."

Nick paused at the entrance to the training ground, peeking inside just a bit to see Kirin hugging Tanner. He couldn't help a grin, then he realized this meant he and Clay lost the bet.

Kirin jumped and glared back at Nick and Matthew. "You two are dead!"

Nickolas held up his hands in defense, then pointed one hand to his brother and one behind him as if to show where Clayton was. "It wasn't my idea to make the bet! It was Clay's idea, but Matt won~"

Nick covered his head slightly when Tanner took off after Matt. Of course, he wanted to see this, and took off after them. However, Kirin caught up to him before he could get too far and grabbed him by the back of his shirt. "And where do you think you're going? First of all, you shouldn't be walking much, let alone running. And second, if TK doesn't catch Matt for some reason, you're being used as bait in a friendly game~" she said with a mischievous grin. Nick glanced back at her slightly, gulping nervously.

Kirin had pulled Nickolas along while sneaking around the safe area, making sure neither of them were seen by TK or Matthew. However, only Kirin returned to the training area and waited for them to return. Nick was nowhere in sight.
